Gohan had no clue of his mother's plans, far too focused on learning about the location of significant areas of the base as he looked around, taking in all the sights. If Chi Chi was ever going to get a military, Gohan figured it would have been something having to do with his grandpa instead of trying to start what seemed like a new world order. The idea that she had accomplished things such as this along with Gatz was a bit impressive, although Gohan also had to wonder just what kind of person had Chi become and would she still be the same loving caretaker he had known upon learning more about her?

Then his eyes moved over the cadets as they began walking to somewhere unknown to Gohan. The way they referred to her was certainly something he wasn't too proud of, but he'd let it go for now. Though Gohan had to admit something internally. "What kind of guy has Gatz for his first and last name?"

Looking through the large compound, Gohan could guess that Chi and Gatz had certainly kept busy. A proper base for a proper military was probably the best way to put it, the two reflecting each other. The base was only going to look as good as the skill of the soldiers who kept it running. Then Chi decided to announce the way she'd given birth to his sister not only in the military base headquarters but in Gatz' office of all places. It was just kind of a weird thing to admit out of nowhere but Gohan tried his best to seem casual about it. "I see. She seemed like a sweet girl to me... Well. For the twenty seconds I was holding her that is."

Gracefully, she walked alongside Gohan. She strolled alongside Gohan with her chin up and proper posture. She was casual though because she saw herself as the positive light in most of the cadet's lives. In this military camp, they were properly fed, clean, a comfortable place to sleep, and given all that they required to live. There were some who joined the Final Heaven military because they had no where else to be. Though Gatz reminded her that their time in Final Heaven would be brutal and that there were many who would indeed die, she made him assure her that he would supply them with what they needed to feel at home.

"I see. She seemed like a sweet girl to me... Well. For the twenty seconds I was holding her that is."

"She is. She is strong too like her father and her brothers. " She complimented Gohan.

"I don't think she will grow as tall though." She teased slyly. Her smile faded when she noticed several cadets walk out of the facility with faces that were bloodied. They were carried on stretchers to the medical ward. It was a common sight she saw although Gatz continuously reminded her to look away. She could not. It was part of training. She understood the harshness of it. While she disliked seeing people in pain, it was necessary for them to receive the training. The Red Ribbon Delinquents and the Black Bow Army Delinquents were cruel. The only individual who knew how truly bad they were was Gatz. For this reason, she trust in his judgement.

"It is awful isn't it?" Her voice lowered to a pained whisper. She did not glance at Gohan while she spoke. Her eyes were glued on the injured cadets. Her long locks of hair blew from the breeze.

"Your time was a nightmare and maybe this one will be too. I hope we will be ready when those troublemakers do decide to attack." She momentarily forgot about her promise to get Gohan from the future to smile.

Walking through the base with his mom was a strange feeling. Gohan figured if he'd ever gotten to take a walk with his parents before coming back here, it would be in somewhere nice like a park or a forest. Even a nice grassy clearing would had made for a good trip. But they were walking through some military base full of soldiers training to be sent to their death. Some would probably survive, most probably wouldn't come back though. That's what happened in battles and if these androids are as bad as people say then it's a mystery as to how these men will be able to shape up against the threat when the time comes.

As she complimented him, Gohan couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed by his mother. Her compliment about his strength was nice as well as the height one, something he had gotten from his father. His height served to establish his presence when he was in a room but it also just added to his general intimidation, much to Gohan's pleasure. Sometimes people just needed to look scary so others would know to leave them alone and the saiyan knew that. Though there was another sight that seemed to be just as intimidating to the man, though he would not allow his resolve to falter from it.

The sight of the cadets being dragged out with blood on their faces was indeed a pretty rough sight, even for the saiyan. The way that the cadets were being broken down to be built up was actually a pretty good way to train, but it looked like they may had been going too far with some of these men. Either way, hopefully they'd be able to last a bit when they would reach real combat. He looked to his mother as he heard a whisper, going to move his hand to gently pat her back a few times in an attempt to comfort her before shaking his head to her next comment. "It won't end up the same way. I'm going to work hard to ensure that, master Ox."

"It won't end up the same way. I'm going to work hard to ensure that, master Ox."

Chi-chi walked alongside her son. The sight of new cadets injured and carried on a stretcher to the medical ward was a difficult sight to see especially for a mother. There was no good mother in the world that wanted to see any child get hurt. Unfortunately, the world was not rainbows and butterflies as children liked to think it was. When Gohan was younger, as much as she desired for him to have a normal life, he could not. He was a man bred and destined to fight. It was in his blood. As for the wounded cadets, they wanted to better themselves whether they survived or not. It was a quality she admired and understood. Gatz, while an android, needed constant reminder that these cadets were not bred to kill like he was. They were kids in search of a better beginning.

"Master Ox? I guess that is a new one. I am sure your grandpa would be proud if he were here right now." She teased because it was not a name she was typically referred too. Ever since she was a kid, she never took interest in being a ruler to her father's kingdom despite being the only heir to it. She wanted more so to have a normal, enjoyable life where she raised a family and lived peacefully. There was no peace, therefore, her life could not be normal. The change in her thoughts wereinevitable though. In a similar fashion to Gohan, the need to better herself and fulfilled her destiny ran deep in her veins. She realized this when she trained Goten every afternoon while her older son Gohan studied.

"We should probably grab a bite to eat. We can talk more while we eat. If you are like my son in this timeline, I know you have an appetite."
Her serious expression softened to a more pleasant one. She did not want their little trip in the base to be a negative experience for her son from the future.

Gohan looked to his mother quietly as she brought up Grandpa. That did bring up a pretty good point for Gohan. Just where was Ox King during all of this mess? Gohan hadn't seen his grandfather all this time while Chi and Gatz were supposedly raising up this great army of theirs to fight the androids. He knew that the man was a bit older than most but he figured he would be here to whip some recruits into shape or to at least lend some of his own strength to the fight. Then again, he was a king after all. He couldn't be expected to attend every single event that would come up. Still though, it was a bit strange that Ox King wouldn't had been pledging his strength towards the war since he seemed to be pretty keen on fighting and all. "I'm glad to hear that. I was thinking that I should go and visit grandpa some time but I haven't really gotten the chance to yet." He said with a nod of his head towards the subject. A little bit of family bonding with grandpa surely wouldn't hurt all that much.

"I could ehm... I could eat." he said awkwardly as he hadn't really had a chance to get a good meal ever since he had came to the past. It was something he would definitely like to savor, especially if it was going to be his mother's cooking. He was happy that she decided to offer since he didn't want to end up bugging her for food, especially not if they were going to end up training together. Though he couldn't help but wonder what exactly their training was going to be like. He'd never gotten to fight with his mother or train with her or anything of the like as a child. Instead, she had him study every day like he had to memorize those lessons in order to save the world. It didn't seem very likely that Frieza would be defeated with a bit of algebra but who knows, the alien was rather strange to say the least.

"I'm glad to hear that. I was thinking that I should go and visit grandpa some time but I haven't really gotten the chance to yet."

Chi-chi walked alongside her son towards the cafeteria that as located near the boot camp areas where the cadets were forced through vigorous tests and training. There were screams in the background that she ignored as she was instructed too. While she led her son towards the cafeteria, she listened to him mention how he had not seen his grandfather in a long time. She had seen her father several months ago. He did not approve of her marriage with her husband at first because of how deep her father's respect for Grandpa Gohan was. He figured Goku and herself were destined to be. Sadly, that was not the case. Her father eventually came to terms with her marriage and why she left Goku in the first place. He understood that her duty was too her heart and that she too had the right to be happy. There was no good father in the world that would not want their child to be happy. It also helped that her husband rescued her father while she was six months pregnant with Anju. Since that day, her father was loyal to their cause and to their marriage.

"He would be thrilled to see you again Gohan. Do you remember when he used to buy you those books about bugs? You'd always be so grateful for them. I knew he would have rather you train though. " She rolled her eyes because it was the truth. Despite the oddness of her request towards her father, her dad never over stepped his boundaries. He respected her wishes and for the most part tried to make Gohan happy as best as he could.

"Good, you need to eat to be strong. You may be a big boy now,, but even then I still see you as my little baby." She teased to embarrass him because it was truth. It did not matter how old Gohan got because to her he'd always be an innocent child. He was her first born and for that he always had a special place in her heart. After she joked with him, she opened the door towards the cafeteria and led him inside where it was busy with cadets as well as staff workers. They gossiped about their day along with the food. Once she walked in, the cadets stopped eating and went silent.

It was so quiet that the sound of a pin drop could be heard if one were dropped in that instant. There were some cadets who hid their face by their trays of food to avoid eye contact.

It was awkward, but she was accustomed to it already. It was an order by the General himself. Her head shook at how strange it felt sometimes. Upon the silence, she walked towards the buffet line.

"Follow me." She instructed to Gohan.

Gohan's gaze flickered about curiously as the two of them made their way through the training camps, heading to wherever in order to get some food with his mother. It was awfully hard to ignore the screams that filled the air behind the two of them. The way the cadets cried out in pain and agony was certainly something to worry about, but this was not Gohan's place to act regardless of how much he may feel determined to intervene. These were Gatz' men and they signed up for this. At least that was what Gohan was trying to tell himself in attempt of easing his own mind. Yet despite how much he may try to convince himself, these men were being brutalized. It made Gohan begin to wonder just how many of the men actually made it to the war borders, more importantly how much actually make it out of the camp. It was something that lingered in Gohan's mind despite how much he might try to forget what he had just seen.

"You really think so? I didn't know whether or not grandpa might be too busy for me. But I do actually remember those books. He always did bring me a few at a time for me to study in addition to all the other books that you would give me. It's true that I would had liked to be training with dad or Mister Piccolo... But uh... They were still pretty nice gifts. I felt like you may have had a part in his choice of selection though." he said with a light grin as he moved his arm to gently nudge her side with his elbow in a teasing manner. "But I never knew Grandpa wanted me to be training. I figured that he didn't really worry about it at all. He seemed so nice when I was a kid, even for a man of quite large stature. Maybe I could give him a bit of a spar when we end up seeing each other again. I think I could probably get a few hits in on grandpa." he said with a nod of his head, imaging the whole ordeal in his head. He'd never actually seen Ox King fight though so it would be a mystery just what could really happen between the two, but Gohan was sure that it would be entertaining none the less.

"Mom." he whined lightly with a light blush on his face, having rather she not call him her little baby in front of everyone else in the room. It was more than just embarrassing. It undermined whatever strength he did have and he didn't want the people around here to start thinking he's some lucky mama's boy who didn't have to work for his strength or anything. Chi-Chi and Goku may have blessed him with an impressive amount of potential, but that didn't mean he would disregard training. He worked hard to get stronger and stronger in the future as time passed and he channeled his fury into determination for him to break every limit that was set up for him. Admittedly, he had lost to the androids but that wasn't to say he went down easy.

That's when something else had caught Gohan's attention. Looking around curiously, he noticed that a tension had built in the air as soon as they entered the cafeteria. What was previously full of people who had been enjoying themselves and talking to their friends was now a room full of silent glances and people trying to keep to themselves. Chi-Chi sure had a way of silencing the room, that much was sure to Gohan. Hearing her request, he awkwardly nodded before going to follow after her. "So uh... What's the deal with them? They can't relax if you're around?"

"Your grandpa and your father pleaded with me everyday to let you train. I was not having any of it. I specifically told your grandfather to get you books and books only. Eventually, the two gave up especially when I threatened that I would stop cooking for your father. He never asked again until that nasty brother of his came to Earth. Then I could no longer shield you from the world like I wanted to." She told Gohan straight forwardly. As a young mother and a girl who never knew her mother, she was inexperienced. She wanted the best for her child and at the time she did not consider a hard life in martial arts as the best. Unlike other mothers, she did know what it was like to be raised and trained in an art that she was against her son learning. It was a tough road and one endured suffering. She did not want the same for her child because it was natural for a parent to not want to see his or her child in pain.

After her initial response, she walked towards the buffet line where cadets could reach for what food they desired. She barely noticed that Gohan was embarrassed. A mother tended to not notice small details like that. She considered herself a cool, hip mom and for this reason her attention was on the food.

"Make sure you eat well Gohan." She instructed him with a motherly tone. There were cafeteria workers who were in charge of supplying the trays with food. She nodded at them once before she focused on Gohan's question.

"So uh... What's the deal with them? They can't relax if you're around?"

"They are afraid of the General." S he rolled her eyes because she recalled Gatz's order that involved neither looking at her nor talking to her. He was over protective. Not to mention, he did not want the cadets to be distracted. To ease Gohan, she turned to the cadets who were silent. She was not shy in the slightest. She let her irritation known.

"Oh come on. He isn't even here!" She said out loud to them so that the cadets would relax. Once she did, the cadets looked at one another and returned to their normal gossip. Then her focus went back on the trays. She grabbed one and stood behind a cadet who was younger than Gohan.

"Please, go on Fred." She told the boy in front of them who she recognized because she gave discipline classes to all the cadets on the base.

A cadet, who stood in front of Gohan, had a tray full of food. Fred heard the voice and panicked because he was afraid to talk back. His hands shook because of how close he was to the danger zone.

"I guess we both didn't exactly have things go the way we planned then. But it was definitely a good thing for a loving mother to do. Who knows. Maybe I would had gone and become a doctor after all." Gohan said in response to hearing how she seemed a bit disappointed over the fact that Gohan's destiny had been chosen for him before she could really shape a path for him to follow. While Gohan didn't really think he would want to be a doctor, at least not as he is now, he still did feel a bit of appreciation for his mother as she still had tried to help him out when he his only other option would have likely been being a fighter just like his father. Then again, if his mother wasn't there then Gohan might had turned out as clueless as Goku as well. That was something that Gohan would've very much like to avoid. He wasn't exactly the most intelligent but he still had a good deal of knowledge and he planned to take advantage of that. Goku on the other hand had a good heart, but was rather silly most of the time and got through battles by sheer strength. Maybe Gohan had taken a bit more from his father than he would like to admit, but most of his combat involved being strategic instead.

"Though I don't really like the idea of that now. Maybe I could try to be a teacher instead if I ever end up getting the chance." he said with a light grin at the thought. It was probably the best thing he could even do nowadays, though it wouldn't be the kind of teacher that his mother had now become to the people in the dojo. Instead, he would probably try teaching his students about more practical things. Things that they could actually use in their daily life and become successful where he had ended up being forced into a life of fighting and struggle instead. Though it's not like knowing how to fight wasn't useful, but most people didn't have the same capability for fighting that he or other warriors had. Instead, they made up for their lack of strength by forming community and coming together in order to support one another, something that Gohan could definitely admire. Maybe they weren't the best in most fights, but they had heart and that counted for quite a bit as well.

Then she decided to tell him to eat well, something that he never had really had to hear before. The last time he was told to "eat well" was when he was a little kid. But most of the time, he did that anyways as Chi-Chi had prepared a good deal of his meals when he was little. Even when she didn't, he stuck to eating only to survive and didn't really take in more calories than he really needed, which was still quite a bit but the concept remained steady. He didn't get a chance to really be picky with his food for a good while but when he returned home, he was delighted as Chi-Chi prepared quite a bit of his favorite meals for him as well as some healthy meals to keep his mind running strong while he would study. "I'll try to be smart with my choices." he answered with a nod. He already had an idea of what he would get, but he figured he might need to actually look at the options offered beforehand.

"Gatz? The guy's strong. That's for sure. But I don't really see the intimidation." he says as he looks to the cadets. They were certainly scared alright. It was a feeling that Gohan couldn't really bring himself to show towards androids. In it's place instead was an ever present anger that always nagged at Gohan's mind when he thought about the horrible things they had done to those poor undeserving people, but also to his close friends who had been slaughtered while trying to defend the earth from the menace. He knew that Gatz wasn't exactly the same as those androids, but his words were true. He didn't find androids scary and that included the supposed "Android Terror" who seemed to have placed fear into the minds of all these cadets.

That's when she managed to give him a bit of surprise as she called out to the cadets for them to relax. He felt a bit of relief at the command to be honest as it seemed that the air in he room was a bit too strict for a place that people should have been relaxing in. But it wasn't like he could do anything about it. This was her domain and she would run it however she wished, Gohan knew that all too well. Looking to the person who his mother called Fred, he gripped a tray and followed behind Chi-Chi quickly. The boy seemed pretty nervous although Gohan couldn't really figure out the reason why. Though there was something that the hybrid was trying to figure out. Would this tray be large enough to eat all the food he planned to consume or would he have to make several trips in order to sate his hunger.

It was a common anomaly at the base. The cadets feared Gatz. It had not shocked her that Gohan lacked fear of the General. She expected him not to be. As for the cadets, she understood their dread. Gatz was a hard individual to be around. She sensed her son's bravery. A calm smile spread on the raven hairrd beauty's face.

"You're fearless son. I believe you would make a wonderful teacher. I don't say this as often as I should. Im proud of you son." Her hand touched his shoulder and guided him along the buffet table. While she picked foods for herself, she instinctively placed portion sized scoops onto her sons tray. Before he could decline, she flashed him a genuine smile. His tray overflowed with food by the time they reached the end.

"My baby boy is a man now and a man needs to eat." As a mother, she enjoyed to see her son's tray full necause it meant he'd get the nutrition he required to be healthy and strong. His well being, as well as his siblings, was her top priority. Once she finished her serving sizes which were smaller in comparison, she nodded at Fred and proceeded to the lunch tables.

"Excuse me. May we sit here?" The table had room for both her son and her to eat. The second she asked the cadets scrambled to their feet and offered her a seat. She tried not to react to their strange behavior. Politely, she nodded and thanked them before she sat down. Her tray was placed on the table shortly after she sat down.

"Sit Gohan." She patted the seat next to her. In the meantime, the cadets remained on their feet and observed. There were a few who hadn't finished their meal. Those who didn't watched the son and mother hungrily.

"Ugh, you may all sit you know. We won't bite." She told the cadets who stood. They sat immediately after she commented too.
