After many days of travelling with Gohan, the young half-breed boy had gotten his wish, he was going to spend the day with him and even get some training in. Aside from Lagi, Gohan would be the first real formal martial arts master he would have, though he specialized in hand to hand where as the older Oshiro was more into swordplay. The two had made their way to Gohan's old residence, atop Mount Paozu, Gohan told Nexon to be careful wandering around in this area alone as there was all manner of monsters and creatures lurking about in the wilderness. Of course for this occasion however, Nexon would not wander too far away from Gohan, he was eager to start his training after all and because of that, he wanted to make sure the older male didn't run away. Before they had left to train, Nexon had dug through Gohan's closet and found a clean outfit he could sport, having been a kid he only packed three outfits for travelling and well, quite frankly, he stunk. He was allowed a bath to clean up and with a new pair of clothes on, he looked ready and raring to go for some training. "Sensei! What are we gonna start off with first?" Nexon smiled cheerfully as he dusted off the formal white gi he had found neatly hung up in Gohan's closet. It was one of the few outfits that Gohan still had around that could fit Nexon and thanks to his mother's hospitality, the rest of Nexon's outfits were currently being washed and folded. Nexon was peppy as usual, almost jumping around in place from how excited he was, Gohan was a really strong fighter, he even made Lagi, Nexon's older brother and a person the boy idolized, uneasy. He had to be incredibly tough to do that. The boy looked up to his Master and preformed a basic one, two combination, hitting nothing but the air but he was pumped. "Hehe! I'm ready!" WC: 333 |

Gohan had made a deal that he would train the two brothers and he had meant to keep it, though he was unsure of whether they would be able to endure the harsh first week of training he had planned out for them. The first step was to make sure the brothers had separate training for now. He knew Lagi would probably be quite a force to be reckoned with on his own, but how would Nexon fair? He was a small but he had quite a fair amount of enthusiasm. As well as that, he had a good amount of strength hidden within him, something that Gohan could see a little of himself in. He planned to use that strength, going to break down the young boy and build him up from what remained. It may have seemed cruel or harsh, but it showed results before and Gohan was determined to see results again. Gohan's gaze moved to Nexon now, noticing how well he wore the outfit that was meant for Gohan as a child. He didn't seem to mind the sight since the kid didn't seem to have many clothes of his own. Besides that, Gohan couldn't even fit those old things anyways, having grown far too large to wear them even if he wasn't so muscular. If the kid wanted to wear them, who was Gohan to stop him? Sure they may end up getting torn up during training but Gohan didn't care about that. He would travel to fire mountain and see his grandpa about getting new ones. That was the only downside to the rather good looking clothes. Not many stores carried the traditional look and the ones that did typically only sold lame knockoffs meant to just be attractive without functionality. "Well Nexon. I suppose we'll start by probably finding a good place to set up a camp. After that, we're going to be to be surviving on our own for the next week. That means any food, water, or anything else you may had brought can't be touched until then. If you want to eat, you either forage or hunt your food. If you want water, you gotta either purify it or hope you find a natural spring. You find a way to build a shelter at night and you can have a good sleep. I won't be helping you at all during this time." He said with a nod. He was set on making sure the kid understood exactly what situation he was going to be in. He would either learn to fend for himself or he would be pushed to the limit of his life. Either way, the kid would gain the ability to survive which would be necessary for the next part of their trials. Watching the kid swing at the air, Gohan smirked a bit as he could tell Nexon was pretty excited. "I'm sure you are ready. I wouldn't be taking you out here if you weren't. It's going to be hard and I look forward to see how you'll fare." WC - 511 TWC - 511 |

Nexon looked up to Gohan as the older Saiyan hybrid explained to him that the task for the week would basically be what Nexon pictured to be a camping trip. The boy tilted his head and to be honest, he didn't think it sounded that bad, he and Lagi had both been travelling on their own for quite some time, so going into the wild and living off the land seemed to be exactly what he had been doing for a while. However, Nexon had taken the fact that his older brother was with him and watching him the whole time for granted. Had Lagi not been with him, Nexon would probably have perished, still, the thought never crossed his mind, in fact he was quite happy to get back out in the wilderness. "Oh okay! You'll be coming with me Gohan sensei? Well, where should we go to find a good campsite?" Even though he was excited, he knew well enough to not run off out in the wilderness, out in the wild it was plenty dangerous, he could get lost. As far as he could see, there were forests, a desert with plenty of rock formations and nothing too dangerous looking, unless a stray bunny bit him or something. "Doesn't look like it'll be too hard! I'm gonna try to find some food!' Without another word, Nexon leaped forward, his arms sticking out of his side as he ran off as fast as he could. It looked as if he were propelled by a motor at the speed he ran off, he was excited to try and rustle up some dinner on his own. He had seen an apple tree near the Son residence so that was what he'd be aiming for at first, some fruit would be great to start off his journey. A shelter and fire, although probably much more important, were the last things to cross his mind as a necessity for survival. "Come on sensei! You're gonna fall behind!" Nexon laughed happily/ WC: 336 TWC: 669 |

Gohan was starting to think the child didn't quite understand what Gohan truly intended as he heard the child spoke. What Gohan had planned was much different than what Nexon might had been prepared for, though it was definitely for his own good. "Not quite Nexon. We'll be in the same area, but you and I are going to be camping in different areas. After all, this is going to see how well you would be doing without help. During the start of the day, you'll be training with me. For the later half of the day, you'll have to go get supplies for yourself." he said with a nod, going to stare closely at Nexon to make sure that he understood just how serious this was. He wouldn't have anyone to help him and he would be beaten harshly each day as the two sparred. Gohan wasn't going to go too easy on the child since he wanted the kid to see improvement even if it meant he was going to be injured quite a bit. That was just the way the training was going to go. Though then Nexon went and ran off to go get himself some food. Gohan shrugged his shoulders, having already eaten before the two came out here. That was the perk of being the master here. He could do things that would be unfair and it wouldn't have any costs. Nexon on the other hand wouldn't get the same luxury. Gohan would see to it that. He wondered how the youngling would do when it came time to prove his worth. Would he wuss out and run to his brother crying or would he be able to adapt, learn, and thrive in the wilderness. But Gohan had yet to tell Nexon about the real threats that would show up while they were here. In addition to the biting night cold, the harsh terrain, and the fact that there were monsters out in the wild, there were one other thing they all would have to be cautious of. That would be the fearsome dinosaurs living on Mount Paozu, ready to bite at anyone who would dare to trespass onto their land. Gohan didn't typically hope for much, but a part of him was really hoping that Nexon had packed a change of pants. He didn't want to hear the kid whining when he'd piss himself over the huge reptile creatures coming out of nowhere and trying to rip him apart. WC - 415 TWC - 926 |

Nexon stopped but only for a brief moment as Gohan went to re-explain what he meant by the two of them going out on what sounded like a camping expedition. Gohan explained that they'd be camping in the same areas, however, they would not be working together, it sounded like a competition of who could be better off while on their own. The crimson haired boy nodded and this time understood better, it wasn't supposed to be a fun time little expedition, this was going to be a survival test and Nexon wanted to do his best. "Okay! First food though, cause I'm kind of hungry!" Nexon continued off on his own and made a wide angle left turn straight into the thick treeline of the nearby forest. He was going to look for some wild edibles which he did have a fair knowledge about having lived on the fringe of civilization his entire life, yet it was nothing even remotely close to what Gohan had been through. As he ran through the thick brush of the Paozu forest, Nexon came upon a tree that was bearing fruit, apples to be exact. His eyes widened and he drooled a little at the sight of the many perfect, swollen, red delectable fruits hanging just a few feet above his own head. Nexon looked around for a rock and came back with an arm full. chucking said rocks at the trees to try and knock some of them down. "Come on....I just want one little apple..." Failed attempt after failed attempt, Nexon kept missing but only barely and he was becoming visibly frustrated as his last hit just tipped the side of an apple yet it managed to remain in place. Nexon's look shifted to a serious one and he suddenly took a step back. The boy started to rotate his arm in a circular motion, winding it up like a baseball pitcher would as he continued to build up more and more momentum. His arm was moving so fast that it was practically a blur and at the peak of his momentum, the boy let the rock loose, a high speed fragment of stone travelling at what seemed to be blinding speed towards a great oak. A massive crashing sound was heard and the grand oak came toppling over, Nexon smiled happily but then a second large crashing noise was heard in response. Behind the fallen Oak tree stood a massive creature, it's back turned to the crimson haired warrior. It stood on two feet, dozens of spines sticking out along it's back and down to it's massive tail. It was then Nexon could see the rock he had thrown had chipped one of the spines and gotten stuck in the dinosaur's lower back. Now, to most kids they would have probably just frozen, Nexon was still concerned about his apples so he trotted over to the fallen tree and began picking them off, stuffing a few into the formal gi he had "borrowed" from Gohan. He hummed to himself slightly, making sure to keep an eye on the massive dinosaur as it took it's time to turn around slowly. WC: 527 TWC: 1196 |

Gohan watched the boy run off, shrugging his shoulders. This was where training was going to begin anyways as he made his way into the woods away from the other's direction. It wouldn't do much good for the two to be clinging together for the whole trip and Gohan knew that. That's why he had to cut the two apart from each other before the kid might try to start relying on Gohan. Letting out a light yawn, he hovered a bit off the ground as he made his way past the trees, trying his best to avoid leaving tracks for either a predator or or the kid to follow. As well as that, Gohan didn't want to let himself end up worrying about the kid either during the trip. Out of sight, out of mind. Since Nexon had started to hunt for something to eat, Gohan decided to go ahead and start setting up a camp. Making sure not to disturb more of the environment than he had to, he quickly scooped up a few large leaves into his arm and began looking for a place to set up camp. Moving over near a pile of fallen trees, he picked up a stick and dug it deeply into the ground before going to repeat the action a few more times at different angles, making sure that it was nice and secure before going to take the leaves and use them to connect the ends of the sticks. From there he could make a sort of makeshift tent, large leaves covering the sides as he tried his best to anchor the tent down. It took a few tries to get the leaves tied right, having to awkwardly maneuver his fingers to get it to set as he only had one hand to work with, but with enough practice he could finally get the tent to stand up right. He was proud of his work and he gave himself a nod as he already knew the area pretty well. If he needed to go get water, he could just head north to a spring. If he needed food, he could either forage for fruit nearby or hunt the local creatures. Speaking of which... It was then Gohan heard the toppling of some tree. It seemed that the apprentice was already managing to get into some trouble after only being here for about five minutes. Taking in a deep breath, Gohan tried not to worry about it despite the fact that he was messing with the precious balance of nature near their his home. If Nexon wasn't careful, the creatures might end up trying to trample him or worse. Though that wouldn't be Gohan's problem yet. If it was absolutely necessary, then Gohan would step in to intervene. But for now, he was focusing on himself and his own camp to try getting things up and running. He trusted in the kid's abilities and hoped he would be able to show some promise. As Nexon was casually picking the spoils of his scavenging, he heard thunderous footsteps close in before everything else fell silent. Even then, he was still busy shoving handful after handful of fruits into his outfit, making sure they weren't able to fall out while he was off walking for something else to pick for breakfast. Just at that moment, a gust of warm air blew the boys hair back and he lifted his head up to see a massive snout before him. Nexon was in awe, he had never seen anything quite that big before and yet, he didn't make a sound, he just took the moment in, as if he could scarcely believe it was happening. The massive tyrannosaur let a low growl out as it looked to Nexon, he wasn't a threat, he was so small yet, something or someone must have hit it with the sharp edged stone. It stood up, as if presenting it's entirety to Nexon before letting out an ear bursting roar, the sound of which caused the tops of the many trees to sway violently as did Nexon's loose clothing and locks of hair. He placed his hands over his ears and in the moment of fear, he ran away, jumping through some bushes that surrounded the tree line and running down the plains of grass. "Wahhhhh!" Nexon yelled wildly as he could feel the massive stomps of the tyrannosaurus chasing after him, Nexon was running unbelievably fast and what's more was that it looked as if he was actually getting faster as he did so, picking up more speed. Nexon was successfully outrunning a fully grown tyrannosaurus somehow, whatever the reason was, he didn't stop to think about it, in fact he was glad he was gaining the sudden boost in speed. It was then that seemingly out of nowhere, the boy could not feel the Earth underneath his feet, in fact, when he looked down, he took notice that he was no longer on the ground, somehow, his body was levitating while propelling himself forward at the same time. "S-sensei! I'm...I'm...!" Was ll Nexon could yell out from disbelief at what he was doing, he was indeed flying and well, he didn't know how to stop it either. The fear in the moment had made him wish he could just fly away, he didn't think that wishing would actually make his request come true. "Look! Look at me!" Nexon cried out happily as he rose up and began performing a variety of barrel rolls crying out happily. The Tyrannosaurus had long since stopped in it's tracks, the massive predator was worn out from trying to keep up with the over active 8 year old boy. "How do I stop!" Nexon laughed softly, unable to direct himself back down to the ground. WC: 470 TWC: 1666 |

Gohan let out a light yawn as he looked at his camp, going to sit down with his legs crossed and begin relaxing. Assuming the kid would survive the first day, they would be able to start training and he would show Nexon how to really fight. He had a bit of spirit and an obviously above normal strength, but that wasn't enough to last on your own in combat. Maybe that would work for bands of weak thugs who never ran into a skilled warrior, but Gohan wouldn't be training the kid if that was the case anyways. As far as he could tell, the kid was good and that was something that Gohan was definitely going to make sure that was kept how it should be. It was then that a rather curious roar was hear not too far off from his location. Gohan couldn't help but to let his gaze wander through the tree line towards the direction where the roar had came from, wondering just what kind of dinosaur it must had been. Either way though, it didn't really matter to Gohan all that much. The kid finally would understand the little surprise that Gohan had prepared for their training and just why exactly this wasn't going to be easy for him. Hopefully he wouldn't get eaten, but that's not to say it wasn't exactly an impossible outcome. He didn't exactly want to lose a student so easily and so early, but the kid should have known what he had joined up for when he decided he really wanted Gohan for his tutor. He was going to have to deal with the struggles and challenges that would come with it unfortunately. Pain was progress and Gohan was set on making sure that Nexon would be receiving a lot of progress. It was then and only then when he'd heard someone calling out for him. Of course, it had to be his pupil since there was nobody else nearby here, but it was still rather strange how the kid had managed to already find his camp. Looking around curiously for the source of the noise, he wondered just where the kid could possibly be hiding. That was until he actually glanced up and noticed him hovering in the air. He gave his neck a good cracking before going to stand up and begin levitating towards him. His eyes were a bit narrowed as he didn't seem very pleased by what he was seeing before him, despite how much of an achievement it actually was to see his pupil advancing so fast already. Whether or not this was entirely a result of the pressure from the training or just random coincidence didn't seem to matter all too much to him. It wasn't until the two were only around a foot apart from each other that Gohan began to speak, his tone sounding a bit harsh. "If I remember right, the task was to survive down there for a week. I never said you could leave the forest." he said before reaching forward to grip Nexon's collar before going to try tossing him down into the ground to make sure that he understood just how exactly this was going to work for him. If he tried to leave the woods or cheat the rules, Gohan would make sure that he was punished for it. WC - 563 TWC - 1,989 |

Nexon smiled happily as he floated around and then suddenly he paused, looking to Gohan whom also seemed to levitate in the air just like he did. As far as he knew, people did not have the ability to fly but now Gohan was in the air with him and at the same time, he made it look easy, Nexon was just trying to get the hang of it. Gohan looked less then pleased as he gripped the boy by the collar of his shirt and then flung him to the ground, Nexon flailed his arms slightly as he landed on the ground with a thud. He let out a soft whimper, looking almost like a hurt puppy that ahd just been scolded, his eyes seemed to grow a bit as he frowned. "Sorry..." Nexon pouted as he dusted his gi off, he wanted to keep the gift he had gotten from his Sensei cleaned and right now he wanted to avoid getting him angrier. Nexon got to his feet and walked back to the tree line, a couple apples falling out of the back of his gi without him noticing, leaving a trail of fruit behind him as he did this. So for now, it seemed flying was a bad idea, it just served to make Gohan angry and that bit of scolding had got him into a serious mind-set now, he remembered he was here to learn how to survive, not play around. At the same time, he was kind of afraid of Gohan now, he had actually never been scolded before, in fact he was used to being babied while in his household so this was all new to him. He pushed branches away and tucked his pants into his socks, not wanting to get dirt or little scratches on his shins while traversing through the forest, he already knew there were tons of things to be afraid of now. As he made his way through the thick forested region, Nexon could hear all manner of animal calls and the sound of bushes rustling all around him, wherever he moved, it was like he was surrounded regardless. "Getting kind of hungry...I think I should have a snack." Nexon paused as he looked around and leaned up against the trunk of one of the massive trees, he reached into his gi and pulled out a beautifully scarlet colored apple. He practically drooled at the sight of it as he shined one of the sides on his gi. He hovered the apple close to his mouth and as he closed his eyes, he chomped, biting into nothing but air. Nexon opened his eyes and noticed that the apple was no longer in his possession, he looked down and around, seeing if he had accidentally dropped it onto the floor but there was no sign of the delicious red. He heard the sound of chittering and looked up, in the branches above was a family of 3 monkeys, each one of them surrounding and biting into the apple they had procured from the boy. "Hey! That's mine!" Nexon pouted as he jumped up to try and grab his apple, the monkeys simply looked down at him and even taunted him, placing it just beyond reach. WC: 545 TWC: 2211 |

Gohan let out a light growl, watching the kid plummet to the ground as he had intended. While he was a bit annoyed that the kid had left the forest, he was also a bit impressed. Typically flying wasn't something that people just picked up by accident like how he did. It required a bit of concentration and the knowledge of controlling your ki. Sure he couldn't exactly control himself while in the air, but the fact that Nexon had even managed to take off so well was pretty amazing in itself. Still, Gohan couldn't allow the child to just make what was supposed to be a difficult survival training into a task that could easily be overcame by just taking to the skies. Whether he was being a bit too rough with the kid or not was not his main priority right now. Instead, his objective was to shatter the kid's expectations so he could get a realistic idea of how this training was going to go. Lifting his hand up, he quickly positioned it against his lips to whistle loudly throughout the forest. It didn't take long for a rather aggressive roar to come back in response, echoing throughout the woods in response before Gohan gave a light smile. At least there was someone nearby that he could rely on to make this trip interesting for the young child. He turned to look to his own camp before going to descend slowly onto the ground, letting out a sigh as soon as the bottom of his boots met the dirt below. At any rate, if Gohan didn't see as much improvement out of the training as he had hoped for then he would change back to training the same way he did with Trunks. While he wasn't exactly a pushover during that either, Gohan was definitely far more lenient than he was being right now. But in the end, Gohan wasn't able to unlock Trunks' hidden potential on his own, something that he couldn't help but to regret unfortunately. Making his way back to his tent, he laid back a bit against the ground and stared up, thinking about his home. Things were so different here than his home, yet there were so many things that seemed to have remained the same. Despite the fact that this world wasn't completely in ruins yet, that didn't exactly mean that it wouldn't be if there wasn't some kind of intervention done. Gatz was training an army to fight against the rising threat of these Black Bow bastards, but could they be sure that it would be enough? Simply put, there wasn't much way of telling for sure. So if Gohan could help out in any way, it would have to be by recruiting a new team of warriors who share in his strength and wish to fight against the android menace. Nexon was quite young, that much was true, but he still had quite a bit of potential. If Gohan could take the potential of warriors just like him, it would mean that maybe there would be a new force much like the z-fighters of his time that could stand against any threats that may try to overtake the earth.
