The sunlight reflected off the lenses of his reading glasses as he looked upon the relatively new city, founded by the powerful Gatz--a practical rising star in terms of the stock market, if the newspapers were the be believed, not to mention a prosperous businessman in his own right. For the most part, Gohan had been content with his living arrangements in North City, but lately, he had been considering getting a new house--and what better place to do so than in the up-and-coming city founded by wealth and prestige? To be fair, the place had less of a natural 'feel' than he was used to or he preferred, but moving into a new place always had its adjustment period--provided he found a place he particularly liked. But business matters were really the least of his worries at the moment. Well, maybe not the least--he had to find a decently-sized place to move his medical practice to, and the thought of continuing to work in another M.D.'s facility felt rather tiring to the recently-indoctrinated medical professional. Indeed, he had been so pleased with finally getting his medical license that he had made a special trip to meet with his mother--at least, this was the arranged place to meet. He had been a little short with her on the phone--mostly because he could barely contain his excitement--and he didn't want to spoil the surprise for her. While it was not precisely the profession she wanted of him, his studies and grades had found him well-suited to helping those around him, and if it was one thing he liked doing, it was helping people. Dressed in a nice suit--grey in color--with a rather stylish tie, he definitely looked the part of professional middle class, finally able to build up his lot in life. Unlike his father, Gohan found himself ill-suited to the trials and tribulations of being a professional martial artist, so he never really went down the same path as his father--but that was not to say the son of Goku had gotten lazy. Indeed, despite his well-tailored suit, it still appeared a little tight around the chest and shoulders, a sign of his regular workouts to keep himself fit and trim--old habits never died, it seemed. But enough about that--today was an occasion that was particularly important to him, and he would not ruin it by giving his mother a heart-attack by talking about his workouts. Well, that and an explanation of why he had not really shown himself for quite some time. His studies the last few months had been particularly rigorous, studying for the exams he had to take in order to practice medicine. Of all the professions he had ever really encountered, none seemed quite so mentally intensive as the ones he had recently passed--with flying colors, though he wasn't really one to brag--thanks to the constant studying he had done as a child and a teenager. That being said, he really had been rather secluded during the process of studying and taking the exams--not to mention the practical surgery he had to undertake--but after all was said and done, he was now, officially, a medical doctor. Gohan, MD. It had a rather awkward ring to it, but he hoped his mother would not mind overly much. If nothing else, she wouldn't have to worry about him being a starving college student anymore. The thought caused him to chuckle a little nervously--he was definitely due for an earful from his mother, no doubt about it. ((WC: 607)) |

![]() The raven haired mother had a beaming smile upon her face since she made an amazing haul at the the mall. It was dark outside. The shopping trip was necessary. She needed to make everyday count since her time on Earth was limited thanks to her overprotective and overbearing husband. The limo driver that had taken her to the mall was in charge of carrying her bags too. She insisted in taking one for herself, but the driver would not have it. Her skin had a radiant glow, she evoked a sense of pride for bearing her husband's child, her aura more vibrant, and lastly there was a noticeable bump on her lower abdomen. Since the moment she found out about her pregnancy, she was obsessed with getting all that she needed for her baby girl to be. ![]() She knew her child would be a girl because it was only two months prior that her daughter from the future was with her. It was strange, but at the same time invigorating. The bond the two shared was unforgettable. Not only did her daughter from the future save the raven haired mother to be from the BBA, but the Ox mother was able to help her child gain a sense of hope. Sighing to herself, she wondered how future Anju was doing. The Ox Princess missed her daughter from the future like she missed her two sons too. "You would think those two would come visit their mom once and awhile. It's not like I disappeared off the map." She thought to herself as she walked behind the limo driver who led her towards an expensive, flashy vehicle. It was a far cry from her previous life with her ex husband. The lavish lifestyle was thanks to her husband's ingenuity. He was smart much like her Gohan. The extravagant lifestyle was not why she had fallen for Gatz though. When she first accepted her husband's advancements, he was nothing more than a hoodie wearing vigilante who made it through life winning fights. He eventually made enough Zeni to build his underground, trouble-making infested fight club in which she both fought and won in. She never told neither Gohan or Goten how she met her current husband. It was for the better. Her first encounter with her husband almost ended in tragedy if it were not for her stubbornness and slap that knocked his screws loose. She recalled how he had her cornered cruelly, how she was weakened due to her depression from her ex husband leaving, and yet her fierce spirit kept her alive. The moment she struck her current husband across the face it was like the two of them connected. It was odd, yet true. The Ox Princess grew used to the city lifestyle, but she would forever be a village girl. Though she was a princess who lived at her father's castle for a large part of her child hood, she preferred the simple things in life. It was why she did not mind her years spent with her ex husband in a tiny home and in isolation. The Limo Driver opened the door for the his boss man's wife Chi-chi stopped before she entered the limo because her hormonal cravings kicked in. "Can we wait a couple of minutes? I want to take in the fresh air. I want some ice cream too." She pointed towards the ice cream shop that was across from where the Limo was parked. The limo driver sighed in frustration at her request. "Come on Mrs. Gatz. Gatz is going to kill me if you're late." He said to her because he heard rumors of what happened to other disobedient workers who crossed Gatz and didn't listen to him. Her eyes narrowed at the limo driver. "Gatz can wait. I'm sure he won't mind me getting ice cream. If he has a problem, he can talk to me about it." She ignored the limo driver's pleas and headed into the ice cream shop against his wishes. If anyone knew her, she was stubborn and impossible to keep contained. WC: 718 Edited by Bel Zephyra, Nov 29 2014, 11:54 PM.

The city had a lot to offer, that much was certain. The several hours he had been inside the city, already, had piqued his curiosity on numerous occasions, especially the various buildings he had been invited to look at. He already had a couple of favorites to choose from, in terms of where to live and where to start his own medical practice. In a few words, the city was gorgeous, expansive, and impressive--though once again, he got the feeling he would miss the feeling of the wind on his face and the sound of trees in the air. Perhaps that was just one of the trade-offs of moving into such a big city like this--you had to give up a few things to get other things in return, like choice housing and building locale for a business. He didn't really think of medical practice as a business, really, but it did make him enough money on the side to buy the nicer things--especially for certain someones. Still, most of his day had been spent looking at buildings, looking at paper work, looking at the sights, that he had completely forgotten his own meals. Excitement tended to do that to him, even in his adult years. To think, his own sense of wonderment could override his usual sense of hunger--just like when he was a kid--was still something he chuckled at. His stomach growled a little as he walked along down the sidewalk, causing a light dusting of embarrassment to fill his cheeks, despite the fact no one seemed to notice. "Well, alright. I guess I should pay attention to my own needs, huh?" He asked himself before he looked around for something to eat--and spotting an Ice Cream shop nearby. Even the food shops around here were quite impressive, as if no one dared spare the expense in lavish decorations and furnishings. It was a touch overwhelming, in all honesty, seeing everyone dressed and furnished so lavishly--a far cry from his days as a child in his old forest home and in the city he went to High School at. He stepped into the Ice Cream shop and looked upon the menu, noticing a woman had entered the building right before he did. She looked familiar, enough for him to blink a few times as he looked at the back of her head. Raven hair, slight frame, though she had a rather muscular build. It took him a long moment before he realize who it really was--his mother! Goodness, he did not expect to see her quite this soon, but... it seemed fate had other plans. When she walked up to the counter, Gohan was quick to step up beside her. "I'll have whatever she is having--my treat," he said quickly, pulling out his wallet in order to pay for their treats. "After all, she is my mother," he said, turning towards her and smiling brightly upon his matron. This would be quite the surprise for her, that much was for certain! ((WC: 528)) ((TWC: 1135)) |

![]() Upon entering into the ice cream shop that was empty, she stepped in front of the counter. Her large black eyes looked a the big menu. Her pointer finger pressed against her lips as she thought of what she wanted. The menu was an enormous one. "Whatever happened to three flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate? I don't understand why they have to over complicate everything these days." She muttered to herself. The kids of these generation were definitely more entitled than in her generation. Quietly, she observed the menu until the cashier asked her what she wanted. Her mind was made up. The vanilla with sprinkles seemed like the simplest option and one that would see her out of the ice cream store satisfied She was about to give the cashier her choice until a heart warning, yet familiar tone interrupted her. "I'll have whatever she is having--my treat. After all, she is my mother," Her eyes widened with wonderment at who had bumped into her within the ice cream shop. It was a dream come true especially because she had thought of him only seconds prior to enter the ice cream store. Her gems for eyes glimmered with a tender wetness because she was thrilled to see who it was. It was her first born son Gohan. Without regard to who was watching, she wrapped her arms around her son and pulled him into a bear like hug. Her arms wrapped around his neck in an overjoyed embrace. She hugged him so tight that she might have momentarily winded hm. "Gohan! It's you! What a surprise! My baby boy is here to see me!" She was thrilled and then released Gohan to take a good look at him. Seeing how big he got since the last time she saw him or so it seemed because he was tall naturally, she was reminded to how long it had been since he contacted her. Her eyes narrowed and in a usual manner she had a mood swing. "You would think my son would come see his mother more often." Her voice commented moodily, but after taking another look at him, she eased her annoyance and smiled. She could not be mad at him for long because he was her first born son and would always have a special place in her heart. ![]() "Well at least you're more handsome since the last time I saw you. " She pinched his cheek to unknowingly, embarrass him in front of the cashier. A pleasant giggle sounded in the ice cream parlor from a happy mother. He had to admit--the look on her face was more than priceless. Seeing his mother so happy was an utter joy to his heart, the young man leaning down to return her hug as she wrapped her arms around his neck, nearly squeezing the air out of him as he chuckled--and coughed--during the embrace. He could stand the bit of embarrassment, despite how, well, awkward it was, since he had not seen his mother in so long. Despite the fact that only the cashier was in the shop at the time, he felt like a million eyes were on them as she seemed to faun over him for the moment--at least until he noticed her eyes narrow--the second most familiar thing he knew about her. Oh, boy, here it comes... "You would think my son would come see his mother more often," she said, her mood changing a little drastically, a sign of her disapproval. Yep, there it was, he knew he wouldn't be able to get through a reunion like this without some form of comment, resulting in him smiling and laughing awkwardly at her chiding. "W--well, you see, mom, I was busy studying for my medical exams," he said bashfully and quickly, more to get his 'excuse' out as soon as possible to curb her wrath, at least for the moment. However, her good mood was not so easily dashed aside, it seemed, her annoyance soon replaced by her warm smile. That was the mother he knew so well--quick to anger, but also quick to get a smile back on her face. She was not 'ditzy' by any means, but she knew precisely when to be angry and when to be happy--a quality he wished he shared with her in full, sometimes. She took another look at him, as if taking in his tall form, dressed in his grey business suit and tie--and the reading glasses, he guessed. Sometimes, he forgot they were even on his face... Her comment about her being handsome brought another bout of blush on his face, her pinches upon his cheeks eliciting a bit of surprised yelp from him as she giggled with utter joy. "Th--thanks, mom, I appreciate it," he said bashfully for a moment before remembering to pay the cashier--making sure to leave a good tip, as if to say 'please don't spread the story around.' He loved his mother very much, but she could be absolutely embarrassing at times--and right now was one of those times! "Like I said before, I apologize for not visiting you more often--I was rather busy studying for my medical exams. That was why I wanted to see you today," he said, retrieving a piece of paper from his suitcase that he carried, showing her his newly-printed medical license and diploma. "I actually came into town looking for a new place to live as well as a building to start my practice at. I had no idea you would be here, though!" He said, once again, unable to get that nervous smile off his face. ((WC: 526)) ((TWC: 1661)) |

"W--well, you see, mom, I was busy studying for my medical exams,... I actually came into town looking for a new place to live as well as a building to start my practice at. I had no idea you would be here, though!"" Chi-chi gazed up at her son as he went into explanation as to why he was in the city. She listened to him intently and a sense of pride came over her when he mentioned he studied for his medical exams. The fond memories of her forcing him to study even during times where the world could end. She realized now that she was harder on him than Goten which sometimes made her feel guilty about it. When she gave birth to Gohan, she was an inexperienced mother who had to learn how to be a mom without help. She had no mother of her own to seek for guidance sine her mother passed shortly after she were born. Gohan was a learning experience. Despite how hard she was on him, she was proud to see that he became a fine, young man. He was not only smart, but he was strong too. What she wanted for Gohan was to have a normal life. With this, she sometimes became over protective and nagged him to focus on something safer. It was wrong of her. She wished she could take those harsh moments back because she realized now that the family tradition in fighting was as strong in him as it was with her. When Goten was born, she made sure to instill that tradition in him as well. She smiled widely and tilted her head in fondness. ![]() "I'm proud of you son." She said with a gentle, admiring tone. The fact that Gohan didn't know she now lived in Gatz's Haven caused her to laugh nervously because she had no idea how he would react to the changes in her life. It was her turn to be embarrassed. Glancing at the cashier, she realized they were in for a long one, but the fact that he was planning to stay in Gatz's Haven brushed those fears and worries aside. "Does this mean you will be staying here? " Her voice brightened at the thought of her son being close by. "I would be so happy if you stayed close to me. You're in luck too! If you want to open a practice here in the city and if you need a place to stay until you find one, then you can stay with me. I know someone who can get you the office you want." She didn't specify who she was talking about. It was not like her discretion would help. She paid the cashier for two ice cream cones and handed Gohan one. Suddenly, the limo driver barged into ice cream parlor. He looked anxious. "Mrs. Gatz I don't want to be rude with you, but I don't want to get in trouble. Mr. Gatz made it very clear to me that you were to be home almost 5 minutes ago. I don't want to get fired so if you would do me a favor, please get in the fucking car." He cursed unintentionally. Her hand pressed against her forehead when she was addressed. Narrowing her eyes, she took a lick of her ice cream before responding. "He can wait! It's only been 5 minutes for goodness sakes. We will just tell him there was traffic. Oh and please watch your language. My son is right here." She instructed with seriousness. WC: 620 TWC: 1,790 |

The sight of her mother's pride and approval was incredibly calming for him--he wasn't sure what kind of expectation she had had of him when he left for college, and he certainly wasn't sure if his chosen profession would bring a smile to her face, but all in all, it looked like he pulled through all right. The very tone in her voice was rather calming, the young man always appreciative whenever his mother approved of what he was doing--despite going against her wishes so many times as a young boy. He never really realized it until recently, you know, just how much he had given her heart attacks and stress attacks from going out on his wild adventures. Well, those were long over now, the boy becoming and man and settling down with a profession, trade, and life. It felt oddly good, really, to have come all this way--a feeling he very much enjoyed, causing him to relax his otherwise awkward smile and expression. "Does this mean you will be staying here?" She asked, causing Gohan to nod his head to her. "Of course I will, mom. This city is so big and word has gone around that it's looking to expand--and that is exactly why I am here. I don't want to get nailed down in other towns--I want to be where all the activity is at!" He explained, though she was quick to explain that he could, potentially, live with her until he found a place of his own, causing him to blush with embarrassment again. "Oh, well, not that it would be a bad thing--I certainly wouldn't mind--but I have enough to cover the down payment for a house here in the city, so there's nothing to worry about that. I will be close by, though--I think I've already decided on a place to stay, just haven't found the right building to set up at," he said, more in response to her invitation to live with her for a little while, as well as the invitation to help him find the right office. To be fair, he was rather doubtful she knew anyone with that much influence--except for her father, of course--at least not enough to find him an office so quickly and finality. At that moment, a well-dressed man came in, a look of absolute nervousness and anxiousness on his face. Gohan could almost feel the man's state of distress, especially as he tried to coax his mother into going into the vehicle with him--by the looks of things, he was her driver. "Wow, mom, I didn't know you had your own drive--" he started to say, pausing mid-sentence as his eyes went wide with absolute surprise, his glasses nearly falling off his face until he remembered to put them back into place with a nervous grip. "M--mom?! How do you know THE Mister Gatz? He practically owns this entire city!" He said, oblivious to the curse the man had uttered earlier. He can wait five minutes? It was almost like she was the real authority around here, not the multi-million zeni man that had practically built a city and wealth almost overnight! He was all over the papers as practically the biggest star in business! "You certainly have quite powerful friends," he said to his mother, albeit with a lot of disbelief and surprise in his voice. He looked over at his mother, who seemed incredibly serious with her orders towards her driver. "You sure you should keep someone like that waiting...?" ((WC: 610)) ((TWC: 2271)) |

"Oh, well, not that it would be a bad thing--I certainly wouldn't mind--but I have enough to cover the down payment for a house here in the city, so there's nothing to worry about that. I will be close by, though--I think I've already decided on a place to stay, just haven't found the right building to set up at," Chi-chi returned to her son's comment at hand before he was rudely interrupted by the limo driver who cared more about getting her home for his job reasons than for her safety. Her black eyes gazed up at him. She should have known that he would negate her offer to stay with her. He was an adult now which meant he probably did not wan to be living with his mother. She nodded at his statement. "Okay son, but remember if you need anything, don't be afraid to ask. I will always be your mother and you my baby boy." She teased because even as a grown man, she considered him a baby. It did not matter to her how old Gohan, Goten, or Anju grew. They'd always be her babies. The ice cream almost melted at the next question Gohan asked because it put her on the spot. He sounded both shocked and in disbelief that she knew the owner of the city. "M--mom?! How do you know THE Mister Gatz? He practically owns this entire city!" Her cheeks blushed noticeably. Awkwardly, she played with the ring on her finger. How would she even begin to answer her son's question? Could she go with the simple truth? How would he react? There was so much he had missed in her life recently that she could not even begin to explain. {Is Gatz THAT famous? I had no idea even if the city is named after him. It's probably that ego of his. His ego could have its own planet if it wanted.} She thought to herself. "You certainly have quite powerful friends. You sure you should keep someone like that waiting...?" The Limo Driver grew impatient even after he was scolded at by Mrs .Gatz. He overheard the kid who was apparently her son. He didn't ask questions. What he wanted was to get the stubborn woman to get into the limo before he got hurt. "Gatz is waiting for you, and I sure as hell don't want to get killed because you were late." He sounded anxious. Sighing to herself as she was now put in a situation where she was forced to answer straightforwardly, she glared at the limo driver and responded. Gohan made it seem like she would be scared of any powerful individual. He should have known by now that she was scared of no one. "He can wait. " She said repeated herself and her eyes narrowed because she could handle her husband who was quick to get tempered if he didn't get his way. "My HUSBAND can wait." Her attention turned back at Gohan after she indirectly revealed the truth. WC: 529 TWC: 2,319 Edited by Bel Zephyra, Nov 30 2014, 01:40 AM.

Once again, the well-dressed driver spoke up, apparently quite afraid of his employer. It was not all that difficult to put two-and-two together to realize he was under the employ of Mister Gatz. The man had a rather... abrasive reputation. He had shown himself numerous times on news reports and paper articles that he was not a man to be crossed. For a moment, Gohan was curious if the man's fighting level was particularly high, but so far, the only power levels he could really feel were his mothers--which was a lot higher than he had really expected it to be, to be frank--and the latent life energy of the people in the city. He couldn't find any other particularly strong power levels around, but that could mean anything--maybe he was just in an area that was hard to detect that sort of thing. Not to mention, Gohan did not exactly train his spiritual senses all that much. Even now, he could feel that his ability to sense energy was a lot less than what he used to be able to do, but that was neither here nor there--what was important was the situation right now. His mother seemed a little nervous about the whole discussion--despite having offered him anything he needed, due to him being her child. He figured that was the response she would give him--he was her first born son, after all, so he could understand a bit of attachment in that regard. Still, after the moment of anxiousness, his mother put her authoritative look on once again, telling the driver that he could wait--that her husband could wait. Now that was absurd. His father, Goku, was her husband. Looking down at her left hand, he saw the marriage ring and everything. Certainly, she was not talking about the same person--WHY WAS THE RING DIFFERENT? He had to blink a few times as he looked down upon her hand, realizing that her wedding ring was drastically different than the one she wore when she was with his father. What was going on here? Had they--No, of course her and his father had a falling out. That explained why she still wasn't at the old house in the wilderness, why she was living in this grand city. He felt confused, irritated, and sad all at the same time, and the concern on his face was rivaled only by the surprise on his face. He felt like he was going to have a heart attack from all of these surprises! "M--mom, you're married to Mister Gatz?" He asked, though in a way, he already figured out the answer. He forced a smile on his face all the same--a smile that did not seem to reach his eyes, hidden by his spectacles reflecting the light in the ice cream shop, as if to inadvertently mask the emotion in them. What she did with her life was her own decision, of course... maybe it was just painful to find out quite like this. What about Dad? What happened between her and him? A million questions ran through his head, and each ended up with the same answer that he could come up with. 'Maybe... she had had enough...' he thought to himself, looking over at the driver again as if he could not immediately meet his mother's gaze. He took a deep breath before nodding to the driver and then looking back towards his mother. That's right--nothing would change her status as his mother. Nothing would change the status of his father either--but this was hardly the time or place to try and carry on such a conversation. But it was a conversation he was going to have with her, sooner or later. He didn't like being kept in the dark like this--perhaps he was now feeling the exact same thing she had a little earlier ago... "C--Congratulations, mom," he said, trying to force as sincere a smile as he could as he looked down at her, only now noticing the small bump on her belly. He forcefully pulled his gaze from it, looking back up to her face--the same face she always had since he was little--and nodded to her. But, there was the issue of the driver as well... certainly, Mister Gatz wouldn't kill the man for her being late, right? .............right? "Maybe I have a solution," Gohan said, looking between his mother and the driver. "How about I go with you? I could meet Mister Gatz myself and it would prevent your driver here from going into hysterics, mom," he said, feeling a little better about the situation by doing something a lot more constructive than standing there worrying about questions he couldn't answer. At least not yet. There would be plenty of time for that later, and besides, it was possible much of his questions would be answered by meeting who was, essentially, now his step-father. As odd of a term as that was. "Would that be alright?" He asked his mother. ((WC: 870)) ((TWC: 3141)) |

"M--mom, you're married to Mister Gatz?" Her head nodded once at Gohan's question. She was not ashamed to admit that she was married to Gatz, but she did feel guilt for Gohan's blunt discovery. His brother reacted in a similar way except Goten could not understand it. To this day, his brother was against her marriage to Gatz. She loved Goten, but she realized that her whole life had been dedicated to satisfying their goals and dreams. After Goku left her to train an unknown boy and her two sons were essentially grown men, she felt lonely. Not only did she feel lonely, but she felt unfulfilled. It was Grandpa Gohan who first told her about how she was "more than what she became" after she was almost assaulted by a delinquent named Torn. At first, she was reluctant to believe Grandpa Gohan's comment about her that there was more to her that met the eye. While she did feel something inside of her, she was never pushed into looking further. She was trained by her father to an expert martial artist, yet there was more that her father, himself, did not know. Gohan was proof of it. She was too blind to see it when she was young, naive, and in love. It was true that his father was strong and that Gohan got his incredible strength from him, but there were times she recalled seeing Gohan's hidden power. In those moments, she felt a connection with him and one she could not explain. Eventually, her path crossed with Gatz where she saved him from being controlled by an tyrannical organization. He too made her feel that she was special and that she had lost herself in a marriage with a man who never supported her dreams. It was in those months that Gatz and her had fallen in love. Briefly, she lost her memory shortly after they were married, regained it, and then it was discovered that the evil organization that Gatz worked for was after her. The organization wanted her as a weapon, but why? This was a question she had yet to be answered. There was no resentment towards her decision in life. When she supported her family and sacrificed her complete happiness, it was done with pride. There was more to her that she discovered throughout the months. Essentially, she wanted to become her best self. She never felt happier now that she was remarried to Gatz and baring hi child. While Gohan seemed to be handling it well, she sensed his despair. It was masked by his usual, nonchalant expression. He could not hide his disappointment from her. She was his mother. "C--Congratulations, mom," "Thank you son." She replied with a calm tone, but she was not convinced by his congratulations. "Maybe I have a solution, How about I go with you? I could meet Mister Gatz myself and it would prevent your driver here from going into hysterics, mom," s. "Would that be alright?" A loud crash was heard outside which caused her black eyes to glance out the ice cream parlor's window. It had only been five minutes, and he was already searching for her. Her eyes closed when she realized that the startling sound outside was her husband's gun going off. There were a couple people who screamed at the attention grabbing BANG! {Oh boy here we go.} She thought to herself. Licking her ice cream, she looked like she was reasonably calm because she was used to his behavior. As for Gohan, he was in for a surprise. "There is no need dear. He is already here." She responded while licking her ice cream. The Limo Driver's face turned blue when he heard the loud gunshot. Then he heard shouting which alerted to him who it was. "OH FUCK!" He did not want to deal with the angry boss. In desperation, he began to run towards the back where he thought he could get away. WC: 701 TWC: 3,020 Edited by Bel Zephyra, Nov 30 2014, 02:29 AM.
