Kontron has announced support for Intel's Fourth Generation Core processors across a broad range of systems, boards and modules. Four intelligent platforms has been launched, each offering improved processing and graphics performance, as well as energy efficiency.

"With our early launch parallel to the introduction of the new processor technology, we are enabling our customers to kick start the development of their latest intelligent systems," said Norbert Hauser, Kontron's executive vice president of marketing.

The first Kontron platforms to feature the new Core processors will be COM Express, Mini-ITX (pictured), 6U CompactPCI and the Kontron SYMKLOUD Media cloud platforms. Each offers such features as AVX2 instructions, which accelerate floating point intensive computations, and the Intel AES-NI, which accelerates data encryption and decryption.
