The Iron Fan Princess walked on the busied sidewalk of Gatz's Haven towards her favorite music shop. She wore a red, quipao that had a black dragon design along her chest. Her long hair remained untied as it normally did. As she weaved through the crowd, her bearded body guard trailed behind her with an ice cream come in hand. He accompanied her everywhere to protect her from the Black Bow Army who were determined to attack her. Ever since the first day, being reborn into the world by a wish her family made with the Namek dragonballs, she had been targeted by them because her incredible power and for her kai blood. For this reason, when her husband could not be alongside her, he ordered a body guard to keep close. The main difference between most body guards and her own was that they were family. He did not guard her because of his job. He protected her because he saw her as his sister, and she considered him a brother. They were family.

"I never thought I would see a grown man enjoy ice cream as much as you do Paul." she amused when he walked alongside her. She eyed the music shop a block down from where they were. Despite its close distance, the traffic of Gatz's Haven and it being mid afternoon caused their walk to it to be longer than expected.

Paul Phoenix licked his ice cream and grinned at Bel when she commented about his joy for ice cream. "Aw Bel, it's juss this brings me back to when I was a kid y'know? Didn't have a lot, but dis gave me an escape. Good times." He stayed alongside the shorter Bel and bumped people out of the way of the boss lady. The boss man had strict rules about people getting too close to her and the Toughest in the Universe abide by them. He didn't like the boss man getting mad. It had nothing to do with the judo biker being scared because the Toughest had gone knuckle to knuckle with the boss, but more so to do with how the boss man took out his anger. The boss took it out on people, killing when mad. Though the boss cared about Bel more than she knew, he had no restraints when it came to her safety. He'd kill any and all who got in his way. Bel did not like people being murdered and for that reason Paul did his damnest to avoid situations that showed Gatz's worst sides.

"Hope that music shop got what I want." he said. "Didn't like da last one." he reminded Bel.

Turles' feet clapped against the sidewalk of the vast city, Gatz's Haven. The city was rather busy today, the hustle and bustle of everyday life, made the Saiyan walk slowly. Somehow he found himself becoming a little more accustomed to human ways. In his older attitude, Turles would have shoved everyone out of the way, and went where he pleased at his own pace. This new outlook, as well as the desire to roam, rather than having a specific destination, saw a patient Saiyan warrior. He eyed the large skyscrapers, and variety of people that lurked throughout the huge location.

Wow. I see why this city is ruled by that Gatz guy. He's no joke. I know that from personal experience. Good lord, one kid transformed, and I got launched and after that, everything is a blur....Meh who knows what happened.

Turles continued down the street, and his ears caught the chatter of daily life in the city. The conversations were so friendly, and casual, which made Turles think about the lack of friends he has. He trained at Eddy Spade's school, but outside of training, there weren't many people he talked to. The exceptions were strangers he would challenge to a duel, but would rarely see their faces again after the fact.

AGH! Look at these human qualities rubbing off on me! I'm supposed to be cold-blooded, and cold-hearted. How can I sit here and act like I want a friend of some sort? Well do I?

Both sets of teeth clamped his bottom lip in thought. His finger tapped a place on his chin, very near to his lip, and he had made his mind up.

Not all Saiyans have to be monsters. You know what? I can fight, and be friendly. Except for when it comes to fighting. Then maybe people will like me. But why do I care if people like me?! GAH! Oh well let's just see how this works out.

Turles approached a random stranger in the crowd, and tapped them on the shoulder. The person was a male, and was very much shorter than the larger framed Turles. The man looked up to the Saiyan warrior, and was almost in fear. His body trembled, as Turles gave a grin.

"Greetings Earthling," Turles began, "I am a Saiyan, and I have come from the Planet Vegeta to here. It seems like some of the best fighters are coming from here, but you know forget all of that. I would like to know if you would be my friend."

The Saiyan extended a hand for the Human to shake. This was a rather strange gesture because of the difference in body language. If one wants to be successful in approaching others, they must match their body language in their approach. Turles tried to come on very strong, to a shy person. Not only that, but he was dressed in a gi, and had the Doom Katana strapped to his back; not the most friendly appearance ever. Even his eyes pierced through one's soul. The human bolted from his spot, and made random noises rather than words.

"What the Hell! All I did was offer the man a handshake! Is it really that hard to make friends?"

The people in his vicinity turned back towards him, and ignored his complaints. Turles sighed, and began muttering to himself.

"Other than fighting, the only good thing about this place is the music. I know in this big city, there has to be a shop around here somewhere."

Turles had picked up a love for rap music, rhythm and blues, and the now popular trap music. The trap was a simple concept, but frowned upon due to the illegal concepts that were included in the genre's lyrics. For some reason, the drums, the bass, and the hard-hitting instrumentals appealed to Turles' wild nature. Gatz's Haven, however, seemed to have a spirit of traditional music, or one could assume that from the city's features. Turles had his doubts, but maybe he could find some music that fit his taste in the shop.

The Saiyan increased his stride, and headed towards the music shop, with high hopes of what the store had to offer. Hopefully, this store wouldn't just offer music, but it would also offer a friend that the Saiyan so longed for.

"Are you sure that is music Paul?" she questioned with a scrunched expression because the supposed music sounded more like noise to her. She stuffed a pointer finger in her ear to avoid harming her ears further. "It more like noise to me because it hurts my ears." she commented truthfully. Her body guard bobbed his head to the beat. As he danced and seemed to shrug of her opinions, she observed the other customers in the music shop. It's large selection of music attracted those from around the globe. Gatz's Haven, unlike other cities, had a variety of selections. Her husband, who owned the city, had an intelligence about him when it came to business and commerce. His brilliance and ability to adapt to modern times created a safe haven where anyone could be welcomed.

The Toughest in the Universe noticed Bel's finger in her ear and overheard her opinion about the music he sampled. "Bel dis ain't noise. It's a damn classic." he reassured her. "I know ya've been around only a week, but I'mma show you da best stuff around." he grinned and went back to his rock music.

Hearing Paul Phoenix defend his music, she nodded her head and gave into his word. She did want to argue about music because taste truly came down to the individual. She had her different tastes that both her husband and her body guard were against. While Paul returned to his noise he called a melody, she scanned the room. Her stomach fluttered when she sensed a high life force inside of the room. Her onyx eyes scanned every individual in the room until she spotted the one man who caused the sudden change in her stomach. He entered into the music store and apparently foreign by the looks of his armor. The man's unruly hair stuck out like a sore thumb. He was not human by a long shot. Without regard for her safety or her body guard's job, she maneuvered towards the man with the intention to question why he was in Gatz's Haven. If he brought danger, she needed to nip it in the bud before anyone in the store got hurt.

"Excuse me." she voiced politely and waited for him to acknowledge her presence.

Turles stepped foot into the extravagant store, and was immediately filled with awestruck wonder. The musical selection inside of the store was so broad, that his mind was blown. The Saiyan accidentally found himself grinning; a thing that Saiyans don't do unless pleasured through battle. He shook his head, and began to wander through the vastness of the store. In his amazement, Turles found himself in somewhat of a trance. It was almost like he had found a second love to fighting. In this trance, he didn't take notice of the other people in the store, that is until he heard a female voice approach him.

Quote:

"Excuse me."

The voice was polite, and tender to the ear. The Saiyan found himself in somewhat of a shock. Not only did someone acknowledge him, but when they did, it was such a mannerly acknowledgement. Usually the words: "Freak", "Chump", "Idiot", and "Monster", were associated with his presence. Turles snapped his head in the direction of the voice. There was no way he could be hostile to such politeness, even in his unruly nature. His eyes soon fixated upon a beauty who was unnoticed to him before. Long hair, a red quipao, and piercing eyes, dressed the lady who had approached him. The Saiyan couldn't find it in him to respond for a matter of five seconds. Not only was the woman beautiful, but she had something else different about her. In these five seconds, Turles fell into his subconscious, and began to speak to himself in his mind.

I know my senses are working! I can sense every power level in here except for her, and that other man over there. There's got to be some sort of connection between the two. Is she really that powerful to where I can't even sense her! Wait, what am I doing? This is why I don't have friends in the first place! Maybe I need to approach this correctly for once! Oh well here it goes!

"Hi," Turles choked, "how may I help you?"

Turles held his breath after his final word, hoping that he had said all of the right things. It wasn't that he was interested in the female more as, he was hoping he came off a friendly for once.

Who knows maybe this could be that friend I was looking for. ACK! I'm going to puke. Let's settle for "ally" instead. Alright let's see how this goes!

Bel waited for the armored dress man to reply. Her onyx eyes shifted down to his waist and noticed the tail wrapped around it. She glanced at his waist in a subtle fashion so that he did not pick up on her curiosity. When she spotted the furry tail, she realized instantly that he belonged to the saiyan race. It explained why his life force felt more vibrant than the others in the music store. The wild haired saiyan did not respond to her at first when she politely greeted him with an excuse me, but instead gawked at her. After a few seconds of awkwardness, he replied with a simple hello and how may I help you. She opened her mouth, preparing to express what she wanted, but a thunderous voice silenced her. She blushed in embarrassment at the abrupt intrusion.

"Yo! Bel da hell do ya think yer doin gurl? I bend down to tie my shoes for one sec, look up, BAM, and yer gone! Can't be doin' that damn thing Bel. Ya know how boss man gets." Paul interrupted. "Who da hell is this chump? He givin ya problems? Better not be. I'll break um." he threatened and then stepped his bulky frame in front of Bel protectively.

Her rosy, shaded cheeks returned to their normal color when she overheard Paul's remark. Since her husband hired him as a body guard, he had the right to be annoyed. She wanted no problems especially when it was her who approached the man within the music ship. For this reason, she stepped to her body guard's side, gazed up at him, and rested her hand on his flexed bicep. "I am sorry Paul. I tend to let my curiosity get the best of me." she apologized and admitted truthfully. "I approached this man because I noticed he likes the same music as you." she lied. The reason she wanted to talk to the man had more to do with the armor he wore because two days ago a group of troublemakers, who attacked her in West City, had similar outfits, but this truth had to remain hidden from both her body guard and her husband.

Paul relaxed and took her word for it. "Ight, juss dun go runnin off Bel. Crazy freaks around here." he instructed her. "So Bel says ya like music? What kind?" he asked the man.

Turles felt as if his gestures were a success, and a reassuring smile crawled across the female's lips. A feeling of relief came over him, especially as she began to reply. That is until, a booming voice started reprimanding her over her actions. The Saiyan wasn't afraid of conflict, more as he was of ruining something that he didn't even have to start with. The lady told the large man that Turles had the same interests in music as him. When asked what kind of music he liked, his lips curved upwards, and he began listing the various genres.

"I'm into Rap, Rhythm and Blues, a little bit of heavier rock, and even some pop. What about you big guy?"

The words, "big guy" came to his head, as a friendly mannerism, more than an insult. His true nature was beginning to get the best of him however. Turles had not forgotten about being called a "chump", but somehow put that behind him. It seemed that his pride could be tamed outside of battle. The Saiyan looked at the man, who wore a weird hairstyle of some sort. He was used to weird hairstyles every time he saw his reflection, so there was no use in criticism. Turles began to recount the first few moments of his conversation, and realized that the word, "curiosity", and the female’s change in attitude stuck out. The Saiyan only did what was right in his eyes, and tried to break the ice.

“Here,” Turles began, “Let’s be honest with one another. My name is Turles, and as you can tell, I am not human. I am a Saiyan, a warrior race, who seem to be more and more prominent these days. So you’re Bel, and you’re Paul huh? Very nice to meet you today. How about we chat with a little less awkwardness?”

Turles, for once, drew a friendly smile towards the two, but on the inside, his heart raced, and his nerves were on edge. He kept his hands unclenched, as that would be a sign of anger, or contempt towards the two, and he also kept his jaw relatively loose. He stood still, and awaited the reply.

"Rock is where it's at. I like me some rock and roll man." the Toughest in the Universe replied with hardened enthusiasm. "Ya wanna check some stuff out?" he asked. Bel had a talent for finding cool dudes. He grinned at his smaller, female companion and rested a hand on her shoulder. The dude mentioned his name and what he was. When he did, the bearded biker's grin disappeared and not because he didn't trust the dude. Unlike Bel, his memories remained intact about the saiyans before Anju and Gatz wished her soul to be reborn. She had no idea what run ins she had in the past with saiyans. He didn't know what they were one hundred percent, but he recognized that most of them were punks.

"Bel leave through the front door, call Gatz, and tell him where yer at. Shit might hit the fan here." he ordered.

The long haired kai ran a finger through her strands while the two men talked about music. She had other thoughts through her mind. They were more important than music. Paul's enthusiasm darkened when he discovered Turles belonged to an alien race called saiyans. Did he know what they were? She made the assumption that Paul did not. While he did brag about his run ins with aliens in the past, she assumed it did not mean saiyans. Her tender eyes gazed up at her bulky body guard. He shifted his stance about the wild haired man the second he stated what he was. Instantly, she butted in before the situation got ugly within the music store. She stepped in between the two men, rested her hand inches away from Paul's chest, and peered up at him with softness in her feminine eyes.

"Paul, Turles has done nothing wrong." she spoke softly. "We cannot involve Gatz in this especially not now after what I need to say. There is a reason I approached this man." she half turned to Turles. Her intense, yet gentle gazed up at him. She forced herself to admit the truth behind her intentions. "The truth is..." she hesitated at first because the rouse her story would cause. "I was attacked by your people in West City Turles. There were four of them, and they were quite powerful, more-so than the saiyans I have met on this Earth. I don't know if they attacked me randomly, but what I do know is that more humans, saiyans, and others will be attacked. They did not hesitate to attack your Prince either." she informed Turles.

The Toughest in the Universe rest his hand on his face because he remembered the argument that occurred several days ago when Gatz found scratches on her arms. She lied about it too. "Bel the hell did ya lie to boss man for the other day when he found scratches on ya? Ya said it was from training." he questioned angrily.

She recalled the argument well and while it angered Gatz, she had to lie for him. "I don't take pleasure in lying to him, but you know why I needed too Paul. If I did not lie to him, he put the blame on all of them. He'd group the blame on both the innocent and the guilty. Then he'd hunt them down like animals. He is unreasonable and does not distinguish between the two. He would go after all of them Paul when only four attacked me. It is not what I want. I do not want a war or innocents to die. There needs to be a better solution to this and until we find one I trust that you will keep this a secret too." she reminded Paul that her husband did not have restraint or reason when it came to matters that concerned her safety.

Paul groaned at Bel. "Ya want me to lie to boss man? Man, Bel I know ya got a good heart and all, but those damn punks need to pay for that shit." With frustration, his fist slammed into a bunch of CDs causing them to crash to the ground because he understood Bel's reasoning, but he didn't like lying.

Turles felt the tension escalate in the room. The big guy didn't appreciate the fact that he was a Saiyan, and he was now on high alert. He felt that a fight was going to break out at some point. Turles, however, felt it a solemn goal to make sure that did not happen. He made sure that with every fiber in his being, he did not say the wrong thing. The tension was so thick in the room, that it could be cut with a knife. Turles put his head down, and took a deep breath to calm himself. He then heard a name that was very familiar.

Gatz. Yup. That's the guy! Crap these two have ties to him! I definitely can't start a fight now! I'm not ready for the Other World just yet. Whatever you do, do not show signs of your tenseness.

Turles was relieved when Bel stepped in front of Paul. She always seemed to be the calm, and more reasonable of the two. His eyes widened when she began to recount a tale, of when she was attacked by four Saiyans. She also mentioned that the Saiyans had attacked Prince Vegeta too. Turles bit his lip, and tapped his foot. He didn't say a word, as he was listening to Paul and Bel exchange words.

Wow. If this lady is tied to Gatz then who is dumb enough to attack her? Good lord just looking at that guy is enough to kill you!

Turles stood still, and took a deep breath. It had appeared that the two had a break in conversation, and he felt it time to speak.

"Alright," Turles began, "I understand everything now. I understand why Paul is on high alert it seems, and why there was a shift in the atmosphere in the room. I'd like to clear one thing up however. I am a Saiyan; yes, however I am not affiliated with anyone, any longer. I'm sorry those four attacked you. However, I have nothing to do with them. May I ask what their names were? Ah it's kind of pointless. I've been out of the whole Space Pirate loop for some time now. All I do is fight these days."

Turles looked towards the two, and hoped for a sort of approval. He would hate to be out casted for something that he had no control over.

"Paul!" she exclaimed when he punched a shelf of CDs. "I want you to wait outside." she asked him politely at first, but then she saw his relunctant rage. A simple request would not be suffice to get him to leave. Reluctantly, she went to more extreme measures. "I order you to." she demanded strongly.

The Toughest in the Universe fumed at what he heard. His sister had been attacked and nobody knew about it. Anju and Gatz were left in the dark, and he had been the first to discover where she got her bruises from. When she ordered him to leave, he crushed the CD cases with his foot and stuck a ong finger in her face. He didn't like being mean with her, but after watching the boss man for so long, he realized why it had to be done. Her stubbornness ignored common sense. "You better be outside in five minutes Bel. I ain't playin' around. If ya don't, I will tell boss man what you told me. He deserves to damn know what happened so those punks can get their asses trashed." he growled. "I dun give a damn if he locks ya up in a room either after that shit. For yer own damn good! As for you punk, hands off or I'll death fist ya to hell." The normally goofy body guard got angry and protective when it came to his family. He shoved a teenager out of his way, sending him flying over the shelves, and exited the building as demanded to.

Posted Image

The reborn kai cringed when Paul crushed the CD cases and then exit with his fists clenched. His had the right to be mad at her. She sighed because of the trouble she caused and at the mistake she made. "He is right. I should have told my husband the truth. When he asked me why I had injuries a week ago, I could not bring myself to tell him. How could I? Paul does not understand this. I wanted my husband's focus to be on other, more domestic problems. Most importantly, I did not want him to worry about me further or lock me in a room because he would definitely do that if he found out about this. I could not even think of telling my daughter either. She already has enough on her plate." she said softly. She noticed the owner and raised her hand up to him to reassure him that she would pay for the damages. Once she dealt with her body guard, she turned to Turles. He told her he knew nothing about the attacks. She sensed his honesty and nodded to him. "I did not get their names unfortunately. When I was attacked, I only thought of surviving. I had no time for anything else. I was thankful that your prince was in the city. He helped me fight them off." she expressed to him. "Perhaps you should reconnect with your saiyan heritage. I am not one to pry, but I do feel that you should feel something for your people. I have a feeling a war has already happened and any saiyan, like yourself, will be involved both directly and indirectly." she advised.

Turles sneakily laughed at the situation. Paul seemed like a brute, or maybe he was just very protective of Bel. Turles could hold his laughter no longer when Paul threw a teenager out of the way, on his way out. The Saiyan tried to bite his lip, and wound up drawing blood instead of avoiding laughter. He wiped his bottom lip, and listened to Bel speak to him. She was almost hypnotizing with her looks, but Turles wasn't very interested in relationships. However it was something about her that drew him to want to listen to her. Something other worldly.

He heard her suggest that he should reconnect with his heritage. The Saiyan shook his head and bit his lip. A feeling of slight anger came over him. His fists clenched, and he took a deep breath.

"I just," Turles began, "I needed a break from it all. Okay? I don't feel for them because they don't feel for me. I'm a low class, but I've grown stronger since I took my focus off of killing. Now tell me, why should I care about the Saiyan race when they never believed in me in the first place? Everything is set up by social class, and how you were born. Those are things that you don't have control over! So I moved to Earth, and now I live life how I want to. The fact that they're trying to ruin my peacefulness irks me as well. Look at me. Look at what I have become! I can't deal with being a monster. Maybe being on Earth has made me 'soft', but I don't care for killing any more. I just want to fight. I just want to become stronger. That's all I really care about, and if they can't accept that, then oh well. As far as my involvement, you probably don't know me very well. I have a tendency to stay off of the radar. Sorry for flooding you with all of this. Maybe my mind will change.

Turles shook his head, and looked towards the ground. His eyes shifted back up to Bel before he decided that it was time to speak again.

"There's something different about you. You weren't really scared when you approached me. Instead, you made sure to learn the situation. Something tells me that not only can you fend for yourself, but you're no ordinary human. If you're even human. I'm sorry but I get this essence from you. Something is a little off."
