Welcome to Chaos Crisis, dear guest!

Chaos Crisis, otherwise referred to as CC, is a roleplay based around superheroes and villains that saw its start on Gaia Online. It turned out to be somewhat of a success, though it eventually became a little too big for little ol' Gaia.

Forty years ago, the public became aware of a condition.

Metahumanity.

A rare mutation in the human genes causing unpredictable and largely unexplainable powers.

People struggled to cope with the idea, and suddenly the grandeur of comic books didn't seem so far fetched anymore. In the end society did what it does best. People ignored the problem. Didn't want to acknowledge the new movement. Surprisingly, a new brand of genetic-focused racism didn't rise up right away. A few people here and there took to the expected campaigns, calling it an abomination against god, a disease plaguing human beings. But during the early 80s people had bigger things to worry about than a new prejudice to adopt or not. Thus, metahumanity as a social movement took a back seat.

Due to this early acceptance (even if just through post-war apathy) metahumans steadily sank into a commonplace notion. Some people had powers. Some didn't. Medical and psychological labs took to studying the genes and effects in people, and by and large it became a thing people simply didn't much talk about.

Now, in 2015, metahumanity is starting to finally emerge as a recognized concept.
People with powers, while no longer particularly shocking to discover, are more widely accepted in terms of discussing and demonstrating their abilities. So, naturally, one thing had to happen.

Someone, somewhere, eventually looked at a metahuman and asked the golden question.
"How can I make money off of this?"

Thus, last year in the summer of 2014, the first ever Olympus Games were created.
Starting out as a metahuman campaign by Coca-Cola, it was geared almost as nothing more than a cheap gimmick. A cutesy idea to pander to the still-popular comic book market. Coca-Cola strived to hold a competition to declare the world's ever first "hero".

The games quickly skyrocketed as Coke asked fans to upload videos of themselves doing something heroic online. It was then that metahumanity was given its first chance to shine. People from all over the US started uploading videos online, flooding the internet with dazzling displays of what they could do. The trend took like wildfire overnight, swallowing up even places overseas into the buzz of it. Everyone wanted to show the things they could do. To finally be recognized as something more than the black sheeps of their families.

In the end, the campaign was so popular Coke held voting online. All of america voted for twenty five different participants to be flown in to New York City. There, Coke worked with the local NYPD to construct controlled "emergencies" for the heroes to respond to. Each obstacle was filmed and broadcasted live, where fans could vote on their favorite heroes after each challenge. At the end of the week, two heroes were dropped based on popularity and points earned in previous challenges.

The show aired for one full month, absolutely shattering view ratings of any other known show on tv. As the movement took the world by storm, the eventual winner of the competition was declared "a real life superhero". The marketing campaign that launched from there spawned a full feature movie, a two season long fictional tv show, actions figures, t-shirts, and enough random assorted paraphernalia to drown every potential fan twice-over.

The hero who won, "Bastion" became a household icon.

And now, in the summer of 2015, it's happening again.
Only now, more companies have accepted the great marketing campaign for what it is. Everyone wants to get a bite of what Coke has- a world-famous metahuman "hero" wearing his iconic red and white suit while making appearances country to country. This year, the competition is gearing up to be bigger than ever before. With several companies throwing money in to fund it, it promises to be a multi-million dollar affair.

This year, ten different major corporations are coming together to fund the 2015 Olympus Games. Coca-Cola, naturally, is manning the helm of the project and has already begun to air ads for the new event. This time held in Virginia Beach, USA, the competition is opening with some slight changes to the rules.

This year, rather than the previous twenty-five, the competition will be accepting hundreds of applicants to register. The top ten heroes to make it to the end will all be promised sponsorship from the various funding companies. What they do with it from there is theirs to decide.

It is a chance for fame. For fortune. For the platform one needs to step out into the new light of real life "heroism". Beyond the flashy ideas of movie deals and high tech suits- it's a matter of empowering people once ignored. Encouraging the things that make them strange. Teaching a generation that now they should be proud of who and what they are. And more than that- they should do something truly great with it.

The age of the hero is only just now beginning.
With it, however, comes the age of the villain.

Riding on the back of the famous broadcasts, strange posts online have been hinting at nefarious forces in play. People ready to follow similar dreams- but rather than competing to be the country and world's new heroic idols, they strive for the opposite. For evil, megalomania, or just a damn good time. Whether this force is simply a controlled publicity stunt to up the ante or not, no one knows.

What's clear is this- the 2015 Olympus Games are soon to begin.
And no matter what happens, they are going to change the world.
