someone elses cd key most likely wouldnt work. when you install a game, it has a certain code in it that you need to play it (most games). if you dont have the right one, what do you think will happen? cd key doesnt connect to the internet to check every cd key in the world. there is ONE set key. same goes with the SOF 2 missing key thread you started. if it was something as easy as putting numbers and letters in, you would be just putting random numbers in. |

All CD-Keys work for the same game. It's done using algorithms. Certain algorithms create a set number of results (it's all done uing graphs and where lines cross axis') so all CD-Keys for a certain game will work on any copy as they all follow the same algorithm. Make any sense? lol |

Don't get me started with CD-Keys, I had a bad experience with Steam and my HL/CS CD-Key once. |

I forgot that the first ever copy of CoD I had was a busted one off my cousin Roger! We always hit problems as he joined the same server as me... same key = kicking! lol. Needless to say, we both have our own copies of CoD and UO now. |
