In the shadows of Mount Paozu, Katalyst would walk along within the surrounding forest region, taking in the scenery. He'd ran through the night to arrive at the base of the mountain range, and now that he was here, the changeling walked about, looking for some form of inspiration to take him. Within the wasteland, the large, rocky terrain had spoken to a need to prove physical endurance, while within the confines of Hercule City, he had tested his adaptability and speed. Pausing as he emerged from the cover of trees, to stand before a lakeshore, he'd look out into the waters, scanning around to see what this place had to offer him. He felt a growing desire within him, to see if his time spent on this world was reaping any benefits, and aside from shifting into his second form, to see if his mastery over his inner power had grown, he wanted a more engaging test. Looking up towards the skies, Katalyst wanted an opponent, for one could lift rocks all day for years, and still lack the experience and comprehension that battle brought. Perhaps he might run into the fabled warrior that called this mountain range home, or perhaps fate might send forth a challenger to test his mettle.

At this point the changeling would simply, with a flick of his tail, pick up a stone. Lowering his stance, and rearing back his arm, he'd toss the rock, watching it skip across the water's surface, until it reached the other side of the lake. He'd pause here for a time, perhaps find some revelation in meditation. Maybe an answer would present itself.

Freedom.

Drake thinks to himself as he effortlessly soars through the skies surrounding Mount Paozu. This wonderment continues to astonish Drake as lowers in altitude, his eyes scanning the surroundings. This was a feeling, an experience, he could never have experienced had his brother still been alive. Though it was bittersweet to reminisce of such a time, Drake knew he was correct. If he was still living that life, He'd be a nobody. As he flies and continues to brood, Drake quickly finds himself headed right for a tree. Thankfully, Drake snaps out of it near the last minute and banks to the right, his body narrowly missing the tree. Deciding to test himself, Drake dives down and into the forest below, his form quickly darting in between the trees. Though he was a newcomer to flight, his body was adapting at a startling rate. Honestly, he felt both a mixture of eagerness and anxiety. While he had just opened this new realm of possibility to himself, he also knew there were realms of power still leagues beyond this one. Drake quickly dips to avoid a branch before rotating his body in order to fly through a gap between two trees. Now seeing a clearing ahead, Drake accelerates to see just fast he can go. The sudden increase in speed proves to be a bit much and Drake is unable to avoid flying through a rather thick patch of foliage. Emerging from the treeline, Drake ceases his flight and hovers over what appears to be a small body of water beneath him.

Tearing some twigs and leaves from his figure, Drake quickly surveys his surroundings. He notes a lake, the sound of a stone skipping across said lake, and the changeling responsible for throwing said rock. Drake heard their kind was quite prone to rather copious amounts of cruelty and that itself was enough to make him wary.

" A Frieza? Jeez, someones a long way from home " Drake says as a grin crawls onto his face. The Saiyan portion of his genes were making him both arrogant and yearning for a fight.

H'ed heard the saiyan before he'd seen him, the racket of crashing through bush and tree being picked up by his hearing, so much greater than that of an earthling. As the creature flew out of the woods, to hover over the lake, he'd already note what the ability to fly meant, and how he would deal with such a development. He didn't know much about Saiyan culture, save that they were a barbarous race, more at home in a brawl than at their hearth, so to come across one here was already the openings to hostility. Still, he had to admire the tenacity of a species that refused to say die, yet the arrogance that seemed bred into their children was irritating, such as now.

Katalyst would simply cross his arms, an amused grin upon his visage, before responding.

"Ah yes, Frieza, you to have heard of the intergalactic overlord. Must not have seen him then, because I can assure you, we differ in appearance. Though, I suppose I can't fault you for the confusion, for I myself have trouble telling you primates apart sometimes, so it's to be expected."

With opening barbs out of the way, figuring trading casual insults with a saiyan to be something like a greeting to their people, Katalyst would respond to the second point.

"If you see one of my kind, you can almost be assured they are a long way from home. But, I suppose you are wondering why one might have come to this planet. Let me assure you here and now, it's not to annihilate all life, or make it bend the knee to my glory."

He'd word the last bit with a bit of pomp, readily recalling the dramatics of King Cold and his bloodline, always so eager for domination. Honestly, from what he'd heard of Frieza, in the hushed whispers of his conquered people, the being was a vain one, so maybe it served to sooth his pride and narcissism. He'd smirk somewhat at the thought, before continuing.

"No, I am here for simpler reasons. These mountains, the big one in particular, they call it Mount Paozu. People say that somewhere within it's shadows, living in a land of beasts and other dangers, there lives a mighty warrior, calling this wilderness home. I've come to see what sort of land breeds such warriors, and perhaps gain some insight into my own training. It's a development thing, for this world has so many lessons to teach, and I'm eager to learn as much as I can from it, so why bother destroying it? But, I'm rambling, excuse me for my indulgence."

The alien would give a curt nod towards the saiyan, before speaking.

"I am called Katalyst, and it is a pleasure to meet one such as yourself, mister...."

He was now turning his interests towards this saiyan here, and his purpose. All with the blood of that brutal race heard the call to be fighters, so it wasn't a question on if he'd come here looking for a challenge, no. It was really a question if he'd come here seeking that challenge in particular from Katalyst. His species was not exactly the most loved in the galactic community, so he wouldn't be surprised if the monkey had come to slay himself an alien, and reap the rewards of such. He'd simply need to play the cards as they were dealt, but already, he was planning on how he'd get out of a confrontation alive, if push came to shove.

As the changeling speaks and introduces itself, Drake learns something he didn't know before. A mighty warrior apparently lived or trained around these parts. That in and of itself was cause for some rejoicing. That meant that after he got done with the changeling, he could move on and find an even better challenge. The thought of growing stronger is enough to distract Drake as the changeling nears the end of its dialogue, the hybrid barely realizing the end of said dialogue in time.

" You can call me Drake. " Drake says as he takes the cue and finishes the sentence.

Drake couldn't help but start to chuckle afterward. He didn't expect to meet a changeling let alone a changeling with both manners and a distinct lack of arrogance. Still, something about the appearance of their kind made him feel uneasy. Should an attack suddenly find itself launched in his direction, he wouldn't be surprised. He heard tales of the Galactic Tyrant and his merry little family of lunatics before. Apparently they were at war with the Saiyans or something. It didn't really matter to Drake in the end as he cared little for his fathers people. Underneath the unease, drake could feel his blood beginning to boil. He may have hated his father but even Drake couldn't deny his heritage and what that bestowed upon him. This was an opponent who could probably give him a decent fight. On top of that, It would provide a decent test for his flight at the very least. With that in mind, Drake flies toward the changelings position at a slow and steady pace. He would pass the changeling and go on for about twenty feet before coming to a halt. Once halted, Drake descends to the ground and turns toward the changeling. Drake then proceeds to remove his jacket as it would only get in the way for the fight he already has cooked up inside his head.

" What do you say to a fight, buddy? I'm sure it'd be one hell of a time. "He says with a rather malicious undertone.

Despite making it sound as if there is a choice, Drake does not hesitate to begin getting into a combat stance. Having his right leg take up position behind him, Drake positions himself so his left side is mostly facing the changeling. Drake keeps his attention focused on the changeling whilst he raises both of his arms, his left arm bent at the joint and held up to guard his face whilst the right is held in a similar manner. It is a basic stance with enough put into it to cover the barest of essentials when it comes to fighting. The stance appears to favor a right handed approach or dominant right side when it comes to fighting. Additionally, Drake allows the full extent of his power to show itself then and there. If his opponent had the stones to accept, he wanted him to know exactly what he was getting himself into. Seeing as his opponent was of a race often cited to be the strongest in the galaxy, Drake had high hopes for this fight.

And there it was, the challenge Katalyst had been looking for since arriving. It had seemed only a matter of time before the Saiyan sought a fight, for, as he had read, their kind was one that rarely could stand by while there was someone of mettle to face off against. Of course, he would be cautious, for the Saiyans were not as meek as they had been in days past, and even then, he'd heard of their combat prowess, and ferocity when the fighting began. This Saiyan had already displayed a mastery of flight, which was again something he could not replicate, and though he lacked a scouter, he was sure that the being before him was of tempered caliber, not some gnat to slap aside, like oh so many of those overly aggressive earthlings had been. Watching as the Saiyan moved into a combative stance, already showing his posture on being given a no, Katalyst would simple shrug, before replying, his composure betraying no sign of hesitation on his part.

"Straight to the point, a trait I have always admired about your people. Very well, I'm more than game, it's been too long since I've had a good fight, and I want to see just how far I've come in my training."

He'd eye the Saiyan's stance, before simply flexing his shoulders, and keeping up an almost relaxed posture. He knew no stances, martial arts training was something that had eluded him, but he'd simply run on instincts, keeping his legs spread, and his arms to his sides, facing his opponent directly, his tail flicking behind him, like that of a cat eyeing it's prey. When the first blow came, he'd be relying on his ability to recognize the oncoming threat, and react in the brief span of time, but then, he'd always been adaptable. Let the Saiyan play the solid, unbending boulder of force, for he would play the part of the river, flowing around the oncoming blows.

And there he would stand, body tensed, and mind ready, staring directly into the Saiyan's eyes, looking for any signs of aggression. He'd remain waiting, knowing that with the almost tangible air of offense radiating off the man, he wouldn't need to wait long before he took the initiative. One could always trust a Saiyan to attack first when given the chance, and since he'd issued the challenge, it would seem fitting.
