Shock Treatment; Not a sequel. Not a prequel. But an equal

Billed as a spiritual sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment is a vastly underrated and equally fun musical.

Denton, USA (The home of happiness!) has been transformed into a television studio. Newlyweds Brad and Janet are contestants on a game show called Marriage Maze. But station leader Farley Flavors (Fast Foods Feed and Fortify Families For the Fabulous Future!) has other plans. He has Brad locked up in soap opera/mental asylum Dentonvale, and begins to groom Janet to be his next leading lady.

At first I was apprehensive to watch this one. Rocky Horror is one of my favorite musicals, and I was afraid a sequel (With different actors as Brad and Janet at that) would cheapen the original. After some prodding from Billy, I checked it out, and was super satisfied with it. I find it just as much fun as the original, and love showing it to people.

Jessica Harper slays as Janet. I know she's such a different character in this, but I'd have loved to see her take on the Janet of RHPS.

Either we're embracing death or giving it a run for it's money.
