It was early in the morning when Goten got out of bed. The sun was already shining, birds chirping in the distance out of his window. Goten walked to the fridge and grabbed the milk. He began chugging it straight from the bottle and he always knew Chi-Chi hated it. After getting ready and throwin on his training gear, Goten walked out with a huge grin upon his face. "Today is the big day." He thought to himself as he stretched his arms. He then began stretching his legs and back. Goten had finally been accepted to train with his older brother, Gohan. This time he would want to prove to him he has become stronger since a small child. Goten then began flying towards the Ox Kingdom. This is where he would find his brother and begin his training. His hair and clothes all waved as the wind blew past him from the speed. Below him were houses of all sizes and shapes. Lakes the size of those houses if not bigger. Finally, he saw the village not far ahead. Goten seemed to become nervous because he hasn't seen his brother in a long time. His feet hit the ground as he landed about one hundred feet from a small opening, perfect for training. Goten then sat down in hereenand began to meditate til Gohan arrived. "Alright Videl, I'll be back in a few hours!" Gohan shouted to his wife, who was probably somewhere off in the castle but close enough to hear his voice. Gohan had just returned from King Kai's planet a few days after Videl did and immediately he had been given no rest, working side by side with his wife to get the Ox Kingdom up and running. Gohan knew that keeping a kingdom prosperous was going to be a tough task but he had not truly appreciate the integrity one needed to make it so till recently. Shenron the eternal dragon had done the easy part in Gohan's mind. It was going to be a lot of hard work and endless dedication to bring the Ox Kingdom to its former glory, let alone for it to surpass its previous height. But Gohan was more than willing to do it. For it was something Gohan felt his family deserved. After all the Ox Kingdom was rightfully his inheritance, though Gohan didn't wish for the kingdom to be risen from its grave out of personal gain. Gohan simply done it because he felt it was the right thing to do. For his grandfather, the Ox King and his mother, the Ox Princess. But there was still yet another family member that needed to get involved in the proceedings. A family member who Gohan had not really got to spend much time with lately. Gohan's little brother, Goten. In fact, in the midst of all that Gohan had been doing over the past year or so, give or take a few days, Gohan really hadn't had much to do with his siblings. A neglect Gohan had not intended but something Gohan was going to do everything in his power to make it right. That's why when Goten had approached Gohan the other day and asked if it would be alright if the two of them could train together and even have Gohan teach Goten a few things, Gohan did not hesitate to jump at the chance. And so Gohan took off from the Ox Castle and headed towards the village in which was governed and protected by the Ox Kingdom, the spot where Gohan had told Goten to meet him that morning. Gohan had to admit, it had been such a long time since the two Son boys get any kind of training together and Gohan suspected it would be both fun and intriguing. After all as a kid, Goten was quite the energetic fighter. Gohan wondered how well that translated now that Goten was practically an adult in his own right. "Hey Goten! Long time, no see! How are you doing?" Gohan waved at his little brother as he landed a few feet from him. Gohan noticed Goten was in a meditative stance, which was a bit of a shock, "Have you been hanging with Mister Piccolo or is this just something you just added to your training routine?" Gohan joked, laughing slightly as he smiled at his little brother before nodding in approval, "I would have been here sooner but I had no idea running a kingdom, even a kingdom that still was getting back on its feet was going to be such a chore. This morning was hectic. But it's nothing Videl and I can't handle. But regardless, as promise here I am, brother. So first things first, is there anything specific you want me to help you with or do you prefer we just do a broad stroke on our training today? I'm willing to do whatever you feel is best." Goten sat there waiting for his brother, Gohan to arrive. There was so must Goten wanted to tell his brother, but the time wasn't right. He sensed Gohan from afar, but didn't move a muscle. Goten wanted to help Gohan protect the Ox Kingdom. That was one reason Goten reached out to his older brother. The other reason was obviously to become stronger. As Gohan neared, Goten rose to his feet with a smile on his face. Gohan then landed next to him and began speaking. Goten listened to every word his brother said. "I met someone who helped me understand things a bit more." His smile grew wider as He looked over at Gohan. Goten quickly walked to him and gave him a hug. "Now that we got that out of the way, we can get to work. I came here for two things, Gohan. First thing is that I know keeping up with the village is hard. If you need anything let me know. Second thing is that I want to be strong just like you and dad." Goten was now waiting for Gohan to respond to him. WC: 188 |

Gohan could not help but feel a bit proud of Goten at that moment. His little brother sure did grow up quickly. For once a prankster little fellow, Goten stood there ever the young man with fierce loyalty and dedication to his family and friends. "Well Goten, that is very admirable of you, especially considering that this kingdom is ever bit yours as it is mine," Gohan patted his brother on the back in a gentle manner before giving Goten a thumbs up, "Haha! I mean I know since birth we've been hanging on our father's legacy, following in his footsteps, but our mother has a lot to teach and give us as well. After all, the Ox Kingdom is hers and thus is it ours. And now that Videl and I made it possible for our mother's kingdom to rise from the grave, it's going to take all of us to make our mother's world just as prominent as our father's. So I could definitively use all the help you can give, Goten." Flashing another smile at his little brother, Gohan looked off to the distance for a moment before turning back to look at his younger sibling, "Besides, you are now a prince in your own right. So this kingdom needs you just as much as it needs me. And I'm sure mother will be happy to see her two sons working together, especially if it forces us to brush up on our history books and such, haha!" Gohan nodded again as his smile grew in size, "As for becoming stronger, you came to the right place, brother. Dad may not be around but I have no problem in teaching you a thing or two. Who knows, you may know something I don't. So shall we begin?" Removing his hand from Goten's shoulder, Gohan took a step back to allow some space between the two of them. Though they were still technically in the Ox Village, they were standing in a nice isolated spot where their training would not disturb or interrupt the normal daily routine of the villagers. It would also allow Gohan to keep an eye on things happening in the Ox Kingdom, as he was just an earshot away from being called to action. Simply perfect. "Though I must warn you, Videl expects me back for dinner in one piece. So go easy on me, okay? Haha." WC: 400 TWC: 1,000 Edited by Brick, Jun 1 2016, 02:57 PM.

Goten listened and nodded to what his brother was saying. Goten was ready to take some responsibility in his life. He was willing to put his life in danger to help those who needed it. Goten smiled when he heard Gohan say he was a Prince. "A Prince?" He said as he looked towards Gohan. "That means I'll have to train just as hard as you!" Goten nudged Gohan shoulder as he let out a small laugh. Goten began thinking about his mom and all the things she had to put up with. She would be more than proud to see her boys get along. "I want you to know, I'm not doing this for my benefit. I'm doing this for mom and dad, for all te sacrifices they made to help us grow as we are today." Goten then backed away from Gohan in a defensive stance. "Don't worry, I won't go too hard on you!" Goten smiled, waiting for Gohan to make the first move. WC: 165 |

Gohan saw Goten getting in a defensive stance, indicating that his little brother believed that the two of them were about to engage in a friendly but highly competitive spar. Something the two of them had not done in ages. Gohan was almost going to say something about it but decided against it as he did promise that he would help train Goten that day any way he wanted. So if Goten wanted to start things off with a test of strength and technique than Gohan had no problem in doing so. "Well then Goten, I'm sure our parents will be awfully proud. Of the both of us," Gohan replied, "Oh is that so, huh? I don't know. I kind of would like to see just how much you have improved over the years. So don't be afraid to go all out. I'm pretty sure I can handle whatever you may throw at me. If not, well then maybe your should be the teacher, haha!" With a look of approval before he slowly got into a fighting stance of his own as he gave Goten a smug little smirk before extending his hand out and motioning for his younger brother to bring it. His smile grew larger as Gohan would speak. This was the moment Goten was waiting for. "I'll do my best!" Goten clenched his hands then got into an offensive stance. "I wish mom and dad were here for this." Goten stood, listening to Gohan talk about mom and our training. Goten nodded, then suddenly Gohan threw his hand up, expecting Goten to initiate the spar. Goten nodded then quickly dashed towards Gohan. Right before he would attack, Goten would disappear and reappear behind him. Goten laughed and tapped Gohan on the shoulder. "Right here." He said quickly as he attempted to punch him on the side of his face. Whether Gohan blocked his first attack or not Goten threw multiple fist towards Gohans direction, testing his close combat skills. WC: 128 |

Gohan had to agree with his little brother. It would be nice to have their parents around to watch the two of them get along, but Gohan understood that their parents, though not there physically, were there in spirit and thus Gohan was going to put his best foot forward in aiding Goten in his training as both their parents would want and expect. A task that Gohan was sure going to find out was a bit more difficult than he believed. For Gohan strongly believed that the little trickster that was his younger brother had grown up and matured yet was quickly shown that the belief was not quite solid. For like their father, Goten was still ever the ham, even in something as serious as martial arts. Luckily for Gohan, he had taken more of his mother's personality and thus be able to take things serious when it mattered the most. And from that, Gohan had gained an edge over his brother in that regard, allowing him to sense his brother's flying fist coming and in a split second reacted by sidestepping it. ![]() Though Goten was right on top of Gohan, throwing a series of rights and lefts, causing Gohan to stand on the defensive. Fortunately for the elder son of Goku and Chi-Chi, Gohan was used to playing that game, having trained the likes of his wife of all people, who had relied on an aggressive and physical offense to get the job done. And thus Goten did not prove much of a problem as Gohan did his best to evade, waiting for the right moment to strike. And when it came, Gohan pounced right on top of it with a stiff straight shot to Goten's gut. His little brother had left himself wide open for it. ![]() WC: 300 TWC: 1,500 |

Goten noticed his mistake, but dodging Gohans attack was impossible for the younger sibling. His eyes open wide and spit flew from his mouth. "GAHH!" Was the only sound to slip from his mouth as he flew a few feet back from the punch. Goten held his stomach and looked at his brother a bit shocked. "I see you dropped the books." He said with a grin upon his face. Goten got back into his fighting stance. "That will not happen again." He said as he lifted his hand, Palm facing Gohan. One blue orb began to grow from his Palm and with a flash, Goten shot two Ki blast towards his brother. Whether Gohan were to block the blast or not, Goten flew at Gohan with amazing speed. He then came at him with a flurry of punches and kicks. Goten knew his brother was superior in almost every aspect, but that wouldn't stop Goten from trying his best. WC: 159 |

"No, I still read when I can," Gohan corrected his younger brother, the slight smug expression on his face shining a bit brighter for the moment, "I just smartened up a bit more on the battlefield as well." Gohan honestly did not want to hurt his brother seriously, though at the same time he wanted to give Goten a real challenge and thus knew he had to keep Goten on his toes. It was clear to both brothers who was the superior of the two, but that didn't mean Gohan couldn't or even wouldn't respect Goten's fighting skill and ability. For Gohan knew all too well just how good Goten could be. So when Goten came right back at Gohan with such tenacity and vigor, Gohan was pleased to see that his brother's fighting spirit had not died over the years. Gohan had to admit his brother was quick on the uptake, deciding to catch Gohan by surprise with a decoy of a couple of energy blasts. Blasts that Gohan blocked by crossing his arms in a big X in front of him, allowing the blasts to simply blow up without much harm to his overall being. However, Gohan was not out of the woods yet as Goten once again came at him with rights and lefts, mixing in some stiff kicks to boot. Gohan was staggered a bit as he was hit with a few glancing blows but even so the impact was enough to cause a wave a dull aching pain wash over his entire body for a few moments. Gohan fought through it though and in no time was back on the offense. Gohan jumped in the air and came right down at his brother with a series of kicks aimed to the young man's chest, driving hard.
