With a light grumble, Gohan made his way through Haven's streets as he glanced around curiously. He really hated being inside cities like this, especially one that seemed so heavily influenced by technology and the way it was so urbanized, it made Gohan feel like a stranger in the world when he walked around this place. If he had any other choice, he wouldn't have come to this place. Unfortunately for him though, this was the place where his mother had decided she was going to reside with her new husband. Supposedly, she really seemed to enjoy being here or something because this whole place was ran by her husband, but Gohan couldn't see the appeal from it. The city was too loud, the people were typically obnoxious, and crime tended to happen every time he was in a city. So far even now, the first two of the three grievances seemed to hold true.

"Better get used to it... Ugh..." Gohan mumbled to himself as he figured he would have to be coming here a lot to see his own mother. But even if he had to come here, he didn't have to like it. He move forward in quick strides as he made his way to the dojo where his mother supposedly residing and trained her students in. He hadn't heard much about the dojo itself from asking around, only where it was and how poor of a choice it would be to make trouble there or anywhere else in the city. Gohan personally knew that, having been born from the woman, but he wondered just what others thought about his mother. He could imagine her as being a rather strict teacher, not totally unlike Piccolo, since she did have a rather scary side to her that showed when she was really mad. Hopefully he wouldn't end up walking in on her scolding her students.

After quite a bit of pacing, Gohan eventually found himself standing at the doors to Chi's dojo, looking at it curiously. It actually looked pretty nice and humble as opposed to some other parts of the city. He should've expected as much of his mother despite how much she may or may not have changed over time. She was a princess so it goes to figure she'd have quite a bit of taste when it came to nice old traditional design. He gripped the door of the dojo, hesitating a bit. Would she even want him to be here right now? His mother didn't exactly hate him as far as he knew, but last time the two met was when he had caused her to get quite a bit upset. He doubted that it would come to that over a simple request for training again, but he didn't want to stir up bad memories if she was still holding some.

Finally after a bit of internal conflict, he gripped the side of the door and slid it open. Looking inside, he decided to call out to make sure his mother knew just who it was that had came. "Hey mom. You here?" he questioned as he waited for a response if any, going to walk into the dojo slowly.

The raven haired mother practiced her stances alone and in her dojo. She interchanged from one stance to another. Elegantly, yet fiercely she would either send a vicious side kick or tone it down with a light side step. It was the typical warm up she had before every training session she had in the dojo. Her dojo ,which was located at the edge of the city within the Final Heaven military camp, was often visited or run into by cadets that were lost on their way to the boot camp her husband services for the military only a mile from the dojo. In most cases, the individuals who entered through her doors were lost kids that needed a point in the right direction or the wrong one depending on how one saw it.

She exhaled and inhaled in a rhythmic manner. It calmed her insides. Her controlled breathing was vital. It made her strikes more lethal. There were beads of sweat that glimmered from her forehead. Upon hearing a voice, she stopped what she was doing and turned towards the dojo doors. She grabbed a towel, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and let her arms rest at her sides. Her long locks of hair fell over her shoulders. She no longer tied her hair back as she did when she was younger or in times of fights. The freedom of it fell nicer. At the same time, she was alone and in no need to keep her hair tied back.

"Gohan? Is that you?" She asked in disbelief at first. His distinct voice separated him from her Gohan that currently lived and worked in the city as a doctor.

"Gohan! What a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here son ?" She smiled because her first meeting with him was awkward. She imagined it was not for training that he came to visit her. For this reason, she did not put a formal appearance that she had for other students that entered into her dojo. He was a formidable fighter with his fists and his mind. She made sure the mind part was added into that. This Gohan, despite not as educated as the one in the present, was as intelligent. There was no doubt about it.

Gohan smiled a bit at the sight of his mother, watching her swipe the sweat from her forehead as he could tell she must had been doing some hard work before he arrived. His mother never was one to half ass something. He supposed that was the reason why he had even came in the first place. Chi knew just how to get things done and she could get it done with both elegance and poise anyways. Gohan planned to have a reunion with Piccolo at some point, but for now he knew that a little bit of family bonding wouldn't hurt him. His mother was stronger than he originally had thought and perhaps she had changed her ideas of training him since he was a little kid, Gohan really not wanting to end up going home from this with books full of homework.

"Hey mom." he said, the smile widening a bit as his mother acknowledged him. She seemed to be in a pretty good mood with all things considered. Out of everyone who Gohan had ran into, she was the first to recognize that he was not the same one that was from this time. She knew her son like only a mother truly could and it was something Gohan really appreciated. As far as he knew, he was nothing like the other Gohan who'd gone to become a doctor and he didn't really want to be either. Taking care of people's health and treating the sick was important, sure, but there were regular people who could do that. Gohan was special in the sense he had potential that he had to unleash. He couldn't just let that potential be wasted on a regular life when there might be people in the world who would severely need him. "I won't lie. This isn't exactly the social visit I would like it to be. Needless to say, a lot have things have changed since I was in the future. After learning some things I did and falling out of touch with my life... I don't know. I lack the skills, the training, the discipline I once had. That's why I thought of you. You're an amazing woman and I know that if I learned under you, I could reach that potential I once had again. So please..." he said, bowing his head down to her in a formal fashion. "Please take me on as a student."

Her smile faded at Gohan's words. Intently, she listened to her son's reasoning for why he entered into her dojo. He felt like he was out of practice, lacked discipline, and that he was genuinely out of touch with the world. For a mother, it was difficult to hear that her son felt this way. Her heart reached out to him because, unlike her son in the present, this Gohan had a harder life. It was difficult to listen to because she had a glimpse of what the future was like when her future husband came to the present. He was a monster and broken at that. It wasn't only he who had scars of the nightmarish world. Her daughter too. The three individuals were more rugged, more out of tune with the good that life had to bring.

She would have blushed at his comment if it weren't for how serious the situation was.

"You don't need to flatter me son." She rest her hand on his arm.

"I would be honored to have you as a student. I do think that you should also return to studying. I have those study tapes too that you could use while you sleep. It'd be excellent for training your mind too. After all, you don't want to be a muscle bound thug without a brain do you?" She glanced at him with a serious expression at first, but with the tone of her voice he could hint that she was joking. Her stance on studying remained the same. While she was no as strict as she was before or with Goten, she did believe it helped the mind grow. However, this Gohan, along with her own, were adults now. She knew that and tossed her joke aside.

"It's in your blood. You are your father's son and fighting runs in our family. Whatever you think you have lost, you haven't. It's still there. I can see it. I can feel it." She pointed to his heart. To make him feel like he wasn't a beginner, she told him the truth. This also presented her with an opportunity.

"We could both learn from one another." She realized that this Gohan was more in tuned with his aggression than her own. Her Gohan would only hurt those who were truly evil. Even then, he was not as eager to fight as this one. Gohan, in the present, had limitless potential, but he preferred to save lives rather than take them. He saved lives with his mind rather than his fists.

"Gatz wont let me battle on the front lines because he feels that I don't have the experience to handle those cruel monsters that you had to endure in your timeline. Those delinquents are here too. He knows that I'm a skilled fighter. It's why he had this dojo built for me, but still he refuses to have me fight alongside him and maybe with your help I can change his opinion. He is a hard head about these things especially now that I had baby recently. He is more protective than your grandfather was with me when I was a kid. It can be quite frustrating." She glanced up at him and wondered what her son thought. Would he be the same way? Would he see her as a risk on the battlefield rather than an asset?

As Gohan felt his mother's touch on his arm, he initially wanted to pull away. Although he halted himself and relaxed comfortable into her touch. Despite the fact he had made his way back to the past, he still wasn't completely comfortable with the whole situation. He was hardened from the future and because of that, he hated being in any position where he might leave himself heavily vulnerable. The fact she could grab his arm right now and force her down, despite being his loving and caring mother, was something that wouldn't stop nudging at his mind. Likewise, when he was near others, his mind automatically began to think about different ways he could try to take them down. It wasn't intentional, but instead it was an instinct that had evolved in his mind.

As she explained her willingness to teach him and how he should continue studying, he looked up to her, gazing into her black eyes. She knew how to make him smile even when he was trying his best to be serious. Giving a goofy grin, he nodded his head a bit. "Heh heh... I suppose I really shouldn't forget my education. It was always important to you and I have fallen behind by quite a bit."

Then she explained the way fighting was just simply natural to the family. He had to admit that she was certainly right. Everyone that Gohan had known growing up was a fighter in some way, even master Roshi who had appeared to just simply be an old pervert but was actually quite the martial arts master who had trained not only his father but also his grandpa. From what he could tell, his mother was quite the fighter too and even his brother. Even after leaving Goku, Chi-Chi had gone and married yet another fighter. Perhaps it was fate that decided these paths for everyone or perhaps it was just simply chance. Either way, these were the paths they were bound to and he had no trouble walking it. "When I come to think of it, fighting is just something that has always been natural to me. Maybe it was because of my saiyan blood. Maybe it's because I simply inherited my mother's fierce nature. Either way, I'm thankful for the gifts I have been given."

"From each other? With all due respect mother, I'm not sure if I could teach you anywhere near as much as you could to me. You have far more experience than I do and your wisdom runs deep too. But I don't have much to offer." he said in response to the two learning each other. It was something that he didn't truly understand because she was already so amazing and he had been reduced to struggling with his own weakness now. He hated it so much that he would beat himself up if it would do any good. But right now, he needed to be at one hundred percent if he was going to go around in this time and help right the wrongs.

Though he was a bit shocked by the last thing he heard her say. He understood that Gatz was quite protective of what he considered his, but to go as far as to tell Chi Chi that she wasn't allowed to go and fight on the front lines? That was something that Gohan couldn't understand. He knew his mother was a very important person that the enemy wanted to capture, but she was also a capable fighter with so much to offer. "I'm not sure he would ever listen to anything I had to say. We don't exactly agree on much when it comes down to our views. But I don't get why he won't let you fight though. There are tons of good things that could come from it. Like morale for the soldiers or being able to capture more important targets. Besides that, you've been fighting since before I was born. There's no reason why he should think you don't have the experience." he said with a shake of his head at the thought of Gatz trying to restrict his mother from fighting. "I'll try to help you if I can. You're my mother after all and I'd do anything if it meant making you happy."

In a similar way, Gohan got her to smile too. Her first born son had a special place in her heart because he endured the worst of situations. He got her through the hard times when Goku wasn't around. She recalled the sadness she felt when her son told her that Goku died for a second time versus the evil bug monster named Cell. It was worse because she was pregnant. It broke her, but with her son at her side, she was able to get through the tough times. He stepped in, helped when he could, and never gave her trouble. He was a good son. She could tell this Gohan would do the same although he was more hardened by the battles he went.

His scars were a reminder that this Gohan was far more feral than her own. She felt his tension when she touched his arm. He was likely not used to affection. From what he heart of her future self, she was a monster in the other dimension. Anju never explained what happened after she traveled to the future. Whether or not her future self was alive, remained a mystery to the current Ox Princess.

"From each other? With all due respect mother, I'm not sure if I could teach you anywhere near as much as you could to me. You have far more experience than I do and your wisdom runs deep too. But I don't have much to offer."

"I am experienced, but I don't know everything Gohan. Even as a master, you will learn new things everyday. It's important to remember that. She told him before he went into the response about her proposition. He was eager to help convince Gatz that she was a valuable asset to the front lines rather than a risk. Unfortunately, she knew him too well. She was usually able to change his mind on most subjects except when it came to her safety.

"Thank you son. I appreciate your help. Gatz does know that I bring morale to his cadets. It is why he has allowed me to train them after his vigorous and brutal workouts he puts them through here in Final Heaven. I sometimes feel sorry for those poor boys. They don't know what they get themselves into. I do know that it is necessary. I remember my training as a kid with your grandfather. It was never easy." She shook her head and decided to tell Gohan a old tale about his dad.

Posted Image

"Believe it or not your father was like Gatz too. Before I married your father, he tended to shield me, leave me behind, or tell me that he had to do it alone. He wasn't as mean about it as Gatz was, but it was still the same concept. He even left me alone with a bunch of miserable Oolongs who almost got a peak at me while I was at a nice, hot tub. They would have if it were no for my sharp ears. Your Grandfather's castle was on fire, and we had to find the bansho fan to put out the flames. We went everywhere to find it including the Kame House. We tried to find Master Roshi for the Bansho fan, but he was still at the tournament and probably to find young girls. Ugh, what a disgusting old pervert." She avoided smiling because of how vile Master Roshi was. He was an old man and a wise master, yet she was not fond of her interests. Of course, her father neglected to tell her about Roshi's tendencies. She had to discover it the hard way.

"I think after we had that adventure together your father truly did not want to see me fight at his side. Secretly, I enjoyed that adventure. It was truly incredible and fun. Once we got married and I was pregnant with you, I settled down. I focused on my responsibilities of taking care of you. The desire to fight with you and your dad was there inside of me though. It was in my blood as it was in yours. Your grandpa wouldn't let me go with you, and well I listened because I didn't want to be the reason either of you got hurt. I guess I have that effect on men. You would think that after I defeated a big, ugly dinosaur at the age of 12 that they would be a little more trusting in my ability. Gatz won't agree to me fighting on the front lines. I have tried, but he is as rigid as a rock. He is allergic to compromise and reason. He doesn't bend. The more you try to push at it the more he ignores it. Anju has tried as well. He won't budge on this. For now, lets not worry about it. We can worry about me later. " She took a step away from him and rest her arms on her hips.

"Well young man if you want to train under me then so it shall be. I warn you though. I won't go easy on you because you are my son. I expect discipline and hard work. You will not address me as your mother until your training is finished" She told him with seriousness.

"Before it's official, would you like a tour of Final Heaven? A walk would be nice. " She asked him.

While initially he had resisted her touch, now Gohan was seeming to find a bit of comfort in it instead. The woman wasn't exactly his mother per say, but she was the same person he remembered her to be. A loving parent that knew how to make Gohan feel better when things got him down, even if they were stupid little things that held little if any consequence. She was an amazing woman in the way she could become a raging inferno on her opponents while remaining a loving guardian for her children. When Gohan had trained Trunks to fight, he originally was going to do it the same way Mister Piccolo had done to him at a far younger age, but he supposed he had ended up inheriting his mother's compassionate nature as he couldn't bring himself to be near as brutal to the purple haired bastard child as he had once hoped to be when he would train his own children.

But was it this compassion that had made him fail Trunks? Gohan had met the misfortune of his demise at the hands of his two long time enemies after he knocked the the boy out. He had cared far too much for Trunks' safety to allow him to enter the fray of such brutal combat, thinking that he wasn't ready and he would only end up dead. But perhaps this had been his mistake because he hadn't trained Trunks hard enough like he had originally planned to. Sure, he beat Trunks in every spar the two of them had since he was so young, but he'd never go as far as to take it the step further that Piccolo did by absolutely brutalizing the teen. It seemed harsh, but damned if his old teacher's training hadn't been effective. And if Trunks had been stronger, perhaps he could've channeled his anger better towards his transformation. Perhaps Gohan wouldn't have ended up disappearing from his life so abruptly.

But that didn't matter now. His former student was definitely a man by now and Gohan was sure he would be a proud warrior. Chi was certainly right, even a master didn't know everything. Maybe Trunks would have reached his full potential if Gohan pushed harder, but he would never know now. That was far too long in the past and he had to move on from that. The only thing that mattered right now was that he would become stronger for the sake of the future and everybody in it.

"I do understand that Gatz is just trying to be protective, but what if you had never let me gone to Namek mother? Maybe things would have turned out the same way, but what if we wouldn't had been able to revive the other Z warriors. Everyone gets an opportunity and you still have yours mom. Maybe you staying here is for the best, but maybe things would turn out better if you were on the front lines. It's too hard for us to simply decide. I may be from the future, but even I don't think I have the answers that you were hoping for." Gohan spoke in response to her second comment. From what he had seen of the future so far, the whole plan of "keeping Chi Chi held back on safety" was not the right way to go as the androids had done quite some damage on his timeline. But he couldn't just flat out tell her that all she's done so far could be the exact wrong choice she could make. He would have to start nudging his presence into the past, trying to alter the events for the better this time.

Gohan found himself quite surprised by Chi Chi's story, not having expected to be told Goku was the kind to to try sheltering his wife from all dangers. His father had came to Gohan's rescue initially the first time Gohan was captured by a Saiyan invader, but he certainly didn't have any problems with Gohan participating in conflict afterwards. Was it that he saw Chi Chi as not ready because she wasn't a Saiyan like himself or his rival Vegeta? That couldn't be it. He'd still let Krillin go out to fight and the other human Z-Fighters. Then was it because she was a woman? Gohan couldn't understand that idea since he let Bulma head into dangerous places all the time, even if she never was really directly involved in battle. Besides that, Gohan had scene first hand how females could be just as dangerous as males, having had to worry about one constantly in the future.

Then Gohan's mind finally formulated a reason that he could actually see making sense. It was possible that Goku just simply didn't care about Gohan as much as he cared about Chi Chi. The very thought making Gohan shake a bit as he tried to find errors with the reasoning. But despite all his attempts, nothing in his memories seemed to contradict the thought. Gohan was shocked to think of it in such a way, but how else was he supposed to take it? His mother was just as much of a fierce fighter as other warriors, but she didn't get to fight. It seemed to be the only reasoning that could make sense for Gohan after enough thinking.

But he didn't want his mother to see his troubling realization, focusing his thoughts on something else. Another great father figure that he had in his life, the one who had trained him. Smiling yet again as he thought on memories, he began to speak. "I never really got to be sheltered from fighting I supposed. After some horrible Saiyan tried to abduct me and Goku sacrificed himself for my life, that was the day my life changed. Please don't be angry at him for what I'm about to tell you, but it was actually around that time that Piccolo had taken me from the battlefield and started my training for when the saiyan invaders would arrive. It was hard as a kid. He beat me savagely without ever holding back, making me go to sleep covered in cuts and bruises. But in the end, it was good that it went that way. I learned many things from Piccolo and I don't just mean his moves. He taught me things like respect and self discipline. He thought he was forging me for the fight that was close at hand, but instead he had given me something to carry all my life. We bonded in a strange way. That's why it broke my heart to see him sacrifice himself to protect me when I wish I would had been stronger. He was my first teacher, but he also treated me like I was his son. Despite that, he was always ready to stand at my side when we were going into battle. Likewise, I was always happy to see he was there to watch over me. That's what I believe true companionship is. What my father did and what Gatz is doing just isn't right to me. He should be out there fighting at your side instead of keeping you here like this mother. You're strong enough and you've got more more than enough will. To keep you here is a waste of all the great things you could do." He said, letting out a sigh as he finally finished his rather long story. He would've left out as much as he could, but he felt every single detail was important to include as it showed how the two had developed over time.

Then she took back and got serious, surprising Gohan a bit. But that's not to say he was disappointed in least, quite the opposite actually. He needed stern guidance from her if he ever was going to improve. Smiling a bit, he quickly nodded his comment and gave another quick bow. "Yes Master Ox."

Then she offered him a tour. While Gohan certainly held a strong dislike for the city and all its entirety, there were definitely reasons to go on the tour with her. One of the first being whether he liked it or not, he still needed to learn the area. The second was that it would give him a chance to spend more time with his mother outside of training which was certainly what he was hoping for anyways. Giving her a quick nod, he spoke with a little excitement. "I would be honored to accompany you."

The conversation between the mother and the son became deeper than she originally intended. Once she finished her little history about Gohan's father, Gohan told her secrets that not even her present son had told her. He went into his past and why he saw that it was not fair that she was held back or protected as she was. He brought up several points that caught her attention especially the one about Namek. When he went to Namek, she literally died that day inside. It was difficult for her to swallow. She sent her young son into space. While she was proud of him for his bravery, she truly did not like it.

"I do understand that Gatz is just trying to be protective, but what if you had never let me gone to Namek mother?"

"I don't think I had a choice son. You would have gone whether I tied you to a bed. Unlike your father or you, I couldn't let go of my responsibilities. I did it so that your father and you could do as you wished, pursue your dreams. It was a sacrifice I don't regret making for the both of you. You did become stronger from that experience, but I died little bit inside when I sent my baby son into space. There is no mother in their right mind that would want that. The only reason I let you was because i knew you were different, special." She nodded to him. It was hard for her to accept that her son would never be a normal boy who could go to school and enjoy the finer luxuries in life. His uniqueness, however, did bring a pride in her son like no other.

"I never really got to be sheltered from fighting I supposed. After some horrible Saiyan tried to abduct me and Goku sacrificed himself for my life, that was the day my life changed."

"Argh, don't remind me of that delinquent. I specifically recall Krillin coming to my home and not telling me a thing. I was worried sick about both of you. It was a miracle I didn't get premature wrinkles." It was their own family member that kidnapped her son. Goku's brother was a terrible monster from what she was told. She sighed because most of the time she was left in the dark about her own family. If she wasn't the daughter of the Ox King, she might have lost her mind.

"Bleh, that nasty Piccolo." She muttered to herself in irritation. She thought when Gohan brought up Piccolo. The mention of that green man caused her blood to boil and her eyes to narrow. At first, she truly despised the green monster because he almost killed her ex husband. He was a cruel individual who, she at first, thought he kidnapped Gohan. It wasn't until Gohan told her that he truly liked his time with Piccolo that she decided not to hurt the green man where he stood. Throughout the years, she grew accustomed to seeing him and did not dislike him as much as she did when she first met him. She even cooked for him when he stayed around. It was a relationship she had to get used to since her son admired the man. It was a good thing that Piccolo changed or else she might have

"I wish he could have told me at least where you were." She butted in while he explained why he held Piccolo in such high regard. The fact that PIccolo risked his life for her son caused her narrowed eyed expression to soften. She knew this. She was told this. She exhaled profoundly. He was a better father figure than she thought. If Gohan grew up to be a fine young man in both timelines, it was obvious that the green monster she always despised was not as bad as she wanted to believe. While she listened, her arms folded across her chest. Gohan wanted to make sense of the situation between Gatz and herself. He said it wasn't right. It wasn't right, but what else could she do?

"Piccolo is not what I expected I can tell you that much." She made a small comment before she went into the meat and potatoes of what Gohan tried to make sense of.

"Gatz is different son. He feels that if something were to happen to me, he would not be able to control his urges to hurt others. Your sister comes from the same timeline that you do. She told me were you and your father were already gone when she was born. I can imagine that I had a difficult time moving on when that happened, but I eventually did when Gatz came into my life. The red ribbon delinquents you fought were gone too. There were many terrible things she told me about the future, and the worst was what I had become. I was a terrible mother, a monster that hurt innocent people. Gatz turned into a monster shortly after I was taken from my birth bed. When I met this future father of my future daughter, he was cold, lifeless, and an absolute psychotic. I couldn't believe it was the same man that I fell in love with. How could I fall for a man so cruel and heartless? He told me that the Black Bow delinquents took me from him only hours after I had given birth to Anju. I was weak, exhausted, and I couldn't defend myself. He tried his best to protect Anju and me. Thankfully, Anju he was able to protect Anju. As for me, I was stripped from his arms. After they took me, he searched for me. He eventually did find me, but I was already too far gone. I hurt him despite his advances to save me. I was an angel of death he said. He told me his life was a living nightmare and that he would continue murdering the world until his nightmare was over. The very world he sought to rescue turned on him. The one person he wanted by his side was taken from him. He hated the world. He hated the people so he killed them for what they did to him. It didn't matter if they were innocent. In his eyes, they were guilty. This is what he said to me. He didn't even talk to our daughter because he blamed himself for what happened to me. My daughter told me that he would watch her from the shadows and that he was brutal with her. He wanted her to hate him. He had Mister Phoenix look after her because he didn't want his daughter to know that he had failed her mother. I don't think this Gatz wants the same fate in this world. He doesn't like appearing weak. He hates failure." She told Gohan the truth about his nature.

"For some reason, he lets Anju fight on the front lines. He is similar to your father. They never had problems allowing their children go onto the battlefield. I always wondered why that was. I never asked why, but I do believe I know why. It is not that they care any less for their children No, that's not it. I know Gatz adores Anju as Goku does Goten and yourself. They would die for their family without hesitation. I believe it's because they see themselves in their children. Gatz once told me that the reason he let Anju fight was because she was a beast too. I dislike that term. Anju is a beautiful beast I suggested. He doesn't think the words beautiful and beast go together, but too bad. He won't change my mind." She commented slyly, but continued.

"Gatz said she had his instincts. I see why he thinks that way and when he told me that I thought about my child hood. Your grandfather did let me fight. He trained me. It is probably because he saw a little bit of himself in me too." She reminded Gohan about his grandfather.

"There are moments where I get annoyed with Gatz because of how unfair his treatment is of me. I understand it though. Since I am neither a Saiyan or a beast, I might not have the instincts to fight against the delinquents. I once told him that your grandfather was a killer. He hurt many people when I was a child. I never saw him kill a man, but I did hear their screams and see the bones that were left behind. He told me they were stinky treasure hunters that needed to pay for their crimes. I don't think all of them were. Those type of tragedies change people. I was told that it was a miracle my heart remained pure despite how cruel my young life was. Your grandfather was hard on me. When your the daughter of the Mighty Ox King, you always have to behave well. After I told Gatz about my child hood, he told me he saw me as a fresh patch of snow that he didn't want the troublemakers to dirty. I never asked why. He wouldn't tell me either. He doesn't like taking about feelings, and when I try, it's like talking to a wall. I guess he wishes to shelter me from the evil monsters in the world even though I am well capable of handling myself. Men are quite odd including your father." She shook her head. After her short discussion, she smiled when Gohan offered to accompany her on a tour.

"Well let's go then." Her arm wrapped around Gohan's. With a slight tug, she led him out of the dojo to the big military base that usually had tourists marvel at its size. It took her months to get adjusted to how big it was.

Gohan couldn't help but to be a little bit surprised by her comment over Namek. While he expected that maybe she would be upset, he certainly hadn't considered quite the severity of his actions. But he could imagine it must had been pretty hard for her to consider. With Gohan coming straight from one battle only to go to another without too much time in between, he understood how his mother worried and felt awful. It must had been horribly lonely at the house without Gohan or Goku around to brighten up her day. The fact that every time they defeated one threat, a new one appeared probably wasn't much better for her either. It made it hard for him to live a normal life up until the androids attacked where his path had to be chosen for him. That was around the same time he stopped seeing his mom altogether due to lack of time. She must have felt horrible worrying about him going off to fight androids while she was sitting at home. For a few seconds there, only the word "Selfish" repeated itself to Gohan as he thought of his past, feeling terrible for what he had put his mother through.

Then there was the Krillin comment. The little guy had only been doing his best to try not making Chi Chi overreact or at least that's what Gohan would had liked to think. He knew his mother and sometimes she could be the scariest person on the planet even if she wasn't always the strongest. Besides that, Gohan wouldn't doubt that Krillin didn't try bringing Gohan back because the monk probably didn't even know where to find Gohan in the first place. Even if he did, Mister Piccolo surely would had crushed the smaller man if it came down to it. Next to Goku, he was the strongest of the group at that time. Even if all the other z-fighters had tried to defeat him, without Goku, it probably wouldn't had done much against the namekian warrior. He was Goku's rival for a while after all.

"If he had told you, you might have ended up just taking me home though. You did want me to really focus on studying back then." He said in a teasing fashion, smiling a bit. His mother had wanted him to be this very educated, successful guy who would have a great career and a great life. It's not like he didn't turn out pretty successful in the end. The problem was that it was given to someone else while the Mirai copy had been left with struggles and worry as well as the absence of anyone to truly assist him in his fight. He didn't really know the other Gohan, but that guy better had been grateful for everything he had now.

It was there that Gohan listened intently to her talk about Gatz, learning things he had never really known about the android. Though he couldn't allow his perception of the terror to be changed so easily. What Gohan saw was someone who ran the risk of going insane with each passing day if he really was that attached to Chi like the terror claimed to be. Even if nothing happened to Gohan's mother, which he had no intention of allowing to happen, he was easy to set off and that made him a bomb waiting to detonate. Gohan already had a strong distrust androids and aliens in general, but Gatz was something else entirely. If Gohan was going to have to be near the man, he was going to keep his eyes on the guy.

"Right. Let's go then." He said as he feel her wrap her arm around his, making him smile a bit. "I'm sure this will be fun."

"What mother wouldn't want their son to be a successful Scholar?" The serious conversation lightened. She figured it was better that way. Her son, from the future, already had a difficult time. As a mother, it was her job to keep her son happy and make him feel at home. His serious demeanor was respectable and one that mirrored her own. However, she did not want his entire life to be one of discipline and fear. There was more to life than fighting. He wanted to regain his fighting prowess. While she would help him as she promised, she mentally assigned herself as the one who'd get this Gohan to cherish life once again.

Her arms released Gohan's once they reached the area where the cadets walked to the next part of their schedules. There were several who nodded at her, but then looked away to avoid further.

"Greetings Mrs. Gatz. I hope you have a nice day." The boy said with his head down and brushed by in a hurry.

The Ox Princess sighed when the boy did not gaze at her eyes when he told her hello. Faintly, she smiled at the ones who were polite enough to greet her. She walked alongside her taller son. The buildings in the Final Heaven base were enormous. It was almost like a maze. It was no wonder so many of the cadets got lost. She recalled how she almost got lost herself.

"Do you see that large building in the distance? It's the headquarters. I know this may sound strange, but I gave birth there to your sister in that building in Gatz's office. It was a day before this place opened too. She decided not to wait for me to reach the hospital. Like her father, she had a horrible sense of timing. " She shook her head in disbelief and laughed at her luck. The night ended up being rather nice despite the agony she was in without anesthesia or a proper doctor to help deliver the baby. Thankfully, Gatz and Paul were there although she blamed them in the first place. They should have taken her to the hospital. She avoided telling Gohan the truth as to why she did not make it there. Once more , Gatz was set in his ways and did not want a strange doctor to eye her. Her eyes rolled at Gatz's odd thoughts sometimes.
