"Fearless huh? Sometimes I'm not sure if it's that or me being stupid." Gohan said with a light laugh. Though hearing her say he'd be a great teacher wasn't exactly all that bad either for him to hear. Though he didn't exactly know any schools that would take him anyways since his reputation for the future leaves a bit to be desired in terms of the intelligence part. But hearing her encouragement was still nice for him. "Thank you, mom. I'm glad that I could make you proud." he said with a faint smile, unsure exactly why she felt so but he didn't mind the appreciation from his caregiver. "Mooooom." he said, actually groaning a bit now as he still wasn't appreciating her picking for him, even if it was all the things he was planning to eat anyways. It was one thing to be called a baby but now she actually seemed more intent on treating him like one. It was a bit embarrassing to have it been done in front of everyone else, a military no less. Although he tried his best not to make a fuss of it, a light blush still graced his face. Looking at her portions in comparison to his made him wonder if she was eating enough for herself, but he figured she knew her body better than he ever would anyways. Making his way for the table, he watched how his mother managed to strike such fierce fear into the other people. It certainly wasn't intentional, but the way they moved would make it seem like they'd seen her kill a man or something. Although he supposed it wouldn't completely be an impossible idea. He moved, going to take a seat beside her as he set his tray down, though the others didn't quite seem to get the idea as they stood their watching until his mother decided to finally take the few moments to address them and tell them they may sit as well. He looked down at his meal, figuring why not go ahead and just dig in now as he wasted no time, practically shoveling it down as he ate so fast, a wide grin on his face before each bite. This was definitely something he had ended up missing. WC - 381 TWC - 6,612 |

Courteously, she picked up the fork and knife. She held them properly. Then, with peculiar etiquette in a place where most did not use it, she ate her food. The teachings of her father stayed strong with her. As a princess, she was required to learn how to eat like one. This required excellent table manners. She cut small bites with her knife. With calmness, she ate the bite sized pieces. After a couple of bites, she wiped her lips and glanced at her son. She wanted to see how well his table manners were. His table manners were dreadful. Her wide eyed gazed narrowed after the initial shock of his lack of table etiquette subsided. She blamed the time he was from and not necessarily herself for lack parenting. "Gohan, slow down. I know I raised you better than that." She instructed her son who shoveled the food in his mouth and had not paused to take a breather. The other cadets were similar. They stuffed their faces with improper technique. It irritated the well disciplined mother who saw it as an insult if one did not know how to eat with class. A boy burped out loud and hadn't said excuse me. The action disgusted her. She stopped eating. Gently, she placed her fork and knife onto the table. "Excuse me." She told the boys a the table. The Cadets stopped. Their shoulders jolted of fright. They dropped their utensils in unison. The Ox Princess ignored their nerves. "You boys need to work on your manners. How will you find yourselves ladies if eat like pigs? It is filthy to burp at the table without saying excuse me. Your elbows should not be resting on the table. When you chew, it should be with your mouth closed. Do not talk with your mouth full. These are simple rules that are very important. You have time to eat. You should use it wisely. Do I make myself clear?" She watched as the cadets glanced at one another. They were confused due to how none of them understood what table manners were. "Yes Ma'am..." The cadets copied Chi-chi. There were a few of them that struggled with using utensils properly. They tried to do as she asked and resumed eating. She nodded at their agreement and turned to Gohan. She spoke out about what happened. "I know you don't think highly of this place, but I genuinely believe that we are doing something for the better here. These boys volunteered to come here. I've read some of their profiles. There are couple with tragic stories who wish to have a better life while others look for a family. The training they endure is horrible. I know this. I don't like it, but I do see why it is necessary. I have seen those Black Bow delinquents first hand. They're monsters. Gatz might be strong, but he enough to conquer those cruel troublemakers alone. With the proper training and discipline, these boys will have better futures. I truly believe it. It is why he built this military academy and why I support what he does. " She told Gohan truthfully. WC: 567 TWC: 6,391 Edited by Bel Zephyra, Apr 29 2015, 02:43 PM.

Gohan appeared to be completely oblivious of how rudely he was actually eating his meal, having watched his dad eat his food the same way when Gohan was a young boy and having just thought it was normal. It didn't help to enforce a sense of politeness in Gohan when he glanced up and the whole table shared in his rather quick way of devouring him food. Besides the fact it just tasted so good, Gohan's portions would have taken quite a while to eat otherwise since his mother had stacked them so high, much to his joy. But he could feel a pair of evil eyes on him as a shiver went down his spine, causing him to slowly turn to his mother in fear as a bit of noodles hung from his mouth, stuck in mid bite as he felt like he was in for a world of trouble. But instead, she simply told him to slow down. It was definitely better than ending up scolded in front of a bunch of cadets. "R-Right. Sorry..." He turned back, taking a gulp of nervousness as he decided to pace himself, his speed slowing considerably as he seemed to take his time with each movement of his fork since he didn't want to actually set off his mother's temper. It was then that one certain cadet decided to let out a loud burp. Ordinarily, Gohan wouldn't had really cared. However, his mother was present and that brought a whole new factor to the table. His fork hung in the air as his hand halted, staring in horror at the cadet as if he has ended up waking into a land mine. Along with the others, Gohan's fork dropped straight onto his tray as his face darkened, waiting for the anger to come out. The only words escaping his lips were "What have you done?" Even though he may not had been the primary target of his mother's words, Gohan still made sure to take note of each one. She was right that he didn't have to eat as fast as he did. But it was an impulse that was hard to fight off since it had become so natural to him over the years. It would be harder to try restraining himself rather than to eat even faster, but Gohan would have to do so for at least this time with his mother. "Yes ma'am." He said in unison with the others as he reached for his fork, slowly digging into his food yet again. It was a chore for him to try resisting his normal speed, but he seemed to get by far easier than the other cadets who didn't even really know the tools for proper dining. Then Chi decided to pour out the story about these kids and why she was in favor of all this. It seemed to make sense for the most part, but the lethality Gatz showed might prove too much for some of the kids. Placing his fork into his tray, Gohan turned his gaze to look into his mother's eyes. He was going to have to be very cautious of his words if he didn't want to come off as offensive. "The problem with the training is that it is set for a specific standard of person. But very rarely are two people exactly alike. Weight, body shape, age and background are very important for each person as training for one person may be helpful while it would only repress another from gaining strength. The only way to fix this would be by having each member or groups of them trained by one guy. But as far as I can tell, the number of trainees is pretty overwhelming as of now so I suppose that isn't possible. Though I have to wonder how many people have died in order to determine the standard." WC - 649 TWC - 7,261 |

Gohan had an interesting point of view in response to her support for what cadets underwent throughout their stay at Final Heaven. She saw it as a new beginning truly. He emphasized how fighters were different because of weight, size, and strength. In her past, she never thought that differences were important factors in training. As she recalled, Master Roshi trained all his pupils equally, and her father did the same to her. The training that her husband used on the cadets in truth was brutal. She was not blind how dangerous the General's training was. While she knew the camp itself was harsh, she imagined that it was a necessary procedure because the monstersthey were up against were unnaturally cruel In actuality, she had not seen everything firsthand. She heard the anguished yells and sometimes saw the severe injuries that others suffered. "You have a good head on your shoulders son. I do wish you get back to studying one day, but I see where your heart is. Have you considered taking students of your own? I remember that polite Trunks boy from the future who came here to save us from those nasty androids. I overheard him say how wonderful of a teacher you were to him. I am sure you could start a school of your own. " She placed her napkin on the table and decided to give her future son a direction he could head in. "I see that you're heart is not in this place. I don't blame you. You are your father's son after all. " She rested her hand on his shoulder and glanced at how the large portion size she left him was gone. It was definitely from his father's side of the family. "I know you've been in search for a new beginning. A better start. You know I'd give you anything in the world if I could son. You want to become someone. I might not be able to train you as hard as you'd like, but I do have news that I know might interest you. You're in luck. I heard a rumor that Master Roshi retired from teaching students. I know if you helped take over that you'd be able to make the world a better place. You wouldn't flirt with all those girls either." She commented with both slyness and irritation. WC: 449 TWC: 6,853 OOC: (Let me know when you want to end this. I can end it after your next post if you'd like. I enjoyed the topic. )

Gohan smiled a bit at the compliment he had received from his mother about his way of thinking. He had to think maybe he'd have to start studying eventually but for right now fighting would have to come first in his life it seemed. Hearing her mention Trunks, his timeline's Trunks, made Gohan a bit surprised as he didn't seem to have expected his mother to know about him. But his surprise was soon replaced by a bit of pride as he was happy to hear that Trunks had came to not only save the past from the android menace, but also he even said that Gohan had been a good teacher as well. It felt nice to hear those words as Gohan had mainly been beating himself up over how he thought he failed Trunks and unwillingly abandoned his student. But it seemed Trunks wasn't spiteful over this, much to Gohan's pleasure. Then he heard Chi say that Gohan should start his own school as well. It was a bit awkward for her to mention that, making Gohan move his hand to the back of his head as he started laughing nervously. But feeling her hand on his shoulder did seem to release the rather humorous tension Gohan had acquired. "I suppose I already kinda have one. Not an official one or anything, but I am watching over some boys to make sure they get stronger. They seem to have some potential, to say the least." Then she noticed what Gohan had tried his best to avoid saying the entire time. She had nailed her comment about how he didn't belong here and Gohan had to admit she was right. Even if his training was brutal as well, he had no intention of outright maiming his students to near death. "You're right. I am my father's son. But I'm also your son mother. I didn't want to say it, but you have certainly changed from what I was a kid. But in a world like this, I suppose that it is necessary." He said with a sigh, his tone having turned a bit discouraged before he gave her a smile and perked up a bit. "But you're still my mother after all and I do still love you. Even if we are probably both a bit different than we are used to." Hearing her speak about the new beginning sent a rather strange thought to Gohan's mind. Was that really the truth? Was he simply looking to replace the future that he had once had before? It wasn't exactly a thought that he was enjoying, but it was also very possible that he had unintentionally made this time a sort of home away from home for himself. Hearing her news was certainly interesting for him to think on though. "Thank you for this advice. Perhaps I will see about going to talk with Roshi. It could do some good to see some youth reach their full potential. As for the new beginning..." He said, silencing for a few moments before closing his eyes and shaking his head. "No. Even if this time is where I'd rather be, I have no real plans of making this my permanent residence. I will return to the future at some point. My duties to my time are still meant for me and I will not shirk them. But I will enjoy myself while I'm in this time. All work and no play makes Gohan a boring guy." He said with a bit of seriousness in his voice except for the last line, letting a grin shoe as soon as he started it while his tone picked up to reflect the joking nature of those ten words. The cadets' lunch break was over. There was a loud bell that sounded. In unison, the cadets tossed away their trays and headed out the exit. The humming from their voices dissipated soon after. She was alone with her son. Intently, her attention fell on him and what he had to say. First, he described how she changed since he was a child. As a child, she was strict on him because she refused to see him get hurt on the fighting grounds. Then, as time went along and monsters tried to conquer the planet, she realized that Gohan could not refuse who he was as she could not refuse who she was either. It was selfish to do it to him and a depravity to do it to herself. As a family of fighters and special lineages, she eventually gave into the notion that she could not change who he was or shelter him as much as possible. As for herself, she was told and firmly believed that she was better than what she had become. While she would not live her life any differently and the sacrifices she made for her family were because she wanted them to prosper , she had a destiny too. She wanted to be happy too. It took her a long time to discover and appreciate herself even after her ex husband, Gohan's father left her. In contrast to the Gohan in front of her, who lived through tragedy as explained by the Trunks of the future, her son was able to continue his studies because of their heroic efforts. If it were not for their bravery, the planet might have suffered the same fate. Her present son was both a scholar and a fighter. It was her son for the future that was responsible for it too. He responded to her when she mentioned that he was his father's son. He said that he was her son too. A genuine smile spread across her lips. It was a mother's dream to be admired and cherished by her children. Despite this Gohan's more rugged exterior, there was a kind, sweet boy inside who simply wanted the best for his timeline. "Aww, how adorable! I love you too son." She said warmly. "I understand that you will have to return to your time. I am sure your mother there misses you very much. I can imagine she is praying for your safe return." She nodded to reassure him that what she said was true. "In the meantime, I am sure she won't mind that I look after you. I will make sure you are eating enough, check if you are wearing clean clothes, clean underwear, and I don't think it would hurt if you studied from time to time." She slyly added the studying because even if he was a full time fighter, there was no reason he could not challenge his mind too like her son did. The last comment had narrow her eyes playfully at his response, but with a playful smile that revealed her humorous intentions. "You don't want to be boring Gohan. You will never find a sweet girl to settle down with if you are. After all, mothers do know best." She taunted in amusement and then winked at him to get him to laugh.
