"I love being wealthy so much. I found all of these awesome things I can wear, and they were so cheap, well, to me, anyway" said the voice of the 18 year old Bulla, who giggled excitedly as she carried out massive amounts of bags and boxes with ease, moving out of the mall that was in Hercule City and started putting them all away in her car. She was in a very happy mood over what she had managed to buy over at this shop, and she was eager to get all she bought back to her home at Capsule Corp.

She had thought that there was absolutely no way that this day could turn out bad for her. After all, she was getting training with her Daddy, she was a Super Saiyan 4, and right now she had gotten new clothes. So, all in all, she was very giddy and happy with how things were turning out for her. After making sure to put all the stuff she had bought in the trunk of the car, as well as in the backseat, she was about to get in her car and drive off, when she was suddenly surrounded by a bunch of gang members.

Frowning to herself in an irritated manner, she adjusted the designer, super expensive purse she had strapped over her shoulder, glaring at the idiots that had dared to accost her. She didn't know what it was that they wanted, but that didn't really matter to her at this moment in time. All she knew was that these idiots clearly wanted something from her, and it was a no-brainer that they were wanting to take it from her under illicit, very unpleasant means. With her glare still in place, she scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at them.

"What the hell do you worthless idiots want?" she asked with an irritated, very Vegeta-esque scowl on her face. The thugs around her smirked and pulled out various weapons of some kind, and were brandishing them with malicious intent. This, of course, had caused her to snort in an amused manner, even more so when she saw that her clear and utter disregard for them just made them bristle. Really, due to how strong she had become, these idiots were of no concern to her. Hell, even before she had started training, she would have still been strong enough to deal with these idiots.

"Give us your money and all of your valuables, Briefs whore" came the voice of what she presumed to be the leader of these worthless band of witless idiots. Raising an eyebrow calmly, she chuckled in an amused manner and just continued to show how much she wasn't taking them seriously. Really, if these fools thought they would be capable of mugging her, than they had another thing coming, that was for sure. She was going to make sure that they knew who's name to curse when they got sent to hell.

"Oh please, you worthless, knuckle-dragging morons couldn't threaten a kitten. You picked the wrong person to mess with, and I'll personally make sure you fools have a name to curse in the afterlife when I kill you" she said, smirking at them in a bloodthirsty manner. With a scream, she powered up just enough to where her aura would explode out from her and cover her body. With another scream, she quickly launched herself at the thugs, and was quick to begin her extermination of these goons. No one would be able to save them, absolutely no one, and it's not like anyone would bother trying.

The throbbing in Videl’s head wouldn’t die down. It had been several hours since her adventure with Gohan in which she hit her head, and she was now flying through the air, dodging skyscrapers and darting around Hercule City, keeping watch. After all, she was the guardian of this city, in a way.

“Videl!” A voice called out. It was coming from the communicator on her wrist. “Videl, that gang of fiends you’ve been hunting for the past few months just appeared on the radar. It appears they’re trailing a blue-headed girl towards the parking lot of the shopping district.”

“Alright, I’m on my way. Videl out!”

Man, these guys again. Every time they hit a place or rob someone when I’m not available, but not this time. This time I’ve got them!

It only took a matter of seconds for Videl to arrive and spot the gank surrounding the car of a familiar face. “Bulla,” she gasped. “What are you doing here?”

Floating down, her feet touched the concrete of the sidewalk across from the standoff, eyes moving cautiously from the half-Saiyan to the gang members, taking in everything that was happening. All the little details, her keen eye was so well trained at picking them up. Bulla was still too young to show it, but Videl sensed impressive fluctuations in her energy, particularly compared to the gang. Although, considering the average human had a power level of five, that wasn’t really surprising.

But then, that short, challenging speech. There was no reply, just a sadistic grin, and Videl watched on, mouth slightly agape as her eyes widened in shock at the raw energy that ripped and tore at the very air itself surrounding Bulla. As quickly as the white flurry of energy had come, it disappeared again, leaving nothing but smoke and the half-Saiyan Princess shining under the light of the sun. It was a gorgeous sight, but Videl couldn’t be captivated for long.

“These guys are under arrest, B—“ It was too late. Already vanished, Videl lost track of her friend as she went to work on the gang.

The daughter of the champ hoped only that they survived, so that they might face justice.

Bulla grinned excitedly as she raced towards one of the thugs, quickly unleashing a barrage of vicious punches and kicks upon him. The thug was dead with the first hit, but Bulla made sure to viciously maul the body before she sent it flying back with a powerful front kick. She was determined to send a message, a message that said to everyone that Bulla Briefs wasn't anyone that should be messed with. These thugs had messed with the wrong person today, and because of that, they would pay for it with their lives. Bulla demanded nothing less than that.

"HA! One down" she commented as she turned her attention to the remaining thugs. Grinning in amusement, she quickly placed her hands above her head, and gathered Ki into her palms. Summoning an orange Ki Sphere in her hands, she quickly launched it forward, summoning a powerful Dodon Wave that she unleashed upon the worthless thugs. Due to her speed, there was no way that they would be able to avoid what was heading their way. Two of the thugs were completely obliterated, but rather than the Dodon Wave continuing on and hitting any innocent bystanders or blowing anything up, Bulla had proceeded to curve it and send it at the other thugs.

She circled the Energy Wave around her, quickly vaporizing all of the thugs that had done something so foolish as to try and mess with her. In a flash, all of them were dead, and Bulla quickly launched the Dodon Wave skywards, detonating it in mid-air harmlessly. With a very Vegeta-esque smirk on her face, she quickly dusted off her hands, looking awfully pleased with herself over what she had just done, as if murdering a bunch of powerless thugs was something as casual as a discussion about the weather.

"Fools! I AM the Hype, and if you want to step to me, you better have the swag" she said, mocking the now vaporized, and most assuredly dead, thugs, before going back to placing all of her bags and other such items away in her car. As she proceeded to go about doing this task, she just noticed a familiar Energy Signature that was VERY close by. She didn't notice it originally because she was far too focused on amusing herself by killing off the wretched idiots that had came up with the unfathomably stupid idea of messing with her.

Turning to see who it was that she clearly knew who was so close by, she was surprised to see Pan's Mom, Videl. Raising her eyebrows in surprise over seeing the crime fighter, the daughter of that oaf Hercule Satan, she quickly switched moods, going from bloodthirsty, arrogant Saiyan Princess-In-Training, to friendly, excited teenage girl. Why wouldn't she be excited? After all, she liked Videl, she was one of the females that Bulla knew in her life who she could respect. After all, Videl was a fighter, someone who took her training seriously, unlike most of the girls she had to put up with in school.

Upon seeing that it was Videl, Bulla wasted no time in greeting her. "Oh, hey Videl. How's it going?" she asked, waving with an excited expression on her face. She switched moods super quickly, so fast that someone could get mood whiplash. She seemed awfully nonplussed about her little act of slaughter, and instead had moved on to greet Videl joyfully, as if what she had just done had never even happened in the first place. It was quite strange, without a doubt, but Bulla didn't act as if she was affected by it at all.

When Videl saw the Princess move, when she saw her fight… it was sublime. The movement, eloquent, fierce and absolute. Every motion was flowing, but the intense force behind it was a secret that only Videl knew in this instant, but even the martial artist couldn’t possibly comprehend how deep that power truly was.

It was brutal. What Bulla was doing wasn’t just defeating an opponent, she was massacring them, slaughtering them. Torturing them before they each were killed in turn with a tremendous application of force, causing blood to spray against the walls, over the pavement, and then with one ferocious blow, the white shirt (and even Videl’s exposed chest and neck) were covered. Warm red ooze trickled over her skin, seeping down her shirt as her eyes just focused on her blue-haired friend, honestly shocked.

Taste. There was a strange metallic taste on her lips.

Blood.

“Bulla!” Videl shouted, raising a glove and wiping her mouth and chin. Never before had she seen such a brutal display of justice.

Growling, the dark-haired women dashed over after the fighting had stopped, pressing a button to instantly turn Bulla’s car, along with all the shopping bags, into a capsule. Grabbing it and stuffing it in a pocket, she turned and grabbed the wrist of her friend. “Come with me.”

What she was doing… was it wrong? It had been self-defence, but Bulla still just murdered all those people. “Look at me, I’m absolutely covered in blood! Ugh! Bulla you can’t just do that,” she said as sirens wailed around them. Their hair sailed behind them as they flew through the air, almost tangling together because of how Videl was holding her.

“Look at them, they’re all over that place already. If I hadn’t grabbed you, your entire family would be trouble. You might be superheroes but Bulma and your grandparents aren’t, and besides that, those guys should have stood for a trail. Why did you kill them?”

Sighing, Videl just shook her hand as she approached the courtyard to her mansion.

“Here, no one’s home. It’s just us.”

Landing, Videl let Bulla go and pinched the bridge of her nose, shivering as blood continued to drip off of her. “I’ve never… seen anything like that before.”

Repressing the urge to throw up, she shoots Bulla a glare and nods towards her house. “Come with me, we’re going to talk.”

Diving into her pocket, she pulled out the same capsule from early and flicked it to Bulla. “Don’t forget your things.”

Turning on her heel, she marched up the front steps, waiting until both of them were safely inside before lifting her shirt up over her head, throwing the blood-stained and likely ruined garment to the floor. “Great, my favourite shirt.”

Even her white sports bra was tainted with lesser blood. It was frustrating.

No, wait, she couldn’t think like that. Those guys deserved a fair trial…

But they would have killed Bulla, if they could…

Sighing, Videl pointed towards the sauna in the gym. “It’s just us, go on, relax. There’s no maids or anything on duty today.”

As if to further prove her point, Videl stripped naked in front of her friend and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around her not for privacy, but so she wouldn’t burn herself when she sat down. Being seen like this wasn’t really a big deal for her -- the teenager was family to her, and after growing up with teammates and people around her, it was normal to her -- to certain people, of course.

Entering the sauna, she prepared the coils and started steaming the room, before passing Bulla on the way out. “I still have blood all over me, I’m going to wash it off, I’ll be right back.”

In no time, Videl was clean and back in the sauna, sitting right next to Bulla, looking into her eyes. “So, tell me… exactly why did you kill those people? They were scumbags but do you honestly believe they deserved to die without a trial in that kind of manner? It was… violent…”

The dark haired women undid her ponytails and let her hair fall around her as she looked up at the ceiling, waves of heat washing over them both. “I wish I could make this sound better, or make me feel better. But… I guess I’m not used to doing things like that. I want you to explain it to me. Friend to friend, woman to woman. Warrior to warrior. Why do you fight like that?”

Bulla raised an eyebrow in curiosity when Videl had just called out to her like that. She could tell that Videl was feeling concern, but what that concern was directed at, she didn't know. What was she getting all worked up about? Bulla was fine, she didn't have a single scratch on her, so what was she getting all worked up over? It was really quite confusing to her what the worry Videl was clearly feeling was about. Bulla blinked when Videl came closer, and before she could say anything, her car was turned into a capsule and thrusted into her hand.

Looking at Videl with a confused expression on her face, she spoke up. "What's wrong, Videl?" she asked, tilting her head to the side as she asked her question. Hearing Videl complain about the blood that was on her had caused Bulla's lips to twitch upwards in amusement. Then again, she could understand exactly how the Daughter of Hercule Satan felt. She didn't like blood getting into any of her beloved outfits, considering blood was very hard to get out of various kinds of materials. The thought of being drenched in blood had caused Bulla's nose to wrinkle up in a bit of disgust.

Videl had told her that she couldn't just do that, and what 'that was, was quite obvious. She was referring to the witless idiots she had exterminated. Oh yes, she remembered that Videl was huge on fair trial and justice. She was Paragon, while Bulla was more Renegade for life, just like her father. Whereas before, Bulla wouldn't have even thought of trying to fight people on her own, now, she was more than happy to lay the smackdown on any worthless fool that had dares to cross her. It was a keen adaptation process that had resulted in the awakening of her Saiyan instincts.

Before she could say anything, though, Videl was quick to tell her why she shouldn't have done that, and then asked why she did it. Hearing this, Bulla let out a scoff and crossed her arms, scowling in a very Vegeta-esque manner, looking mighty unconcerned with what was being said to her right at this moment in time. Even as Videl lead her away to her house, she didn't look at all concerned or worried about anything she did. After all, the police and the King's Guard could TRY and mess with her family, but they wouldn't get very far with that.

When they got to the house of Videl's Father, she was instructed to use the sauna, and Bulla raised an eyebrow at her for a moment, before shrugging her shoulders and stripping herself of her clothes, before entering the sauna and waiting for Videl to come in as well. She didn't bother with a towel, since there would be no one else but Videl and herself in this house, anyway. There was no need to cover herself at all, when this was supposed to be a friendly setting of some sort.

Videl finally entered, and as soon as she sat down, she immediately got right down to business by asking Bulla why she killed those witless idiots. Scoffing and crossing her arms, scowling in a very Vegeta-esque manner once more like she did earlier, she was quick to reply. "The fact those idiots thought they would try and rob some innocent person just to make a quick buck, and were willing to harm someone just to get their way means they deserve to die. Justice may be fair, but it sure as fuck doesn't always work. Those idiots were obviously unrepentant, so I figured I would end the ratfucks as quickly as possible" she said with a grunt.

Then Videl had asked her why it was she fought like that, which had caused her to tense up. She didn't like to tell anyone this story, but since Videl was asking, and they were friends, she figured it was alright to tell her. After all, Bulla was certainly very different than how she used to be, and while she had always acted quite like her Father, it was clear that now, she was every bit more like her Father than she used to be.

"I was working on a ship because I was bored and wanted to work my mind, but during the testing phase, something went wrong and I got blasted to Planet Vegeta, where I was abducted by the Saiyans and forced into their army once they found out I was a Hybrid. I had to do all kinds of horrible things as a member of the Saiyan Army, things that had caused me to awaken my Saiyan side, fueling my desire to get stronger. I fight like I do to ensure that those who threaten me, or those I care about, never get to force me to do something against my will ever again. If you mess with me or a loved one of mine, I will end you without question" she said with a grunt.

Supressing a yawn due to the humidity and heat of the sauna, Videl leaned back and watched Bulla with interest, paying close attention as she spoke.

The words the Princess spoke were somewhat harsh. The dark haired woman had heard them before, but coming from a loved one they were much sharper than they ever had been before. They actually made her think.

“You’re right, it doesn’t always work. And there’s always the possibility that those crooks could go and just hurt someone else…”

Running her fingers through her hair, Videl stood up as Bulla continued, taking her towel off and placing it on the bench, stretching in the steam in front of the young woman, still listening to her as she made her wave over to pour more water over the coals.

Returning as Bulla finished her rant, she stood in front of her friend and paused.

“Bulla…”

Videl took her seat next to the young woman and wrapped an arm around her neck, pulling her into a warm embrace. “I had no idea. I’m so sorry.” The heat made it uncomfortable, but it was all she could think to do to comfort her friend.

Of course, she wasn’t going to say it, but the implications of being abducted by a bunch of ruthless and tasteless Saiyans meant that…

“You poor thing. You must hate the Saiyans now, I guess? I… I would hurt them all for what they did. That’s unforgivable, to do that to a girl!”

Sighing, she shook her head. “But I’m just a human… I could never take on a Saiyan like that. Even if I changed how I fought and wanted to kill, I’m… weak.”

Letting go of Bulla, she rested back against the towel on the bench, her bare body glistening with sweat in the intense humidity, hair matting over her skin. Pushing her hair out of her face, she kept her kind gaze focused on Bulla.

“I want to change. I want to be able to defend Pan, and you. People I care about. But I… can’t. Because I’m human? Or because my mind is weak…”

Silence passed for a few minutes before she prodded Bulla’s thigh with her toe and laid back on the bench, head propped up on a bundled up towel. “I don’t know what to do, Bulla.”

Bulla was happy to hear that Videl agreed with her when she said the justice system and such doesn't always work. She always thought Videl was a smart woman, and with plenty of common sense as well, so Bulla didn't believe for a moment that she would be stubborn or oblivious to that little factoid. So, the fact that Videl agreed with her was something that she was very glad to hear. The fact that she wasn't going to disagree with her or try to dissuade her from killing others who do wrong, at least so far, was something that she was glad to hear.

"So you get my point, then. Criminals generally aren't very bright, since they have chosen to break the law. Some learn their lesson and regret what they did, and that's fine, but what about those who repeatedly commit crimes, and no matter how many times you sentence them, they never learn their lesson? What do you do when you face people who will repeatedly commit crimes, because either they don't care, or they're just too dumb to become successful in legal ways? What else can you do other than extract some street justice?

If you face problems like that on the street, than you need to make sure they and all criminals realize that there are consequences for their actions. If justice and doing time in the slammer, or even facing the possibility of death row, won't convince them to change their ways, than you put them down, and put them down hard. If the police have a problem with it, than tough luck, because while they may considering you taking the law into your own hands, all you're doing is fixing a problem they should be fixing themselves"
she said, ranting to Videl about her thoughts on the matter.

She clearly thought there was nothing wrong with killing criminals if she felt such a thing was needed. She herself had faced criminal actions against her, and was forced to commit criminal acts out of fear of survival, and ever since she had managed to escape, she was going to make sure that no one was ever able to force her into doing things she didn't want to do ever again. She may have awakened her more bloodthirsty Saiyan out of an act of survival, but she wasn't going to participate in hapless slaughter. She would only kill those who deserved it.

Bulla could tell that, during her story, Videl was quite clearly affected by what she had explained that caused her to change so drastically. It was relaxing to get the story off of her chest, like when she had told Trunks. Bottling it all up quietly had just made her more irritable and bloodthirsty than she had wanted to be, and she would be damned before she would become just like those bigoted, selfish assholes, AKA the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta, that had made her do disgusting, vile things that she didn't want to do. She would not forgive them for that.

She was quickly pulled into a hug by Videl, who clearly felt sympathy and sorrow for her, and Bulla quietly hugged her back. She wouldn't cry or show any sadness to let anyone know what she was thinking. She wouldn't be weak again, she refused to shed tears and cry like a frightened little girl. She was a warrior, a hardened warrior who had seen, and done, terrible things. While she was still very much the same Bulla Briefs she always was, she had a more hardened edge to her that made her more likely to stomp a motherfucker into paste if she ever needed to.

"I hate the way they live, the disgusting xenophobic tendencies, and their bloodthirstiness being on such a level that they would happily slaughter entire races just to prove themselves superior. I don't hate them, as they are still part of me, and even though I have awoken a more Saiyan side to myself out of a sake of survival, I still loathe the way they live, and will not give them satisfaction of having me on their side. They are what convinced me to change my mindset a bit about people who do evil things needing to be punished harshly for what they do" she said to her.

Videl then proceeded to express her desire to protect Pan, and everyone else she knew, loved, and cared about, but felt she couldn't do so because she felt she was weak. She even admitted that she didn't know what to do, and Bulla's eyes hardened over a bit at this. What Videl was feeling right now, was something that Bulla had been thinking herself while she had been an unwilling part of the Saiyan Army. She could understand exactly what it was that Videl was going through.

Once the hug that Videl had initiated ended, Bulla quickly moved in and gave Videl a comforting hug of her own, wanting to let her know that she was here in her time of need. Bulla was not going to let Videl suffer in silence over this little indecision and insecurity she was feeling right now. Bulla had experienced it herself, after all, and she would be damned before she would let anyone she cared about suffer that feeling. Oh no, she was going to make sure that Videl had the comfort and support she needed to change herself around.

"All you can do is grow stronger Videl, grow beyond the strength you thought was possible for you to ever achieve, and then shatter that glass ceiling and grow stronger still. Being a Human does not automatically make you weak. You're only weak if you get complacent and never bother to improve yourself. All you can do is train, train until you bleed, train until you vomit, train until you pass out from exhaustion, train until your muscles nearly tear themselves part and your bones break, and then push past that and get ever stronger still. You will really need to push yourself until you can't go anymore, and then push past those limits. That's all you can do, but I believe you can do it" she said in a comforting manner, wanting her speech to really inspire Videl to grow into a level of power she knew Videl would be more than capable of achieving. She wanted Videl to develop the desire to grow that strong, and then grow even stronger than that.

A small blush crossed Videl’s features as she felt Bulla tightly wrap around her in an affectionate hug, pausing only for a moment before she returned it and wrapped her arms around her friend’s midriff and squeezed warmly. “I know… but this curiosity is more than that… something happened to me earlier today and I haven’t told you about it yet, Bulla…”

The steam in the sauna had started to fade, leaving Videl bare, cold, being cradled in her friends arms as she began to admit the true chaos in her mind.

“So… I know you’re not really his biggest fan, you always go on about what a dork he is and… stuff… But I hit my head earlier…” Waving a hand up to her now perfectly normal flesh, Videl continued. “I had a senzu bean, but… I started hearing these bells go off in my head, and they got louder and hurt worse, and Gohan wouldn’t stop talking. Eventually, he grabbed my arm and I turned around and punched him, ripped my ring off…” Taking a deep breath, Videl looked up at her close friend and looked into those pretty eyes of hers. “I crushed it, threw it at him, and left. Left him. I had to get away, I don’t… really understand what’s happening to me. I just feel different needs.”

Thinking back to when Bulla obliterated the gang, she felt hunger in her stomach. “I think I feel the need to fight, the need for blood, to feel the warm trickle over my fingers as…” It was painful, even talking about it, this insatiable need to be satisfied. “The sound of their screams as I break them. Bulla…”

Trailing off, she looked away once more. “I think my body is aching for power. To feel powerful. I have no clue what’s happening to me, I was in the city when I ran you and I knew we’d be alone here so I just brought you here… I’m sorry.”

Another moment of silence. “I think if I could have, I would have killed Gohan. I wasn’t myself, all I saw was red, I was just… angrier than I’ve ever been. If it was a normal person, a normal guy… I would have killed him. I never would have thought I could take a life but I sit here aching for it…”

Clenching a fist, she starts to breathe rather fast, the steam having faded significantly by this point. The reality of her situation was beginning to sink in. She was sitting, naked, vulnerable, in a sauna, talking to someone she considered family, someone that could end her life in a heartbeat if she so wished, and someone that Videl would consider an absolute heroine.

“I’m so ashamed of what I’m feeling, part of my almost wants you to feed my addiction… But I don’t know if I want to kill someone, or just… blood…”

“I just need it.”

Eyes wide, with short breaths and a quick pulse, Videl stared at Bulla, clearly needing her aid, with the capable half-Saiyan holding the power to either deny Videl, or start her on the journey to bloodlust.
