The Lonely Seas is a collaborative group project composed of one main plot with a series of interconnected character plots interjected throughout. It all takes place in a fantastical setting on a planet flooded with water, with various islands spread out over the seas. The main protagonist is indeed a self insert of me. But that's fine because some of the point of this project is to show how to pull off a self insert in a correct fashion, if one were to attempt for one at all. He is taken away from this depressing life in the "real world" and is swept away into the fantasy world. I look forward to planning and working with you guys for this. Let's make this the best it can be, alright? Main plot ----------------- It begins when Owen is shot in a stairwell at his school. While he is slowly bleeding to death on the floor, the Blind Man suddenly appears out of nowhere. He takes Owen and transports him from the "real world" to the fantasy world that is the Lonely Seas. Owen awakes on a forgotten beach on a forgotten island. He explores the island, and comes across the Blind Man. The Blind Man takes Owen into custody, and forces him into a cave, where he makes him find a sword and take it from the cave. Owen is cursed by the sword, because an evil spirit resides in the sword; a Dying Man shard. The Dying Man shard "connects" with Owen, and intertwines their souls together so Owen can't drop him and leave. Because of this, no matter how much Owen wants to, he can't "die." This is all apart of the Blind Man's plan. Owen is not the first "hero" to be created by the Blind Man. There are a whole bunch of others the Blind Man has made, that are out among the Lonely Seas, hunting down the Fears. The Blind Man kicks Owen into a boat, and orders him that his duty is to go off and kill the Fears, one by one. If he does not comply, the Blind Man will never set him free from his curse and allow him to die, and he won't ever set the Dying Man piece free from the sword unless the Dying Man succeeds as well. So this is why they are forced to cooperate together. The main plot continues on from this. It's divided into sections by "Fear". The rough draft version of the order Owen goes in to kill each Fear. The black dog The intrusion The nightlanders The choir The convocation The eye The smiling man The plague doctor The rake The frozen king/cold boy EAT The wooden girl The slender man The archangel The dying man The blind man The quiet Each Fear has its own area/set of islands that are affected by their influence. Each Fear has their own dungeon that they lurk in. It's the hero's duty to enter each dungeon, solve the puzzles inside them, and kill the Fear. But it isn't that easy. Not only does he have to deal with the Fears, he has to deal with other antagonists on the seas too. For example, the "Empire" and the "Rebellion." The "Yuelun Empire" is an imperialist monarchy that occupies many islands on the planet. They are currently trying to occupy as much territory as possible; they want to some day control the entire world. The Empire is controlled by the King, who is (spoiler ahead) the head Dying Man piece. The capital of the Empire is located on the biggest island of the planet. They are surrounded by tiny satellite islands designed to protect the main land. The "Soleison Rebellion" is a democratic coalition of islands that aim to stop the Empire's imperialism. Their territory, day by day, grows smaller. The Rebellion is basically everywhere that the Empire isn't. They both are involved with "magic users", people who are able to manipulate and use magic. The Rebellion, for the most part, is tolerant and even supportive of magic users, while the Empire views them as "sins that must be vanquished." There is more to the planet than what you see on the surface. In the end, the petty conflict between the Empire and the Rebellion means nothing to what is to come by the end of the plot.
