Always the lone wanderer, Nexon had stopped by at a location known as Pepper Town. The small village wasn't as technologically advanced or as large as the main cities but the people seemed tightly knit and well off. The cloaked adolescent wandered up to the local inn, pushing past two swinging doors at the entrance. Upon entering the sound of music and conversation filled the atmosphere of the small mess hall within, it seemed this was the place where the townsfolk gathered when they had free time on their hands. Nexon got a few glances from the people, they weren't used to getting a lot of outsiders but they were polite enough to avert their gaze and continue on with their business. The tall male made his way to the front where he approached a middle-aged woman. She had on a flowered apron, on her head were two silk ribbons that tied her hair into buns, keeping her delicate features uncovered by her light brown locks. "Are you new around here? We don't get visitors very often." She smiled sweetly at the large male, her voice was smooth and carried a motherly tone about it. "Yeah, I'm new. I was looking for a place to spend the night so I could get some supplies. How much is a room?" The woman nodded her head and turned around for a moment, addressing a wall behind her with numbers that went from 1 to 20. "Aha! Yeah, it looks like room 17 is open. It's a single bedroom and it's only 15 zeni per night." Nexon nodded his head, his emotionless look shifted to a light smile as he reached into his cloak and removed the small metallic currency. "Thank you. I'll take it." After the exchange, the woman smiled sweetly once more, as Nexon turned to leave, she spoke up, stopping him for a moment. "Oh, we also serve breakfast bright and early! I'll make sure to give you a holler once everything is made." Nexon paused and let out a soft chuckle, she was sweet and very courteous, this woman reminded him of Akeno. "Sounds good. Thank you again." With that, Nexon turned away and headed down the corridor to the door near the end of the hall, a large "17" was put on the face of the oak door in golden letters. "This must be it." Nexon's left hand reached for the knob, his armor covered fingers making a soft metallic clang as he grasped at the knob and swung the door open. The male let out a soft sigh of relaxation as he entered the quaint room, a singe bed with clean pale blue sheets and a pillow to match. On the side was a dresser with a small television and a a vase with an assortment of colourful flowers inside. Nexon closed the door, turning to see the opened bathroom, it was a white tiled floor and wall with a clean sink, bathtub, shower and toilet. The place was very clean and for once, he felt at comfort, this was definitely a step up from making his own camp site. Nexon let his cloak slide down off of his shoulders and folded it on the cabinet, as he did this, he allowed his scythe to rest against the corner of the wall, taking in a breath of air. The young martial artist examined his left arm, the metallic plating covering it was all he knew, he could barely remember what his left arm used to look like. Still, it was not damaged enough to lose, under it, the crippled remains of his left arm were intact. The same went for his right leg, the armor merely kept his limbs secured and for the most part, shielded so that he did not delay the healing process. Examining his armored forearm, Nexon recalled the events that made him realize he had a long way to go in becoming a true martial artist. He had come across one, General Sol of the Kings Guard and another, Gatz, the leader of Final Heaven. Both were powerful, incredibly powerful and both of them helped Nexon realize just how he paled in comparison. He recalled fighting against the Crane Princess, Taoranran, she was extremely powerful and in comparison, she was able to toy with the crimson haired warrior. She didn't even have to look in his general direction to beat him, the world was filled with powerful people and just like he did many years ago, Nexon felt weak. All of his training and hard work, it wasn't nearly enough, he hadn't even made a dent in the wall separating the power differences between himself and the best the world had to offer. If there were people out there as strong as Gatz and Sol, Nexon could only imagine what happened to Lagi, perhaps he was erased but what Nexon wondered was if Lagi had become that powerful. He was grown up, but even still, Nexon did not want to fall behind anymore, he was sick of having to chase after other people. "I'll do it. I'll become as strong as possible and once I have the strength to beat anyone, I'll look for you Lagi. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're alright." The young fighter fell back onto his bed, resting his head on the pillow as he simply stared up at the ceiling. He was determined to see his goal through to the end, it had been such a long time since he had something to fight for and now that he had his fire back, Nexon intended to use it. As he contemplated, the inn itself began to grow more and more quiet until several hours had passed, Nexon still awake stared up at the ceiling in deep thought, he couldn't understand why but for the first time in years, he was anxious. It wasn't fear, it was the feeling of excitement, he had a goal and like his Saiyan blood, he grew restless at the thought of a challenge to overtake. WC: 1014 |

Finally giving into his fatigue, Nexon fell into a deep sleep, the world around him grew dark and he closed his eyes. Suddenly, what felt like a moment of rest was interrupted by the sound of a massive explosion. Nexon's eyes shot open and as he leaped from his bed, the wall beside it was reduced to shrapnel, shards of wood were sent flying everywhere, destroying the room completely. Nexon however, managed to leap from the way and in an instant, he grabbed his things before breaking through the wall to the next room. The sound of gunfire and the roar of canons deafened the cries of fear and panic as Nexon rose to his feet, covered in rubble. He looked to see a couple hiding beside the bed in fear as they looked to Nexon. "They look just as confused as I am....well I did just break into their room." The red head's eyes narrowed as the sound of an incoming projectile cut through the air. The young martial artist leaped forward and grasped both people before using his flight to break through the inn and the ceiling. He held both the man and woman by their waists and from the sky, they could see what was going on. Tanks, soldiers and fighter planes filled the area, this was a hostile take over from the Red Ribbon Army and it seemed Pepper Town was going to become an expansion to the armies' base of operations. The familiar "RR" symbol was placed upon all the instruments of war and as the town burned, the demands of the Red Ribbon Army could be heard. "You have all been chosen as test subjects for the Red Ribbon Army to conduct experiments on. Leave your homes now or perish with them, the choice is yours!" Nexon descended to the outskirts of the town and dropped the people off into the heavily forested area. "Go. Now. Keep running until you're put of the Red Ribbon armies' territory." The two people nodded their head in thanks and took off into the brush, they could warn any other small towns or villages they came across, for now, Nexon would save as many people as he could. The young martial artist darted into the village, searching through buildings and rubble as he pulled people out of the literal line of fire. He would use his own body as a bullet shield in order to save any trapped or injured people, though he could not rescue everyone. Whoever was not killed, the Red Ribbon Army abducted and would return to their base of operations. The tanks all lined up and began to fire, Nexon responded, throwing multiple blasts of ki ti intercept the rain of shells and keep the town from being reduced to dust. "You! If you continue to interfere, we will erase you as well!" The tanks, fighter planes and soldiers attacked, as Nexon took to the skies, dodging as many stray bullets and mortar shells as he could, drawing the fire away from the town itself. "Bastards! Let's see how you deal with this!" Nexon's eyes burned with a dark crimson and in a yell of anger, he released his Eye Lasers, scarring the battlefield as the beams of energy wiped out hundreds of soldiers and dozens of tanks. A heavy impact struck the crimson haired warrior from behind, interrupting his attack. The fighter planes had organized and launched their missiles, Nexon darted to the left as the dozens of missiles followed behind him. "Damn it...need to get rid of these." Nexon began to dive down to the Earth, heading straight for the army itself, a dark grin moving across his lips as the ground grew ever closer. "I don't want these damn things following me....how about you take 'em back!?" Right before he could hit the ground, Nexon shot up into the air, the missiles raining down onto the tanks and injured soldiers in a hell fire of explosions and carnage. Nexon had eliminated most of the ground forces but he still had the planes to worry about, he wasn't going to let them get away either. The martial artist was beginning to grow a taste for the destruction, his training with Caine was beginning to show. The boy tore through a plane wing, causing it to spiral out of control and crash directly into the ground as he jumped to the next one. The next pilot wasn't so luck, Nexon instead grasped it by the tail and tossed it into another incoming plane, causing a display of fireworks. "Call for reinforcements! Tell the base to execute directive "Last Shadow", we need it here now!" One of the Red Ribbon's colonel's yelled out in a panic, their attack force was being decimated by a single person Nexon grinned darkly as he watched the forces retreat. As the tanks and planes vanished from sight, an eerie air raid echoed from the mountains far to the East. Nexon turned his head and noticed that the landscape had grown almost completely dark. "What the hell is..." As he stared up, his question was answered, past the clouds, blocking the very sunlight itself was a massive airship. "Great...another problem to deal with. I'll get rid of it instantly!" Nexon raised his hand and fired a golden wave of ki energy at the ship, the ki wave roared loudly as it was mere moments from impact. Before the beam could hit it however, an invisible barrier seemed to not only protect the ship but absorb the energy, dispersing it. "Fool! You will only feed our super weapon, have your minuscule energy back!" The ship lined up before the front of the hull began to glow, suddenly a black ki wave shot back, Nexon outstretched his arms only to be completely overwhelmed, it fired back his own blast ten fold and he couldn't stop it. Luckily, he managed to move to the side, the blast continuing on for miles before hitting a mountain range and exploding. The mountain range was gone completely, all that was left was a flat plateau. "I-impossible...it's powerful, absurdly powerful..." WC: 1020 TWC: 2034 |

The Saiyan warrior was taking an average evening stroll, walking through the dense forests at the base of the local mountain. The scenery was pleasing to the eye - greens and browns of the woods mingling together splendidly. Bardock inhaled a breath of fresh air, held it for a moment, then exhaled. There was a lot inside of him that could never be externalized as easily as that could be. To his left, he heard a chirp, presumably from one of the many species of birds that lived in the surrounding area. Suddenly, the vicinity was flooded in an unnatural shadow. Bardock looked up to spot what the source was. Before he could make anything out, a massive wave of pitch black energy raced over his head and made its way towards the mountains. The wave blasted past like a train, blowing down trees and other various fauna that used to live in the area. Not long after, the wave came into contact with the mountain range, touching down in the middle area of the mountain, just above the tree line. All the Saiyan could do at this point was brace for impact. After the initial impact, a second shock wave ravaged the landscape around him, blasting tonnes and tonnes of dirt straight up, creating crests and troughs of Earth in periodic patterns. The trees near the impact were destructively and ferociously uprooted, some being completely detached from the ground and sent flying into the open air, crashing down into the Earth with immense force. The wave soon hit Bardock's area, and to avoid the impending force, he flew into the air, leaving a cyan swirl of ki energy behind him. The wave passed through under him, thundering past like a mighty lion. "Hmph." The saiyan scoffed. He wasn't interested in getting killed today, so he decided that he would investigate further into the origin the gigantic wave. It only took the turning of his head to find that the source of the deadly energy was a gigantic airship, complete with the looming shadow that accompanied all proper massive airships. Just rushing in could be a huge mistake on my part... I have no idea whether or not this machine is capable of anything more powerful than its last blast... And if it is, do I really want to be the one to fight it? After a moment of contemplation, Bardock decided that he would pursue this airship. The Saiyan put his arms back and focused, bringing his ki to a point in his center, then released it, pushing him forward towards his targets at incredible speeds. The wind buffeted his eyes, forcing him to put a hand in front to shield from the incoming gales. Within seconds, he had arrived at the scene, about 300 meters away from the rather large structure. Off in front of him, slightly to the left, was another figure. It looked Saiyan-like, having 2 arms, 2 legs, and a head, but it was hard to tell from the distance Bardock resided at. He did sense a phenomenally high power level coming from the figure. Maybe they were attacking the massive airship? 524 words 524 twc |
