I was watching the news and in New York, they found a notebook at McDonald's. They said it was found folded up, seemingly as a result of falling out of someone's pocket. It said that the person who wrote it was 15 years old and was attempting to cause a "chain of acts of terrorism". It said he was troubled, going through mixed emotions, and was suspended from school at one point for being a possible threat of unwanted violence. They confiscated his computer and found evidence that he was in the process, or trying to purchase weapons. It showed that he wanted to purchase an Uzi, an AK-47, and 5 pounds of Black Powder. None, however, of the purchases were actually sent through. It scares me to think that things like the Columbine High School Massacre still go through the minds of some people in school. The sad thing is, is I know a few people in my class that go through this and might be a possible suspect of one of these "threats". Also, in the notebook, there was a quote that the person wrote saying "I will pull the gun on the cops, then myself". Exactly what happened in Columbine. What are your thoughts on this case? |

The sad thing is that this kind of thing is becoming the normal. Not to mention he is doing this for attention. I say we lock up all crazy ppl like Micheal Jackson and John Mark Carr, ect and up them in nice padded rooms where they cant hurt themself or anybody else. =[Problem Solved]= |

Web, I said it's nothing compared to VT. My friend had a cousin who was shot in Columbine. But 8 deaths versus 33 is pretty bad |

Human life is human life.. You can't say 33 is worse than 8. Human life is irreplaceable and priceless. Therefore if one human dies or is killed its an equal loss if 100 die. I don't think either one of those was any worse than the other. Murder is murder whether its 33 people or 8 people. Each event was just as tragic as the other one. I don't think we should be spending our time debating whether or not one was worse than the other but focus on how we can prevent these things from happening. I agree with GFD's statement about this bad shift we've taken as a race. All aspects of society are contributing towards these "delinquencies" and "crys for attention" , not just parents. If things are going to change for the better certain aspects of our culture really need to be inspected. All forms of media, for example, I believe have contributed heavily to this. Our children are constantly bombarded with messages from television, music, etc which instill a since of self righteousness within them. Even parenting has become difficult because you can hardly discipline a child without being referred to as child abuse. I believe a lot of parents are at a loss as to how to raise their children due to pressures of society. You can't even spank a kid anywhere nowadays without someone calling defax. Everyone should just wake up and do what makes sense... not what is acceptable by societies standards. late night rambling stinks seeing as this paragraph is very unorganized and i'm too lazy to fix it... |
