Fiona finally looked at Angelica.
"Alright, I accept your offer. I just have to do one thing first." Fiona said.

Angelica slowly let go of Fiona's ankle.

Fiona took one step up. Then paused.
"Are you coming?" Fiona asked.

Angelica grabbed hold of the ladder and climbed up, taking longer than usual. She felt weaker than she should, either as a result of the drugs, or the fact that she hadn't stood upright in a long time. Finally, she arrived on the deck.

Fiona ran out towards the ship. She felt she'd already left Alex far too long and needed to be sure he was fine now that her mission was over.

Sam was up in the ship now, panicking a bit. It's not like he cared personally for Alex, but if Fiona knew that the kid was gone now...she would surely blame Sam for it.

But the fact was, he had no clue where the kid was. The ship was empty.

((lol, reverting to his old name now?))

Fiona frowned when she got to the ship.
"It was locked wasn't it?" Fiona asked.

Sam nodded. "Locked. There's no way the kid got out. If he did, he just plunged straight into the lake."

Fiona looked around.
"Someone let him out then." Fiona said.

"But who?"

Suddenly, through the window a great flash of light could be seen. Fire burned up into the atmosphere and stayed for a few more seconds before extinguishing.

Sam looked at Fiona knowingly. "I guess our question is answered." He sat down. "I'm just glad the kid is out of my face."

Fiona glared at him.
"What's wrong with Alex, he's a good kid." Fiona said.

"Did I say there was anything wrong with him?" he snapped. "You might like kids, but they're not my thing. Now, are you going to get your ex, your girlfriend, or whatever the hell she is to you, so we can go?"

He turned away, spinning his chair to face the windshield.

Fiona frowned at his sudden change in attitude and ran to see how much progress Angelica had made.

Sam sat staring at the window, frowning.

So Angelica got the girl in the end. Angelica, of all people, Angelica. She would get the happily ever after. Sam on the other hand hadn't hurt Fiona, betrayed her (at least, he never wanted to, unlike Angelica), and he even helped save Angelica, just so she could get Fiona back. They may not have been together yet, but they would be. He knew it.

He sighed. And all he had to go back to was...Lauren. The exact opposite of Fiona.

Fiona stood waiting for Angelica.
"He really got you good didn't he? I think you should go home and recover before we discuss anything." Fiona said seeing Angelica barely able to walk.

Angelica leaned against the edge of the boat. "I simply need to wash up a bit. And maybe find something to eat. But I'm fine, no worrying."

The ship lowered to right above the boat, and a railing extended outward from the side door. Angelica walked up that and into the ship. She saw Sam.

"I didn't expect you of all people would be the one to come," she said, rolling her eyes.

"A thanks would be appreciated," he said, glaring at her. He didn't expect it, though.

"Fine. I thank you. The both of you." She sat down gingerly.

Sam went quiet.

"Well? Are you going to tell me how you found me?" she asked after a few more seconds of quiet. She looked at Fiona.

Fiona sat down. Her face a picture of innocence.
"Good old fashion tracing." Fiona lied. She didn't think Angelica would appreciate the truth.

"Tracing," Angelica repeated, frowning. "You've had me tracked?"

"No, tracking the TV aerials or something, I don't really know. Sam did it, not me." Fiona said.

Sam snorted from the front seat. Angelica glared at them both, clenching her fists.

Then Sam put on a convincing face. "Fiona is right, I had you tracked, in case anything happened like this. The other V-Squad members don't know, though, so don't blame them."

Angelica gritted her teeth, sighed, then unclenched her fists. "Under normal circumstances you would pay dearly for that. But it's saved my life, so I'll let it go. This once."
