Gohan had woken up early that day. He was careful not to disturb his sleeping wife as he headed down to the kitchen to fix some breakfast. It was going to be an interesting day as after bumping into a familiar face he hadn't seen in ages a few day ago, Gohan was once again in sensei mode. It seemed Gohan's presence as a martial arts expert had gathered enough buzz in the world for both new and old faces alike to seek him out for guidance and mentorship. Gohan had never thought in his wildest dreams that he would be in such a position and truth be told, Gohan still didn't quite see him on par with the martial arts masters he grew up admiring. Men and women like Mister Piccolo, Chi-Chi, Gohan's mother and Goku, Gohan's father. Not to mention the likes of Tien and Yamcha. Even Vegeta seemed like someone people would seek out before Gohan. Yet Gohan was becoming quite the attraction from all sorts of fighters and warriors and it was all very flattering. He was humble by the gesture and did his very best to do his "students" justice as a teacher. Which was why he was really looking forward to that day in particular. He had trained quite a bunch of individuals already, varying of race and gender but Gohan had never thought that he would ever get the chance to train the likes of Android 16. It had been such a long time since Gohan had seen the Android. Back in the day of fighting the bio-android Cell, Android 16 had been the catalyst to Gohan's transformation as a kid with all the potential in the world to what many dubbed as being "The strongest fighter on Earth". It had been a pivotal moment in Gohan's life and without Android 16's part, Gohan would have most likely turned a lot different. Not to mention, who knew what would have happened to Earth then. Gohan devoured his breakfast in matter of seconds, wanting to get right into the thick of things, quickly putting the dishes in the sink before heading back up to his bedroom to fetch his training Gi. He had told Android 16 to meet him that morning near the river banks, where Gohan planned to start the training from. Gohan didn't know when Android 16 would show up but even if the android wasn't there, it would be a good opportunity to get in some solo training in before he aided Android 16. So in a flash, Gohan put on his training Gi, tighten his slash around his waist perfectly. And after planting a sweet tender kiss on the forehead of his sleeping wife, Gohan took off, leaving his home to fly off to the spot he had told the friendly Android to meet him at. Gohan couldn't help but smirk at the thought of it all. Android 16 was once programmed with one simple mission. To kill Goku, Gohan's father. But not once did Android 16 lay a single finger on Goku. And in the end, Android 16 saw his programming as a complete utter mistake. One that he refused to the very end. It was funny how things turned out in life. Gohan landed by the river bank in no time at all. There was no sign of Android 16's presence. Though to be fair being an android, Android 16 did not give off an energy signature. Which ultimately meant that Gohan could not sniff him out via Ki. So Gohan scanned the area with his eyes, looking to see if Android 16 had arrived and simply got lost or something. However after a few moments, Gohan could clearly see that the android had not done such a thing. So figuring he had some time to waste before the arrival of his newest student, Gohan simply sat down, legs crossed Indian-style. Closing his eyes, Gohan slowed his breath and started to mediate, just like how Mister Piccolo showed him. Gohan saw no need in doing any physical training till Android 16 arrived. So mediation was a good alternative. It not only help clear his mind and keep it sharp, but it allowed him to come up with the training routine he would implement that day. Each of his students were unique, not just as fighters but as individuals. And thus, Gohan had to treat each of them in a separate manner from each other, meaning that when it came to training them, Gohan had to come up a completely unique session for each and every one of them. Android 16 would be no different. The key was knowing his student's strengths and weaknesses and playing off them. For androids like 16, the fact they didn't give off a Ki signature was a strength that Gohan saw as quite important. Something he would have to have in the back of his mind the entire day. No Ki also meant that they didn't get tired in the same way as a human or a saiyan would. Which meant androids typically had a long-lasting endurance and a high amount of stamina. All strengths that Gohan had to put in consideration. However for the likes of Android 16, who was quite the pacifist, Gohan would have to come up with a way that would bring out the best out of the man as a fighter. Luckily Gohan had experienced with dealing with pacifism. For there was a time in Gohan's own life that he didn't have any desire to fight let alone step onto a battlefield. But over time Gohan saw the importance of it all. And ironically it was partially thanks to Android 16. "Glad to see you made it, 16!" Gohan exclaimed in a calm but bold manner as he opened his eyes. Though 16 did not have a Ki signature, Gohan's senses picked up the android's approach, a smirk appeaing on Gohan's face, "I hope finding the place wasn't too hard to find." WC: 1,000 |

“Good morning birds, how are you doing today?” Android 16 asked, trying to sound gentle as he walked towards the flying animals in the middle of the grassy clearing as slowly as he possibly could. It didn’t seem to help him out however, as they instantly flew away in fear once they spotted the large machine coming after them with open arms and a brown bag that contains who-knows-what. The robot knew better than to get his hopes up, as he was used to being the one to drive away the smaller animals. They couldn’t help their fear, so he did not really blame them. He just wished that there was some way that they could understand that ultimately, he wasn’t there to hurt anyone. Instead of standing around in the middle of the forest moping about the animals fearing him, 16 decided that it was best to fly off and head towards the location that he planned to be that day. A few days ago the machine met up with an old friend of his, Gohan. It was always nice to meet familiar faces, or at least that is what 16 thought. Anyway, he figured that since Gohan has become really strong over the past few years, maybe the half saiyan could train him to be strong enough to truly defend the earth like he was doing as his Great Saiyaman counterpart. Android 16 went back to the days when he was finally released unto the world in his head. He thought about how the only real goal he had was destroying Goku, and that there would be nothing else to go for after that. As the time passed however, he met many friendly people that guided him onto the right path, and eventually the robot found himself defending the planet against a Bio-Android bent on destroying it and everyone that inhabited it. Once 16 realized that Gohan was the only hope, he gave him a speech about doing whatever it meant to save the earth, including killing the enemy. The boy was sort of a pacifist at the time like Android 16 was, but after hearing that speech and seeing 16 destroyed by Cell, he broke past his limits and achieved Super Saiyan 2, destroying Cell shortly after. Now it was Gohan’s turn to push 16. The machine didn’t mind fighting lately, getting into mutually-agreed-upon-spars and using force only if he really had to, but he wasn’t used to making split decisions to harm someone if they needed to be harmed at that moment. He would try to solve the problem with words. Sometimes it was because of him not doing anything physical that lives were stolen. The android couldn’t handle that anymore, so he asked his friend to help him and train him. Android 16 started to slow down his flight speed once he made it to Mount Paozu. He was meeting Gohan near a river bank. The field surrounding it on both sides were quite grassy, and bushes grew everywhere. Once the android spotted his friend-turned-mentor, he landed near him. Gohan was excited to see 16, greeting him with kind words, then saying how he hoped the place wasn’t too hard to find. “Not at all Gohan. I tracked you down by sensing your ki. Now that I am here, shall we go get the training started?” Android 16 asked Gohan while giving him a smile. He never was so great at holding a conversation with someone, always trying to jump right into the task at hand. It was something that he definitely had to work on in the future. WC: 603 TWC: 603 |

Gohan nodded at Android 16 with eager approval as he got to his feet. Gohan had to admit that it was going to be an unique experience training 16. For one fact, Gohan knew Android 16 was so much of a pacifist that he even fought and ignored his original program, which was to kill Gohan's father, Goku. Something that Gohan had not seen coming, nor Gohan believed anyone for that matter. Yet it was Android 16's sacrifice many years ago that had lead Gohan to fighting Cell and ultimately defeating the bio-android terror. So when Android 16 had shown up in front of Gohan's front door, seeking out the saiyan hybrid's aid, the son of Goku rose to the challenge and happily accepted, despite wondering how much he could truly teach a pacifist at heart. But Gohan supposed even those who simply sought out peace had to take up arms sooner or later to make that happen. Gohan was living proof of that. "Alright then, let's proceed!" Gohan said with a little grin as he prepared for another day of lessons. Gohan was still getting used to teaching and mentoring other martial artists, both familiar and new, and he found out that each individual needed his or her own specific training regiment to maximize one's potential. Some needed to be pushed to their limits till they broke on through the glass ceiling that was stopping them all that time before. While others simply needed encouragement and a little nudge. Meanwhile others still simply rely on the fact they could spar with a living body, already well-verse in martial arts. Gohan was already trying to figure out the best kind of training method to use for Android 16. It was going to be a bit difficult as Android 16 was not human or saiyan or even alien as Gohan had been used to training. An android, though human-like, did not have the exact same human qualities. For instance Androids did not give off a natural energy signature, nor did they summon up energy like most fighters on Earth. Which meant that they could keep attacking and attacking at a relentless pace. That was something Gohan witnessed and experienced firsthand with Cell and the other Androids like Android 13 and 17. "So is there anything in particular you wish to focus on primarily or is it all up for grabs?" Gohan asked as he continued to assess his student, "I mean fighting is more than just knowing how to punch and kick, but I don't have to tell you that. There is actually a lot involved. Technique for instance. Knowing how to properly apply a move and when. Instincts are another factor but that is something I can't really teach you, though I can help you sharpen them. In fact, often times being a martial artist comes down to the simple fact of will and heart. For if you possess a strong will and a noble heart, everything else will follow." WC: 500 TWC: 1,500 CHOOSE YOUR PATH: Pick which area of martial arts you wish to train first by stating it in your next reply in some shape or form. 1) Technique: Executing maneuvers properly and knowing when to apply them. 2) Strength: Focusing on maximizing one's power to exert the most force out of a maneuver 3) Instincts: Learning how to anticipate any scenario before it happens and reacting to it.
