“And with that, the third annual Martial Arts convention comes to a close here in North City. Come back next year to once again study the depths of various martial arts techniques in greater detail, and learn from the brightest and best minds in order to participate and succeed in the wonderful sport of Martial Arts. This tournament, held in honour of Son Goku and Hercule, would like to thank the special analyst here, son of the legendary warrior Goku, Son Gohan!” the announcer said. After a few minutes, Gohan had grown quite bored of listening to people thank and congratulate him. While he was happy that the convention had been a success he had little to no interest in sticking around for the proceedings. Waving away people apologetically, Gohan reached down to pick up his briefcase and within the blink of an eye he had vanished from sight. All of a sudden, he was sweltering in the sun under his blue suit. There had been a lot of promising people with good technical ability at the convention, but analyst work was easy when it came to finding a fault in the defense of everyday practitioners because they frankly weren’t very good. Still, he had helped where he could and that was what mattered. It was hard to think, though. The sun was scorching and his face burned as sweat gleamed from his forehead, and hot wind rushed through his hair and made his eyes water. It was like being trapped in a furnace. Throwing his briefcase into the air as he flew along, Gohan quickly took off his jacket and rolled up the sleeves on his white shirt, before tugging off his tie and catching the suitcase once more, quickly opening it and stowing his clothes inside. Closing the latches, he shot off in a burst of white energy that splashed off of his body, quickly disappearing into the distance against the backdrop of the blue sky. In a matter of moments, Gohan was back at Mount Paozu, seeking something he hadn’t seen in a month. This is what it had cost to help a few budding martial artists – his partner, Videl. As the days had passed his heart grow more and more disturbed until he began to question his role in the first play. Was being a so-called ‘scholar’ truly such a charmed life? Gohan wasn't so sure anymore. The door flew open, and with beads of sweat dripping off of his face, in walked Gohan. Placing his briefcase carefully on the nearest table, he proceeded to take off his shirt, now that it was soaked in sweat, and grab the nearest glass he could. After five cups of water, he groaned and rubbed his eyes, standing up and using his keen senses to locate his wife. Locating her in the lounge room, he strode forward and stood in the doorway, looking down at the silhouette of the back of her head in the dark room. “I’m home, Videl.” WC: 501 TWC: 501 |

Hearing the noises in the front room and kitchen, Videl assumed it was Pan just getting home and went onto reading her newest martial art's book her father had given her, that he had written. She more or less was reading it to see what new bullshit her father had been giving the people of Earth, but surprisingly this book made a lot of sense and was well written. Videl giggled at the thought of her father writing this, she knew perfectly he was probably rambiling on to a real writer while they wrote the book for him. Videl sighed as she stood up from the couch to suddenly hear her name. Her heart stopped for what seemed minutes, she inhaled and held her breath as her eyes began to water. "Go-Gohan..." She whispered as she then built up the courage to turn around to face the intruder. She let out her breath in a high pitched gasp and dropped the book that was still in her hands as she covered her mouth. She didn't say anything, she just merely whimpered as her eyes filled with tears. "Gohan!" She cried out as she ran over to her husband with her arms out and latched onto him. She rubbed her face into his chest and then nuzzled her cheek into him. She wanted to stay like this forever. Although he had been gone for a month, not being able to talk to him in all that time due to the both of them being so busy, really had taken a toll on her. But having him here now and with her was all she needed. Videl sobbed into Gohan's arms while she incoherently cried out how much she had missed him. "You're h.. You're home now!" She whimpered. |

"You're h.. You're home now!" "Yeah, I'm home now. You don't need to worry, and I'll tell you something. I don't think I'm going back next year. It... Doesn’t feel worth it. You'll have me here all the time, whenever you want. That is, of course, if you'll have me,” the half-Saiyan said with a wry grin before his wife grabbed him and wrapped her arms around him. Gohan couldn’t help but blush as he felt Videl nuzzle into his chest, but his heart sank as he noticed the tears running down her cheeks. A small smile sneaked its way onto his face as Videl sobbed into his bare chest. "Jeez, you'd have thought I died. C’mon, you have me back, and we can do anything you want! I promise, even in this heat. I’m good for anything.” Silence took over the scholar as the only sound of the room was broken by the slowing sobs of Videl, and after a few more moments had passed, Gohan stood over his wife with his hands massing her back and running through her hair as he held her gently, waiting until she regained control of herself. It had been a long time, a month was far too long for two as close as Videl and Gohan to be apart, and having the woman in his arms again, the warm, loving connection that sparked with life and joy between them was indescribable. Gohan was so happy to be back. In one small movement when he thought Videl had settled down, he brushed his fingertips down her arms before picking her up and swinging her around with a giant smile on his face. Leaning in, his lips met hers as Gohan lowered his wife to eye level, allowing his black irises to stare into her beautiful blue eyes. There was a longing feeling, like a knife in his heart had been removed but he still wanted to be closer to her despite having her in his arms already. For some reason, her eyes were just drastically more mesmerising and beautiful than he remembered. Offering a quiet word of comfort, Gohan kissed his wife again, this time ever so slightly harder as he whispered into her ear. "It'll all be alright, Videl... I promise. I love you. Are you okay?" Her sobbing slowly faded into sniffles as she felt his lips press against her's. All she could think about was how good it felt to be held again, as silly as that was to her, to feel so weak that she needed to be held by a man to feel strong, but that wasn't the case. Videl was strong and instead, Gohan's presence made her even stronger. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss before they both pulled away for air. As Gohan held her at eye level staring deep into her blue orbs she couldn't help but feel like a young girl again as a blush tinted her cheeks. She was silent, she didn't have anything to say, she merely wanted to enjoy this moment of pure happiness. Videl studied the man's face, he looked tired and he looked the same as he did before he left, although it had only been a month. But that month to Videl felt like a year with Gohan absent. How she did love him so. Videl, growing up never fancied boys at all, but it was Gohan who changed her, it was Gohan who made her into the woman she is today. He's the reason that she loves the way she does, and is so passionate about everything. Her eyelids closed slightly at the memories of the two together in their teens, her most fond hought was of Gohan teaching her to actually fly. Never before had she felt so accomplished or determined to get better than she did having Gohan as her teacher. And he really was all around her teacher in her life as she was the loyal student. The woman lifted her hand and brushed her fingertips against his cheek while smiling, "I'm fine but I missed you... A lot." She spoke softly while she stared as his lips then nose and then eyes, "I love you so much..." She replied as she embraced him and rested her head against his chest once more, "I don't really want to do anything right now, I just want to be here with you, at least for a bit." She murmured into his pectorals before she smiled and kissed his bare chest. |

A small red tint crossed Gohan’s cheeks as he felt Videl’s lips against his pectorals. “I want to see something. Don’t worry, we’re going to be here together, I promise. We’re just going outside.” Scooping the woman up in his arms, he carried her back the way he came into the scorching sun, before letting her down in their front yard. It only took a few seconds for the heat to tingle Gohan’s skin with a slight burning sensation. “Watching all those kids fight, I figured something out. I… don’t know if I’m happy as I am. That was always a fate my mother tried to push me into, my father never wanted it and for the longest time I didn’t want it either. I was always trying to get out of doing work by going with my friends or my dad would bail me out, but then… I met you, and we settled down. And I’m happy in that regard, we have a beautiful daughter who is simply amazing, and I love both of you. But why am I wasting my time doing something as trivial as analysing poor martial arts students when I have a wife and a daughter?” Clenching his right fist, he looked away from Videl and glared at the ground. “I wasted a month away from you, and I promise I will never do that again. I want to fight. I’m almost scared to, but I want to see how much weaker I’ve gotten. I’m going to start training again, and I’m going to be a better father to Pan and a better husband to you.” Looking up, there was a small smile on his face. It was almost playful. Opening his left palm, he moved his hand by his side, as his right fist came up to his eye line. A lot of people would be confused by his actions but the Saiyan side of him was screaming this was an act of affection, fighting with his mate and enjoying her company. It was difficult to swallow. Already, standing here in this defensive posture, Gohan could feel the years of inactivity catching up with him. There was less strength in his muscles, his senses weren’t as sharp, and his wife was no slouch, Videl would be sure to punish him if he had weakened. Although, part of him just wanted to impress her too. The Saiyan part of his brain rationalised that was being away for a month, but his human instincts were anxious. WC: 420 |

Videl looked at Gohan confused as he stood way from her and raised his hands, but as soon as she saw his weight drop back onto his back leg, she smirked as she moved into an athletic stance, legs shoulder width apart, knee's slightly bent as she went into a squat almost, she moved her right foot backwards, opening up her hips to her husband while extending her arms out. "You're not home for more than 8 minutes and you already want to get you ass kicked by me. You're just like your father." She smirked while snapping her hands forward, lunging at him and in amazing speed, attacked suddenly from behind. Grabbing the back of his neck and pushing her right foot out, and kicking his legs in as she pushed down on his neck and slammed him to the floor. Videl gasped, "Oh Wow!" She released him quickly, "I didn't think I was going to be able to do that.. I mean I thought you were going to stop me." She laughed hard and fell backwards onto her butt as she threw her head back in a fit, knowing she had put the great Gohan on his face in such a swift movement. |

The speed of his wife caught the half-Saiyan completely off guard, and in an instant his legs had been taken out from under him and he fell, face first, onto the ground courtesy of his loving wife. Letting out a small groan from the pain of the impact on his nose, he took a few moments before he could finally move. After a few moments, a small chuckle came from his limp body before Videl could see him sitting up as he innocently rubbed the back – a trait he received from his father, Goku. “I kind of had a feeling that you’d do that pretty easily. I’ve been far too lazy, and I regret that. I think I’m going to stay here and train with you and Pan. The scholar life… it was chosen for me, but I’m surrounded by amazing fighters, so I’m going to regain my old strength!” The half-breed declared, clenching his fist in a display of determination. Standing up, he was still a little unsure of himself considering the impact had messed with his senses. A few moments passed and he was able to steady himself, eventually giving his wife a thumbs-up and laughing once more. Making his way over to her, he reached out and stroked her cheek, unable to keep the smile off of his face. “And you! I’m sure you’ve been practicing, you’re much faster than you used to be – and you hit like a truck!” Having now seen the results of his experiment, he was more determined than ever to train. But for now, the sun was hot and his wife was beautiful – he would keep her company, and while it was just the two of them, it would be just like she wanted. Taking her hand, he nodded back towards their home. “Let’s go, I’m sure there’s lots you have to catch me up on.” Leading her back inside, he chuckled once again and twirled her around as if they were dancing, catching her arm while it was wrapped around her midriff and pulling her into a warm embrace. “I missed you. I can’t believe I was stupid enough to think I could last a month without you – I don’t think I could last a week, even!” Gohan finished his statement as they reached the lounge room, where he happily collapsed onto their sofa, pulling Videl on top of him. The sofa material felt horribly uncomfortable against his skin but he didn’t care, right now there was one thing that mattered – the set of bright, beautiful eyes he had missed so desperately, that he didn’t dare break contact with. “So, tell me… What have I missed?” As Videl spoke, Gohan absentmindedly ran his fingers through her hair, just smiling that goofy smile, thinking in the back of his mind about how exciting the next few months were going to be. No commitments to work or anything superficial, just his wife and his daughter. WC: 492 TWC: 1,798 |

Videl sat blissfully with Gohan, as she went on to ramble about what he had missed. In the long run he didn't miss too much, in the short time that he had been gone his father returned to earth, Pan was training harder than ever and surpassing Goten at times as well as Trunks in Sparrs with her excellent mentality that played in greatly with fighting. Videl herself had taken up training more as well as helping her father design a new hotel he hopped to build in East City next year. Videl was completely content in that moment and truly enjoyed talked her husbands ear off. She loved that he was back, and she felt almost blessed to be able to have things return back to normal. Although it had only been. Month, Videl was worried Gohan being away would have changed him, but did the exact opposite. The black haired beauty smiled softly as she sighed and looked at her husband with a longing gaze. She chuckled and went down onto his chest, and laid her head against his pectorals, nuzzling as she inhaled his natural scent and listened to his beautiful heartbeat. "Your heart is beating so fast right now, sounds like I could dance to it!" Videl teased as she say up slightly and smacked his chest playful with a grin glued on her lips. |

Wow, Gohan thought he had not missed much but the way his wife was talking someone would have thought he missed literally everything. The half-Saiyan just smiled and listened, hanging onto every word with his full attention. It was really exciting just being with her again, this was one of the things he had missed the most in his time away. Their eyes met, and though he might have mistaken it but he could have sworn Videl was looking at him like she wanted to be closer to him. Oblivious as he was, he just held her close to his heart and enjoyed the warm she brought to him, in more ways than one. What Videl said and did next earned a small chuckle and a wide, innocent grin from Gohan. “Of course my heart is beating fast, you’re lying on top of me! You can dance to it but…” Those ebony eyes met hers and he gave her a small, teasing grin in reply. “I don’t think you can hear it that far away.” There was no pain where Videl had smacked, rather he was focused on that grin, knowing what his wife was like better than anyone, he still had no idea what she could be planning. “Why do I get the feeling you’re planning something terribly evil?” The half-breed mused while stroking his wife’s hair. Videl sat on Gohan's lap in silence as he spoke to her. She merely just listened to his soothing voice with a smirk, relaxed, feeling at home. Her eyes skimmed his body, as she mentally felt release staring at him. There was just something about her husband that made her feel so perfect, so right. Videl couldn't tell if it was his stupid hair or his dorky smile, but more so his aura and Ki. His Ki was so uplifting and almost protective; as if it was wrapped around her at all times. The blue-eyed girl smiled softly while caressing her lovers cheek,"I'm not planning anything. I'm just... Letting everything fall into place right now." She smirked as she pinched his cheek and lowered his face towards his, "Although, you do deserve some sort of punishment after leaving your poor wife home alone for so long!" She almost spat at him. |
