Fiona frowned for a second. She thought she heard something. She gave her head a small shake and gave a small nod.

He slowly opened the door. He felt a strange nervousness as he did so, and it was like he was watching a suspense movie instead of experiencing this....

The room was bare, except for someone at the end, sitting with her back against the wall. Her only clothing was black underwear. Her hands were cuffed behind her back, her eyes were closed. She was unconscious.

A sound like a huge bee buzzing resounded through the boat.

Sam looked at Fiona, eyes wide.

"We were right. He wasn't here, but he is now." He looks at her. "What now?"

Fiona glanced at Angelica.
"Sort him first, she's safe. Surprise attack?" Fiona asked.

He nodded. "Right."

The buzzing had stopped and there was now footsteps up ahead, which could be heard over the sound of rain.

"Hide." Fiona whispered.

Sam darted into the bathroom, closing the door to only an inch. There wasn't much else to hide at.

Fiona went into the room with Angelica and shut the door in the way it was before it was opened.

Clanking could be heard on the ladder, and the guy stopped climbing.
The guy walked to the kitchen area. It sounded like he was carrying something that made a strange noise--plastic grocery bags, it must've been. He made a lot of noise putting stuff away, then he started making his way to the door, where Fiona and Angelica was.

Fiona hid in a spot where he couldn't see her when he opened the door.

Jane was on patrol that night. There had been so much to do--too many criminals to stop at once. But she managed it.

She was exhausted, cold, and wet, feeling hopeless. She could return everyone else's children, save everyone else's family, but she still had nothing of her own. And no matter how hard she tried, no matter how much of her life she dedicated to protecting the city, there would never be a word of thanks or gratefulness.

Damn Fiona. Damn her to hell for taking the only bit of joy Jane ever had in her life.

The criminals would never be happy until everyone suffered.

Jane was dealing with yet another set of criminals near the docks. Her work would never be done. And it didn't help her fire power was not working properly out in the rain.

Back at the boat, the captor made his way to the door and opened it.

Fiona waited for the right moment. Ready to attack as soon has the captor was in the right position.

He walked in casually, not suspecting a thing. Sam stepped out of the bathroom and grabbed a rusted crowbar from the floor. He stealthily made his way to the door and stood behind the captor, ready to attack if need be.

Fiona took a step toward the captor, being careful to stay behind him. A small smile played on her face. This was the person who had them all up in arms. 'He wasn't so tough.' She thought.

He wore worn-out jeans and a tan-colored jacket. He looked to be in his early to mid thirties.

He stood looking at Angelica, then shook his head. "They'll thank me...for saving them from this monster," he said aloud to himself.

He reached inside his jacket and took a pistol. He pointed it at Angelica's heart. She was still unconscious, unaware of what was about to happen.

"You'll be long dead before you can even pull the trigger." Fiona said aloud then a lightening bolt lit the whole room. A hole collapsed in the ceiling.

He felt to the floor, shaking, his back burned. The gun dropped, landing nearby.

Fiona walked up to the gun and picked it up. She tossed it to Sam and turned to the man.
"Mummy never told you? Play with fire, your gonna get burned." Fiona said bending to look at his face.

Sam turned the gun to the guy and kept it pointed at him.

The guy groaned and turned on his side, looking up at her with wide eyes.
