Taoranran allowed one of her eyebrows to raise up in curiosity when she heard Sol ask her that question. So, he wanted to know whether or not the information she had that was based on her being hired to do more illicit deeds for the King's Guard was confidential, did he? How cute, that he was actually fishing for information on this deal she had going on with the King's Guard. Well, to be quite honest, she wasn't actually told that she couldn't give anyone this information after she accepted the deal, for quite a bit of money, mind you, but that didn't mean that she was just going to dispense that information freely.

After all, she was being paid quite a bit of money to be on their payroll, and she wouldn't like it if her source of payment was cut off because she was being a blabber mouth. If Sol wanted that information so badly, he would need to fork over quite a bit of money first. While she had no loyalty to anyone outside of the Crane School, her Uncle Shen, and her parents, that didn't mean she was going to stab an investor in the back after they paid her quite a hefty sum of money when they hired her.

In response to his question, she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head in the negative. "It's not exactly confidential, but I'm not willing to dispense the specifics to you for free. After all, I'm being paid quite a fair bit for my contributions to the King's Guard, so I'm not gonna just give the information away, especially on the off-chance that my paychecks come to an end because I was running my mouth too much. If you want that information, either get it out of one of your colleagues, or pay me a hefty sum" she said to him.

When Sol mentioned that incident where Roshi had hit her Uncle Shen with an Energy Wave after those traitorous bastards Tienshinhan and Chiaotzu up and abandoned the Crane School adding insult to injury, Taoranran's young face settled into a dark, bitter, hateful, angry scowl filled with malicious intent that really made her features seemed rather off-putting and unnerving. Sol bringing up that incident had touched a sore spot within the teenage Assassin, and she wasn't likely to let it go, considering it involved three people she happened to hate with a particular venom that, if anyone could read her thoughts at that moment, they'd be shocked by the sheer amount of hatred she was feeling at that point in time.

"If I was around back then, I would have inserted a knife into that old man's back when I had the chance. Roshi is a worthless lecher, and a disgrace to Martial Arts Masters everywhere, just like that moron Hercule Satan. When I find him, which I certainly will one day, I shall make sure his death is particularly gruesome, even if I'm not paid to kill him" she said with that scowl on her face growing just a bit larger.

As he listened to Taoranran explain her terms for giving the information. It didn’t surprise him he understood giving away such information would be like setting money on fire for the assassin. It could also potentially harm the king’s guard were they to turn away the services of a clearly competent martial artist even if what she was doing for them was as questionable as he suspected.

“No worries.”

As he listened to her rage on about Roshi and her plans to kill him. The cyborg while not surprised by the sentiment as he had heard it earlier but he did seem a bit concerned. He knew Roshi wasn’t a slouch and he had trained at least three of his allies. All of them were pretty strong and he wondered if anyone of them would be happy to know that their master had died. He decided to interject and expands on his thoughts on Roshi’s style it wasn’t for him but he’d seem people get excellent results from it.

“I wouldn’t go so far as to say he was a disgrace to martial arts. His martial art might not have been for me but I’ve fought alongside some of his students in my fights with red ribbon army base most of them were pretty good and one of them was insanely strong.”

As the cyborg continued it seemed less like he was trying to talk her out of killing the old master and more like he was warning her. He could tell that as she was now trying to talk her out of killing him would be a waste of time and possibly get him in a pointless fight. He decided it might be best to warn her of the inherent danger of fighting Roshi and his students. While she was so furious about the old man right now, it seemed possible to Sol that she might re-evaluate her grudge in the time it took to prepare to kill the old master.

“Hmm you best be careful, considering how long as he has lived, he’s survived a lot of fights and that likely includes assassination attempts. He has a reputation for more than just his perverse behaviour; it’d be unwise to dismiss it. There’s also the face that when I left his school, it was about as active as the crane school is right now so he’ll probably have a lot of students to watch out for.”

Hearing Sol's response to her refusing to enlighten him on the details about the types of jobs that she was being asked to do by the King's Guard, Taoranran's posture relaxed a bit, which would indicate to Sol that she had been prepared to fight him, as if she was expecting him to try and force the information out of her. Now that it was clear that he wasn't going to do that, though, she, quite clearly, relaxed, though her cold, guarded expression did not go away. It was an obvious indication that Taoranran was very detached from others, and wasn't really all that friendly, considering her rather casual hostility in their conversation so far.

"Ah, so you're smarter than you let on, considering you did not try to force the information out of me. You'd be surprised how often I get that during these types of deals. It's good to know that not everyone on this planet is infected with deadly, unfathomable stupidity. You'd be astounded as to exactly how common that is" she said to him as a smirk slowly slithered onto her face, enhancing the deadly, malicious glint in her eyes to enhance the menace that was plain for Sol, and anyone else in the area, to see.

When Sol said that Roshi wasn't a disgrace to Martial Arts, Taoranran raised an eyebrow, realizing that she didn't really go into specifics as to what she meant by that. She was well aware that Roshi was an excellent teacher and knew his Martial Arts, that was something she would acknowledge with no problem. To say that Roshi wasn't a good teacher, or that he was an idiot when it came to Martial Arts, like that moron Hercule was, would be profoundly stupid to say. He was clearly an excellent teacher, considering he had students like that wretched Son Goku and his brood of misfit friends.

"Oh, I'm not denying that he's a good teacher, and that he knows his stuff, unlike that brainless, mouth-breathing oaf Hercule, I'm not denying that at all. No, when I meant that he was a disgrace to Martial Arts, I was talking about his attitude, and his general perverseness. He acts in a really unprofessional, stupid manner, and Martial Artists should have a certain amount of pride, self-respect, dignity, and the like, and act in a respectable manner, which Roshi does not" she said to Sol, clarifying what she meant about Roshi being a disgrace to Martial Arts.

Sol went on to caution her, tell her to be careful, and explained some things about Roshi that she already knew, like how since he's been alive for so long, he's more than likely survived a few assassination attempts. Oh, she was very sure he had, but that wouldn't stop her from trying to kill the lecherous old coot. That, and Sol said that when he had been there, Roshi was busy with other students, which meant that she would need to find and kill all these other members of the Turtle School to make her ambition of wiping out the entire school completely a reality.

"Oh, I'm going to be careful, no need to tell me. That's one of the things you need to do when you're an assassin, be careful, take your time, wait for the right moment, as well as many other things. It's not like I'm going to just rush at him blindly and try to kill him in a rage. No, I'm going to be slow, methodical, and wait patiently for the right moment. These kinds of things need to be planned for, after all" she said to him with a smirk on her face, seeming very confident about what she wanted to do to Roshi and his students.

Sol looked a bit bemused by Taoranran’s comment, it was the first time anyone had really said he looked stupid even in such a roundabout way. The cyborg shrugged it off, killing the bandit more than outweighed any backhanded compliment in his eyes. He seemed a tad bit surprised to see her posture relax he wondered if she had intended on fighting him if he tried to push the matter. The cyborg was interested in fighting her at some point but not under antagonistic circumstances.

Between her casual insults and very strategic posturing, she seemed very cautious of her actions and distant. She likely wouldn’t have given the cyborg the time of day if he hadn’t complemented her skills earlier. It was true that Sol himself was watching what he said around her but this wasn’t out of a desire to avoid offending someone who had done a great act in his eyes.

In a way she reminded him of another Crane student he had met in the past, one that had rather handily beaten him and his best efforts. He too seemed rather distant from people but where he thought that might have been due to his shyness, in Taoranran’s case it seemed it possibly seemed to be more a case of elitism. The way she spoke so lowly of the people of the world it seemed she fancied herself superior. It was a sentiment rather alien to the cyborg that held the lives of others far above his own.

“I’ll choose to take that as a compliment. I don’t have any interest forcing the information from anyone especially when I can probably find it from within the king’s guard itself.”

Sol had some clout within the king’s guard he did after all help their army defend West city back when it was one of the few remaining cities under their control. He was confident he’d be able to learn of the Taoranran’s contract either from his superiors or fellow “consultants” he had worked with in the past.

As the assassin explained why she considered Master Roshi so disgraceful to martial arts community the cyborg had to admit that the crane student had a point. Although he found himself practically biting his own Tung to avoid mentioning the crane schools own major disgrace by bringing a weapon into the world martial arts tournament. The end of the day even if he felt it was more disgraceful he wasn’t about to speak badly of another person father to her face, it just wasn’t done.

“Ah I see your point, I remember when I first sought out Roshi for training, I went on about being prepared for any test while he was silently asleep. When he woke up in the middle of my speech, he thought I was trying to kill him. Now in fairness Master Shen asked me to kill someone that owed him money before he’d agree to train me but that’s to be expected with an initiation into an assassin style school I suppose.”

As the young assassin accepted his warnings and explained her actual methodology, Sol was quite impressed. He’d always preferred fighting his opponents using tactics rather than relying on brute force. While killing was abhorrent to him, the way Taoranran described her methods seemed far more appealing than simply stabbing someone in the back when there not looking.

“I see to be honest I’m more interested in the aspect of the crane’s teachings that allows for you to dominate your opponent in open combat rather than the assassination aspect. I have to admit though that sounds far more tactical then I had first assumed.”

Taoranran nodded her head silently to show that she understood, and appreciated, the fact that Sol was not going to try and force any information out of her. She couldn't sense Ki Signatures yet, so she had no idea how powerful Sol was, so she wasn't sure how well she'd actually do against him. She had seen that he was capable of manipulating Ki, so that put him on a level unknown to her, and as such, she was being very wise and caution in her approach to make sure that she didn't get into a fight with him. While she was sure that she could take him on, she wasn't one to get into unnecessary fights.

Of course, if he tried to force the issue, she would attack and try to put him down, but considering that she had a contract of sorts with the King's Guard, she would rather not be forced to kill the man, so she was really pleased that she didn't have to resort to that. Sol had no problem with backing off, and that was just fine with her, because she would prefer to not get into any kind of fight that didn't benefit her in any way. Things that wasted her time were things she avoided, after all.

"Good to know you aren't quick to get angry and jump people because of a simple comment. You'd be surprised how often that happens with me, and how often I have to put peons in their place for getting uppity with me. It may be annoying, but I particularly enjoy inflicting pain on those who try to step to me" she said to him with a small, cold smirk on her face as her cold, chocolate brown eyes lit up with sadistic glee at the thought of hurting another living person, which would be quite unnerving to most.

Sol went on to explain how he had first interacted with Roshi, and Taoranran's response was to roll her eyes at the explanation. Typical Roshi, being a worthless moron like always. How such an idiot lecher like him actually got to be considered a respected Martial Arts Legend was baffling to Taoranran, considering his annoying attitude. If she had the strength within her, she would find the pathetic old man right now and put him in the ground for his idiocy. However, as much as she would like to do that, she knew that she needed to focus more on getting more powerful.

After all, she was going to be taking on Son Goku and the like, so she knew that she would need to get much more powerful than she already was if she wanted to even consider standing a chance against Roshi. If she could beat Son Goku, she could most definitely beat Roshi, no question about that in her mind. It would take a lot of training, though, as well as a lot of hard work and determination, so she knew that she would have to work hard if she even wanted to consider standing a chance against any of them.

"I have every intention of mastering everything about the Crane Style, both the ones dealing in Assassination and Open Combat. I tend to ensure that I have as little flaws and weaknesses as possible. With what I intend to do, I need to make sure I do that, and a whole lot more to make myself more powerful. I won't allow anything less than perfection" she said to him with a frown on her face when Sol explained to her that he was more interested in the techniques involving open combat rather than the techniques that involved assassinating someone from the shadows.

Hearing the assassin explain her annoyance over dealing with people with short tempers sol couldn’t help but wonder just how often it had occurred. From his perspective the young teen didn’t seem to be the kind of person that would get on well with others but it’s hard to say without being there how often it had been potentially justified.

While Sol’s interactions with ordinary people had been fairly limited he was a stranger to fighting easily angered opponents. His fist powerful foe colonel Grey was particularly easy to agitate.

“I’m not too surprised I’ve not really interacted with too many normal people but getting angry over words and comments like that is a weakness I’ve seen in many of my foes. This one captain of the red ribbon army practically saw his short temper as a badge of honour. I’ve seen how easy it is for that to be turned against you, so I’m not about to let myself get agitated by that sort of thing.”

After thinking about it for a moment the cyborg decided to comment on Taoranran’s apparent sadism. It was something that seemed off putting to the cyborg he had to hurt people in the past and he’d fought plenty of people that seemed intently on killing him but none them ever seemed to be enjoying it.

Sol could really get into a friendly spar get into the feeling when his opponent pushed him to bring out all of his strength but he’d never enjoyed actually harming his foe. As the questions lingered in the cyborgs mind he decided to ask that made her so sadistic, something about it seemed alien to the cyborg.

“Hmm this is an odd question but what do you find so great about actually harming your targets or foes? I don’t mean to tell you how to fight you obvious have that planned out but I’m not entirely sure you want to bring sadism into martial arts, it might be an exploitable weakness if your opponent notices it too quickly.”

Shortly afterwards as Tao began to explain her drive and dedication to mastering the crane school Sol could relate to this sentiment far more. He wanted to master Crane school martial arts to understand what made it so potent and make it his own. Though he didn’t entirely agree with her desire for perfection considering the ever changing and evolving nature of martial arts there were still many potential benefits to be had from her line of training.

“That’s a good philosophy though I think perfection in anything is unattainable goal, it’ll still help you in the long run. I’ve found some good benefit just trying to compensate for a nasty injury. For a short time I was left unable to use my hands and that prompted me to learn a variety of handless Ki techniques and four witches technique. Even now after I recovered those technique have still proven to be quite useful in a fight.”

Sol had explained to her that he had seen first-hand what it was like for your anger to be turned against you, talking about a Red Ribbon Army Captain that had worn his anger like a badge of honor of sorts, which had made Taoranran snort in derision. Only idiots would take pride in the fact that they were easily angered. While Taoranran could fly off the handle sometimes, she wasn't one to let her anger control her actions. Even when she was deeply enraged, she never attacked blindly or allow herself to be lured into ambushes. She was just as strategic and methodical in her fighting, no matter how angry she got.

"Red Ribbon Army, huh? I haven't heard that name in a while, not since my father told me that story of how someone named Commander Red had hired him to do a job for him. It involved him murdering a General who failed his mission named General Blue, for Five Billion Zeni, and then to assassinate that wretch Son Goku and take his Dragon Balls from him. I had come across them before, and had known that they had come back, but I have not dealt with them yet" she said to him, looking as if she was deep in thought.

Sol had then proceeded to ask her what she found so particularly great about harming her foes. He went to exclaim that he wasn't trying to tell her how to fight, as she obviously had that planned out, but he commented on how it could be an easily exploitable weakness if her opponents noticed too quickly. Hearing that, she raised an eyebrow at him, surprised that he would bother asking her. It was the first time that someone had ever bothered asking why it was she enjoyed inflicting pain on those she was fighting, or more commonly, trying to kill.

"It's amusing to me. Hearing their grunts, their wails, their screams, their cries of pain are most amusing, and most satisfying. It tends to fill my opponent with regret and fear when I start to inflict such horrible, sadistic pain on them. Plus, not only is it very amusing to hurt others, there's also the fact that the pain could be used to distract my opponents, and even if they are trained to block it out, the pain can momentarily distract them and hamper their movements. So, it's more than just because it's amusing, it's also strategic" she explained to him with a smirk on her face.

Sol talked about how what she said was a good philosophy, but ultimately an unattainable goal. Oh, she was very sure that she couldn't be truly perfect, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to stop trying to reach it. After all, she would need to train super hard to even get anywhere close to that. The fact that Sol lost his arms and had learned techniques like the Four Witches Technique or learning how to fire Ki from his feet was impressive, and it showed that Taoranran needed to start thinking outside the box.

"There are very few Techniques that are truly worthless in a fight. As long as it benefits you in some way to get an advantage over your opponent, or it hinders or hurts said opponent in some way, it's not truly useless. It just needs to have SOME beneficial effect for you, or detrimental effect for your opponent, to be of some worth. If it helps you on the battlefield, than it is worth using" she said to him, preaching a wise philosophy about Techniques and their worth in Battle that spoke of how well-educated and well-trained the girl was. It was truly rare to find such insight in a girl of her age, even someone who trained in Martial Arts like herself.

“The new red ribbon army has some dangerous technology behind it but their soldiers are really just a gang of thugs, mercenaries and old soldiers from the original red ribbon army. They’re losing territory right now so I’m doubtful they’ll much of a player in this war right.”

There was more than a hint of rage in the cyborg’s tone; He’d been fighting the red ribbon army or more specifically Dr. Gero’s red ribbon army for most of his life as a cyborg. But it went deeper than that for him, his origins were tied to the red ribbon army and what they had done to him and his mother or his creator Sol still wasn’t entirely sure he believed her story since he still couldn’t remember anything of his human life. Regardless it was fairly clear from that and his outright dismissal of the organization that he held a grudge against the army that almost seemed too extended beyond the king’s guards own.

“I met commander red once, he’s a bit weird for the man that used to lead the old red ribbon army. He held my….mother hostage until I robbed one of the red ribbon army’s bases of its precious metals. I’m probably going to track him down once this war is over because he mentioned something about starting another army once this war was over.”

The cyborg commented surprisingly he seemed at worst slightly annoyed when he brought up Commander Red. Despite all the trouble the old military leader had put him through they still shared the same enemy and he was just a bit too deranged in an almost silly way to completely be worth his hate.

As Taoranran went on to explain her sadistic tendencies Sol raised an eye brow and nodded as she described her point of view.

“Huh…ok.”

From his reaction it was still pretty clear Sol still really understand her point of view. He figured you’d still hurt your opponent in a fight so how did enjoying it benefit it. It seemed to be a point of view that Sol likely wouldn’t really come to understand it.

He wondered just how such a viewpoint was instilled into her, though given his own origin and the suspicions he held regarding them was it possible that he wasn’t meant to understand it? Could it be that his creator had completely cut out sadism out of his mind to prevent him from going out of control? End of the day was just another moment when he wondered if had free will or not, it wasn’t worth dwelling on for them moment.

“Yeah exactly but every technique has its benefits and alternative uses. Even the Kamehameha while it lacks the penetrating power of the dodon ray is still really versatile, you can twist the beam to redirect it in the middle of firing it though it takes a bit of practice to get it right.”

The cyborg agreed with Taoranran’s point when it came to martial arts he seemed to have the most common ground with her. While the Kamehameha probably wasn’t the best example to use, to something with such a strong grudge against the turtle school but it was either use that as an example of bring up rocket punch and his own point blank variant and reveal his cyborg nature.

Sol had commented on the state of the New Red Ribbon Army, and to be quite honest, Taoranran cared nothing for the organization. As far as she was concerned, they were part of the reason why her father had become a cyborg, because if they had never hired Taopaipai to kill Son Goku and take the Dragon Balls from him, he would still be fully human. So, as far as she was concerned, they were people that she would be happy to see gone, and the fact that they were losing filled her with joy. She would have been happy to take them, but she didn't do what she was good at for free.

If someone wanted her to wipe out of the New Red Ribbon Army, they would need to be pay her quite a lot of money to do so. Now, if she happened to have gotten her hands on one of the Founders of the New Red Ribbon Army, she would have been more than glad to viciously maim them and eviscerate them, but unfortunately, she could not do so, because the security at the Red Ribbon HQ was far too tight. So, unfortunately, she would have to leave them alone for now and let others take care of them.

"Commander Red is alive? If so, I shall be happy to main him before I kill him slowly. Commander Red had hired my father to kill a then child Son Goku and steal the Dragon Balls from him. I blame Commander Red and the RRA for being turned into a cyborg as much as Son Goku, because it was that mission during his fight with Goku that had caused my father to be turned into a cyborg in order to save his life. I'll never forgive either of them for that" she said to the cyborg with narrowed eyes.

Hearing Sol's response to her explaining of why she liked to seriously hurt her opponents before she killed them seemed to have made him understood why it was that she did what she did. The fact that he wasn't going to try and protest about why she should, at the very least, changed up her tactics, was a breath of fresh air, because those who knew what she did tended to be very resistant to it, which was very annoying. She detested those that questioned her and her methods, and those who questioned her had a tendency to die, slowly and painfully.

Sol had proceeded to go about agreeing with her on the idea of most techniques being useful, but when he provided her with an example, her chocolate brown eyes flashed in a menacing manner as she scowled in a dark, hateful manner of the mentioned Technique. "Don't mention that wretched technique to me ever again. I loathe that technique and anyone who uses it. If you wish to maintain civility with me, I suggest you avoid mentioning that technique again" she said to him in a cold hiss, showing open hatred and loathing of the signature Technique of the Turtle School.

Sol listened intently as Taoranran described the events that led up to her father becoming a cyborg. It was somewhat surprising to Sol but then again he had only an incomplete understanding of the events relating to Taopaipai, Sol had seen Tao’s unusual appearance from old photos his creator had taken but the thought that he had been actually enhanced never crossed his mind.

The young assassin seemed to hold a strong grudge against the former commander, while Sol didn’t share it; Red still had caused him a lot of trouble in the past, threatened his creator and was totally unrepentant for it. The cyborg didn’t really have any real qualms with what the assassin with the idea of the assassin taking her revenge and so figured he offer some help should the opportunity arise.

“Yeah he’s now going by the name Android 9 it seems Dr. Gero turned him into some kind of cyborg for whatever reason. He’s seems a lot larger now then what the records previously suggested. If you want when I do start tracking him, I’ll speak with the king’s guard to bring you on the mission.”

Sol couldn’t help but think about the sheer anger coming off of Taoranran related to the injuries her father had suffered. Sol couldn’t really help himself from offering his creator own help. He wasn’t entirely sure she’d be entirely willing to help Taopaipai but perhaps she’d listen to him.

“I’m sorry about your father, if his cybernetics ever needs repair or replacing I know someone that should be able to help with that.”

The cyborg was surprised just how annoyed she got when he mentioned the world Kamehameha. He knew she had a legitimate grudge with the turtle school but from her reaction it looked like she’d likely stab him then and there if he merely said the word just one more time. To his credit Sol seemed more worried about having annoyed her out of simply annoying another person then out of any sort of fear.

“I apologize I’ll refrain from mentioning that technique again. I was just trying to illustrate my point.”
