Well, I'm impressed. :)

Music is one of those things I love but don't really know much of anything about. I did take piano lessons for a while as a boy (I can't quite remember how that came about but it was probably because I envied my older sister's ability to play) but didn't stick with it. There was something about learning to read music that I found very difficult -- I was never much for 'discipline' of any sort.

The first time I ever felt "artist envy" was going into a professional recording studio in the 1990s. Things were becoming computerized then but hadn't yet become as available to the average consumer as they have now. I was blown away by what this one guy could do! I'd already come to feel that in many ways "painting" was quite an antiquated art form but this really put me over the edge. Now people are producing images and music and movies in ways that were never possible before, or limited to only a very few people. All this is very interesting to me.

How do you see yourself as an "artist"? That may not be the right way to phrase the question but I'm not exactly sure how to ask to find out what I want to know. I mean, I see myself as a "painter" in a historical context (a tradition, I guess you could say) that stretches from the present back through time to archaic people decorating their skins and shamen painting on cave walls. Within that I've staked out my own niche, have my own particular interests and have paid attention to some of my immediate predecessors and contemporaries and what they did or are doing. So, how do you see yourself -- in what kind of creative context? (If that makes any sense.)

How do I see myself as an artist?

I don't and can't see myself, so,
I can only go by what is reflected back at me,
from my works, which is my play.
Though, "play" isn't quite the right word,
and "passion", doesn't really fit either.

I remind myself that everyone is, in someway,
better than me, so I look at everyone with
that in mind, especially in the arts.

I want to make something that has never been done or, thought of, before.
..and I think have, and will again, and again.

I don't agree with the slogan, that there is nothing new under the sun.
Has the best art already been painted?
Have all the best songs been already written?
Have all the best ideas been already been thought?
No! Not yet, nor ever.

I used to think, that if you were good at what you do, you could get to the top, but, now, I know, that if only if you were liked (and fit the agenda) at the top, you would be allowed and helped up.
Thankfully, with the internet, this is, hopefully, no longer the norm.

Anyhow, here are my thoughts about the official government theory on the events of 9/11.
...or, for that matter, the theory of human caused global warming,
...or, the imminent theory of the return of planet X,
...or, the official theory of continental drift...
...or, farm land in the Hale crater on Mars...
...or, the theory of shape shifting lizard beings...
...or...

To discover the lunk opinion on any, or all these theories, please play the attached audio file.

This was an interesting creation:

A friend and I were jamming bass and guitar, after my friend, read some words at random from a dictionary, which I later edited all together into a piece of music. This stayed this way for months.
Somehow, I became aware of the great awakening that was occurring from 9/11, and in reaction with this, put together some video clips, I found on the internet, mainly concerning the methods of destruction that must have been used to bring down the Twin Towers. It needed some music, so I picked this track.

What is astounding, is the random coincidental words fitting and timed, so well, with the video.
Just chance,
...I guess.

This last piece is excerpts from Alan Watt
talking on his show, CuttingThroughtheMatrix.

I was listening to his show the other night, and going through my old recordings at the same time, when
something meshed, I did some minor editing and
came up with this. I don't know what to call it, but it sounded good to me, so I emailed Alan, and got his permission!

Sorry, I'm having trouble containing my enthusiasm
but I'll try my best and just say, hope you enjoy my "art".

That took a long time to mix...

I need a cigarette.

I know what they say,
but there are GMOs in our food and
plastics are being added, by approval,
to ingredients in our food, they are spraying
chemicals in the air, and saying Mercury is good for you.

Yet, all this hype about how bad smoking is.
...but, could there be another reason?

How to make a concentrate:

I first find a nifty little tune,
Then I mix it with a potent aspect of a talk.

Then I post the tiny mp3 edited mix
as an attachment, to my post with this code:

Code:

[flash=400,27]http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3247397568-audio-player.swf?audioUrl=http://209.85.122.85[/flash]

(thanks! JFK)

I need to direct the url in that code, to my attachment that I haven't posted, yet,
so, to find that out,
I post reply,
and immediately edit the same post, to find the url of that attachment, now uploaded, then, I copy/paste the newly discovered url of that attachment, into the code, and post the edited reply.

I feel, like I'm a branch.
And thought, the branch was me
Just one of many branches.
But really, I'm the tree!
