Fiona giggled. "If it doesn't. I'll just try harder." She took a sip of her drink. "Although the adult mature side says talk to them. But for once I'm ignoring my inner grown up." |

She shrugged. "I expect one of them will someday reach the breaking point and attempt to retaliate. I usually try to avoid the situation progressing to that point." |

Fiona gave a small smile. "Ever the sensible one. I think it would be fun if they tried. But no, I understand what your saying. The adult in me agrees. Maybe for the sake of everyone we should find new cooks. Just to prevent a new war." |

"Indeed. After all, it wouldn't do to have our food poisoned." She smirked. "Yes, I think I'll choose new hired help very soon." She set aside her wine glass. "But for tonight, my attention belongs to you." |

Fiona smiled flirtasiously. She raised a eyebrow. "Should I be scared?" she asked. |

"If you are wise...." Angelica reached over, taking Fiona's glass and placing on the sidetable next to her own. Then she pounced on Fiona, pinning her to the bed. She smiled. She purred, "Then yes, you should be scared." |

"Then I will be forced to put the fear of Volkova in you," she purred teasingly. She began kissing Fiona's neck, then trailed up to her lips. She kissed deeply. "Are you frightened now?" |

Fiona gave another mock fight. A smile creeping across her face. "I'm only a little bit frightened. You'll have to try harder than that to scare me." She let out a full grin now. |

She smirked. "I will succeed," she promised teasingly. * * * Jack Napier stood before the baby bed in his and Jane's room. Tonight was the night. They would either get the money they needed or it would fail. Jane was pregnant and could not work. Neither of them had family to help. She had long ago broken ties with her well-off parents. The government benefits were not enough. There was no other choice. He had to do what he could for his family. He didn't hear her walk up. "You didn't get the job, did you?" He didn't turn. "I told you everything would be fine." He tried to smile, but struggled to do so. "You worry too much." "Is that a yes?" Silence. "So you did lie to me. You didn't get the job. Was there even an actual job interview?" "There was an interview," he said, turning to look at her. "And no, I didn't get it." "What was the job?" "I did a comedy routine." He turned away. "A comedy routine? Jack, we need money. Now is not the time to think about your damn career. I can't work, so you need to find a job that will actually pay. Have you forgotten that we have a daughter coming? It seems like all you do lately is snap at me and hang out with your gangster buddies!" Instead of snapping back or trying to reassure her that he had everything under control and to turn that frown upside down, she watched as he seemed to break down. "You think I don't care." His voice cracked. "That it's all a big joke to me or something...." He shook his head. "Jeez. I have to go and stand up there and nobody laughs. And you think...you think I...." She felt a surge of guilt. She'd never seen him this way, and it scared her. He looked back down at the baby bed, as well as the blankets and stuffed animals inside. They hadn't yet sorted everything out. Most of the items were pink. Abruptly, he turned and began walking to the doorway, toward her. "I have to go. I'm going out with the guys tonight." The guilt was replaced with anger. "Again? You were out with them earlier! What have you been doing with them all week?" She followed him out of the bedroom, through the hall and into the living room. "Jack! Don't you fucking ignore me. Answer the question! What, are you going on some kind of crime spree with those guys?" Alex sat on the couch, finishing homework. His parents didn't seem to notice he was in there. He set aside his book and watched them. Jack slipped his jacket on. He turned to look at Jane. There was something different in his face. A grim kind of resolve. And she knew the truth then. "There are so many other ways we can get money! Committing crimes is the lowest of the low!" "I have a duty to provide for my family. What's low is letting us get trampled by the 1% as we struggle!" he said desperately. "How can you think I would condone this?" she asked, baffled. "I didn't think you would. Which is why I lied." He opened the door. "Jack, those guys are dangerous and they'll bring you down with them. They are SCUM. Nothing but trouble!" He stepped through the threshold. On impulse, she shouted, "If you walk out that door tonight to go out with them, don't think about coming back!" He stopped and looked at her one more time. Then his gaze went to her stomach and the visible baby bump. As if making up his mind, he turned and shut the door. Jane stood there in shock. She hadn't thought he would really do it. But he did. She realized then that the baby was kicking frantically. A hand on her stomach, she turned to see Alex staring at her and the closed door. She didn't know what to say and he didn't ask anything. So she turned and went on to her bedroom and cried. |

The leader of the gang, Aron Millier sat in their hideout awaiting his fellow members. He was pouring over the plans given to him the previous night by his 'employers'. Which in turn he was still pissed off about. The blonde British Chick seemed almost cocky. He sighed. If it hadn't been for the money he'd have shown the Russian where to stick her plans and her assignment, but alas. Money did make his world go round so he had no choice but to accept. He'd simply have to prove his superioirty by succeding. Hopefully without much help from the bitch who lead the V-Squad. |

Jack changed into black clothes in his car and arrived at the hideout with the a ski mask in hand. He looked around. "I'm guessing Jamal isn't here yet," he said drily. He meant the third, of course. |

A grunt of a responce. "If he doesn't get here soon, we're going without him." Aron never once looked up from the plans. |
