Virginia Beach General Hospital
A local hospital surprisingly not part of the Sentara Healthcare. This doesn't make it any better or worse, but for those with irrational prejudice this place stands as either the only place in the area worth going to, or the only one worth avoiding at all costs. Most accidents in the tourist-heavy areas like The Boardwalk will have EMTs bringing people here.

Cape Henry
Iconic given this is where you can find the Cape Henry Lighthouse- the first ever lighthouse authorized by the US government. To this day it still assists nightly in guiding ships in the Chesapeake Bay to harbor and through the river. Tours run almost all day, and security is top notch. For some reason, lots of people like to propose here and tour guides will actively halt groups to give romantic events space.

Croatan Beach
Technically a residential strip of beachfront property. Highly expensive and well-maintained. Given the fact it's located spitting distance from a residential community, locals tend to get really annoyed when tourists invade the area instead of any of the other several beaches in the city.

The Boardwalk
Perhaps the most well-known place in all of Virginia Beach, the boardwalk is easily the busiest area in the whole city. Known for its towering Poseidon statute, it's typically used as an easy to reach meeting spot for tourists trying to brave the confusing structure of the Virginia Beach area. There is no shortage of food, games, and things to be done here. Whether you're in the mood for lounging on the beach, a shopping spree, riding carnival rides, or catching a movie- you can do it all here.

Oceana Naval Air Station
A local military airport, also called Apollo Soucek Field. This is the only master jet base on the east coast. As a result, this place makes overhead military aircraft a pretty common sight in Virginia Beach. It is also the place to thank for the regular award-winning air shows people will come from all over the country to attend.

Aquarium & Marine Science Center
Well known for a friendly and highly-educated staff, the VB aquarium is one of the best places to go for dates or with family. Always filled with heavy tourist traffic, the center is usually holding at least two different kinds of educational displays and interactive exhibits daily. Security here is some of the best in all of the area.

Lynnhaven Mall
The biggest and most popular mall in Vriginia Beach. Want a table? A new outfit? Whatever that weird marble-thing is? This is the place to get it. A hotspot for moody teenagers and shopaholics, the tourist traffic makes parking a nightmare. Prices tend to fluctuate a lot based on the season, and locals tend to do any real shopping elsewhere. Still, it's a gorgeous place and not at all bad for some special occasion money spending.

Bay Island
A two mile long island, surprisingly fairly quiet despite being on the NorthEast side. It has two residential areas- Broad Bay Colony to the west and Bay Island to the east -but the locals tend to just refer to the whole place in general as Bay Island. The area has several community organizations and and associations, and as a result is both exceedingly expensive and very lavish. Most of the high class people in Virginia Beach strive to live here.

Broad Bay
A common residential area with a popular bay. It's a bad day when there isn't at least one boat or jetski somewhere on the water. While near Bay Island, the community is a little less haughty and tends to mix between lavish homes and more upper-middle class places. Since it's waterfront property, it's still agonizingly expensive. Personal property docks and fishing areas are fairly common along the waters edge.

Terrapin
Fairly expensive, averaging about 25$ a plate, Terrapin is a well-known contemporary restaurant that prides itself on being "farm-to-fork". Which, essentially, means unprocessed and 'healthier' food. At least that's what they claim to justify their prices. Though, truly, they do pull most everything they serve directly out of local areas and businesses. The lobster spaghetti comes highly recommended.

Rockafeller's
A casual place, with double-decker waterside seating and friendly staff. Around 11$ a plate, the place isn't as expensive as most other seafood restaurants in the area. For a loud but amiable experience, it's recommended. Sometimes seating is hard to get and food can take a while, and one the busier swings of tourist traffic quality can slip a little. But for a calm place to just eat on the water and relax with friends, there are few better options. Beware the early bird special.
