It was... weird, to say the least. They seemed so similar, in more ways than one. She had parents that raised her to be polite and respectful, just like his mother had instilled upon him at an early age--reinforced by the experience that was high school. She was modest about her studies and achievements thus far, but was more focused on the work she wanted to do, rather than rest upon her own laurels. And neither of them were interested in recognition--only in making sure things that needed to be done, got done. It was a rather uplifting experience, really, knowing that there was another a lot like him out there, that knew the same struggles and knew the same burdens he did. They were still different, of course, but the similarities seemed to only be enhanced when the differences came up, really. He looked back up at her eyes, looking away from the table and the empty napkin in front of him, the only sign of him eating anything were the small crumbs of the cinnabun he had eaten, his coffee half depleted. When she went on to explain that she, too, had studied martial arts, it was like they had shared a life--similar, but different, of course. Gohan doubted she battled killer androids in her youth. "Wow, that's... that's quite the coincidence," he said, his smile bright, almost like finding a new friend amidst the fog of doubt. "Guess we both know how to work hard and train hard, huh? No wonder we ended up where we are now," he said, finally looking away from her eyes to look down at her lips for a moment before he immediately focused his attention back on his coffee. What was that? That was... nevermind. "Don't worry--I won't let you or any one else down when it comes to my medical practice. I didn't come this far just to fail the very people I want to help, whether it be you or anyone else that comes to me for help," he said, rather surprised there was someone so similar to him in so many ways. He highly doubted she made it a routine to help save the planet again and again, but she seemed like she was on her way to do that anyway. "World peace--That's a goal I could get behind," he said, just loudly enough for only Jocelyn to hear it. He seemed to stare intently into his coffee cup before taking another drink, looking up towards her with an interest and intent. This was someone he could see being friends with for a long, long time. He nodded to her as if to affirm it silently. "I guess we just got wrapped up in our studies, we just decided on our own what was fun and what wasn't. I can't imagine all that loud music being good for one's ears anyway," he said, letting out a chuckle about it. It still felt weird to talk to someone about all of this, though--especially to a complete stranger. Yet he felt something akin to a kindred spirit in her, and now that he was here thinking about it, her spirit energy did seem rather strong. Perhaps this was what he was desiring all along--another friend in a wild, crazy city like this? That certainly lifted his spirits quite a bit. "Once this whole lease agreement with Mister Gatz goes through, I'll be able to treat all kinds of people and injuries--probably a lot of the fighters that end up going to that colliseum of his. But I promise to make time for you, Doctor Addison, whenever you need it," he said, nodding to her with a determined look on his face--but not out of desire, but as if he were making a promise to her and to himself. "This is what I've felt was my destiny for a long time--helping people. When I was training in Martial Arts--" again with the flashback, his fights against Nappa, Vegeta, Frieza's minions, the monster himself, the androids, Cell, Buu... everything kept trying to pull him back to a time when he was one of the strongest of warriors. That time was behind him now. "--I felt like I was learning to hurt more people than I would help. It never felt right to me, no matter how good I was." He sat up straighter now. "But those days are behind me--a brighter future is ahead of me, and I know a bright on is ahead of you, too, Doctor Addison. I can feel it--you're meant for great things, and it will be a priviledge to see you accomplish them. I'm sure of it," he said, offering her another compliment and token of his appreciation. He might not ever see her again after today--who knew what life had in store?--but it was enough for him that he got the chance to talk to her, to vent his frustrations through just conversation, rather than straight fisticuffs. He felt on top of the world again. "I very much appreciate the time we've spent here," he said, finally finishing his coffee. ((WC: 888)) ((TWC: 6513)) |

Such striking coincidences over and over, it was like they were a match made in heaven or something. Or on somebody's death list. What if he was sent here to make her feel at ease with a uplifting warm story that made them feel connected. Was that his way of softening the blow of chilling death? She had to shake those thoughts from her head, it was beginning to become a ridiculous game at this point. She could be here all night with 'what if' scenarios that would lead her round and round in circles. She decided it was probably best to let those thoughts no longer linger in her head, save herself the hassle. "Yes indeed. I don't believe in giving anything less than my one hundred percent focus or it's not worth doing. If I'm not giving my best then what's the point of even trying? If you're not putting out your greatest effort every time then you're submitting sub par work, and that's no way to live." She said, in response to his comment about them both working hard and training hard. His next statement was a profound one, almost like a promise. She let a small smile cover his lips as she nodded her head. "Well then, sounds like you know what you're doing. I expect big things from you then Dr. Gohan. You mustn't disappoint." She said with a little giggle to let him know she wasn't entirely serious, but a part of her was. "Well yeah, world peace is a necessity in this world we live in." She said, stating it without including the condition their planet was currently in. "Oh I know how to have a good time. It just depends on who I'm with and what time of the year it is. A little loud music can be good depending on your setting." She said, not mentioning the events, charities and gatherings she went to as a Doctor. There were all kinds of things she attended, and when she saw a familiar face that she knew she tended to have a pleasant time, although most of the time she had to admit that those things were a total bore. She was having a pleasant time with this Gohan character and she had to admit, even if he was a killer he knew how to be very caring and listen well. It was then that he said something that made her spider sense tingle...er, I mean her senses tingle. He mentioned Gatz, and not just called him Gatz he called him Mister Gatz. It was a formal way of addressing him, like he knew him or something. Was he really his land lord? Or was he the man that sent Gohan to kill her!? She was rather noticeably nervous for the rest of Gohan's dialog. Nodding her head and being really quiet. She gulped as she felt a wave of impending doom wash over her. This was it, this was really her final moments left on this Earth. That last bit of his sealed it. He just revealed who his boss was and he was sent here to kill her. At least in her head, that's the way this whole thing had been going in her head at least. She swallowed hard again and then noticed he said something. "I very much appreciate the time we've spent here," she let her eyes fall to the floor. Was that the final message? Was that her last words? She sat there for a second, then a couple more then realized nothing was happening. She looked up and her eyes went wide as she realized she was being rude. "Oh! Yes! It's been a very pleasant time. I've enjoyed myself thoroughly! Heh heh." She said rubbing the back of her head then nervously shot up to her feet, pushing the chair out from behind her to the next table nearly. "Guess I should be going. Oh what wonderful weather we're having, guess I'll go for a walk!" She said, rather fast. She began to walk away and hoped she could get out of the coffee shop and then make a b-line out of there. Maybe she could lose him in the crowd or by crossing into oncoming traffic. He couldn't be that powerful, right? WC: 719 TWC: 4329 |

Giving everything his all... yes, that was what he learned when he was training with Piccolo for the first time, training with his father back on Earth, and now, studying to be a good doctor. That was what the android had meant--the haunting visions of his dreams. It was not a warning, well, not as much as Gohan thought it was, but a caution, an encouragement. He had lost no one else so far--he had not let anyone down or let anyone die since then. It wasn't a warning of things to come--it was a reminder to keep doing what he was doing. A great weight seemed to lift off of him as he sat back up, pulling his shoulders back again--he had a reason to stand tall. Yes, he failed his mother in not being there for her, having to rely on Mister Gatz to save her. But now, he could stand proud--he was doing something about it, being close to his mother and loved ones, actually contributing to the family again. This was what he was meant for--to keep doing his absolute best when it came to his life. That was what Android Sixteen was trying to say, reaching beyond the digital grave he was in, this was why he was led here--to meet Doctor Addison, for her to remind him--without being direct about it--what he was supposed to be doing. A firm look of determination crossed his features again, his empty napkin and coffee cup almost completely forgotten. "Trust me--I won't disappoint you, Doctor Addison," he said seriously. "Whatever I can do to help further a peaceful world, I will do it--you can bet on it. I'll make sure no one is disappointed in me again," he said, lifting his empty cup up to his face, only realizing now that it was empty. He looked over towards her after her comment about knowing how to have a good time, and he believed her--he was quite enjoying himself now, so to meet her in a less formal setting would probably be quite joyful! He made it a point to invite her to a party or something the next time he caught wind of one. Maybe something regarding a fundraiser or something... he remembered one of his professors saying something along those lines. He had never really given it much thought until now, and a fundraiser would probably be an absolutely great idea. At that moment, however, she seemed flustered and concerned about something, immediately standing up from her seat. She seemed to be in a real hurry, but rather than tell him why she was in a hurry, she stated something about the weather and taking a walk. He raised an eyebrow towards her, tilting his head ever so slightly in confusion. That was... quite the awkward way to end a conversation, that was for sure. However, just as she crossed the shoppe to open the door, she would find Gohan instantly there--impossibly fast. He had to admit, the suit was a little restrictive in terms of speed, but he didn't even realize how fast he closed the distance until he was standing there, holding the door open for her like his mother taught him to do for a lady. "You have a good day, Doctor Addison," he said, a warm smile on his face as he bowed his head. A look of realization came across his face before he pulled something else from his pocket--a business card, extended out towards her. "If you ever need anything, Doctor, please, don't hesitate to call me. Like I said, I'll make time for you, whenever you need it," he said, nodding to her in a comforting way. She had places to be and didn't seem inclined to explain it, so he left her to her privacy--they had just met that day, and it would be rude to intrude upon her business, after all. "Be careful out there--the city is still just as rambunctious as ever," he said, noticing the first rays of daylight start to pour out from the horizon. It was hard to see the sunrise in a large city like this, but the brightening sky was cheering him up all the same. Everything about this encounter seemed to cheer him up--like a lot of unfinished business was being concluded. Save one. He still needed to talk to his Brother and Father. He needed to get answers from them, and he was going to get them, one way or another. "The sunrise is beautiful," he whispered, though it was still loud enough for her to hear if she was still there. "I think I'll go watch it. Would you like to join me? I can show you around the city." ((WC: 813)) ((TWC: 7326)) Edited by ScorriaGohan, Dec 12 2014, 12:23 AM.

Jocelyn looked behind her to see if Gohan was still there or if he was on her tail. It appeared he wasn't there, where did he go? Did he slip out the back to get his gun? Was he gonna circle around the front of the store with a gang of his thugs with fully automatic fire arms and rain down on her a bloody onslaught? She tried to push the thoughts out of her head as she turned her head back to the door and there he was. How on Earth did he get there so fast? She couldn't even see him get in front of her! How was he so fast? I guess he was serious when he said he trained in the martial arts. Nobody moved that fast, at least...nobody she had ever seen. Jocelyn stopped in place and stared at him wide eyed. She was dumb founded and realized just how screwed she was. If this guy could move that fast without her even knowing then she truly was out of her element. There was no telling what moves this guy had in his arsenal and it was only a matter of time now before he locked in the death grip and brought her life to an end. "How...?" She gulped, she hoped this would be a painless death. Well, at least she could die knowing that she lived to be a nineteen year old college graduate who got hired by the New Red Ribbon Army. Sure she didn't manage to achieve world peace like she wanted but at least she got close, right? Jocelyn nervously inched towards the door as he spoke, first he told her to have a good day. She nodded nervously, trying to be polite. She was in front of him now, inching towards the door. Before she could make it out Gohan offered her a card. It said his name on it, and it said M.D. on it. Well either he went to a lot of trouble to make his alter ego as a doctor as full proof as possible or he was really a doctor. She felt a little more at ease as this was a relaxing sign. She let her tense shoulders drop a little as she bowed her head. "Of course, Dr. Gohan. If I ever need anything...I'll let you know as soon as possible." She said with a smile, she blinked several times after he warned her to be careful as the city was rambunctious. Was that his way of saying the city was dangerous or that he was the danger? Either way it made her suspicious of him...especially how friendly he was being about it. A total gentleman. If by some chance he was being a genuine nice guy, why to her? Was it because of her status? Was he really another horny fool? He muttered something as she continued to try and walk past him, thinking she had the go ahead to leave. "I think I'll go watch it. Would you like to join me? I can show you around the city." She stopped in her tracks and then looked at him. Was that an invitation to watch the sunrise right there? She decided that this was to be her final resting place. A nice quiet spot with a clear view of the sun and then death. But he did offer to show her around the city. Perhaps before her death she could transmit some photos to the New Red Ribbon Army, possibly leaving the clues on her body could be found...if there was anything left of her body that is. It was inevitable though, she thought she could out run him but thought about it some more. She didn't want to die running away. That creeping sense of fear washing over you like a wave in the ocean as you waited for the shot that would take you down. If she was gonna go, she wanted it to be peacefully. She bowed her head, her face look defeated but she tried to put on a happy demeanor. She'd continue to play this charade with Gohan. Perhaps there would be an opportunity that would present itself and she could make her escape. "I would like that a lot actually Gohan. I haven't seen the sun rise in a city in quite some time. It would be an excellent change of pace to be honest." She stood up straight and then gestured for him to walk out the door. "Go ahead, show me the way." She said, her eyes searching his eyes for an answer to when her death was coming. WC: 775 TWC: 5104 |

She seemed rather surprised by his impressive burst of speed--to be fair, he had not wanted to startle her so much as he had, but on the same note, he wanted to make sure to be polite to her all the same. Letting her get the door for herself would have been extremely rude after such a nice and civil conversation between them--that and his mother would have been furious if she found out he was not the perfect gentleman he was taught how to be. And that would have been a devastating blow to him all the same. Granted, he was a lot older now, but it felt like her simple disappointment was a greater hurt to his heart than any physical blow could carry--at least for him, anyway. However, his face lit up a little with a big smile and bright eyes when she accepted his invitation. "Oh, R--really? Excellent, trust me, you won't be disappointed," he said, waiting for a long moment until she actually asked him to lead on. Well... normally, he was supposed to let the woman through the door first, but if she insisted like this... He had a rather sheepish look on his face for this breach in protocol, nervously leading the way despite holding the door open for her, but he made sure she didn't have to touch it on the way out. Once they were outside of the shoppe, he looked over to her and nodded his head. "Pardon me, Doctor Addison--you might want to hold on to me. Trust me--this won't hurt a bit," he said with a nod of his head and pleasant smirk on his face. And with that, he gently wrapped an arm around her back, supporting her as his feet left the ground, carrying her with him--provided she did not put up a fight or struggle or anything. The last thing he wanted to do was cause her some distress, but the sight from above was more than reason enough for the slight discomfort. With that, he flew them both through the air, the distance between themselves, the people, and the cars below started to grow rather rapidly as they scaled up into the air. Gohan kept an eye out, spotting a particularly tall building nearby and raced them towards it. Not too fast to cause her panic or injury, but enough to show his eagerness to see the sight before it passed. While just a little cooler amongst the rooftops, it was not uncomfortable--at least to Gohan, anyway. If she needed the extra warmth, he would offer her his coat all the same. Once they were at the proper elevation, Gohan eased the two of them down onto the tall building's roof, letting her down gently onto her two feet. "Easy there," he said with a bit of caution in his voice. "First time for everything, huh? Hope the trip didn't startle you," he said cheerfully, as if he was used to this kind of thing all the time. He looked over towards the East, the clouds on the horizon painted with brilliant golds and yellows, framed with a stunning orange as the sun started to rise up above the scape, the marking of a new day--the makings of a bright future. Up here, it seemed like one could reach up and touch the clouds, the breeze warming up with the presence of their celebrated star. All at once, with the sun practically raising itself from its own bed, so too did the city, the artificial lights ebbing away to give way to new activity throughout the city, painting the grand, concrete jungle in a more natural and beautiful light, rather than light made by human hands. Gohan stood there, silently watching the sunrise with his hands in his pockets, a look of joy on his face as he observed the miracle before him. "It's stunning, isn't it? I always love watching the sun rise..." ((WC: 685)) ((TWC: 8011)) |

Gohan told Jocelyn she wouldn't be disappointed, oh how could imminent death not be disappointing? The two of them seemed to be juggling at the front door, neither one of them sure which to go first. She told him to lead the way because she felt she would be safer behind him. At least, she felt he couldn't push her into oncoming traffic that way. She followed him outside and looked around at the crisp morning that had already started to bloom all around them. The air tasted fresh, the feeling of the moisture of the early morning dew filling her lungs. It felt refreshing compared to the overpowering aroma of coffee that once filled her nostrils. "Pardon me, Doctor Addison--you might want to hold on to me. Trust me--this won't hurt a bit," he said. Her eyes opened wide as he wrapped an arm around her back and gently pushed her up against him. Her massive chest pressing against his chest. She blushed a little from the fact they were so close. But why? Why were they so close, she almost felt like pushing away and getting him away but she was too swept up in the confusion of why he wou-AHHH!!! Their feet were no longer touching the floor! Gohan began to lift them off into the air and fly into the sky. The ground below got smaller and smaller and Jocelyn's insides began to feel like they were being shifted upside down. She felt like she was about to faint. She flailed her arms a little bit in rejection of being lifted off into the air. This was how she was going to die. Lifted up into the heavens and dropped to the Earth below to crash into Earth like a meteor. She could see the headline now. "Genius Scientist goes Splat." She lowered her head, she thought she was going to be sick. She felt the air get colder as they ascended, the air levels thinner up here. Jocelyn and Gohan touched down on a roof and as soon as Gohan released her she nearly fell over. She held her hands on her knees and was squatted for a second. "You mean you do this to girls often?" She said referring to his first time remark. She felt like she was gonna be sick. Luckily, she had stronger fortitude and was able to keep her coffee down. She shook her head as she looked up and saw the radiant sight before her. Crimson orange with gold and yellow hues were so brilliant you'd argue they were painted into the sky by an expert painter. She was left breathless for a moment, staring at the sight with a wide mouth. She was left in awe of it's beauty when Gohan decided to speak again. "Stunning...yes. Breathtaking really." She said in response. Her eyes falling on Gohan, he wasn't trying to kill her immediately. Maybe he really was being genuine. Maybe he was just a really kind doctor that liked to show girls that beautiful skyline of the city in the early morning to get them to see his soft side in the newly birthed light. She decided she was done with playing coy any longer...she had to know what this guy's intentions were. "So...why here? What's the reasoning behind bringing a pretty girl up to the top of the city, showing off your ability to fly and the sharing of coffee? Are you really just showing me a good time or is there something more to this?" She asked, a look of curiouser and curiouser concern coming over her face. She hoped she didn't blow it then and there and just ended her life. WC: 618 TWC: 5722 |

Even as they stood there, admiring the rising sun upon the horizon, the light around them filling more and more with the oranges and golds of their star, as if the entire world was suddenly basking in the raw warmth of life, he still felt a little bashful about bringing her up here. It was apparently her first time flying--well, probably in this manner anyway--and he kept kicking himself internally for not warning her properly before hand. For a bit there, she looked rather pale before she regained her glowing complexion. She artificial lights of the coffee shop really did not do her justice--here, in the brightness of sunlight, she looked positively glowing. He made it a point not to look overlong at her, once again feeling like those eyes of her held the depths of the ocean. Still, they seemed to both be enjoying this rather special moment--albeit, it was something that happened every morning, but it was nice to at least share it with someone all the same. However, things would take a rather strange turn... She spoke up, asking why he brought her here, of all places, sharing coffee with her and showing off his ability to fly. He rubbed the back of his neck, looking off towards the sunlight instead of her, rather embarrassed. Was he showing off to her? He did not really think that was what he was doing, especially to a random woman he had just met. Was he? Well, apparently he was, even unconsciously, since she seemed to think he was just being a show off in front of her. Well... that certainly was not his goal with this whole thing. "What more would there be?" He asked, arching an eyebrow in confusion. "I mean, what other reason would there be? We just met, but I feel like there is a connection we share--at least, that was what it felt like in the coffee shop. So I figured, hey, why not show her something she probably doesn't get to see everyday? Seemed like a good enough reason to me," he said, trying to explain himself and the situation that had developed. Maybe he had been just a little too forward from all of that. "To be honest, I had a rough night last night--someone to talk to was just what I needed to cheer myself up though, and for that I'm thankful, Doctor Addison," he said, smiling at her for a moment before his eyes drifted downward again. His gaze immediately snapped towards the horizon, a bit of blush on his face as he continued to rub the back of his neck. "You, ah, might want to adjust your outfit though. I guess the flight displaced a few things," he said, noticing her showing a bit more flesh than when they were in the coffee shop. Not so much as to be indecent, of course, but it was more than she had been earlier. And he really, REALLY did not want to be seen as lude or crude. He took off his overcoat and handed it towards her, his gaze still set on the horizon. "If it's a little too chilly up here, take my coat," he offered her before he continued on. "But to answer your question, I guess yeah--I wanted to show you a good time, show you around the city, and generally just be a good person, you know? That's what people do for one another, right?" He asked, as if not entirely certain of it himself--he felt so childish when he said it like that--but he pressed on with the sight of the sunrise. He pointed towards an impressive structure in the distance. "That's the colliseum, where some of the best fighters on the planet gather to fight in Mister Gatz's tournaments. My hospital will be right next to it, the diamond-looking building beside the stadium," he then pointed to probably the tallest structure in the city, thankfully not blocking their view of the sunrise. "That's Mister Gatz's personal office building and apartment. I've never been inside of it yet, but I hear it's incredibly lavish. The main light district is there, where most of the high-class shopping is done. Residential is off to the far North and South of the city. The rest of the city is really just big buildings of commerce and industry, really. My head starts to spin when I try to memorize everything, though," he said before he picked out a peculiar sight. From their angle, it looked like a large lot that was devoid of buildings. "Down there is the main park for the city. It's rather large and pretty beautiful, if you don't mind the sound of cars and people all the time. It has a pretty wide lake as well. Off to the west is the golf course, though I don't think Mister Gatz has played golf in his life--he probably would get too impatient for it," he said, continuing on with the tour--and indeed, the city seemed so much different from up here, rather than on the streets--you could see the buildings for miles around. The way he looked at her, it was hard to describe. There was like a sense of longing. Perhaps not for someone to share a bed with, but something more. This man looked like he had faced some hard times recently, and the weight of his eyes on her made her sense that he needed someone to listen to him. The way he had poured himself out so far, whether it was a ruse or not was really heart felt. She felt like she had gotten to know this man very well. He had let her in on some of his personal life, what with his growing up with studying the martial arts and the like. It felt like this wasn't a ruse, could it be he was telling the truth? "I just assumed there was an ulterior motive is all." She said poking her two index fingers together. She looked down, feeling somewhat foolish that she had gotten so worked up. I mean, there was still a chance she'd be in trouble but at how the charade was going so far, it appeared she was wrong. "But I'm glad I could help you through a rough night. Guess I should get a degree for the field of Psychiatry, huh? I'm listening." She said with a little giggle at the end, giving her best impression of Dr. Frasier Crane. It was then he brought up that her clothing had become displaced. She looked down and realized that her chest was a little more exposed then she would have liked. She grabbed her bra and shirt in between pinched finger tips and pulled it up so her cleavage was back to modest instead of outrageous. Well as modest as someone with the size of her chest could muster. She bowed her head in disappointment. "I apologize for the free show. I hope I haven't embarassed myself too much." She said as he offered her his coat. Jocelyn took the coat and wrapped it around her shoulders. She shuddered a little as she adjusted to the new warmth. Gohan went on to further explain why he did the things he did, she nodded at his response, "well you have been an astounding gentleman. I thank you very much for being so kind." She said with a smile. Then he began to point at a structure in the distance and began to explain what it was. Her eyes gleamed as she reached up to her micro camera on her coat's sleeve to turn on the recording device. She was not going to miss an opportunity to get the full scoop on this city. If this guy was paying out the big secrets then she was gonna cash in. He explained what everything was in little detail, but even the smallest amount would help. She couldn't believe this guy was handsome and useful. You never really found that trait in a man all too often. "So is like Gatz a friend of yours or something? You seem to refer to him as Mister a lot. Is that like you guy's things for each other?" She said with a tilted head before remembering to thank him, "I must thank you for the tour, from up here it's so much quicker than walking to every destination. I get to see and know everything there is to know! Thank you, thank you Gohan." She said before turning to him. "How could I ever repay you?" She said with a certain allure in her eyes. Something about this guy was incredibly endearing, he was a smart man, and he had a knack for taste. Sure it was a little nerdy, but she liked that in a man. WC: 620 TWC: 6342 |

He scratched his head, feeling out the various points his hair tended to spread out in. He really should see about finding a barber at some point in this city--managing his hair always seemed to be more of a pain than one might think. Still, what kind of ulterior motive would he have, anyway? Was she worried about being kidnapped? He would never do that to someone, no matter the circumstances. He just was not raised that way, nor did he believe in that kind of reckless and illegal activity. He was always taught to treat women with respect and courtesy, and he did not plan on deviating from that one bit. His mother would be furious with him otherwise, and honestly, the idea alone made him feel rather nervous to begin with. Still, he supposed they still lived in that day and age where attractive women like her had to worry about things like that. She was still rather young as well, so maybe crooks liked that kind of thing? He had no idea about it, honestly. He chuckled a little bit at her joke about getting a degree is Psychiatry, but he appreciated the gesture all the same--she was glad to help him out when he needed it, and to him, that was all he really needed. Just someone to get the bad feelings out of his system and get the good ones back in, and so far, she was doing a great job of that. He could see her being a really good friend, but... that was probably too presumptuous of him. They only met today, after all, so maybe calling her a friend right now was too forward. Maybe if they met another few times, he could start to regard her as such, but 'acquaintance' was just too cold of a word for him, and 'friend' did not really seem appropriate yet. He'd rather come off as friendly rather than cold, that's for sure. When she apologized about the 'free show,' he shook his head, the dusting of red upon his cheeks still there, despite the cold. "I should be the one apologizing--it was probably because of me it got all disordered to begin with. I just don't want to appear as perverted or anything," he said as politely as he could, still keeping his eyes away from her until he was certain she corrected the wardrobe malfunction. And it was true--had he not flown her up here, her attire would have been just as pristine as she was, though he quickly dismissed the idea. There was no reason at all to be thinking such things, even if she was rather beautiful. "I wouldn't be embarrassed about your body though--you look very healthy and in-shape for someone your age," he said, nodding to accompany his compliment. He only turned around when she complimented him on being a gentleman, the blush on his face deepening a little bit. "Oh, ah, it's--it's nothing, really, just how I was raised, is all. I can't stand the idea of treating someone with anything other than respect and courtesy--the idea just seems so foreign to me," he said bashfully, looking down at his feet for a moment before looking back up at those lustrous, blue eyes of hers. At that moment, he placed a hand upon her shoulder--not tight or forcefully, but gently and comforting. "It is I who should be thanking you, Doctor Addison. You've done me a great service by talking and listening to me--It's been a great experience and you've helped me get a lot off my shoulders. I appreciate it, but I should be the one asking if there's anything else I can repay you with," he said, not missing the allure in her eyes. She was quite charming and beautiful, but he kept his distance for now, his hand retreating back to his pockets before he looked back out at the cityscape. "Was there anything else you were interested in seeing? If it exists, I'm sure this city has an equivalent. As for Mister Gatz and I--well, he's currently married to my mother, Chi-Chi, so he's part of the family now--not that I get things handed to me or anything. I had to," he said, pausing for a moment as he remembered the brutal night he first met the man in person, "earn the right to practice medicine in this city. He is not a very... accomodating man," he said, a little gruffer than he meant to, but he was quick to replace the smile on his face. "Besides, I was going to get a building to practice medicine here, one way or another--it's just easier, I guess, that he's family now, huh?" ((WC: 820)) ((TWC: 9732)) |

"Well you're far from a pervert. You've been the perfect gentleman, if they wrote a text book on how to be a gentleman, you'd be on the cover." She said with a smile and a nod. She kicked one of her legs out in a small circle in front of her like a nervous child. "I hope I haven't spoiled the magic too soon." She said, referring to the obvious chemistry the two of them shared. Sure he appeared to be a lot older then him, there was something about it that made it all the more appealing. Young men were always about one thing, and one thing only. Perhaps that's why she reacted the way she did, she was just used to hormonal kids her age that were all about one track minds. The kind of time they wanted to share with Jocelyn left her nauseated just thinking about it. It's not to say that men twice her age hadn't tried anything. As a matter of fact, at fundraisers she usually had to fend them off with a stick, luckily not literally, but she felt like it sometimes. Her face began to turn several shades of red as he complimented her health and shape, it was about as flirtatious as he'd been. She couldn't believe it, that was about as forward as he'd been this entire time. It was different, but something about it felt odd to her. It was a good kind of odd. She felt like she was in college again when all the older guys showed her attention, of course they didn't get too far because she was more interested in studying her books. "Thank you...Gohan." She murmured, almost lost in thought. She shook her head when he started talking about why he had such good manners. She nodded, lifting her hand up and extending her index finger and gave a wink. "Well whoever is responsible for raising you deserves a medal for their hard work." She let out a little giggle. Gohan went on to thank her and how much he appreciated her listening and talking to him. He even said he should be finding a way to repay Jocelyn herself. She placed a hand right under her collarbone and looked surprised. "Me? Oh, I didn't do anything. I just listened and said what I thought. It's what friendly people do. It's the least I could do for the uplifting company." She blinked as he went on to the next tidbit of information. It seemed if she wanted to know more the option was on the table, but she was left flabbergasted by the next bit of information. It seemed that Gohan was the step son of this Great Android Terror. She couldn't believe it, her first day in Gatz's Haven and she meets the step son of the creator. At least, she assumed he was the step son. Gohan didn't directly call him father, and nobody would refer to their own father as Mister. Dr. Addison figured this Gatz guy must have moved in on Gohan's mother. Or perhaps Gohan was adopted and that's why he referred to his mother by name. Now that she thought about it, any number of options could be true. Perhaps she would ask at a later date, as Gohan made it seem like Gatz wasn't exactly the funnest guy to talk about. He made it seem like he wasn't handed anything due to the relations between himself and Gatz. That meant that whoever Gatz was to him, he wasn't an overly affectionate person towards Gohan. "Well as long as you had the opportunity to prove yourself to be the best doctor, I'm sure whatever hurdles you had to jump through were worth it." She said reassuringly. "In the end Nepotism helps, but you can't keep the position solely based on relation. You have to prove your worth, sometimes even twice as hard as a regular person to prove you belong." She said, thinking back to her own problems that had arisen while at her former job. Jocelyn ran into issues of people growing jealous of the clout she carried due to her name, so expectations for her success and failure were high. "But you said something about seeing more of the city. Why don't you fly me to the prettiest spot in the city. Let me see if this place is really worth moving to." She said, with a curly little playful grin. Gohan was proving to be a fun partner in crime, he could fly, he was smart and he was tall. These were things to look for when choosing a mate, sadly she thought it probably not wise to pursue anything with this gentleman. With his relations to Gatz it would be a high security risk to her life. If Gatz found out that Gohan had met someone from the New Red Ribbon Army it would be only a matter of time that she'd be found dead in a ditch. Jocelyn walked up to Gohan and began to poke his chest gently. "Come on, Mister McFly. Show a girl a good time like you said you would." She said with a giggle at the end, taking delight in poking his chest. WC: 875 TWC: 7217 |
