"Nothing of any use," he said, frowning. He turned his head, smelling the food. He smiled. "Thanks." He picked up some bacon and began eating.

Fiona smiled and nodded.
"No problem, other countries do have some weird tastes." Fiona said and sat back on her chair.

Sam nodded and move on to the pancakes. He was starving.

He ate while he worked, clicking through files and typing up codes.

Fiona sat silent in the chair. She didn't much feel like talking, it was rare for her to not want to talk about something. She sat back in the chair and grabbed the paper she'd brought with her. She wondered if it held any information she didn't know already. Even if it hurt to read her name.

"What's going on?" a voice asked from the doorway.

There Lauren stood. She walked in. "I'm back." She smiled.

Fiona looked up from the paper and smiled.
"Lauren, good to see you." Fiona said.

She walked to them. "So, what did I miss?"

"You haven't missed breakfast. Other than that, nothing." Fiona replied.

Lauren smiled. "It's so good to be home. You won't believe how many people don't speak English at the other base. It gets really lonely...." She stopped babbling and sat down by Fiona, and looked at her concerned. "Hey, are you okay?"

Fiona nodded.
"Just reading the newspaper. It gets pretty depressing sometimes." Fiona lied. In truth she wasn't really okay, but she wasn't to tell them that. She had to be happy with what she'd got.

Lauren nodded in agreement. She looked at Sam, who had reached over to get something more to eat.

She held out her arms. "Well, aren't I going to get a kiss, sweetheart?"

He slowly turned to her and let her fall into her arms as she gushed and talked about how long it's been.

Fiona stood.
"I'll be in my room if you need me." Fiona said and walked from the room. Now her missing Angelica felt like salt had been rubbed into the wound. She wasn't mad at Lauren for highlighting further how much she missed Angelica, she wasn't to know how she felt. But while ever they were being just them together, she couldn't be around them. Not without feeling even more pain.

Yoko arrived two hours later. She went to her room for a while before going to the main control room to look for everyone else. Sam was still looking through the files. He and Lauren had eaten the food by then.

Fiona was now sat alone in the meeting room. There was a big pile of requests she'd been neglecting and was currently looking through them. Always keeping her mind busy. She was however starting to loose the battle to stay awake, she only hoped that if she did sleep, Sam and Lauren would be enough to keep the nightmares way if only for a few hours.

The V-Squad spent the rest of the day trying to find out who had bailed out Angelica, and where she could possibly be. This would be much easier if she wore tracker earrings like the last time.

It sounded as if Angelica went with these people willingly. The V-Squad wondered if they should really be looking for her if she wanted to be found.

* * *

Angelica spent the rest of the day alone, and again attended dinner in the dining room. This time, Luthor was not alone. Tess Mercer was there. She no longer wore her the black pantsuit, but now a little black dress. Her red hair was down, hanging on her shoulders and kept in place with a black headband. She looked stunning.

Both of them were talking, but they stopped when Angelica entered the room. She was also wearing an ice black dress. She felt the look was ruined by her very-pregnant stomach, though.

"Miss Mercer will be staying for dinner tonight, if you don't mind," Luthor said, simply to be polite. Angelica knew that it didn't matter to him if she minded or not.

She sat down, unanswering. She wondered what they would be eating tonight.

Angelica, being observant as always, noticed Mercer glance at Luthor through her eyelashes and back down to her lap before he noticed. Angelica wondered what that was about.

The butler in a stiff tuxedo entered the room. He told them what the chef was cooking, and he bring in the food because it would be done soon.

It was quiet again.

Angelica noticed that Mercer glanced at Luthor often, smiling. The look on her face was familiar. It reminded her too much of home. Once she realized what the look was, she cringed. How pathetic. Mercer had a crush on him.

People could be stupid. People could be stupid like Angelica had, falling in love and trusting someone.

"I'm not feeling well, I'm going back to my room." She stood and returned upstairs before they could say anything about it.

Fiona took the assumption that Angelica didn't want to be found, with great offence.
"Why would she not want to be found? Why on earth would she just give up everything she had? What makes you think she hidding from us? Just because someone bailed her out first? I can bet every last penny I own she never asked for it. What would she gain being a single mother? Regaurdless if she stayed with the people who bailed her out or not. They wouldn't care about that baby. She wouldn't willing put herself through that knowing that that baby would grow up loved here." Fiona said. She felt they wanted to give up. Fiona wouldn't, couldn't even.

"We didn't come for her as soon as we were supposed to," Sam reminded her. He hadn't realized the she had over-heard him and the others talking. "As for giving up everything, who says she has? Maybe just doesn't want to be found for now. If you don't think this is possible, then explain why she hasn't returned? Why she hasn't gotten in touch with you?"

"Maybe she can't. Maybe they won't let her. That is assuming of course whereever she is has access to such forms of technology to allow that. Those streets aren't bursting at the seams with telephones anymore. Even the ones who eat money are mostly broken if you can find one at all." Fiona replied.

He shrugged. "I'm only looking at every aspect of the situation. It's what we do here."

Fiona nodded.
"Just don't say things like that, I won't believe any of it until we find her and she tells us for herself." Fiona said.
