The mountain loomed in front of Etana, the one she had desperately sought to reach. After a small rest, and a very much needed drink of water, Etana decided she would climb this mountain. She wasn’t sure why she was compelled to head up this particular mountain, but she didn’t see any reason not to make the climb either. Thus, the young Namekian began her ascent to the unknown, hoping that somehow she would find someone, or something, that would lead her to a better understanding of this planet, of herself, and of the universe. While Etana was recovered enough to take flight, her curiosity got the better of her, and she wanted to make the climb herself. She enjoyed looking at the strange creatures that inhabited this world, and flying would make it harder for her to stop and examine the tiny insects that crawled through the grass. As the Namekian made the climb, she soon realized that it was getting darker the longer she climbed. Looking up at the sky, it was then that she realized that this planet only seemed to have a solitary sun! Nightfall was coming, and it was something that Etana was not used to. She was beginning to grow frightened. Scrambling up the mountain, she attempted to seek refuge from the eerie sounds that were beginning to echo through the mountainside. An unfamiliar phenomenon, in an unfamiliar landscape, on an unfamiliar planet. That was what Etana now faced, and she screamed, her voice echoing throughout the region. Etana didn’t have any thought that anyone would hear her, for even with Namekian hearing, her voice was just an echo in a sea of unfamiliarity. However, the release of her emotions was helping, at least somewhat, and Etana slowly began to control her breathing. “Come on, Etana. You had a promising future before your exile,” she muttered to herself. “You survived alone on Namek, you can survive here too,” she continued, her own personal pep talk helping her to push on. The weight of the sword on her back was a welcome reminder that she wasn’t helpless out here, though she was honestly better off fighting with her own two hands than using the unfamiliar weapon. Either way, Etana felt a small comfort just knowing it was there, and she continued her climb, but something in the back of her mind was making her nervous. Almost as if she were being watched... I need to understand what these dreams mean! Sometimes I wish that old hag Baba would show up out of nowhere. Hardly matters anyway; they'll make sense eventually. Piccolo crawled out of his bed to get ready for another restless day of training. Lately the Namekian has been having nightmares, ones about death, exile, and betraying his race. Ever since Yardrat he's been having freaky visions of fire, desperation, and a cave. It followed him everywhere, almost haunting him! The Namekian hurried up and got dressed for the day. He had a feeling that he was gonna get some company. I swear if it's those little girls trying to sell me more cookies I'm not gonna hesitate to kill them this time. He stormed out the house, expecting to be greeted with little girls holding boxes trying to make him sell his souls to their primitive food. However he was greeted with a familiar energy signal. One that seemed natural, stronger than normal but not enough to be a threat. I better go check it out to make sure it's no one dangerous. Well, on second thought they could always be suppressing their power, I better make sure to be safe. Vegeta would have my head if I did something reckless like let a potential threat go. Piccolo floated off the ground and headed for the signal just over the mountain. I still can't imagine why anyone would want to be up in these mountains anyway. Only Goku would be that crazy! That signal though still seems familiar, I wonder if I'll recognize their face when I see them. THERE! I can't believe it! His jaw dropped when he saw who it was. He didn't know her personally, but there was no doubt that she was a Namekian. Just. Like. Him. This is insane! What is a Namekian doing all the way out here? Is she looking for Goku or Chi? Maybe me. I better just stay back and see what happens. There's still a possibility it's a trick. So the Namekian just floated there, watching her climb up the mountain, when he had a brilliant idea. He'd see how determined she was to climb said mountain. From the looks of it she was pretty worried, and Piccolo missed having a kid to mess with. Sorry lady, but I'm bored and you're the only one here. Piccolo fired a small ki blast at where her hand were, and would wait to she whether or not she would fall. If she did Piccolo was going to do to her what he did with Gohan. wc:425 |
