This was it, this was finally the day she had been waiting for. After all the years of intense training, all of the countless years of practicing her katas and form for the Crane style, all the sleepless nights she spent trying to perfect some kind of maneuver or technique handed out to her by her father or uncle, and she felt like she had personally reached the plateau of power, the proverbial glass ceiling. She knew this because she noticed that her usual training sessions weren't as beneficial as they usually were. Believing that she had reached her maximum potential, she finally set out on her quest of revenge. The revenge on Son Goku for taking the honor and prestige of the Crane School away from her family. All these years spent hating him, the ever present oppressive specter looming over the Crane Temple and casting his shadow over them like a never-ending nightmare, all of it would be taken care of when she finally ended his wretched life and brought his head to bask in the praise of her family. She would finally live up to all of the expectations they had of her, she would finally prove herself worthy of her lineage as the Crane Princess. Having long ago found out where Son Goku lived, she made sure to get ready. She brushed her silky black hair and pulled it into her signature twin tails look, and dressed herself appropriate in a Crane Gi, a lovely shade of green with the Crane symbol stamped proudly in the middle of it all. After slipping on her shoes, she ran out of the school and quickly grabbed one of the trees, ripping it out of the ground. Wanting to be stealthy in her approach so Goku wouldn't see her coming, she proceeded to toss the tree into the air like a ballistic missile, and then jumped onto it, surfing it towards Mount Paozu. As she did this, she suppressed her Power Level to as low as it could possibly go so Goku wouldn't sense her coming. Seconds turned into minutes along her journey, and what seemed to be in a flash of time, Mount Paozu came up in the distance. Smirking to herself, the small girl maneuvered the tree she was surfing on so that it landed in the forest around the small, dome-shaped house that Goku and his family lived in. Once she landed, she hopped off of the tree, and proceeded to stealthily make her way through the thick woods of Mount Paozu. Once she got within the outskirts of the forest, she gazed through the bushes she was hiding in to see none other than Son Goku, standing outside of his house and doing training of some kind. Narrowing her eyes into a vicious glare, Taoranran forced back a snarl in the event that Son Goku would hear her somehow, she took a couple of deep breaths to calm the lightning fast beating of her heart, and strolled out of the bushes. Once she was no longer concealed by the thick foliage, or even slightly covered by the shadows of the forest around her, she stepped into Son Goku's line of sight, her arms folded formally behind her back, chest stuck out to proudly display the Crane symbol she was wearing. At the same time, her eyes were narrowed in a glare, her amber eyes looking at him with unfathomable hatred. At the same time, her lips curled back into a snarl, looking very much like a cornered animal ready to pounce and maul him to pieces at a moment's notice. "Son Goku, how I've longed for this moment. At long last, I feel I am truly ready to take you on and restore the honor and prestige of family. I will finally have revenge for my family against the injustices you have committed upon them!" she hissed out at him with barely restrained rage, her blue aura slowly pouring out of her despite her best efforts to restrain it. She was eager and ready to throw down and finally end this wretched demon that turned her father into such a sniveling coward at the mere mention of his name, the man that helped humiliate her uncle so thoroughly in public. Goku trained outside of the Son Family home. Calming his mind and trying to get a better grip of the ki inside of him. Every day his ki control in his new kid body seemed to get better and better, and with the power boost he had gotten recently from the dragon balls. He felt himself getting closer and closer back to the old strength he used to possess. His eyes opening suddenly, the saiyan would break out into a race of punches at the air, testing out his fighting speed when enhanced by ki. the results would be something quite astonishing, as the saiyans attacks, even at a base form level, seemed to be faster than the average eye could see! even someone with a little bit of power would have trouble in trying to keep up with him! His daughter Cho, who was looking on from the sidelines, looking on in awe as her father continued on. Until after a few minutes, he stopped, Cho clapping for him ecstatically. Which made Goku look over to her with a smile. "your daddy's getting stronger everyday isn't he?" he said, chuckling lightly as he picked her up. Easily able to lift her onto his shoulder. "How about this time I'll train with you on top of me? you can be my training weight!" Before Goku could continue on with his training however, he heard the rustling coming from the bushes of the forest. Seeing a figure begin to come out. At first glance, the person who walked out didn't seem to be threatening, in fact, she was a rather pretty girl. Who didn't really seem like someone who was here to do something evil. That is, until Goku's eyes began to wonder further down, seeing the Crane symbol on the gi she was wearing, and his eyes narrowing, getting a good idea of the girls intentions. "Cho, go back inside to your mother, no matter what you hear, stay in there until I notify you, understood?" Cho only looked at him with worry until finally nodding, hopping off his back and running inside as fast as her little legs could carry her, not too long after Goku heard the locking of the front door, which ment that Chi-Chi was aware of the situation at hand. it was then that the girl went on with a booming voice, exclaiming that this was the day she was going to make him 'pay' for injustices he committed to what Goku assumed was the crane school. ![]() "The Crane school? It's been a while since you all have decided to poke your head out and try to pounce. The last I saw of you guys was Tien thrashing Mercenary Tao!" Goku said, chuckling lightly at the thought, he wanted to see just how easy he could get her to react, so he could learn more about their motives. "Your family? meaning you're related to Mercenary Tao and Crane? what happened to them is what they brought upon themselves! I wasn't going to let Tao get away with murdering anymore people, and Crane tried to ambush the tournament in a sore act once Tien refused to kill me! I say they got what they deserved!" Goku would say this in a hard tone, he didn't really have a lot of sympathy for those two in particular. Though to him, this girl seemed different, she didn't have that same aura arround her that Mercenary Tao or the Crane did. But yet she still wore that Crane gi, and was willing to attack Goku in the name of them. Either way, it seemed that Goku was going to have to fight, whether he wanted to or not. "You really need to reconsider what you're about to do, I dont want to have to hurt you if you go too far, but if it's a fight you want, then a fight is what you'll get!" Goku said, getting in a light fighting stance, but nothing too serious, his muscles seeming relaxed in comparison to the anger and focus that Tao seemed to show off in abundance. Chi-Chi would look on from the windows of the Son house, hiding Cho's face just in case something happened that was too much for the child. But even with this, she had more than enough face that her husband wouldn't be defeated by the crane! Word Count: 732 |

Taoranran narrowed her eyes at the way he chuckled via the memories of her father being swept aside by that traitor Tien Shinhan. The fact that he took joy in her father being humiliated merely enraged her even more, and she wouldn't stand for him finding amusement in such a thing. She idolized her family, and she would be damned before she would allow anyone to laugh at them. She had reached heights of power that her father and uncle could only dream of, and she would be the one to restore the prestige of the Crane School since they were still frightened of Son Goku. "How...How dare you laugh at my father's humiliation" she hissed at Son Goku, shaking in place from the sheer level of rage that she felt towards him at this moment. She wasn't going to allow him to get away with laughing at her father, she would make him pay for every act of injustice he had committed on her family. She clenched her hands tightly into fists as she continued to shake in sheer rage over the mere sight of Son Goku's annoyingly amused face. She hated him, she hated absolutely everything about him and what he stood for. Hearing Goku be so judgmental about her family made her visibly seethe in rage, the sheer insolence and disrespect he showed towards her family made her feel so angry. Up until now, she didn't know that she could ever feel so much rage and hatred for one single person in her life, but she was certainly feeling it now. She was going to make him pay for the way he talked down about her father and uncle, as if he was some all-knowing, all-judging god that had the right to decide who was and wasn't a bad person. Unable to resist commenting, she sneered at him as her amber eyes flashed with rage. "Tell me Son Goku, are you a God, are you some all-knowing, all-powerful deity who has the right to judge who is and isn't worthy of humiliation? How dare you stand there and judge my family as if you're above them! I don't care how much stronger you are than me, I will not tolerate you talking down to them as if they were lower than dirt!" she shouted out at him as she glared at him, her power slowly started to seep out of her. As if that wasn't enough, the mere sight of Goku adopting a more relaxed fighting stance. She could tell that despite how young Son Goku looked now, and even with the relaxed posture, that the man had decades of experience with fighting, and unlike her father and uncle, hadn't once stopped training. She couldn't tell how strong he was right now, all she knew was that he seemed to be around her level, and this thought actually excited her. Perhaps he had hit the veritable plateau of strength just like she did, and had gotten as strong as he possibly could. In all honesty, the relaxed posture he adopted just made her feel even more rage than she already felt. It wasn't enough he had to show open amusement with the humiliating of her father at Tien Shinhan's hands, he also had to look relaxed and show that he didn't view her as a threat as well? She had no idea a human being could ever possess so much rage in her life. She could fell her heartbeat starting to beat erratically, as if she was having some kind of anxiety attack. She would make this man pay for underestimating her. "How dare you! First you show open amusement at the misfortunes that befell my family, and now you don't even take me seriously when I show up to kill you?! I am Taoranran, the Crane Princess and heiress to the Crane Martial Arts Academy! I am the daughter of Taopaipai, I am the niece of Master Shen, and I am the one who will take your head!" she screamed out in a rage as her power exploded out from her, a fiery blue aura of Ki swirling around her person, which meant she had more powerful than Shen and Taopaipai ever had. Her power kept rising and rising, long ago having passed the level of power that would make her stronger than her father and uncle combined, but she kept rising and rising, until finally she reached her peak and unleashed a powerful shock wave. She then crouched down into the Crane stance, the sheer amount of training and hard work she did every day showing not only in the impressive level of power she had, but also in her stance. Even from a cursory glance, it was clear she had more dedication to training and Martial Arts than her father and uncle ever did. Shen and Tao grew complacent and never trained more than necessary to keep their skills sharp, and as such had never really improved that much. Taoranran, on the other hand, clearly trained hard every single day. She constantly pushed past her limits and worked her ass off every single day that passed her by to become stronger and stronger. It was clear she was very serious about her desire to kill Goku, and actually used her hatred of him to motivate her into reaching levels of power Shen and Tao never would have. She was going to show him her power, and he would fear her. With a mighty battlecry, she took flight and charged right at him. When she got in close, she unleashed a series of fast hand-to-hand combat strikes. Headbutts, elbow strikes, knee strikes, punches and kicks, she threw every kind of strike at him she had knowledge of, and didn't let up once. She was going to put him in the ground, and there was little Son Goku could do to change her mind. He would finally answer for his crimes against her family, he would finally face justice for what he and his friends had done! However, there was one thing about her that seemed separate from her father and uncle. While it was clear she held a grudge towards Son Goku for the perceived 'injustices' committed against her family, and she did hold a lot of hatred and rage for him, she seemed to lack their overall malice. Tao and Shen were petty, evil, and twisted, while Taoranran viewed her attempt at trying to kill Goku as more of a way of righting wrongs. While she was trying to kill him, she viewed what she was doing as a way of regaining honor and prestige for her family and it's school than some simple act of petty revenge. As the woman began to speak on in a tone of rage at Goku's laughter, the saiyan child would simply stand there as she spoke. Trying to put down Goku for his judging of her family. His lighthearted demenor being replaced with a sudden icy cold stare. "I am no god, but I know that those like Tao and Crane, people who would kill without a second thought and dont respect fighting with honor. I wouldn't be talking them down as if they were dirt if they didn't already view me in that same way." Goku said, remembering Tao and Cranes egos and how they thought the turle school would never be able to defeat the crane. How Goku and Krillin were only childs and that they wouldn't be able to do anything to themselves or their students. Just as Goku thought, the girl's anger seemeed to be getting the better of her, while Goku was relaxed, calm, and overall having a better fighting sense than her. the woman's energy practically oozed out of her. she was doing nothing to reserve herself and just seemed to be blinded by her own anger. Goku meanwhile, even though he was in a different body, even though it had only been about a month since his transformation, he had already learned greatly in his ki control training of his new body. and he had no such tendency to let his aura leak out of him like she did. Finally figuring out that in relation, that this girl was the direct daughter of Taopaipai, revealing her name to be....Taoranran. Well that name wasn't too far off from her father. Goku merely grinned as tao got even more enraged due to him seemingly not taking her seriously. if he had riled her up even more she probably would explode from the anger, it was quite the sight to see. ![]() "Sure, come try to take my head! but I guarantee you'll have trouble collecting!" Goku said, not wanting to hinder her willpower and make her not attack him by revealing just how much he was holding back by. Depending on her own want to utterly destroy him, she might be able to last against him for quite a bit. As long as she didn't have the same coward attitude like her father or the crane did. As tao began to power up almost obnoxiously, the area began to shake under the might of the crane princess's power, animals all over mount paozu running away from the fight, as well as the sound of plates shattering from inside the house as furniture fell over everywhere, Chi-Chi clutching onto Cho tightly. Meanwhile, Goku stood there undeterred, seemingly not affected at all by the crane princess and her rise in power, in fact, all it did was excite him even more. ![]() "I gotta admit, that's quite a bit of power you got there, you're definitely nowhere near the strength and power that your father and uncle are." Goku said, before getting into a fighting stance. "But, you're not going to beat me by just powering up!" As Taoranran flew at him, Goku would put up his defenses, floating back away from the first punch thrown before beginning to dodge and block the multitude of strikes thrown at him. and he seemed to be doing it with a bit more ease and concentration, he didn't seem to be exterting as much energy as Taoranran did when she threw her strikes. Finally, it seemed that Tao had gotten a good look! as when Goku moved to dodge her kick, a punch went swinging towards him! Goku simply stared at the fist as it flew towards him, it being inches away from his face before his whole body dissapeared! If Tao realized soon enough, she'd know that he was using the famed afterimage technique coined by Master Roshi himself, Goku reappearng behind the Crane Princess before throwing down an axe handle at her back! intending to hit her against the ground! "You aren't going to beat me with just blind rage y'know~! I've got much more up my sleeve than just that attack!" Goku said as he prepped for his assault. "Maybe you should focus less on where I am and more on where I am going to be!" Goku said, giving a suttle hint to the Crane assassin, but seeing as the fit of rage she was in, it was pretty much already a lost cause on trying to get her to increase her concentration. For his assault, Goku would throw a Kiai wave at the assassin, sending her flying towards the sky. Goku would put two fingers to his forehead, before suddenly instant transmissioning! reappaearing back up in the sky right where Tao was about to be. If she was unable to rebound from his kiai, Goku would throw a hard punch at her back, so he could send her right back down! Word Count: 822 Total Word Count: 1,554 |

Goku flat out admitting that he wasn't a god made her feel justified in the anger she felt towards his judging of her family. That being said, he did claim to have reasons for showing as much distaste for them as he did, and if she were anyone else, she might not have listened to him. The reasons he brought up were admittedly quite logical for someone of the Turtle School, but she certainly didn't want to admit to herself that he made some valid points. After all, being the most cherished student of the Crane School, she learned all about the Crane ideals. She knew first-hand that her father and uncle scoffed at the very mention of honor in a fight. As far as they were concerned, what mattered the most was victory at all costs. For them, there was nothing else but victory, and they didn't care a single bit about concepts like honor or cowardice so long as it allowed them to win and stay alive. However, she didn't necessarily believe in honor just like them, at least not honor when it came to things such as honor. She personally thought honor only had it's place in fighting if one initially agreed to any terms set in a fight, but that was about it. The very idea that honor would exist by default in a fight was laughable to her, due to the many teachings her father and uncle gifted upon her. What use was honor in a fight to the death, what use was honor where victory was required above all else? It was no surprise Son Goku would believe in honor, being yet another bleeding heart from the Turtle School, and on top of that the star student of Roshi's many students. She was going to show him what sticking by a default sense of honor in fights to the death got you. The fact that Goku treated them like trash because they viewed him as trash did little more than make her chuckle. Of course they saw him as trash, he was the star student of her uncle's bitter rival Roshi. Like all loyalists to the Crane Martial Arts Academy, she was taught to view any other ideals but the Crane as inferior, especially the ideals of their rivals, the Turtle Martial Arts Academy. To her, anyone who would train under that pervert Roshi was trash. "Honor has no place in fights to the death. If victory is the most important thing, only fools care about honor. Not surprised to hear such a concept come from you of all people, being the star student of that old pervert Roshi. The only honor I care about is the one you stole from my family and our school by constantly humiliating us! That is the only honor that matters to me! Who cares about honor or fair play in a fight if it doesn't help you win! As for them viewing you as trash, why wouldn't they view you as garbage, being the cause of our problems as well as the pride and joy of that inferior Turtle School!" she shouted out at him as she continued to try and assault his person with blow after blow. The overall relaxed nature of Goku as she tried to take him down only enraged her further, especially with the casual nature he used to mention how challenging she would find her attempt to take his head would be for her. The overall relaxed nature of the boy, despite her furious attempt to kill him, only added fuel to the fire, especially with how easily he was avoiding or countering her hits. Contrary to what Goku might think, she wasn't enraged beyond the point of being blind. She was perfectly in tune with her senses, she was giving it her all because she knew even the slightest mistake could lead to her defeat. She was going full tilt right from the get go, because she knew anything less than her absolute best against Goku would be utterly futile. Even at his best, her father fell to Son Goku's wrath, so she knew right away that there was no time for playing around with her family's greatest enemy. "I hope you're prepared to eat those words, Son Goku, because you will find that I will not quit until I separate your head from your shoulders! I will present it to my father and uncle, and I will show you the wrath of the Crane!" she said, attempting to surprise him by trying to go for a leg sweep to knock him off balance before she continued her furious assault on him. She was giving it everything she had, and no matter how tired or hurt she got, she would pull through and succeed where the rest of her family had failed. The fact that he complimented the vast superiority of her power over that of her father and uncle was something that did initially surprise her, so much so her face showed visible shock and she momentarily stopped her assault upon him. However, this did leave her open to attack, as such when he made use of the Afterimage technique, his follow up hit sent her flying towards the ground. It was the force and pain from the hit that woke her up from her shock, and she quickly flipped in mid-air and landed elegantly feet first on the grassy soil. Sensing the build up of Ki from Goku, she quickly darted to the side to avoid the Kiai attack he sent her way. Glaring up at Son Goku with hatred and rage in her eyes, she sneered at him as she pointed her finger up in his direction. At first nothing happened, because it appeared as if it was more of a taunting or signaling message than anything else. There wasn't even a build up of Ki or anything else of that nature. That was because she was trying to get him to drop his guard enough so she could surprise him. "I have studied all of your fights extensively, listened to all the stories of your exploits here on Earth, learned as much as I could about your style and your tenacity. I refused to go into this fight without having done any research. I know that you are the biggest obstacle in my path of vengeance. I know if I can beat you, accomplishing my goals will be very easy. No matter how strong you are, no matter what obstacles stand in my way, I will overcome you one day!" she shouted up at him. It was then that she made her move. "Dodonpa!" she shouted out, firing the deadly fast signature technique of her father up at Goku. The speed and overall power, not to mention the practically instantaneous way she pulled it off, showcased that she had practiced the technique with extreme diligence, practiced it until there was way she could ever get any better with the technique. While her father may have invented the technique, it was clear she mastered it on a level that far surpassed Taopaipai. WC: 1,185 TWC: 3,009 |
