Fiona rolled her eyes. Angelica never changed. She knew it would be foolish to agree to return permanently. |

Angelica rolled her eyes, knowing what she was thinking. 'You should have stayed away from me in the first place, if you didn't like me,' she thought to herself. But Fiona was wrong, Angelica did change. Just the simple fact that she had thanked Sam and Fiona, which is something she never did to anyone--that was something. She called to the V-Squad base to make sure the servants would have a robe ready. She couldn't walk through the base half-naked. They arrived home. |

Once back at base Fiona turned to Angelica. "I'll be in the conference room when your ready." She said. |

Angelica nodded. It would be best to talk there. No specific memories there of their love. Angelica went off to her room. She showered, dressed, then went to get something to eat. Only the chef and a few servants knew she was back. She had told Sam to make sure everyone else was ignorant of the situation, and that they would stay away. Once she was done, she walked to the conference room, a large room with a round table and large monitors on the walls. She locked the door behind her and looked around--the screens showed radars and city maps, profiles of criminals and possible tips about missions. Then she looked at Fiona. |

Fiona was sat in a chair at one end of the table. She glanced at Angelica when she entered. But didn't say anything. She was trying so hard not to get comfy. |

Angelica didn't sit. She wasn't sure what to say, if she should say anything at all. She felt odd--it was odd being back here with Fiona. When people left her, they never returned--especially to help her like Fiona had. And here she was, not only rescuing her but willing to at least listen. Or maybe she was simply humoring Angelica. And for the first time, Angelica--the confident leader who got things done--was unsure of herself. "Thank you for coming here," she said quietly. |

Fiona gave a small nod. "You said you wanted to explain. Well explain." Fiona prompted. |

"Before I can begin explaining, I need to ask something. It has to do with what I will tell you: why did you ever love me? Or did you? You must have enjoyed my company to some extent, otherwise you would have left." |

"You have no idea just how much I loved you. And I don't know why I did. My head was telling me no, but something overroad all that. I don't know what but no matter how hard I tried, how hard I still try, I still love you. And yet, What you did was unforgivable. And it still hurts more than anything." Fiona said. |

Angelica tried to not lose grip, but it was already becoming too difficult. Fiona really loved her. No one ever had before. She stepped a few feet closer. "Just know....This is me. I can't change, I don't know how. My job is to stop people who interfere, people like the Dragon Bane. I became so wrapped up in destroying her, I didn't think that you would be hurt. I didn't think about it. I've never had to before. You're the only person I've cared about...in a long time. But I never wanted to hurt you. Never. I'm sorry." She had always been able to use smooth words to keep politicians quiet, to keep criminal bosses to work on her side. But at the moment, now that these words were personal to her heart...words were failing her. |

Fiona swallowed, tears speckled her eyes. "But that's the problem, your sorry, I understand that, but because you can't change is why I don't think I can stay. Yes your sorry this time, but what's to stop you from doing it again?" Fiona asked. |

"I won't, Fiona, because I can't. I can't be alone again, I can't go back to that. That's what's stopping me. I'm still learning, I'm still trying. I can change that for you." |

Fiona looked away. Letting the words sink in. When she looked back she gave a small smile. "Just know, if you ever pull a stunt like that, Then you'll never ever see me again, understood? Not even if you get yourself captured again." Fiona said. |

"Like I said, I won't. I can't." Did this mean there would be another chance, another future? It sounded like it. |

Fiona smiled. "I'd better get re-settled in then." She said. |

Angelica nods. "No need to get your things. I'll have someone return them from your apartment." She had known all along where Fiona lived. Knowing she had stayed in Gotham had been Angelica's only comfort. She stood by Fiona's seat. "Thank you," she said, knowing she didn't have to say anything else. |

Fiona gave a nod then frowned. She wondered how Angelica had not only known she hadn't left the city but knowing exactly where she was staying. She didn't bother raising her wonders aloud. Sometimes ignoreance truely was bliss. Fiona stood then and gave a smile. "Don't worry about my stuff. I didn't bother unpacking anything important." Fiona explained. |

Angelica glanced at the computer. She was dying to know what she had missed while she was gone. But no, that could wait. She had been away from Fiona for weeks, and she would rather catch up with her. "Your room is still the same as when you left it. Nothing is different," she informed, unsure of what else she was supposed to say. She stood there, her posture straight and formal as always. |

Fiona smiled and nodded. "I had a feeling you wouldn't change our room much." Fiona said. |

Angelica nodded. "You were correct." |
