So this is the famed Gatz Haven. It's certainly lived up to the rumors surrounding it. Nyx was sitting at a cafe in the shopping center, sipping a cup of coffee as she analyzed her trip to the city so far. Nyx had come here to find out more about the people running it. Nyx had learned a little bit of Bel from her friend and teacher Byakushiki, which was part of what had drawn her to this city in the first place. If Byakushiki was as strong as she was right now, then perhaps training under the same regiment that she did would yield similar results. She could use all the advantages that she could given the current circumstances she found herself in. Nyx set her cup down on the table and turned her head to survey her surroundings again. This city was unique in more ways then one. While its structures resembled the standard architecture for modern cities, it was a complete contrast to the cities under the protection of the Kings Guard. Their cities were the typical designs suited for suburban life. Gatz's Haven was the complete opposite. It's grandure was undinable with its towering skyscrapers, and modern architecture. Not to mention the military base located within the city itself. This city just radiated power, a power that even those who couldn't sense energy would be able to feel. The founder named this city after himself, so of course he would take great pride in its design and make it as grand as possible. Even without meeting him I can tell that he's a rather egotistic individual. That's just as well though: there's nothing wrong with showing off your strength and pride if you can back it up. One can't say Gatz hasn't done that in spades. Nyx had heard many things about Gatz, despite the fact that she only arrived on this planet recently. He was a powerful, ruthless individual who was feared and respected by most people. Nyx certainly respected him: he had built this city up from practically nothing, and became one of the major powers on this world. It took more then sheer strength to pull something of that caliber. The things I've done since coming to this planet are microscopic in comparison. Well, given enough time I'll make my own mark on Earth. I've gotten quite adapt at proving my capabilities to others. Nyx had quite a large amount of goals and objectives to accomplish, and she couldn't afford to waste any time. That didn't mean she would throw caution to to the wind and take unnecessary risks: when would balance speed, efficiency, and patience. So when Nyx went to view the compound where Bel was located, she observed it from a safe distance without attracting attention to herself. Even though she had personal connections through Byakushiki, she couldn't just walk in there and claim she was a friend of someone she knew. Even if Byaku or Kuro validated her statement, they didn't have any personal connection to Gatz himself. And his word was the law in this city. From what I've heard about him, there's a chance that I could invoke his anger whether I mean to or not. And if I'm in his military base, then my tactical options would be limited. It's best to move things to more neutral ground. I'm going to have to deviate from my normal plans and take a chance with this next move. But I must make sure my treak in there is as safe as possible before going in. Nyx released a great deal of her power, sitting up straight and looking through a newspaper. The majority of the people in this city wouldn't be able to sense her. Although all the significant Final Heaven members who could sense energy wouldn't miss it. Nyx was calling one or more of them to a more public location. It was still on their turf, but it wasn't in the middle of the military base. It was far less likely they would take hostile action against her in a crowded area, as long as she didn't attack them. This also gave Nyx more options if a fight did ensue. It would be easier to tell the intentions of whoever showed up. If one of the higher ups came with an army or a squad, then it would be a safe assumption to assume that they weren't there to talk. If they left soldiers nearby but came in alone, then they would be a bit more open to conversation, but Nyx would have to tread lightly. If she met up with them in their base, it would have been considerably harder to read their tactics and intentions. Lastly, Nyx could escape the city easier from this location. She would have to fight through and evade everyone in their base if things turned hostile there. Not only would it be easier to lose pursuers in this location, but they weren't going to send out all their forces just to deal with here. She would only have to evade one pursing commander as opposed to the majority of them. Nyx was very prepared for a meeting with Final Heaven: the only unknown factor was who would show up here. Anastacia Stood in the middle of the training room at final heaven base. The young Sargent of final heaven collected herself inside of this room. In her workout Gear she Cleared er throat before speaking. "Computer, activate Training Program. Turn off at my voice command." with a beep indicating that the computer understood the training program activated. Ana was suddenly surrounded by floating squares, these squares moved around at her at an alarmingly fast rate, the goal of this training program was for ana to hit all of the squares in however long it took her to get it done, however the high score for the training program was 32.96 seconds so that was the time she intended to beat. Starting off fast and strong she quickly started attacking the squares, hitting one the second it brushed by one of her hands. The key here was to wait for the squares to get in striking distance and hit them then. not to waste time looking and chasing after each square but to only hit one when it came near. this worked out pretty well for ana as she was able to hit one every couple of seconds as they drew near. It wouldn't take long for her to finish this short workout as she had it completed after she hit the required 20 squares. she awaited to hear for the computers time. "Test completed, You have finished at 25.23 seconds, new high score set." Taking a breath of relief she stretched really quick getting ready to go again until suddenly, it her, A wave of power and energy just came through and hit her with a bang [figuratively of course.] She knew at the moment she felt the power that she had to get right on this. whatever it was it definitely wasn't from final heaven itself. meaning that someone was walking in final heaven with a decent power that she had never felt before. It could be hostile, so she had to check it out to make sure it wasn't. Dressing out of her workout clothes and into her everyday clothes she quickly ran out to find where this source of energy was coming from. Ana followed the source of power all the way into the shopping center. Once she got to the shopping center it was much more clear then before where it was coming from. Getting to the coffee shop. She saw one person in particular who stuck out the most. It was a woman with white and black hair. Getting to the coffee shop She walked inside and once she did she got to the counter, which was away from where the woman was sitting. the cafe owner saw ana and began to greet her. "Aaa madam ana how can i be of assistance to you?" Ana sighed. "Well first off you can start by not pointing me out so easily." she said in a whispered tone. "there's someone in here who could be dangerous. Be ready to evacuate the place if needed but for now. stay calm." he nodded and quickly just got ana a glass of wine and walked a way as to not point her out. Ana kept watch on nyx but only looked back at her every so now and then so she wouldn't be pointed out so easily. wc: 555 Edited by Android 21, Aug 12 2016, 12:17 PM.

After a few minutes Nyx powered down and waited for someone to show up. She was sure she had set up herself up as a beacon for long enough. Now all Nyx had to do was just sit there and be patient. It was something that Nyx was adapt at after many years and after a few mistakes made when she was too quick to act: sometimes sitting back and waiting calmly was the best course of action to take. Nyx found that remaining calm in general was better then acting based solely on her emotions. Granted she had been tested a few times since coming to this planet, but she wasn't going to lose control again anytime soon. It didn't take long before she sensed what she hoped would happen: one of the powers she had been seeking out had come out investigating her energy signature. She couldn't pinpoint the exact location of them just yet, but they were somewhere inside the cafe. There was no mistaking this signature. This was one of the energy sources that had made her change course in space and head to Earth. Nyx had planned on establishing a base on her now abandoned homeworld, which was only a week away from the Solar System if you had a fairly fast ship to travel in. Several strange powers coming from Earth had made her change plans and brought her here. It wasn't just the fact that they were strong that led her to this third-world civilization: there was an unusual property to them that felt very off. Nyx had never sensed it before, but she was educated enough to know the significance of the strange auras. It's one of the ones that doesn't belong. One of the individuals who has caused the distortions in the continuum. So they're also one of the higher ranking members in Final Heaven as well? Things are coming together in a rather convenient way for once. Now then, who is it? Nyx surveyed the coffee shop, looking at each person carefully as she tried getting a fix on the energy she was sensing. It was obvious that they were suppressing their energy, as she could barely feel it. Still, there were very few organic beings who could completely hide their Ki while this close to someone with very proficient sensing abilities, and fortunately this individual was not one of them. Nyx noticed movement out of the corner of her eye, and turned her head and looked at Ana. She stared at her silently for a few seconds before continuing to survey the cafe. Once she was done, she took another sip of her drink and nonchalantly opened up the newspaper and began to read it again. "I can sense that you've accepted by invitation and are already here. You could stay hidden and try to gauge me from a distance if you wish, but I'd much prefer we not drag out out things longer then we would have to. You're one of the reasons I've traveled a very long distance just to come to this very spot." Nyx turned the page of the newspaper, reclining back in her chair and relaxing. "I have much that I wish to discuss with you. I don't intend on any hostile action against anyone in the city, and will only fight if I have to defend myself. Why don't you come over here so we can introduce ourselves properly. I'll even buy you a drink and something to eat. A small bit of hospitality is the least I could do for inconviencing you by making you come out this far just to have a conversation with you." [WC=611] [TWC=1,491] |

Ana sat there for a couple of minutes, she wouldn't look at the woman but just simply sat there and took a drink from her wine. for a few moment she felt a hard pair of eyes looking at her. She wouldn't give Nyx any reason to think she was anything special. It seemed though however after a while that the woman understood that there was someone in the Cafe. as just a little bit later she called out. apparently she let out this amount of power as a beacon for Ana to come here. saying that she'd much prefer for the final haven Sargent to come out and speak to her. even saying that Ana was one of the reasons she was here. She took a bit to process this. what did she mean by that? what was it about Ana that brought her here? did she know about ana's time traveling from the future? and if so what did she want to talk to her for? this was all very strange and frankly just gave Ana a headache. The woman said that she wasn't hostile to the city and only wanted to talk to her. Ana waited a bit before responding to this. Slowly getting up everyone in the bar looked at her now. they started whispering to each other in silence wondering what the heck was going on. Ana would walk over towards Nyx's table, eying the Woman and sitting down on the other end. She Looked at nyx for a bit, waiting for the cafe to calm down and go back to what they were doing. "Alright then. you wanted me to talk, now i here. First of all, what the heck are you doing in this city. Why would you raise your power so high as to bring one of the higher-ups of final haven here. Your lucky as hell that it wasn't my grandfather Gatz who came here. He wouldn't have been as....Kind as I've been." Ana knew very well that if the general had come out here he would have ripped Nyx in two faster then she could blink. If anyone seemed like a threat to the city and his family he wouldn't take a second to take action. the man was very protective over anything that was his. Ana was very curious to see on why Nyx was focused on her specifically, taking a look at how Nyx looked it definitely wouldn't be bad to think she was a human, but over the years and how many types of humanoid creatures ended up in final haven it wasn't a far stretch either to think she was an alien. Not many human possessed as much power as Nyx had shown. sure there was a few who were around the range but most other humans weren't even average fighters, But Nyx though, something about her didn't make Ana feel right. she had to stay on her toes while near her obviously, Until she revealed more she was a threat. wc: 505 twc: 1,060 Edited by Android 21, Aug 16 2016, 10:46 PM.

Nyx did have to wait for a few minutes even after giving out her declaration. Whoever had come was obviously scoping her and the situation out before making their presence known. Which was the smart thing to do in Nyx's opinion. You could never be too careful when dealing with the unknown: this individual would only proceed once they felt that Nyx wasn't an immediate threat. At least for the moment anyway. The sounds of people whispering made Nyx look up to see that someone was approaching her. This was most certainly one of the ones she was seeking out. She also was regarding her wearily, even as she took her place on the other side of the table. While appearance wise she looked like most human girls around the same age, she was clearly much more stronger then she was letting on. Not to mention that there were some strange elements to her aura. Nyx would try and piece things together as she talked with her, but her primary concern was the conversation with the woman in front of her. She stared at Ana calmly for a few seconds before speaking up. "So you're related to the leader of the city? Well of course you are. You wouldn't have traveled backwards through time if you didn't have a strong connection to the leaders of the city. Letting my presence known the way I did was indeed a very risky maneuver. It was considerably less risky then approaching the armed compound on my own though. I'm quite sure Gatz could tear my apart easily if he wanted to, although I doubt he'd kill me in front of this many people if I didn't post an immediate threat. Hurt me perhaps, but I would likely survive as long as I didn't attack him. He put quite a bit of work into his city: he wouldn't want to risk damaging it if he could help it. Not to mention murdering someone in public would dissuade people from coming to Gatz Haven. If worst came to worst, then I had a number of escape methods that I could employ to ensure my survival. I doubt he would waste resources to pursue someone who his granddaughter could destroy easily. I'm rather insignificant compared to the major powers of this world I've thought things over very carefully before I released my power." Nyx took a sip of her coffee, her thoughts turning back to the plan she had employed to bring the woman here. Running into Gatz would have been the worst case scenario, and there was a high probability that she wouldn't be able to negotiate with him officially. She had banked on the fact that he wouldn't deal with someone of her power level personally: he was the head of the city and his own army. He would likely send someone working under him to investigate on his behalf. Even if Gatz had come and her evasion techniques failed her, it wouldn't have been completely meaningless. There was a part of Nyx that wanted to die. She wanted to meet with her ultimate fate within the next decade or so. If he had killed her or forced her to self-terminate to avoid capture, then her only regret would have been that she did not complete her missions. She had many affairs to settle before she would embrace death. And it would take some time to complete them in. She lowered her coffee cup to the table, sitting back in her chair and crossing her legs as she continued her conversation with Gatz's granddaughter. Nyx conversing with Ana "My name is Nyx of the Sigerian race, and a former member of the Dominus Alliance.I came to this city because I believe it can help me grow stronger, and thus help me achieve my goals all the easier. My current instructor was once a student of your grandmothers. I presume she would be your grandmother since she's the husband of Gatz. Seeing how strong Byakushiki had become, It made me wonder if my abilities would improve just as drastically if I trained here as well. I don't really care for the politics of this world, unless if it gives me a reason to care. There was a time where I didn't require personal battle strength to reach my ideals. That time has long passed though, and I have the need for personal growth." Nyx took another sip of her coffee, gaging Ana's reactions. Even now she was thinking about what options she could take if things turned for the worst. Escape was still her best option by far should things turn sour. Nyx was fairly confident it wouldn't have to come to that though: as long as she was careful, the situation would remain relatively calm. "As for why I came to this planet, I sensed very unusual powers here. Powers that I know from experience only come from those who have traveled through time. An individual who moves to another time period has a notice unusual aura about them. Temporal abnormalities always leave traces. The risks of this type of travel are many. The two main threats are the ripples that spread throughout the universe, and the existence of multiple timelines that are created as a result. The effects of time travel are less localized then you humans think they are, but going into the specifics would take days to explain that properly. As for the other main concern, multiverse theory dictates that another universe is created whenever you travel through time. If you had one enemy in one timeline, then you have the potential to multiply that enemy by the number of times individuals have gone back in time. Earth's future must be have most desperate, hopeless fate for so many people to come back and change it. Sometimes one has no choice but to risk the dangers time travel poses for the sake of their people. " Nyx did keep her voice a little softer once she got to the part about time travel. She knew that many people in the area had taken an interest in their conversation, and were looking in their direction. If some of them overheard it then it couldn't be helped: they were discussing things in a public venue after all. Although that didn't mean she couldn't be discrete about the unusual topic matter. The less people got dragged into it, the better. "I'll get to the heart of the matter now. A long time ago one of my closest colleagues was one of the most brilliant scientists in the history of the Sigerian race. I owed my life to her on more then one occasion. Then one day I discovered a horrible truth: she had come back to the future to save our race, but I had to pay the price because of it." Nyx sighed, her hand gripping the arm of her chair tighter as she recalled the unpleasant memories. "She came back from the future, killing and replacing her past self. Or to be more accurate, she killed her past self from the new timeline. Time travel can be very hard to keep up with. She did this so that she could save my people from destruction. The leader of the Sigerians was the third Siria to ever have existed. Siria's are ones who are blessed with incredible powers, and their coming ushers in a new golden age for our race each other. Siria's have always show up in intervals of 500-600 human years. That is until this generation. Originally I was going to be born a Siria as well. It would have been the first time in the history of our race that two would have coexisted in the same time period. Which would have led to our race's ruin." Nyx leaned forward in her chair slightly, her eyes locking onto Ana's as she continued her tale. "Gatz Haven is under the absolute dominion of Gatz. Nobody questions his word of law. But what if you have two individuals who had an equal claim to the city, had the same strength, but had different ideals and viewpoints? In the case of the timeline my friend had come back from, the result was a long and bloody civil war. My side was triumphant, although it didn't matter. Our enemies took advantage of our weakened state and defeated us. Most of my people were all by wiped out. So the scientist traveled back through time and modified my body before I was even born. My power was taken from me before I even had it. And she stayed in that timeline to make certain that her efforts succeeded. Once I found out the truth, I made a vow. And even after being banished, I intend on keeping that vow." Nyx uncrossed her legs, straightening her upper body and leaning forward slightly so she could address Ana even more quietly then before. The Solemn Vow "I vowed that no matter what it took, I would make the universe as safe I possibly can. I pray that one day entire races won't have to worry about being entirely wiped out. I came here to get stronger: I determined that there was no better place to do it. We're both very similar, you and I. We both take great risks for what we believe in. I risked my life by releasing my energy in a manner that could resulted in my destruction, and you traveled back in time despite knowing that you were creating another timeline and increasing the risks and dangerous you would have to confront. There are two main reasons why people travel through time. They either aim to save their future or for their own benefit. My teacher is friends with your grandmother. So I have faith that you came to this timeline to save it, and I wish to help in any way that I can." Nyx stared at Ana quietly, a calm expression on her face. Nyx had told Ana why she was here and had expressed her case. Hopefully she would be believed and things would transition smoothly. Her original assessment was right: it was clear that she wouldn't stand a chance in a one on one fight with this person. Hopefully things wouldn't come down to that. Anastacia sat back in irritation as nyx began to speak, why was it that she was always the one who had to deal with the weird people huh? first some alien who tried to trash the city then this chick! Gosh she really needed an off day. but who knows maybe this one wouldn't be as weird as the last. Rolling her eyes at her own thoughts she got focused and listened on to what nyx had to say. Nyx Confirmed that she was in fact an alien, a member of a race called the sigerian race. Of course ana hadn't ever heard of the race before so the name didn't really mean much to her. She talked about how she heard of the immense training that came from final heaven, Nyx was in fact currently being trained by byakushiki, a woman who was once a student of ana's grandmother Bel. "Oh Byakushiki, I definitely remember her. She did train under My Grandma for an extended amount of time, and it seemed that the trained had worked out as well as expected if byaku is now training students of her own." Nyx said that she came to earth because she sensed unusual powers from here, powers of time travel. This confirmed ana's suspicions that nyx knew about ana's work of time that she took to get here. It got ana a bit irritated as nyx started going through about how time travel created multiple universes and timelines. Stating that an enemy was multiplied by doing this. She also went on to talk about a story of what happened on her planet and what happened to her people. About how her race was ravaged in the future by a war because of a coexistence of a 'siria' something that had never happened before and how it turned her future into a civil war, How after the fact one of her collegues came back in time and stripped her powers away before she was even born. Quite the sad tale really, One part of her really did care for what nyx was talking about and she could really feel together with nyx. She had to endure time travel same as her. although in different circumstances. That was the thing though. Nyx said that she wanted to help in anyway she could. And all ana responded with was a simple ".....are you done?" afterwords she straightened up a very serious look on her face. When it came ot the events of ana's future, she was more serious about it then anything else in her life. "You see, The events of my future is very different from yours. in our future the world was near too wiped out, The force that was the black bow army came to be, im sure you've heard of them, they are nothing more then the virtual cunts of the world who need to be wiped out." The black bow army were one of the evil dominant factions of todays world so she presumed that Nyx knew about them in some way, shape, or form. "The reason i came back here was to save one of the dearest people to me, my mother, I haven't gone back to my future in so long and ive been staying here in the past. In my future she is being TORTURED, NEAR TO MURDERED, SHE COULD ALREADY BE DEAD FOR ALL I KNOW!" she was starting to get a bit emotional but she tried to stay professional. "My mother was taken from me, kidnapped, By the last of these black bow army generals, a man named General D, he threatens to bring the black bow army back to prominance and is slowly torturing my mother in the future and if I dont hurry up and save her, She WILL die. The thing is though is when i first was in my timeline i wasn't strong enough, in fact i was nowhere close to it, Back then I probably wasn't even a tenth of the strength I am now." She Bawled her hands into fists at the thought of her earlier attempts at fighting general D, she got squashed, Trampled, Demolished, It was never even close at anytime. "Not only that but General D decided that he wanted to murder my mother, My Grandmother, and my Grandfather in ALL timelines, He is going on a rampage through ALL of the timelines! trying to kill my family one by one, And if he wins....if he somehow kills my family, there will be nothing left to stop the black bow army....there isn't anyone close to the strength of my grandparents or mother in the future timeline, there's only a handful of people even close to that REALM of strength. Thats why I set out to the past, I wanted to get stronger here, be trained by my grandfather and grandmother in their primes, and all while im doing this trying to stop General D from killing My mother in this timeline." She took a breather and slumped down back into her chair. "There's times where my endeavors through time have made me felt so alone....without my mother to comfort me like she usually would, I have to be the one to save her now, its all up to me and I gotta be the one to end this general..." Looking back up at nyx now she wiped a little bit of water out of her eyes that had built up during her long words. "I get what you've been through clearly, Sorry for going off on you a bit. In truth your situation with time travel is as close as im ever gonna get to someone thats near too my situation, Someone I feel like I can bond too and know a bit better. So yes after all that I just said I did come here to save this time, Now. I want you to tell me how you can benifit, How you can help me and My family in our dendevors to save the world we live in." The woman had been very patient and had listened to her as she told the Final Heaven member her reasons for coming to this city. She had also gone out of her way to meet her here. Since she had dragged her out here, the least she could do was listen to her tale of why she came back to the past. The future that she came from was indeed dark and terrible: an almost hopeless situation that she would do anything to change. She felt a bit of empathy for the young woman, along with a tinge of bitterness. This child would do anything for her family. She would support them no matter what they had to face. "You've been through hell and will bear whatever storm will come your way for the sake of your family. It will hopefully save humanity in the process as well. You bear the weight of multiple timelines on your shoulders. No one should have that much responsibility thrust upon them, but you have taken that burden for the greater good. Sometimes your goals are a cross on your back that weighs you down. Perhaps one day others will help you carry that weight. If my daughter was as noble as you are, I wouldn't be in my current predicament. That's a story for another day though." Nyx folded her hands in her lap, leaning forward so that she could speak more quietly to the young commander. "I have no qualms with you telling your story to me. How could I not be fully engaged in the bleak future that you described? There's no need to apologize for explaining your motives to be in this timeline: we now understand each other much better because of it. As for how I'm able to help you and your family in your endeavors, it would honestly be quicker if I listed the few ways by which I wouldn't be able to help you. However I will give my credentials so that you will understand my assets and apply them to Final Heaven as effectively as possible." Nyx slid the cup of tea over to the center of a table, taking a small sip before informing the Final Heaven commander of her capabilities. She didn't want her throat to become parched while explaining things to her. "I served as a military commander for decades. Most of my mission said, battles, and tours have been successful, although there were a few cases where things turned out unfavorably for me and my troops. I did always find a way to turn things around in the end though. Gathering information is a speciality of mine as well. Given enough time I can dig out the secrets of almost anyone. I'm also a very capable fighter, although age has weakened me somewhat. I'm training hard every day though and I'm gaining my strength back little by little." Nyx raised the teacup to her face, finishing off the tea that was in it before continuing. "Actions speak much louder then words though, so I intend to join Final Heaven as a new recruit. I don't want any special treatments: I will go through everything the others go though. I will lower my power down to their level so that I don't stand out, and will remain that way until I rise up high enough in the rank. I will prove all of my credentials to you in this manner, and this will give you time to study my behavior and look into my background on this planet. I hope to become high enough in Final Heaven to gain your trust. Are these conditions acceptable..... I don't believe you've given me your name. How should I address you?" [WC=625] [TWC=3,837] |

Major of Final Heaven

Ana raised a brow when nyx explained what she could do. Apparently she must have served as a military commander for her race as she explained so, So she would be ok with leading soldiers later on, that was something for ana to note, of course it wasn't ana's business if she didn't get there. She also was good at prying information out of people, another notable skill that final haven wouldn't mind having. Officers with the ability to pry information from someone and find information in a peaceful matter wasn't something alot of people in final heaven majored in. The next thing ana heard from nyx almost made her shocked as hell. Nyx ACTUALLY wanted to start at the bottom of the pole, with the recruits, no special treatment, The recruits literally were nothing. They didn't have anything close to the skills that nyx had described, clearly the position of recruit was too low of someone of her stature, but she insisted that she wanted to be at the bottom so she could prove herself to ana and the higher ups. "What an odd request, Im surprised that someone like you isn't asking for a higher role in the organization, Im gonna let you know right now, that as a recruit you will get beaten, you will get toughened up, there is even a risk of death, even with all of this you'd rather prove yourself there?" Ana wondered if nyx would get scared at this prospect, if she did then clearly she didn't belong in final heaven, if Ana wanted to help nyx join final heaven then she wanted to make sure she fit the role, if she couldn't get past the role of recruit then she was nothing, trash like the rest of them. wc: 300 twc: 2,375 |

Nyx closed her eyes, sipping her tea calmly as she reflected on Ana's words. Perhaps a long time ago they might have worried her. Although that time had passed long before she started her military career. It seemed so laughable now. In fact, the faintest hint of a smile spread across her face for just a moment. When she opened her eyes again, all trace of it had vanished though. All that remained was the calm, stoic expression that she normally wore on her face. "Then your grandfather is running a considerably efficient operation. There wouldn't be much merit to the training if your life wasn't at risk throughout the duration of it. I apologize if it seems like I'm making light of Final Heaven's training program. It's just that the cruel joke has reared its ugly head again. I'm being warned about death as a dangerous thing. I once thought that it was, even though I wasn't terrified of it. I learned first hand that there are much worst fates that can be befall someone. Now I pray for death once I shed the last regrets remaining in the universe. I hope that you can live your life only knowing death as the worst outcome." Nyx lowered her tea back down to the table, placing her palms on the table and opening her eyes. She didn't say anything more about the subject matter of her past. That hint was likely the only piece of information Ana would get from this encounter. "Putting that aside, there are a few different reasons why I want to start from the bottom. The first is that it eliminates any suspicion about me being a possible spy. If I, a stranger with no background were to come in and ask for a high position or even just a safer rank then the new recruits have, what do you think the conclusion would be? If I were in charge, I would suspect an attempt to put a spy in the works. Admittedly that's the riskier way of placing in a spy: some commanders And myself were fond of the safer but longer method of mixing a spy within the recruits. Although that isn't the style of your greatest enemies. They're much more direct with their tactics. Going in with the recruits eliminates the possibility that I'm from the Red or Black bow tie armies. Honestly, they have such silly names despite how dangerous they are." Nyx leaned back in her chair, shifting her back so that she was sitting up straight. Her hands slid to the sides of the chair as she continued on with her explanation for the seemingly strange position. "The second reason is that I want to know my future comrades in arms more closely. The network my race had made things remarkably convenient: everyone knew almost everything about each other thanks to the connection. Most races don't have such a network though, which is a pity. As such, there's always a gap between ranks in terms of familiarity. The higher ranking members don't really get to personally know everyone in their command: most aren't friends to new recruits. It's only after they've proved themselves they can be considered comrades. It's likely the same with you, isn't it? There's a gap between you and the lower ranking members you command." Nyx thought back to her days of commanding an army. Her troops were absolutely magnificent: they were in perfect synch with one another and were the most disciplined group of individuals Nyx had ever known. Unfortunately they weren't hers to command anymore. She was going to have to work with what she had. "The task of saving the universe is a arduous one to complete. As such, we don't need an army to accomplish it: we need the best army that we can produce. Fear and respect alone doesn't create powerful troops. I will become one of them, and I will learn everything about them. Their hopes, their dreams, what drives them I will subtly push them towards working as a more efficient unit. They will find common ground along one another. By the time I reach a post of command, they will act as a single entity in battle. Final Heaven will have the best soldiers on the entire planet. The price for suffering the hardships along side them is one that I'm willing to pay." [WC=733] [TWC=4,610] |

Ana listened to nyx as she began to list off why she wanted to start off at the bottom, they were some pretty good reasons Actually, with nyx getting close to the rooks it'd give them more chemistry and have them be able to work better as a unit. Not only that but it would eliminate her from being a possible spy, which was good because Ana really didn't want to get in trouble for letting someone in who wasn't to be trusted. Ana took a deep breath and looked nyx over, thinking carefully about what her next words were. "Alright then, this is how we're going to do this then, Im going to take you to the general and as a collective unit the higher ups will decide if your to be allowed in, Ill be sure to put in a good word but i can't be confident they'll let you in As soon as possible, if it were 100% up to me though I'd take you in." Ana got up and gave her empty cup back to the waiter and looked back at nyx "When i take you to The general let it be clear that this is a commitment that your going to have to honor in full, the general doesn't like wusses, or traitors. You are to listen to his every word as if it is god's given order. He is your one and only leader until his say so, Got me?, if so then lets get to it." She'd await for nyx to respond and get up now so the two would be on their way. wc: 270 twc: 2,645 |
