Videl began to sigh as she had just finished another tense day of training, she had been working hard as she was very close to being able to tap into her second transformation, she could taste it as she was so close but she also understood she had to be careful. With as much that had been going on and the re appearance of Cell she knew she had to make sure to stay alert at all times. She had been training hard with Yamcha and had learned a few things from him like the Kamehameha, she could not wait to show the z fighters just how strong she had become. She was no longer the girl that was a hindrance and tried to fight while weak, no she had become so much more powerful. As she stepped into the shower she could only wonder what Gohan had been up to, she had shattered his heart and even had ruined her relationship with Pan, as her fist hit the wall inside, she was such a fool she had lost everything so all she had left was to get stronger as fast as she could. Someday she may be able to make it up to Gohan but she was sure he wanted nothing to do with her, he had a new wife and kids, or was supposed to have kids she was not sure if they had been born yet. She began to clean herself off and after fifteen minutes she turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around her body making her way into the living room as she stared at the roof, this was hers and Gohan's old house it had so many memories for her. She remembered Pans first steps and remembered being the Saiyawoman with Gohan such fun memories as tears ran down her cheeks, still she chose the hard path and knew what it meant when she chose it.

"I was really a fool, I have become stronger but at what cost, I lost my family and have no one to share the joys with how strong I have become, I guess it really is a lot less fun with no one to enjoy how strong you have become. However this is for earth I will become strong and I will save the planet, I wont let it be controlled any longer by those not born on earth. The NRAA seems to be getting active and then that other android army is also scary, if they both chose to make moves I wont be able to enjoy a quiet life and my life may be in danger but I cant worry about that."

She continued to stare at the roof, Gohan was not around so she was sure he would not care if she used the shower, after all she helped pick this house out plus she had many memories here as she remained lost in thought. Gohan was a hero but she had to become someone that could stand at his side as a asset, even if he hated her she would help him save earth.

It had been such a long grueling day. Gohan had spent it getting back to the swing of things as for the first time in a long time, he had a student to train. The kid was young but eager. Gohan had seen a lot of himself in the new student he was training. Minosha was pure of heart in such trying times as he had a certain innocence about him yet at the same time Gohan could sense the fierceness within. It truly was like looking at mirror. Gohan just hoped he could be half as good of a mentor for Minosha as Gohan's father, Goku, and Mister Piccolo had been for him.

After all Gohan was still new to being a "master" so to speak. Sure he had trained and taught other people before but his prize pupil had been Shauna. Only the second woman he had ever fallen in love with.

It still ached when he thought about her. The pain had drove him near mad sometimes as he tried to put on a brave face for others, especially his children, all of them. For it was now just his children that had his heart. And he would be damned if anything ever happened to Pan, Daihan and Kyuuri. For that's what drove him. What motivated him to train even harder. To take the likes of that young innocent pure of heart kid named Minosha under his wing.

Shauna would have wanted him to do so. She wouldn't wish him to weep and mourn for her for long. For she always understood the importance of what he was trying to do. She had been at his side willing and able to do whatever it took to protect those they loved and the planet they came from.

And though Gohan was all alone, it was his responsibility to stay on that path. To hold strong and keep moving forward. So despite the pain, despite the sorrow, despite the cruelty of what happened to Shauna, Gohan did just that. For her memory would live on. Not just in his dedication to his training but in the beautiful smiles of Daihan and Kyuuri.

Daihan and Kyuuri were Shauna's last and greatest gift she had given him. And he would cherish the twins as much as he cherished Pan. He would be the father they deserve. Regardless of Shauna. Regardless of Videl.

Entering his modest home, Gohan wiped the sweat of his forehead, taking in a deep breath before peeling off his Gi down his shoulders, letting it drop to his waist, exposing his chiseled upper body to the open air. With the twins over at his mother's house and Pan staying over at Marron's house for the night, Gohan had the house all too himself for the time being.

"Whew...what a workout! That Minosha kid sure can pack a mean punch," Gohan said to himself, "I think I need to take a shower. Then perhaps I can start on that new book I got. Mother did invite over for dinner as well, so I better hurry."

Gohan was so lost in his own thoughts that he entered the living room, unaware of what or rather who was sitting on his couch till he nearly walked past her.

"Oh hey Videl..." Gohan waved casually at the brunette, thinking nothing of it at first. Then it hit him hard, "VIDEL?!?"

Gohan nearly had whiplash with how fast his head turned to look back at the woman.

"Videl!!!...who...how...where...What are you doing here?!?"

Gohan was completely caught off guard by what he was encountering.

Videl had heard the door open but figured it was Chi-Chi not paying any attention to who entered as maybe Chi-Chi had come over either way she would continue to read martial arts weekly magazine. She then heard a male voice call her name out and begin to ramble as she looked up seeing Goku and his chiseled body naked in front of her causing her to turn her head away. So he was home it seemed she had not heard he had returned but it simply meant she lost her shower place after she practiced in the mountains away from peering eyes. She let out a sigh she was only in a towel as this might be hard to explain but not really it was not unheard of for her to train and this area was away from humans she might freak out with her new skills.

"I was not expecting you to come home, you were in space so while I was training I used your house to shower and also cleaned it up so it did not have mold and other things growing inside of it. You know how it is when you show huge amounts of power and trust me I have gotten much stronger, way stronger then you ever remember me... I know you have a wife now so i will get dressed and take my leave and sorry I did not expect you to be home so soon."

She moved over to her clothes and removed her towel and began to get dressed, as she finished she looked over at Gohan something seemed off but maybe he had a fight with his new wife, she was a Saiyan from what she had heard so there was no way Gohan was making her into a house wife. She would wait for his response as she was sure he would yell at her, but what choice did she have no way she could train her transformation in town, or even in other areas as enemies might try to attack her if she did it anywhere else she felt safe practicing here.

"I do have one complaint I heard you took Pan to space with you and never told me, that is a important decision and I understand I was hard to get a hold of... either way you still should have consulted me about something like this. What if she had got hurt or worse got stuck there it would have been horrible for her."

For being apart for such a long time, Videl sure didn't mind stripping down and getting dressed in front of him. Not that Gohan hadn't seen any of it before, it just seem kind of awkward for Videl to be doing that, especially since they weren't together anymore. And it showed on the slight red on his face as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well...uhhh...well...ummm...this is kind of awkward..."

Gohan was flustered as he couldn't quite string together the words. Videl's presence was not only unexpected but it brought out a flood of emotions. Some that Gohan thought he never would have to worry about again. Yet there she was. And though he wouldn't dare say it out loud, Gohan did miss her. Even after she broke his heart and left him high and dry, deep down inside he always was thinking about her. And how could he not. She was his first love. And for the longest time, he believed his true love. His "happily ever after".

"Hey what? Who told you about...I don't have a wife...who told you that?"

Things were getting a bit more awkward. The last thing he wanted to do was talk about Shauna with his Ex-wife. Luckily, Videl quickly changed the subject. Though it wasn't exactly any better but he would take it over discussing his romance with another woman.

"Hey! Now would you had preferred I left Pan all alone on Earth while I was away?" Gohan boldly asked, fighting the embarrassment of the situation, "Besides my mother was with us. And you know she would never let anything happen to Pan."

As soon as he said his precious daughter's name, a tense silence fell over the home. Gohan stared at Videl, unsure what to say or do next.

"So...umm...how...umm...how have you been?"

She laughed as he said this was awkward to her it was nothing shocking she had been with non one since him so she was still perfectly comfortable around him. She did raise a eyebrow when he said he had no wife, she was certain she had heard he had a wife so this random proclamation saying he did not seemed really out of place. The second she had mentioned him taking Pan off planet he basically called her a bad mother making her face appear angry, so changing the subject maybe him and his girlfriend had a fight whatever the reason he could have still told her they had left his mother with them or not. he asked how she had been after his rant he seemed unusually edgy something was wrong with him as her face changed to a more worried face, she knew Gohan ten years together had taught him everything she needed to know.

"Okay Gohan what is wrong with you, I can tell by the way you responded something is up I was married to you for years and I know your facial expressions and reactions better then anyone. I heard about your wife or soon to be wife from your own mother and father so don't tell me it was not true. As for the Pan thing for now I will ignore that snide remark however something is clearly bothering you Gohan, even if we are not together it does not mean I wont talk to you. I know... how things ended was not exactly good but I have grown since then... not only as a martial artist but as a person I realize my mistakes and know I cant fix what I have done. I only ask you to be open minded about me changing, I don't expect trust from you now but hopefully over time you will come to think of me as a friend again for our daughters sake."

She hoped he listened to her words this was important to her, for them to act like civil adults so Pan did not have such a broken home, it was the last thing she wanted with her mother having vanished ages ago without a trace. That emptiness she had felt when she was gone was extreme and she did not wish Pan to suffer the same fate, so this was her olive branch to Gohan the question was why was he being so edgy and moody this was not like him.

"What's wrong with me?"

Gohan didn't believe what Videl had just said. He had been rather civil, especially with the current circumstances. After all it wasn't like he had asked for Videl to show up back into his life after all that time. He was still dealing with Shauna's death to be pulled back into the original drama that started it all.

"What's wrong with me?" Gohan repeated himself, his mind clearly racing for all sorts of questions and answers but struggling silently to decide which to actually say, "I should be one the asking you that...I mean you were the one that walked out on Pan and me not the other way around, Videl."

After a long day of intense training, Gohan didn't have the energy to get in a heated argument with Videl. Which was saying something, because up to their last encounter, the two of them hardly got into any sort of disagreement during their marriage. And when they did, they didn't raise their voices or got violent about it. Which made Videl's decision to break up with him so much harder to swallow.

And as he stood there, looking at Videl, Gohan didn't know how he should respond. Videl wasn't around for him or Pan, which forced his hand. And now with Kyuuri and Daihan a part of the family, Gohan just didn't know where Videl would fit in. Sure she was still Pan's mother but if she thought she could just walk back into his life and expect him to welcome her back with open arms...well she had it all wrong.

"Friendship requires trust...and Videl, you broke that trust when you decided to walk out of our marriage, leaving me and Pan to do whatever you wanted to do," Gohan didn't know where it was coming from. Perhaps it was all the frustration and anger he had kept bottled up inside since the divorce. Or perhaps it was the pain and agony of having to bury Shauna on a hostile planet not that long ago. Whatever it was, Gohan felt himself shake with emotion, "And you know what the worst part about it all was Videl? It wasn't that you suddenly decided to ruin our decade plus long marriage. It wasn't that you left Pan questioning whether or not her mother still loved her and whether she was the one to blame for you walking out. Hell, it wasn't even the fact that I had to be a single parent, raising Pan on my own, the best I could. No, see what the worst part of it all, Videl....the worst part was the fact the love that I had for you...was obviously not good enough for you. For if it was, you wouldn't have left. Whatever you felt was wrong, you would have came to me about it. You would have known that no matter the issue. No matter what you believed, that I would also be there for you. That I would never abandon you or forsake you. Yet...yet that's exactly what you did to me! That's exactly what you did! Which only means that your love for me wasn't as strong as my love for you. And that...that is the worst part, Videl. That's what's wrong with me!"

He knew he was drilling her hard. He had been through so much recently that it was all finally breaking through, pouring out onto the surface. It hurt to speak to Videl like he just did, but if he kept it to himself, he would only hurt him more. Turning his head to look away from Videl, Gohan deeply sighed.

"You say you changed and that's great Videl, truly it is. And whatever you want to be with Pan, that's between you and Pan. You're still her mother and will always be. I'm not going to get in the way of that. But as for us..."

Slowly turning his glaze back at the woman, his lips slightly trembling.

"As for us...well if you are expecting some happily ever after...I'm afraid that may not come at all. For you say you changed...but so have I! I will never stop loving you Videl...but...this is your doing, not mine!"

She listened to his snide remarks once again he was saying stuff that really pissed her off and then he said it he could not trust her as she had tears begin to build up in her eyes, she was aware he was mostly right but he was being so cold to her. His love was never the issue he really did not understand there were so many reasons why she had left but it was not because of love or hating Pan still he had touched a nerve as her hands began to shake. The only way this was going to be settled was with their fists, she would use martial arts to do the talking, this was the one way she knew she could get her message through to Gohan.

"GOHAN STEP OUTSIDE WITH ME... I am done with your childish attitude woe is me no I am not dealing with this since you refuse to listen to my words I will explain it with my fists the only thing you seem to understand. I do not wish to ruin the house so please follow me outside, I will show you what my words are meaning to say since you are being to stupid to understand reason right now."

She would open the door and move away from the house waiting for Gohan and even if he did refuse she would force him to come out by aiming a energy blast toward the house, if he wanted to play the role of spoiled brat she would make him learn his lesson for sure. She had to make him understand she wanted the pair to get along as she wiped the tears from her eyes, hearing him call her a terrible parent did not feel so good. She understood his father was not that great of a parent toward Gohan but those words cut her deep in the heart, she would show him she had changed and he needed to give her a chance.

"Childish? I'm being childish? You have no idea Videl...no Videl at all what I had to go through since you left. You think because you heard about my happiness that I was truly happy? Sure I met someone and yeah we fell in love...and you are right to believe we were planning on getting married...but don't....Don't you dare assume it was all laughs and rainbows, Videl."

Gohan couldn't believe what was happening. He was still tired and exhausted from his training with Minosha earlier in the day but here was Videl demanding they take it outside. Gohan didn't want to fight the woman. For it was true that he still loved her and he always would. Yet Videl had no clue the kind of torment he had been put through recently. She wasn't there to see him fall in love again only to watch it rip itself from his heart. She wasn't the one that had to bury the one he loved dearly on a hostile planet. So whatever hardships she may have been through since their separation, Gohan was sure they were nothing compared to his own.

But if Videl wanted to turn their encounter into a fist fight, Gohan would oblige simply for the fact he just wanted it done and over with.

"Did you hear anything I even said Videl?" Gohan asked as he slowly walked out of the house, quickly putting his Gi back on completely, "I wasn't asking for your pity. And if you think I was, then you weren't listening at all. See Videl, you just don't get it. But if you think punching and kicking is going to bring understanding for the both of us, well then I'm willing to entertain the idea."

With every step Gohan took outside, he focused on every word he spoke. He wanted Videl to hear him loud and clear. Was he truly being childish as she said? Maybe. But who could blame him? Twice he had found love and twice he had been burned, scorched by fate in one way or another. Did that made him a bit more jaded than he previously was? Perhaps.

After about a dozen forward paces, Gohan spun on his heel and turned to face his Ex-wife, his eyes narrowing in a serious expression.

"You really don't get it, do you Videl? I still love you. And that's why it hurts so much right now."

There he went again blaming her for everything he was only further pissing her off, then he said it he said he still loved her but she was already so mad and did not believe him one bit, no he could not possibly be telling the truth as she looked into his eyes. She saw such sadness in them, he was in pain and what did he mean he did not have happiness did the pair break up or did something else happen, the look in his eyes suggested he was in pain his heart was broken. She would fight him still as she felt he would only understand her feelings if she chose to battle him she would turn her foot toward Gohan as she would show him her true strength as she began to focus the ki around her began to gather and the ground began to shake as her hair began to flash golden yellow before she would release the energy with a huge wave of ki blasting off her body sending a wave of dust out as well as making the ground have a hole where she stood. She would quickly rush toward Gohan throwing a fury of punches and kicks as she knew he would be shocked she had transformed. She was much stronger now but she still had another level inside of her if she wanted to step it up for now she would fight in this form, her foot aiming toward his head as she would flip down to smash her feet into the back of Gohan's head.

Gohan was prepared for just about anything, but when Videl started to power up he knew something was different about her. And when she transformed into what appeared to a state similar to super saiyan, Gohan found himself caught off guard, flooded with confusion. But he was unable to inquire about this as Videl came rushing at him with such fierceness. Vicious rights and lefts were sent his way as he did his best to avoid and parry as many as he could but it was clear Videl had improved as a fighter, giving Gohan a difficult time. Yet Gohan seemed to manage regardless.

Even when Videl shot a leg right at his head, Gohan was able to duck it. Though it left him open to the brutal double stomp to the back of his neck, causing him to stumble forward, nearly losing his balance. It didn't hurt that much, just a dull sting. But as he stood straight up, rubbing the aching spot, Gohan looked at Videl.

If what he was seeing truly was "the change" Videl was talking about, he wanted to see just how far it went.

"Come on Videl, I know you can do better than that!"
