Standing in the opening between two trees Panaka's eyes were closed and he breathed in the thinner air of the mountains. This was much different than his village home, but at the same time he'd managed to find a forested area which was beneficial. In his training part of it had been survival training, and they were left to their own means for a few months or so they had thought. Their elders had kept watch over them to make sure they didn't die, but at the same time they had wanted to harden them to the natural world as much as possible so they weren't going to make it easy. When he left home he had only left with a few changes of clothes, a small amount of money that his family had provided to help him get by, and that was about it. There were other things he may have liked to take, but this was a fresh beginning and a training journey among other adventures.

He looked over at the alcove he'd built for himself using some of the closer trees, he had been careful to avoid damaging the limbs unnecessarily. As much as he was trying to survive, he didn't feel that his own life was meant to be spent needlessly taking the life of nature or other beings. He had managed to make a hammock that he'd hid at an angle that wouldn't be as easy to see from the ground as well figuring that would be good enough for his purposes. This wasn't as comfortable as it might have been in the city, but he wasn't sure he wanted to jump from the life he'd known into trying to stay in a city without knowing anyone. Time would tell how things changed, but for all he cared, he might find himself living in the wilderness until he could build his own little place in the world. That was one of the beauties of this, was that there weren't any strings to tie him down, weren't the expectations though he definitely wasn't going to slow down on his training in the least bit.

With that in mind he let himself drop to a sitting position and locking his legs around the tree he started doing some crunches from that position, he had taken enough of a break after setting up camp. The breeze felt good, as it wasn't too chilly, and though the air was thinner it may be good training in itself to try and push himself in the areas where that was the case. He'd heard of people being able to fly, including his elder but they had stated that wasn't something that he was ready for. That answer got under his skin a little, because he was aware enough of how much weaker he was, but the fact that he wasn't able to reach that pinnacle by his own power grated on him more. He couldn't allow that to stop him, so he kept with this aspect of his physical training for a few more minutes before he sat up one final time. This time he let his torso start to lean down again but unhooked his legs and dropped to the ground as softly as possible, letting his momentum roll him through a single flip before he landed.

He didn't hesitate, as soon as he hit the ground he bent his left leg after briefly placing it behind his right and pushed off with it as fast as he could. Darting through the trees he ran as quickly as possible, not letting the trees stop him, but actually reaching out and slamming his open palm against the trees that got too close. It wasn't in such a way as to damage or knock the tree aside, but it was more of a way to shift his momentum, pushing off from the tree to spin around it without slowing his movement too greatly. Shooting his left arm out at an angle he extended the length and grabbed on to a thicker branch, pulling himself up onto it and then kicking off the branch through the tree tops briefly. As soon as he pressed off of the tree limb he let his arms drop to his sides to allow him to move more unhindered through the air. Eyes closed he opened them briefly as he felt the leaves and upper limbs of the tree stop brushing against him as he let himself fall naturally back into the trees.

Using the limbs to drop himself back to the ground Panaka wondered how it would be to fly once again. Not taking much of a break he actually started to run once again at a more moderate pace, working more on stamina than short term bursts of speed at this point. He ran until he reached the edge of the mountain road that cut through a portion of this forest looking both ways for a moment to see what was within his line of sight. Nothing at the moment, and even if there was he was sure they would avoid a green Namekian who stood easily taller than most every human he had met. Starting once again, he moved at a moderate pace as he looked to either side with his peripheral, going long enough to run for what he approximated at twenty minutes.

During the run though he would stop at a mental count of two minutes, stopping in mid stride and going further forward onto his front leg as he bent it lower to the ground pushing up against it. Allowing his momentum to carry him he would kick out with his opposite leg, kicking in an arc motion before landing on that leg. Once he landed he made sure to do so with both feet next to each other and he bent at the knees and pushed up hard against the ground, but arching his back slightly as he rose into the air. He let his limbs strike out as quickly as possible, going with a combination of four quick strikes and then a roundhouse kick before he allowed his momentum to carry him into a roll. From the roll he took a couple of steps before he started to run at a moderate pace once again. Panaka didn't have any desire to keep his actions silent, he had no reason to hide from anyone and as far as he could tell he was still alone on the road.

The sky darkened as thick clouds of black begin to swirl in the middle of the sky, suddenly a red light pierced through the darkened clouds as a shattering sounded off through the mountain scape. Suddenly from the portal came a burning visage shrouded in sparks of electricity. It was a massive hulking figure, dark blue green but as it descended to the Earth it began to shrivel up, growing smaller and smaller as it came closer and closer to crashing into the ground. What was once a giant creature of muscle and brawn had become a bulb headed dwarf like creature with pointy ears, and that creature crashed into the Earth below.

Making a small crater that surrounded his entire body, sporadic twitches shot through his limbs as he seemed to be quite out of it. To any unsuspecting person, this would be just some small goblin creature who had fallen out of the sky. The reality? This was the Immortal Garlic Jr. Having spent the last twenty odd years trapped inside the confines of a dimension known as the Dead Zone. How did he get there? Well, it would be wise to say how did he get there again? Well, Garlic Jr's plot to take over the planet with his father's Dark Mist had failed miserably thanks to that miserable band of misfits that was always helping out Kami. In Garlic Jr's infinite wisdom, he decided to make all of them pay for their insolence by summoning the Dead Zone to suck them in for all eternity. Unfortunately for our pint sized imp he didn't expect the son of Goku to over power him and send him hurdling into the Dead Zone. Was that the whole story? Of course not, but you get the jist.

Garlic Jr's eyes slowly began to open as he looked around at his surroundings. Where was he? It looked like some kind of forest...but where? The last thing he remembered was channeling all of the energy for the last couple of years inside of the Dead Zone for what seemed like eternity. Time passed 3.6 times faster in the Dead Zone, so the twenty years out here had been a staggering seventy two in the Dead Zone. At least, that was the guessing math he had come up with, seeing as he didn't have anything but his thoughts while trapped in his self inflicted solitary confinement. Garlic Jr. tried to move, but he couldn't. He had stayed in a concentrated state for so long, charging so much of his power. Since his last stay on Earth he had managed to get a little stronger, but without the Makyo Star he wouldn't be able to multiply his powers ten fold. This would be a set back, he looked down at his body. He was just in his pants as his cloak and top had been torn apart when he transformed all those years before. He looked at his little blue belly as he blinked at it several times, poking it then touching the ground below him trying to see if this was all a dream.

"I'm....FREE!"

Flipping through the air, Panaka landed and was about to start running again before he instead crouched down as he prepared for whatever was about to happen. The sky which had been clear as usual was suddenly pierced by a clearly unnatural darkness, and as much as he wasn't used to some things, he knew storms didn't arise that quickly except maybe in the middle of the ocean. Well, maybe that thought process was wrong and what he was seeing was a natural storm but it definitely didn't feel that way and he wasn't about to drop his guard. As much good as that might do him though if he wanted to be honest with himself, anything that could make the light go dark. He barely had any warning as a crimson light cut through the clouds without any hesitation and he felt as if his whole world was spinning as the tremendous sound shattered the previously quiet air.

It wasn't enough just being close to whatever caused it since it had to have happened maybe a hundred yards at most from him, but the sound. His ears burned as he barely resisted the urge to rip them off, as painful as the crashing sound was to hear, somehow he still managed to keep himself on one knee so he had some semblance of balance. Looking on he had yet another confirmation that this wasn't a natural occurrence as there appeared a rip in the middle of the air which expanded to reveal a hole in the middle of the sky. Part of him was amazed at the size of the being that seemed to start dropping from the hole, he almost wondered how exactly the other being fit through for a moment, but it's intimidating size was diminishing as the form dropped towards the ground. Panaka resisted the urge to try and go help catch the being only because he was found himself unable to react in time, as the creature seemed to speed up once it left the portal and crashed with a good deal of force.

Looking over at the crater the young Namekian didn't hesitate as he moved towards the crater, hoping he might be able to assist whomever had just come through. To his surprise the massive form had shrunk to a much smaller being, with ears that were as pointed as a Namekian though he didn't have the stature or size. Also the tone of his skin was different than any of his race that he'd seen, but he wasn't going to assume anything in that regard and it truly didn't matter to him what race they were. Age was another thing that seemed near impossible to tell on them but he couldn't care, the being looked male based on the build of the torso, but Panaka had already started to remove the top of his training gi in case they wanted additional clothing due to being completely bare from the waist up. As they spoke the Young Namekian spoke without thinking, "Yes you are free. I do not know from what, but I can offer you some cloth if you so desire. If you wanted to wait a moment there may be something more appropriate I can help adorn you with if needed as well."

He was still wary of the being, it wasn't every day that you saw a sight such as what he'd seen before, so he kept his muscles tense in case he needed to spring away. But he had a feeling that if this being was able to enhance its size then there was much more to it than met the eye. Panaka wasn't one to ever, how did the earthlings say it 'judge a book by its cover' but at the same time he was extremely wary at the moment. There wasn't any point in hiding it, he had no desire and made sure to make it clear there was no animosity or intent to strike. Provoking an unarmed being wasn't something that would ever sit right with him unless there was apparent reason or an imminent threat which dictated otherwise. Without thinking further he bowed his head and said, "Please let me know if I can be of any assistance, I may not know the area as well but I will still help in any way I can. It looks as though you have been through a lot, and could use some peaceful rest.

Garlic Jr. had lifted his hands in victory as he announced his freedom, but then suddenly realized he wasn't alone anymore like he had been for all those years inside of the Dead Zone. He turned around quickly, turning to face the owner of the voice that had decided to speak up. Junior's eyes widened to the size of saucers when he saw who exactly was talking to him, the green skin, the pink patches on the arms....He was a Namekian! Just like that bastard Kami! Just like that odious other half, Piccolo. Parts of him filled with rage, he wanted nothing more than to wipe the floor with this Namekian as a way of venting his frustrations that had been building for those two members of his species. Garlic may have been trapped for a long period of time, but he managed to keep his sanity, not making any mistakes in thinking this was actually Kami or Piccolo. He was far too young to be Kami, that decrepit old leech had been around so long Garlic Jr. was pretty sure he had wrinkles older than this Namek.

"Strange...It seems in this time they're are more of you on this planet..." Garlic said aloud, letting his inner thoughts be known. Garlic studied the Namek who had taken off his shirt and was offering it to the Makyan, he took a few humble steps forward and took the large piece of fabric. He lifted it up against his body, the entire shirt was bigger than his torso and was touching the ground as it dangled from his hands. He took the shirt and wrapped it around his neck, causing some of it to flow down his back like a make shift cape, while the rest covered his chest. He held his hand to either side of himself. "How do I look?" Garlic asked, deciding to let this Namek live for now since he seemed submissive so far.

Garlic admired his temporary new digs, they would have to do for now. The weather on Earth was far nicer than the barren unfriendly conditions of the Dead Zone, after awhile Garlic Jr. just learned to accept it, but now that he was experiencing something entirely superior, he had to admit that this was by far an improvement. The Namek decided to be even more helpful, offering more assistance were Garlic Jr. to need it. This caused a grin to come over the Makyan's face, due to his facial structure this looked menacing indeed. "Well...I guess it's true what they say, not all Nameks are half bad." Garlic Jr. said as a laughter escaped his lips. He let his gaze fix upon the Namek. "Allow me to introduce myself...I am Garlic Junior. The rightful Guardian of this Earth!" Garlic arched one of his brows. "And you are?" Garlic said as he tilted his head in interest, he was beginning to form plans for this Namek....devious plans. Oh the things he could accomplish, the kind of things that involved...revenge.

As he stood there waiting for a response, Panaka started to get a little leery given the initial reaction of the smaller person before him, it would work for now since he didn't recognize the race. He definitely wasn't human so maybe just an alien as they had been the most unique he'd seen or interacted with in his lifetime. The way his eyes widened though definitely made the young Namekian prepare for the worst because generally they didn't show that much surprise unless they were surprised. More likely than not from when he'd seen it, the following reaction was normally more often negative than positive. Not wanting to assume anything, he didn't have to wait long because the other person spoke it gave him a hint as to what the surprise may have been about. Nodding he said, "We have a small village, and I'm not sure that we're the only ones either. Based on what my elders said, there was an event where what remained of our race had to come to Earth. He didn't want to bore him but he couldn't help speak up a little more in depth using the time that was used with his top being adorned, "A few smaller clans at least for our area of the wilderness chose to stay on Earth when the majority of us went to the new planet Namek."

He remained silent while the other being continued to wrap himself up, and Panaka resolved that he would definitely have to find something smaller that would fit him more properly. Though he wasn't a craftsperson he was sure there was something he could help find that was more fitting until they were able to buy him clothing that was more appropriate. When asked how it looked he nodded and said, "As long as you do not mind, but we should see about getting you some additional clothing that is more your size when there is time." When he went on and mentioned not all Nameks being that bad the young Namekian warrior couldn't help but pause for a moment after opening his mouth as if to respond. Well, from the sounds of it he'd not known about the Namekians coming to Earth when their original planet was destroyed it meant he was referencing some of his race that had been here before. Thinking back to the history that he had heard he only remembered hearing that the current Guardian of the Earth and the one before him were both Namekians. Maybe those were who he'd meant but he couldn't be sure, there were other scenarios that were running through his mind but he ignored them as he said, "On behalf of my people I do apologize if there was someone who treated you in a negative way. There are good and bad beings in every race from what I have seen or heard in older stories."

When he heard the name of the other being he started trying to look at him in a new light. The name Garlic Jr didn't ring any bells, but the call out to being the rightful guardian of the Earth was something that he caught his breath at. Without thinking he bowed his head briefly and said, "I had not heard that name mentioned, though I was born on Earth I do not know much about the history to know the name of many who have claimed the title of Guardian." He didn't doubt that he could be true given that being Guardian of the Earth was more of an internal strength rather than necessarily a strength of arms based on what he had been told. The way he mentioned rightful though made him mutter without thinking, "But I cannot help but wonder, what you mean by rightful Guardian. I do not know of anyone who would wish to depose the Guardian of the Earth without being worthy of the title themselves." Realizing he had spoken aloud he quickly bowed his head in apology as he spoke softly, "Forgive me for any rudeness based on that statement. You had asked who I was, my name is Panaka. I am from a village of mixed races who came together for the purposes of survival and was raised in that setting. It is make your acquaintance."

It had been improper and part of him wanted to reprimand himself for his lack of proper procedure, but as formal as he had been raised meeting the guardian of the planet wasn't among any training he had. That wasn't a common occurrence he had to imagine, let alone to have one who had been deposed, improperly based on what seemed to be implied. The fact that Garlic Jr. had dropped from what had seemed midair amidst a span of unexpected darkness, which implied that there must have been magic involved. Though he didn't practice himself, Panaka had seen some of the acts and this seemed to speak of a great magic which also made him wonder more about where Garlic Jr. had been before he was freed. Though the young Namekian couldn't see anyone around in his peripherals that may have freed him, it made him wonder if they were alone once again.

There was a whole village of these guy's on the planet now? Last time Garlic Jr. knew there was only that dustbin Kami and his bastard half Piccolo roaming around on this planet. Perhaps they had figured out a way to multiply? Last time he checked he didn't really know how the Namekian anatomy worked, and he was never really interested to begin with. But one thing he didn't want was a bunch of other green men running around trying to take his spot as the true Guardian of this planet. It was his birth right, it was his Father's birth right and he would be damned if anybody was going to stop him from attaining it in his life, that would last for the rest of eternity.

"A whole village eh? And you say there's a whole planet of you guy's out there in the cosmos?" Garlic Jr. said looking up towards the sky above his head, he let his eyes squint as he peered out into the vastness. He gave a little smirk as he thought about it for a second. He was immortal, he could spend the rest of eternity figuring out ways to torture and dissect that entire race one by one, just for the mere fact that Kami happened to be of their race. His hatred for that old cretin and his albatross was deeply rooted into his heart, and as every moment passed he was sitting there conjuring a way of getting back at them. He had a brilliant plan brewing in his mind, and it involved this talkative little Namek who was being very helpful.

"Clothes? There is only one place on this planet to find clothing that is right for a man of my stature." He said, not referencing his height but the fact he was an immortal and the rightful Guardian of Earth. Garlic Jr. grinned as he let his hands go to his side and his aura began to flare up around him, bolts of red electricty began to circulate around his tiny limbs. He began to look around confused though, he wasn't lifting up. That was strange...he had no problem flying before...was he flying in the Dead Zone or floating around aimlessly? He looked at his fingers as he saw his aura diminishing in size. The sparks grew smaller as it had seem Garlic was losing power. This was most dreadful indeed.

"Well...that's not good." Garlic said aloud as he looked around. It seemed that he was having problems accessing his abilities that he had mastered all those years ago. He didn't even want to try attempting to transform, one because the massive shift in size might have alarmed the Namek and could lead him to attack if he felt threatened. Garlic Jr. didn't want to be forced to kill him...if he could that was. If he had problems flying, he may have been drained of his strength as we...wait...he couldn't sense the Namek's power level. He couldn't....He really had gone through a regression. This wouldn't prove very useful to the Makyan at all, it looked like he was at the mercy of this Namek, he had to appear to be helpless if he wanted to get more time to get himself back up to speed.

Panaka said something though, that really struck a chord within Garlic Jr. He actually took the time to apologize for those rat bastards who had led him to not one, but two trips to the Dead Zone. It was then, he realized the one thing he thought he would never hear...an apology...from a Namek...was actually kind of a pleasing thing to hear. It didn't change anything, it actually just fueled the hatred within him. It made him want to hear the apology come from their own lips as they gasped for life then choked to death on their own blood. "Hey...what are you gonna do? Every race has their flaws, and those who embrace them and live them out." He shrugged his shoulder as he tried to play it off like it was no big deal. "But an apology isn't what I was looking for."

Garlic Jr. walked up to the Namek, examining him from head to toe. Garlic Jr. tilted his head at him as he met his gaze. "You mean you've lived on Earth your whole life and have never heard of Garlic Jr? Or even my illustrious father Garlic?" Garlic Jr. said sounding a bit flabbergasted. He was a little offended that his actions weren't being told like they were momentous pieces of history. He was an Immortal for crying out loud! How many of those were running around now a days for him to not become a big deal all of a sudden? He sat years in the Dead Zone expecting everyone to be living in terror of his return, but it seemed that he had been written off and forgotten like his acts of violence against this Earth were forgettable or not very mentionable in the least bit.

But that actually...could work to his advantage Garlic immediately thought. Since this Namek had no clue who he was, that meant that he could convince him he was the rightful Guardian. Oh, how this fit into his plans deliciously. He could use this Namek and manipulate his way to the throne where he would finally stay there. "Well, you'd think with the title being "Guardian Of The Earth" that someone else would want it, right? I mean, My father was the perfect choice. But an evil Namek by the name of Kami stole it from him. He tried to fight back and get what was his, but was cast into another dimension. I had a perfect vision for this planet...but others didn't agree with that vision. They took me out before I could even become Guardian! Kami keeps his stranglehold on the top of his Lookout high above the clouds...looking down upon all of us and ignoring the cries of the planet that demand for it to be made better." Garlic Jr spoke so passionately, he was like a tyrannical dictator.

"But hey, no offense taken. It's not every day you meet the uncrowned Guardian Of The Earth." Garlic Jr. said, trying to sound like a big shot. Garlic Jr looked up at Panaka and tried to seem like a genuinely nice person, but he still came off a little uneasy, because he's...well...Garlic Jr. "I'm Garlic Jr. It's a pleasure to meet you Panaka. "I hope you meant what you said about helping me find clothes, because I meant it when I said there's only one place on this planet that has them. It's the ruins of my palace..." Garlic said, not wanting to say Fortress because that made him sound like he was a militant man, and he didn't want to create that image in Panaka's mind. Garlic hopped on Panaka's leg, crawling up him quickly like a monkey in a tree, grabbing him by the shoulder and resting on his back. "Let's say you take me there! I will see you are greatly rewarded. I'd do it myself, but it seems....flying is a little rusty for me." Garlic said, making a promise he would have to try to figure out later how he would have to keep. What Garlic Jr. didn't know is that he had fried his power level in ripping a portal through the Dead Zone to get to this plain of existence, and it was gonna take some old fashioned training to get things in order.

Waiting for response from Garlic Jr. wasn't the easiest thing for him to do, as he still wasn't a hundred percent sure what he was going to say or do based on the fact that he felt he'd been deposed and sealed away by a Namekian. That much he'd been able to put together now the how or why he'd have to put together for another reason as there were surely thousands of reasons one could go either way for the answer. At the same time he refused to try assuming one way or the other because in essence because without knowing more of the story an opinion couldn't be formed. When he asked first about the presence of more Namekians Panaka nodded, "That is correct. A few of the elders chose to stay on Earth, and moved into a small village along with some other races before my time and that's where I was raised. I'm not sure that is the only grouping of Nameks or not either but it's the only ones I've met on Earth to date." There was no reason to believe that anything he would say was a danger to anyone given that he'd not been given any hint of evil intentions from the former self-proclaimed rightful Guardian, so he added briefly, "I have only heard stories from people in contact with those on the Planet Namek, but yes I know of a few people who have left for that planet as well."

When Garlic went on about clothes and mentioning there was only one place to get clothes that were fitting for his stature, Panaka simply nodded. He had already offered his assistance so any help that he could provide in getting to where the other being needed to go he would. It was then that the air started to spark with electricity and an aura flared up around him in an interesting color, there wasn't anyone he could think of that had an aura within the spectrum of colors that seemed to be the same he'd noticed. But on top of that red seemed to be a color he hadn't seen much of, and though he was still a little wary he was curious what Garlic Jr. was trying to do. Before he could do it, there seemed to be a high to the aura before it started to seemingly sputter before it was followed with an admonition that this wasn't good. Shaking his head he spoke calmly, "I am sorry you were not able to achieve your desired goal. Is there something that I can try assisting you with based on the attempt?"

The impression that the young Namekian got from the former Guardian based on what he heard seemed to range through a various level of surprises. It seemed the apology had been accepted though unexpected, and when he mentioned every race having their flaws and those that exploit them he agreed aloud, "That is true, there is good and evil in all of us to some extent." So far he hadn't found any malevolent evil in himself, but he had heard of many who had worked so hard to push the evil from themselves that they have weakened themselves by splitting with their other half. The way that his race could put themselves back together was something that was discussed, and was talked about but it was also described as being one of those options of last resort since it was a one way permanent action in most instances. It was soon confirmed that his apology was a nice sentiment but it wasn't exactly what he had desired. He muttered quickly, "Unfortunately as things are that is all I can offer, though maybe someday I'll be able to find a way to gain enough strength to help protect people from being improperly treated to an extent."

He then went on to express his surprise but Panaka shook his head and spoke in response to not hearing of him or his father, "I am sorry, but the teachings normally were around a warrior's training or a magician's training depending on the way each of us was raised and the history of our people. We were taught some of Earth's history but our elders were still newer to the planet, and those in the village outside of our race had kept to themselves so they knew very little of the broader world." The next line of statements threw him a little for a loop as he had heard of the name Kami, but he had only heard that he had been the Guardian of the Earth before Dende, and that he was Namekian. He'd also heard he had done a number of good deeds, but based on what he was hearing part of him was starting to question it. Yes this was one side of the story, but here it was and he had seen Garlic Jr. come out of what could have been a prison of sorts. Once the other male had gotten to the end of his thought Panaka spoke up again, "Actually if I remember my teachings well enough the current Guardian of the Earth is a younger Namekian named Dende who the elders said arrived on Earth around the same time the rest of our clans did after the battle on our former home world."

The young namekian had doubt with the way Garlic Jr. had spoken, it didn't sound like the admonition and story of someone who had been wronged without proper cause. But that may be reading too far into things, as he had no idea what the other person had been through and didn't want to assume one way or another. As he had stated earlier there was good and evil in everyone and though he hadn't seen any of the evil he couldn't allow himself to drift to the conclusion of evil intent. Also he did feel as if his help was needed and not seeing any malicious intent he refused to allow himself to assume that there was a good reason to trap someone away as it sounded like it'd been done. Maybe he'd have the opportunity to approach this Kami though he thought he'd heard he had merged with another Namekian, he didn't know if that information should be shared given how passionate Garlic Jr. had been when he brought up Kami. Though not asked for a response he nodded when it was mentioned that the hope was that his offer for help was still valid.

A little surprised by the movement he allowed the smaller Garlic Jr. to climb up his frame, as the weight wasn't that great, but it could be a long hike. From the sounds of it the way he said ruins of a palace it did actually excite him a bit, because he hadn't seen a palace and even if it was in ruins it could be quite a site to see and an adventure he could share if he found someone to talk over them with. Panaka helped shift his body so the other could get up to his back more easily and said, "Well I will bring you there, though I am not sure how long it could take. Because, well to be honest I am unable to fly as well because it had not been included in my training." Without thinking about it he spoke again, "But maybe if you help describe it to me, on our way over there you could assist me in remedying this fact."

With that said he straightened and started to walk down the mountain path as he had a feeling that the ruins of Garlic Jr.'s palace weren't on this mountain top, he was interested in the others response though. At the same time he was now resolved to helping Garlic get home and from there it wasn't clear exactly what would happen once he had done that task. There had been other teachers across the planet, or he would assume that was the case so maybe he could seek one of them out.

The current guardian of this planet was some other Namek? Some other Namek named Dende? What the hell did that even mean!? At least with Kami you knew what you were getting, but Dende? That sounded like some type of frosting topping you put on fruit or something! Garlic felt his fists tightly clench as he could begin to feel the rage boil inside of him, did this mean that Kami had passed when he was trapped in the confines of the Dead Zone? That meant, all those years of agony, plotting out the revenge of his sworn enemy were all in vain. It was as if everything he had thought about all these years, every grim fantasy involving him tearing out the heart of Kami...were never going to be realized.

"Dende, huh? Sounds like a usurper if I ever heard one." Garlic Jr. callously chimed out. "But that's nice your friends and family decided to stick around Earth. I mean, Earth is such a great place, right?" Garlic Jr. said, really believing that statement. As, why else would he want to rule it so bad? Who wants to rule a planet they thought was a terrible place? Garlic Jr. had a vision for this planet and wasn't going to rest until he watched that vision become a reality, his escape from the Dead Zone was but the first step in a sequence of arduous steps that he was about to set into motion. They always said the first step is the biggest. It was then that Panaka threw a giant puzzle piece in his hand that he would have to figure out how to fit into place.

"You can't fly?!" Garlic Jr. said sounding very surprised. He thought these Nameks were flying before they were walking! He wanted to growl, but showing his frustration right now would only lead to his plans being stifled and taking longer to ascend to the top of the Lookout to his rightful throne. So he bit his tongue, taking a calm demeanor as he tried his best to look like a happy pleasant tutor. "Well then...why didn't you say so! It's been a long while since I've had myself a pupil, but if I can train a Spice Boy to be a Monarch then a Namek should be no problem at all." Garlic Jr. said with a boastful expression.

Garlic Jr. hopped off of Panaka's back as he moseyed around to the front of him. Garlic Jr. was a little rusty in being able to use his abilities, but he remembered well learning to manipulate ki and becoming a fighter at a young age. "You ever seen one of them whirly birds in the sky? The Earthlings call them helicopters. If you know what I'm talking about, this may come a little easier to you. Think of the energy inside of you as a propeller, you want to use that energy to lift you off the ground. You must channel and focus your energy to become capable of lifting you off the ground. Give it a shot, try to harness your power and push it below you. You want that ki to funnel out and manipulate yourself into the air." Garlic Jr. said, he attempted to demonstrate but all he got was sparks that sporadically appeared around his body that showcased him to be nothing more than a dud right now.

"Well, if you get the basic concept, then apply it!" Garlic Jr. added, scoffing as he folded his arms and turned his nose up. He didn't presently like that all of his skills had regressed and he was basically a blank slate with immortality. He still had immortality right? I mean, he had been alive this long in the Dead Zone and hadn't died yet. That had to account for something right? He couldn't let such silly ideas enter his mind, of course he was still immortal. The dragon had made the wish, and that wish was binding for the rest of his life...which was eternity. He would have to find a way to test if he was immortal or not later, right now he had to worry about getting home and getting himself new clothes. He couldn't be seen in these filthy beggar Namek's rags.

Picking up the pace, Panaka started to run at a more brisk speed as the extra weight on his back he figured would be beneficial. He'd not owned any weighted clothing himself but from stories it could benefit him greatly, and there was a hint of what it might be with it having someone on his back. Thinking on how he could get to the other areas he had a feeling he could physically do most things that would be required but the amount of time may be a bit longer than Garlic Jr would prefer. Listening to him talk about Dende it made him wonder again about his intentions and he simply replied, "He was not a usurper. He came from a peaceful race, and has a healing ability which is very befitting of a being in the role of Guardian of the Earth." Thinking on what Garlic said about a nice planet Panaka knew that he had nothing to compare it to as he nodded, "I have nothing to compare it to, I have heard of the beauties of Planet Namek both the original and the newer but I have never been elsewhere. I do feel that Earth has beauty, and I would gain more strength to help protect it if possible similar to some of the heroic stories I have heard growing up."

They reached a fork in the road and though he could have kept going Garlic Jr. commented on the fact that he couldn't fly and he started to climb down. Nodding he sighed as he talked about his former master, "Yes, my master actually was going to head to Planet Namek when he left our village years ago. It was mostly my sire's in an attempt to keep me from wandering on my own who had suppressed the teaching of flight before he left, and to keep the peace no one else would teach me either." Thinking on the comment of pupil he thought about what power this smaller person must know and his eyes lit up a little bit, "The thought of having a new master does intrigue me, especially one who once held the title of Guardian of the Earth. But I definitely do not think I would ever want to be a monarch myself."

Although he still wasn't a hundred percent sold on the fact that he was a displaced guardian he still tried to trust everyone by default, and Garlic Jr. had given him no reason to doubt him. Now if he would or not wasn't any concern of his. Part of him also wanted to ask about what a Spice Boy was, if it was maybe the name of his race, or another brand of alien altogether, but he resisted the urge to ask. Being too inquisitive had been something that his former master had called him out on a few times. Listening to Garlic Jr. mention whirly birds and helicopters it made Panaka once again realize just how little of the world he knew about. Having never heard of them he wasn't sure he wanted to call that fact out the way the other person had reacted when he found out he could fly. Now the energy part he could recognize, though he had focused mostly on keeping up with his physical technique he had learned about basic energy control. Nodding he spread his legs out to shoulder width and straightened his arms, and started to try focusing his energy the way it seemed Garlic Jr had tried to show him before he showed what appeared to be more frustration.

Shutting out the entire world similar to what he might do in meditation, he allowed himself to cut out all external sensations outside of sound which he was able to dull to an extent as well. Now that he'd managed to do that he continued his inward focus until he felt what he desired, the flow of energy and he started to manipulate it towards the base of his body. The air around him started to ripple as it was charged with stray energy while he lost some of the gathered energy that wasn't able to be channeled as effectively. Feeling the energy flowing through him made him want to draw more in but he resisted and instead tried to focus the energy downwards, and he felt as if he was successful as his palms felt aglow, while he tried to focus more of the energy towards his feet as well. It was almost intoxicating to feel the energy, and though he knew he had a lot to learn it definitely made him appreciative that he'd been able to learn about the concept, though his parents had still tried holding out hope he'd end up changing his mind on what he wanted to study.

Releasing the energy there was a small outward burst around both of his hands though not in the way of an energy blast, as he actually managed to lift himself off the ground slowly. His eyes remained closed as he felt almost lighter than he truly was given that he still hadn't realized he had left the ground, it felt as if the pressure against his body was a little greater so he opened his eyes. Looking around he noticed that he was higher up based on the trees to either side of him were closer to eye level, and then he did what people always said never to do and he looked down. Even as he had looked around he had managed to raise himself so he was above the tree line, and he spoke down, "I believe this is close to the desired goal Master? I -..." Breaking his concentration while he was still trying to verify if he had it right was a bit much as it required him to open his other senses, and between that along with seeing the ground from this angle put him in a bit of a vertigo state. His concentration fled, and with it he started to hurtle towards the ground. Barely having the sense to thrust his hands earthward he fired a small ki wave from both hands before he hit the ground. The energy helped to slow his fall enough that he only lost his wind when he landed as he rubbed his head, "I believe I still have some work to do but I should be able to try getting to where I can assist getting you to your abode."

The next thought he was sure to keep to himself as he let the stray thought in and then out, in one piece I hope.

Garlic Jr. tilted his head as he listened to Panaka explain how this Dende came from a peaceful place and could heal people. "Well, at least he sounds more useful to the people than Kami. All that guy ever gave us was Dragon Balls." Garlic Jr. said with a little sinister grin as he rode Panaka's shoulder, why was it sinister? Why, those Dragon Balls had given this Makyan the gift of immortality, and that basically made him impervious to anything that could kill him, thus it should have meant he should be Guardian Of Earth, he could run the place forever!

"Well, Earth is a nice place. Maybe not nicer than where I come from...well where I used to come from. Sadly, that place no longer exists thanks to the allies who aided Kami." Garlic Jr. said in a frustrated tone, the mere thought of his home world being destroyed after he had used it to help himself out of the Dead Zone the last time he was on Earth. The mere thought of everyone he could call his people were destroyed in a very instant, and it was all thanks to that little bastard brat Gohan. He would make sure that little kid would pay, he'd have to be an adult now...maybe he'd have a wife and a couple kids...yeah, he'd start with them. Let Gohan know that one does commit mass genocide of an entire race and destroy his home world and get away with it.

"Well that seems like a bum deal. They teach you some basics but leave out the most important one. That's not quite right in my eyes. I mean, if you have wings...why not use them?" Garlic Junior said with a snicker. "A being should be able to go freely as they please, I mean...it's only right, don't you think? I think it highly unfair that they would purposefully train you wrong. What are you? Some kind of tribe clown or something? Get into mischief much?" Garlic Junior asked, wondering if there was a dark side to manipulate in this young Namekian. There had to be something in there that Garlic could find, and take advantage of. It would make things go a lot easier.

Garlic listened to Panaka begin to praise him, but then it came out like a backhanded compliment and Garlic Junior couldn't help but squint his eyes and give a sneer. "You don't want to be a superior warrior? You don't want power to protect the things dearest to you? Your family is in trouble and you can't get to them in time, but hey, maybe if they taught you how to fly maybe you could have! A Monarch is never left in the dark that way. You are properly armed and prepared to take care of yourself and those you care about in this world." Garlic Junior was a little persnickety, but with matters of importance. Garlic Junior realizes he may have come on a little strong, letting his tone lighten up. "But hey, first lessons on the house. I'll teach you to fly no problem." Garlic said with as friendly as he could muster chuckle.

Garlic Junior watched as Panaka went through the steps, listening to what he said and applying it to the real world. Every movement was precise, it was well documented by Garlic Junior that this kid had a knack for doing what he was told. Garlic Junior could feel something inside him, something like a dull sense. It was fuzzy, and muddled by some kind of interference but whatever it was, this young Namekian was stirring it inside of his regressed powers. Garlic Jr. smirked as he watched the Namekian begin to float up, getting a good distance off the Earth. Garlic Jr. waddled over at a high speed and swatted his fist through the air victoriously. "What'd I tell ya!? You're a natural! In no time you'll be like a blade through grass in the skies!" Guess what he means by that is very swift. Garlic Junior bent his knees and with all the strength his tiny body could muster he sprung up into the air, catching Panaka by his pant leg, he quickly pulled himself up like a simian in a tree, getting back onto his shoulder as he peered over the Namekian's head. "Alright, we need to head south. You know which way South is...right?" Garlic Junior said, hoping somebody in this poor Namekian's life took a minute to teach him about what direction was which.
