Despite her rather rough introduction to the Haven, Mei decided to stick around for a little while longer once she heard there was a place dedicated to martial arts. She walked towards a large, but more traditionally built than most of the city. Mei wondered if she could enter such a place, but having made it this far, she decided to just send caution to the wind and jump in. If she was turned away, then Mei would resume her pilgrimage. If she was accepted to learn a thing or two, all the better. Mei approached the door and opened it, poking her head to see the insides of a dojo. Much like the training halls were she learned and honed her skill in the Kasai Hato Katachi, it was merely a large room where fightings would practice techniques, katas, and other exercises while other students or spectators watched from the sides. However, right now it appeared devoid of life, with no students or senseis to be seen. Despite a lack of people, as Mei walked into the dojo she still took the time to bow out of respect for the students, the teachers, and the building itself. It was a place where people honed the body and mind through rigourous training and discipline, and thus deserving of such respect. She took off her boots and placed them on a small mat and stepped into the centre of the dojo. Here Mei felt both a sense of anxiousness and sense of relief. She enjoyed her martial arts training more than anything else in the Temple, as it allowed her to use her near boundless energy in a way she knew was useful. With her skills sharpened, she could use the Kasai to defend those who could not defend themselves. It was certainly a lot more practical than simple meditating. Not that she did not do that as well. A clear mind helped to make physical training easier. Seemingly alone, Mei took a deep breath and began the motions of the katas taught to her by Old Master Fuega. She started simple at first with the basics, the core of the Kasai, focusing on foot positioning, the movement of her arms, and the placement of her hands relative to her own body. Her teachers told her to only strike with an open palm instead of a closed fist, as it was the way to control one's hands for more than simple striking. An open palm can deal as much damage as a fist if used well, as well as be used for grappling purposes after words. Mei lashed out into the air against an invisible enemy, striking with her palms as well as knife-edge chops. She immediately switched to some swift forward kicks leading into a jump. With her momentum, Mei spun around and kicked outward, clocking her imaginary foe in the jaw. She landed on her feet with ease and took a breath. After a moment she felt rather silly kicking and striking at air, but then what else was she to do? Instead she wondered if anyone was in the dojo today. Shrugging, Mei resumed her practice. Might as well use the environment for her benefit before leaving. *** WC: 537 |

![]() The Ox Princess nodded her head at the cadets who hung around her dojo after their sessions with her husband were finished. Her dojo had acquired four students since it opened. She walked with pride towards her dojo because of how successful it had been since its grand opening. Being a mother of a new baby, she had balanced the time between being a mother and training. Thankfully, she had an excellent baby sitter that would tend to her baby when she was required to visit the dojo. There was a nursery built at the military base for this purpose too. Her martial arts dojo was a separate identity to the Final Heaven Military which was owned by her husband. He built a dojo for her, within the compounds of the base, for both her protection and his peace of mind. Since he did not want her to battle on the front lines with the other soldiers, he figured a dojo would keep her occupied. She was fond of it. It had a special place in her heart . Since the moment she trained her second son Goten, she realized she could be an excellent teacher. She approached the the dojo room where the "magic" took place so to speak. She stood at the threshold of the door and noticed a woman inside already. Was she new? With how the girl was dressed, she figured she was not part of the military cadets that would sometimes get lost in the dojo. Curiously, she observed how the girl moved. The traditional female used open palm strikes to take down imaginary foes. The raven haired beauty watched as some of the girl's strikes were similar to her own. Their were slight differences though considering the Ox Princess trained under her father the Ox King who had trained with the turtle hermit Master Roshi. Her style was more aggressive due to her father's enormous size and brute strength. Despite the Ox Princess smaller stature, she had a temper that she used into her attacks. They fueled them. ![]() Once she saw enough, she entered into the room and broke the silence with her voice. "I hope those were delinquents you were striking down. They can be quite the nuisance." She commented with slyness. "You're technique is sound. The General of Final Heaven would be satisfied if you were a new cadet. There aren't many new cadets that can move quite like that." Her voice complimented with a friendly demeanor. She avoided asking the girl for her name. She figured the girl might have been a cadet that got lost. It was a typical assumption since it happened often. WC: 467 Edited by Bel Zephyra, Feb 19 2015, 09:01 AM.

Mei took a deep breath as she finished another kata, this one focusing on sweeping movements with all of her limbs. As she returned to the rest position, a voice alerted her that she was not alone. Perhaps she was now in very deep trouble. Mei froze up and slowly turned to face the newcomer. Her teeth ground together as smile to try to give a good first impression. She stood up straight with her hands clasped in front of her, bowing repeatedly. "H-h-hello," Mei said in a nervous voice, "I'm uh... I'm not a cadet, no no, just a visitor! I saw this dojo and wanted to see who trained here if possible. Oh, where are my manners, my master would be so disappointed in me... I'm Mei Xing, priestess trainee of the Kasai Temple. It's uh... nice to meet you! Please don't be mad." Mei stopped bowing and looked up at the woman who spoke to her and found her to be rather pretty in her jacket, tie, and skirt. The attractive woman in front of Mei only helped increased the feeling of inadequacy she always felt when around pretty people. She never broke eye contact with the woman though. Embarrassed as she was, Mei still maintained an air of respect. However, Mei did recall that the woman seemed to find positives in Mei's form. "Oh, thank you," she said, "I've been practising the Kasai Hato Katachi all my life, so I keep in practice to maintain my master's, and my own high standards. If you are familiar with forms, then are you the master of this dojo? What kind of training do you do? Do you have a lot of special techniques?" Mei reigned in her eagerness when she realized that she was, after all, a rather obtrusive guest. She bowed her head to the woman. "Um... I'm sorry for trespassing, I just thought this place was interesting in a city of metal, and it reminded me of home. If you want me to leave, I will." *** WC: 336 TWC: 873 |

Chi-chi sensed the pretty girl's nervousness the minute she entered into the dojo. Normally, the Ox Princess wore a traditional quipao, but on the military base she was required to wear a uniform like the other soldiers. Her uniform happened to be hand picked by her husband who saw best to have her wear a skirt. She was still adjusting to the skirt, but since it was a gift, she was respectful and wore it. Calmly, she approached the girl who responded anxiously. "I'm uh... Please don't be mad." Mei Xing was the girl's name, and she was not a cadet like Chi-chi first assumed. To ease the girl's nervousness, the raven haired beauty smiled in a friendly manner. Then, respectfully, the Ox Princess returned the newcomer's greeting. She intertwined her fingers in front of her waist and bowed her head at the girl. "It's nice to meet you Mei Xing. My name is Chi-chi, and this is my dojo." She replied with sincerity. Once she bowed her head, she straightened her posture and listened to Mei's apology. The teenage girl explained why her stances were sharp and had solid technique behind them. ![]() "There is no need to apologize dear. This dojo is open to potential pupils who want to seek training from me. It's new so I don't have that many students yet." She stated with honesty. Mei wanted to know more about what the school taught and so Chi-chi replied calmly. As she talked, she walked towards a table and set down a back on it. Her back was turned to Mei while she answered the girl's question about what the school taught. "My training originates from the Turtle Hermit School, but with slight variations. My father was the 2nd student Master Roshi accepted once his school was founded, and I was trained by my father whose techniques specialized on improving his physical abilities like his brute strength. I've incorporated some of the Hermit's ideals into my dojo. The difference is my dojo focuses more on discipline and one's physical strengths, but I have mastered the kamehameha wave. I am capable of teaching it to anyone who is worthy. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but it is an ancient technique. I've mastered the kamehameha wave and some others. Then there are several techniques that my husband has volunteered to share if anyone was willing to learn them. His are more about flash and large explosions." A chuckle escaped her after her remark about her husband's techniques. She turned to Mei once she finished talking and allowed what she said to sink in before she continued. Mei listened intently as Mrs. Chi-Chi explained her style of fighting as well as some of the techniques she could teach. Her interest piqued, Mei wondered if she could learn the techniques of another style. She only knew of the Kasai Hato Katochi and its movements, stances, and other strikes; she wondered if Chi-Chi's style would be compatible with the Kasai. Chi-Chi then made mention of a turtle hermit, which spurned memory of some of Old Master Fuega's stories of her own training. "My master spoke of the Turtle Hermit, Master Roshi," Mei said, "perhaps its not nice to say, but my Master called Roshi a perverted old fool who spent far too much time chasing girls. I think she and him had some kind of disagreements, but they both trained under Master Mutaito, so maybe we have a lot in common already!" She was interested in something called the "kamehameha wave." Mei did in fact heard of it, though Fuega never explained what it was. "I know of the kamehameha wave, but never seen it before. Again, my master told me about it, but called it incompatible with the Kasai teachings. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but I would love to learn anything from another martial arts master!" Mei fetl an eagerness she had not felt since first leaving the Temple to see the world. She loved her training and the idea of learning another style was something she wanted to pursue. She stood up straight and bowed to Chi-Chi again. "I'd like nothing more than to learn your style of martial arts, Mrs. Chi-Chi! You will find that I am eager student will to learn anything and everything she can. I'm not the strongest person, but I have a lot of ki that keeps me going non-stop!" However, she needed to always have her pilgrimage as the primary focus. "I do need to say that I am on a pilgrimage assigned to me by my Master Fuega. I was actually going to Mount Frappe after I stopped by here, but I really would like to train with you if at all possible! I just can't abandon my own mission. I hope you understand." *** WC: 362 TWC: 1235 |

"perhaps its not nice to say, but my Master called Roshi a perverted old fool who spent far too much time chasing girls" Chi-chi's eyes rolled and then narrowed in irritation at the mention of Mei's master noticing how perverted Master Roshi could be. The Ox Princess was not fond of Master Roshi's indiscretions and she instantly let it known. Despite how wise the old man was, she made a comment in regards to how she felt about the old man's hobby. ![]() "Ugh, I told that old man if he flirted with all those girls I'd hurt him. He has no self control. I wonder sometimes why my father adores the hermit." She shook her head in disapproval. She did not have as much respect for Master Roshi as other students did, and this was mainly because her father was the one who originally trained her. Thankfully, it was not the old pervert. She imagined she was more than likely to hurt him than to concentrate on his teachings. Perhaps it was the reason the old boot never bothered to have female students. He wouldn't be able to instruct them properly. It was either that or he frightened them before they got a chance to undergo his workouts. "I know of the kamehameha wave, but never seen it before. " Once the conversation turned a new leaf, she relaxed and listened to Mei comment about the kamehameha wave. "The kamehameha is an incredible technique. With work, you could master it too." It was not compatible with her master's teachings. Not to mention, she hadn't seen it before. The Ox Princess remembered when she first saw the kamehameha waved used by Master Roshi. She was amazed by its brightness and power. It was used to put out the flames from her father's castle. The wave did its job, but in the process destroyed their home that was later rebuilt. "I can promise you that the first time you see it you will be amazed. I know I was." She nodded her head. The young lady said she was ready and eager to train. The raven haired beauty could see that the girl was prepared and disciplined to boot. However, Xing was on a mission for her master and could not stay at the dojo directly. This was not an issue in Chi-chi's mind because the mission could serve as valuable training. "I do understand perfectly. You should continue your Master's pilgrimage. It is respectful to do this, and we all have our destinies to fulfill. It will make you strong mentally and physically, but first before you leave, I want to give you a gift. If you accept, you will officially be a part of my dojo and when you are finished with your mission, you may return whenever you desire." Chi-chi approached a cleverly hidden closet, pulled out a weighted belt, and then approached Xing. She handed the girl the weighted belt. The weights would serve as a reminder that the girl was welcomed at the school. Ooc: (Let me know if you want to be placed on the trainer's list. Mei beamed as she received the belt Chi-Chi offered her with a bow of respect. She took a moment to remove the red sash of the Kasai Temple to replace it with the Final Heaven belt. When it clasped around her waist comfortably, Mei felt the considerable weight bear her down only slightly; she had been weight training for a very long time. While it dragged her down a little bit, Mei would get used to the added weight in no time flat. With the belt on tight, Mei bowed to Chi-Chi with utmost respect to her new Master. However, something did not feel right. That something was missing from the acceptance of Mei Xing to Chi-Chi's martial arts school. Even in the Kasai Temple where all the Sisters trained, prayed, and lived together, to be allowed advanced Kasai training one needed to pass many difficult tests to be trained by Old Master Fuega and the other Elder Sisters. One such test involved sitting in a fire as it roared around her, all the making sure not only was she burned, but her clothes remained whole as well by maintaining a powerful ki aura. Mei simply assumed that she needed to pass a similar test to be accepted by Chi-Chi. "Master Chi-Chi," Mei began, "I am grateful for this opportunity to train with you and your school, but I feel that I haven't done anything for admittance other than walk into your dojo and throw a few kicks and palms. I'd like a way to prove myself if possible, whether through martial tests or other forms of examinations. I need to earn what is offered and given to me, Master, and I need to prove myself worthy through some means." "I remember the tests to even learn how to unleash her inner fire and become a Kasai in training." Mei opened her palm to Chi-Chi. "The entrance examination was a simple test of endurance for all the younglings, where the children who wanted to train in the Fire Heart Style where told to climb up the steps of the main Temple and get something for the Old Master. They were different things, like a loaf of bread, to a back-scratcher, to a pillow, to a small wooden bowl that Old Master Fuega would put on her head and call it a fine hat. Any potential student needed to do this all day and all night without giving up or stopping. Many gave up along the stairs, while others simply didn't have the endurance, but I kept going because I needed to become Kasai! That test, and many others, were needed for my own growth as a warrior and as a person." Mei took a breath. "It may seem silly now that I'm wearing your school's belt, but I need to prove myself. Whether it's katas or a proving grounds fight or a mission or anything. You gave me the belt, but now I want to prove I can wear it so I don't disgrace your school when I'm out in the world. So I can prove to myself that I deserve this opportunity. Mr. Bora said you were nice, and I have no reason to doubt his words, but I do ask for this test to show you I am a capable student." Fire needed fuel and for Mei Xing, her inner fire came from proving herself through hardship and difficulty. No matter what the test was, Mei felt compelled to complete something, perhaps not for Master Chi-Chi's sake, but for her own peace of mind. The fire in her heart blazed and needed to be fanned through deeds rather than words. This was the way of her own training. She hoped it was not at odds with the new. *** WC: 626 TWC: 1861 ((OOC: Yes, I would like to be put on the training list. Chi-chi took a step back and nodded once to acknowledge Mei Xing's respectful bow after she had been given a training belt. The initial acceptance was finished. The Ox Princess saw no point in utilizing small tests in order to decide if one was worthy of her training. Her sharp senses, especially in regards to delinquents, could detect if someone was good at heart. As she was about to congratulate Mei Xing into the school, her new student expressed her need to prove to the Ox Princess that she was worthy of being accepted into the dojo. Xing was determined to the point that she asked for a test to prove herself. "It is not silly. I get that you want to show the world and me what you can do. We all have competitive spirits inside of us, and we are all in search of our destinies. It's unnecessary for you to show me that you are worthy. Master Roshi would send boys to do his errands, but I want to be different. I believe that you will prove yourself through hard work, training, and discipline. I can see it. I can sense it, but if you wish to prove yourself to me, finish your pilgrimage first and after you return, I will test you. After all, you have yet to meet my husband, and I can assure you he is not as nice as I am....believe me. My training is tough, but his tests of endurance and strength are far beyond what you may have encountered. You will need to be ready. Your journey will serve as good training before that happens." She did not specify what it was that Mei would undergo. It was better that way. Chi-chi planned on allowing Xing to attend a one night boot camp that her husband had his cadets do.. Since the girl was set on being challenged, Chi had no alternative, but to do it. Xing was not a soldier, but since Xing suggested Chi-chi figured she' d try it. Mei smiled at Master Chi-Chi after she allowed her newest pupil to continue her pilgrimage. Now she could obtain even greater strength and incredible techniques of two schools of martial arts, all the better to perfect her abilities as a Kasai and protect the world. Mei would do her utmost to become a student worthy of both her masters, of that she was sure. All she needed to do was find the Mount Frappe brazier and the other two. "Thank you very much for your acceptance, hospitality, and understanding Master Chi-Chi," Mei said. "I'll be back as often as I can for my training and I will do everything I can to complete my pilgrimage. I'll bring honour to your school. I'll be ready for any test Mr. Gatz has for me. I look forward to the oppurtunity to prove myself, and when I return, I will do exactly that! Maybe when I've finished my pilgrimage and my training here, I can bring you to the Kasai Temple to meet Old Master Fuega. I think you two would get along well." With no time to spare, Mei collected her things and set out to go to Mount Frappe with all due haste. Mei bowed to her new martial arts master. "Thanks again! See you soon! I'll make sure to bring back plenty of fun stories!" With her goodbyes said, Mei left the dojo behind. Her ki flowing within her, Mei launched herself into a powered flight, eager to get to the next leg of her journey. Mount Frappe awaited her, and she found it best not to keep it waiting. *** WC: 267 TWC: 2128 |
