((Wrong tense))

Fiona sat back in her chair. She was beginning to think it was hopeless.

Sam sighed. No one liked Angelica, but she was certainly useful to the V-Squad.

Alex looked at Fiona, unsure of everything going on.

Fiona glanced at Alex with a weak smile.
"Your sure there's nothing suspicious?" Fiona asked. Although she was still angry, Fiona still felt something for Angelica and knew she couldn't live herself if she left permanently without knowing everyone she cared for was safe. No matter how angry she was.

"I don't think this is working out," Sam said. "Angelica could be anywhere out there, not only at the docks. And this equipment isn't doing what we need."

((Wrong tense. lol.))

Fiona sighed.
"Technology is suppose to help. I guess we'll have to take Alex home and just give up for tonight." Fiona said.

Sam nodded. "We can always try later."

Alex sat quietly, watching Fiona and Sam speak.

"I just hope it won't be too late." Fiona replied.

Sam didn't comment. He glanced at her curiously, then away. He steered the ship away from the waters back to the city.

"You don't mind going home do you Alex?" Fiona asked.

Alex nodded. To be honest, he was becoming homesick and worried for his mother. "I want to."

Fiona nodded. Her mind put at peace that Alex would be safe while she made sure Angelica was safe.

Sam landed in a parking lot near Jane's apartment and Alex got out. It was beginning to rain outside and thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance.

Fiona followed Alex out and looked at the apartment. A frown fell across her face. It seemed too quiet around the apartment.
"I don't think she's in Alex." Fiona said.

It was cold, quiet, and dark in there. "But..." He sighed. "Okay. I'll wait for her to get back. I think she's fighting bad guys."

Fiona's frown deepened. She didn't want Alex on his own.
"Trust me, I think it's safer if you stayed with me. I don't want any of the bad guys getting you while your mums away. Has the saying goes. When the cat's away the mice they do play." Fiona said.

He nodded. "But I can come back when she gets back?"

Fiona nodded.
"When she gets back." She confirmed.

"Are we going back to your house?"

Fiona looked around. Sam had flown off.
Fiona nodded.
"It seems we are." She said.

"Okay." He liked her house.

A few minutes later, they arrived at her apartment--thanks to her cloud-making abilities. Alex went inside.

He hadn't said a word the whole way there.
