Chapter 9 Retribution Angelica had pretty much expected that what happened would take place. Her life wasn't full of surprises anymore. She groaned and slid down the wall. Sure, she wasn't blindfolded but the pitch blackness was as good as blindness. "You're a smart women aren't you Angelica?" Lucas asked from somewhere in the darkness. She didn't reply. She only worked on trying remove the handcuffs, without luck. A million things ran through her mind. The one that stuck out most was he's gonna rape me. "You should have worked out by now my intentions," Lucas said. She could hear his footsteps in the darkness, then the light flashed on. "If you haven't worked anything out, will it help now the light is on?" * * * The mercenaries finally finished setting up camp, and the Chief was pleased. "Alright, time to get to our next part of business. You three, come with me. We're going to the mainland. The rest of you, sit back and relax." The three mercs followed the Chief to the helicopter and climbed in. Time to pay Angelica a little visit. The Chief and the three mercs approached the V-Squad base. They had left the helicopter in a clearing not far from the coast. "Okay, listen up. I don't want anyone getting shot here, unless they shoot first. Understand?" The merc nodded their heads. "Good, we're here just to rub it in Angelica's face. She never expected for me to build my own merc company." Finally, they entered the garage and jumped out of their car. * * * Angelica kept her eyes firmly shut. "Leave me alone." She shook her head. "Oh, but Angelica, you're not the only one suffering. You're not the only one who is going to pay for their crimes!" Lucas said angrily. "I have your little friends as well. The child and your slave, they'll be taken care of in a foster home," he added softly. "No," Angelica groaned. "Not Selena. Please not Selena. They won't take care of her. They'll hurt her, like I was. I won't let you do this!" "Prison is no place for a child. She'll be better off in a foster home, and possibly a new family," Lucas replied. "Noooo!" She was now sobbing. She could hear groans from her team mates and assumed they were gagged. "There is no other way. There's no one to blame for your crimes but you, and because of your crimes means you need to pay. And your child can't follow you to prison," Lucas said softly. Suddenly, the Chief could be heard entering the room. "Hands in the air, buddy," he said. He was carrying his M16. "Well, looks like Angelica is in a bit of trouble. You're a bloody snitch, Lucas, and I hate snitches." For once, she was happy to see the chief. Angelic slowly opened her eyes and saw they were in a metallic room. Her team was tied up and gagged against the wall. She closed her eyes quickly. "You can't put my daughter with a family she doesn't know! They will kill her!" Lucas looked at Angelica. "Stop shouting," he said softly. He turned to the Chief with a smile. "Detective Andy McClaren, and you are all under arrest," he added, giving his real name. "Don't tell me to stop shouting in my own base!" "Andy, you just lost. I've got three guys waiting outside this room, so don't try running." The Chief smirked. "So, your move, snitch." "Three guys? I have the whole police force surrounding this building. I have all the biggest threats detained, and you and your 'men' will be no exception. Now, you can give yourself up or we can do this the hard way. Either way, you're going to lose," Andy said, smiling. Madalyn peeked through the door and saw the scene. Only one person could help and she had to do everything she could to get them. "Remember that I'm the one with the M16 pointed at your back," the Chief threatened. "I will not hesitate to gun you down right here." "One gun shot and everyone hear dies. Those are the orders my men have. Your choice," Andy replied with a grin. "I've got a lot more than three guys. One word and they all move in and gun down you and all your little cop friends." Angelica growled. "Damn you. Damn you!!" "I doubt that," Andy replied to the Kerensky. "By the time they are contacted, you'll all be long dead." He turned. He held a gun in each of his hands. He smiled. "Oh, and just so you know, one of these gun's has a mild sedative, the other has a horse tranquilizer. These were prepared for the criminal who needs a little help to be detained. Now, give up now, I won't use either. Struggle a little, you get the mild one. But anything more than a little struggle, you get the tranquilizer, and that one will kill a human." "Tranqs? That's the best you've got?" the Chief asked. "You know what happens when a 5.56 round does to a body? It turns sideways and rips through several inches of muscle and tissue, then shatters. You're about to know what that feels like." Andy smiled. "Tranquilizers aren't the best. They're just for show, mainly." "Nobody move!" yelled a female voice. You could tell the accent was slightly British. Angelica was almost as frightened as she was whenever in the presence of Deathstroke. The Chief smirked. "Well, nice little stand off we got here." "What the hell is going on here?" the voice asked again. The owner of the voice walked into the room so everyone could see her. She had blond hair. Her eyes were gray and cloudy from drugs. They should have been green. This was Fiona. "How did you....?" Andy asked, staring at Fiona on disbelief. "How did I what? Survive?!" she asked him. Clearly, she was angry--very angry, a side very few ever saw. The Chief whistled and his three men came bursting to the room, guns pointed at Andy. "Well, you lose." Angelica gave a triumphant smile at Fiona. "Fiona! He's going to take Madelyn and Selena!" Fiona glared at the Chief. "Back off! He's mine and mine alone. Oh, and Chief, I know what you tried to do to Madalyn, and if the thought ever crosses your mind again and Selena is involved, I swear to god I will make you wish you had never been born." Andy took a few steps back nervously. "And you, don't you dare touch either kid," Fiona added. "Hey, I was only trying to help the kid," said the Chief. "I didn't want to hurt her." "That's my job. I help her as much as she needs it. Now, tell your stupid men to back off or you'll be on my list of enemies." She was acting very out of character. But the frame of mind she was in was what had earned her the title of world's most wanted and merciless. "Okay, men, back off. Let Fiona kill this snitch." The mercs moved back. "This'll be entertaining." Fiona smiled. She looked truly evil at that very moment. "You're suppose to be dead," Andy said. Fiona went up to him and pushed him against the wall. "And you're suppose to be married with a child of your own. Yet you cheat with two women." "How did you--?" he asked nervously. Fiona cut him off. "How did I know? Well...." Fiona held up a small book. It was a diary. She threw it to the floor. "Please, don't tell her," Andy said. "Tell her? I'll give her you half-dead body on a plate if I really wanted to. But it's not the fact you can't even keep your hands off one woman, but two." "I don't know what you mean," he lied. "Remember that one and only time I spoke to you?! Well I said leave her alone! Meaning Angelica! And you didn't, did you?!" Fiona asked. Her voice was raised and you could see her storm clouds brewing, ready to strike. Angelica watched intently. She felt so betrayed by Lucas, but it wasn't like she hadn't expected it. "Well, no," Andy said nervously. You could see the fear in his eyes, and the look of pure evil in Fiona's. "No, that's right. Now, I'll let you live long enough to let all my friends go," she said softly. "No chance. I got this far, I won't lose." "Do you want me to lose my patience, scum?" Fiona asked, pushing him to the floor. "Listen to her," Angelica interjected. The Chief and his men smirked. "Go on, rip his head off," one of the mercs shouted. "Shut it, you idiot," the Chief snapped. Andy looked at Angelica. Fiona just glared at him, then walked over to Angelica as though she had only now realized she was there. The drugs seemed to have messed up her head more than she realized. "Are you okay?" she asked Angelica. Andy began crawling towards the door. "Take one more step, scum. Go on, I dare you," Fiona said, without turning her head. They could tell it was a death threat by the sound of her voice. The Chief couldn't help but laugh at that idiot Andy. "Hey, Kerensky, ten bucks says she kills him in one minute," the merc said. "No, it'll take half that time." The merc smirked. "You're on." "I'm okay," Angelica replied to Fiona, nodding. Fiona gave a small smile to Angelica. The storm clouds above their heads were getting darker and more violent. Fiona stood straight and walked over to Andy. "Do you want to die Andy?" she asked. Andy didn't move or say anything. "Because the people who wrong me, they always die, Do you think you've wronged me, Andy?" Again, he didn't reply. He just stared at her. "I think you deserve a choice. Five or less wrongs against me, you die quickly. Five or more, slow and painful. Now, I want you to use your own fingers to count so everyone knows I'm not cheating." Andy nodded fearfully. "Alright, you lied to my friends." she said. Andy held up one finger. "You lied to my enemy. You tried to kill me with poison. You tried to attack my friends. You tried to take my friends. You tried to take my family." Fiona spoke slowly. Each time she stopped, Andy help up a finger. "Lets count them. One, two, three, four, five, six. Oh, dear. Looks like you lost. So now, call of your stupid team and you can suffer your punishment like the loser you are." Andy held his head low. Fiona clenched her fists. Angelica grinned evilly. "This is gonna be good," the Chief said. Andy pushed a button on a small device he had. "There, gone," he muttered. Fiona smiled. Again, she looked very evil. She opened her hand and in it was a bright light. It was one of her sun sphere's. She held it under Andy's chin. "Anything to say before I melt you skin off your body? No? Then don't scream." She put the sun sphere against Andy's skin. Andy started to scream in agony. His skin was being melted alive. It took a good long thirty seconds for him to stop screaming and his body to fall to the floor. Fiona stood, glanced at the body and looked at everyone before focusing on the chief. "You, get everyone out of those cuffs," Fiona told him and walked from the room. "Got it," he said as he uncuffed everyone. He then walked to the smart-mouthed merc. "Okay, pay up." The merc swore and handed the Cheif a ten dollar bill. "Well, now what?" Angelica stood, rubbing her red wrists. She stared down at Andy in disgust. He had almost killed her girlfriend! "Well, I guess it's time for me to leave," said Kerensky. "I've got a whole merc company to run. If you need a job done, give me a call." The Chief entered the garage and jumped back into his car. "Alright, back to the chopper." With that, he drove off. * * * Back at home Jane growled. "Jason, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!" She slammed the phone down. "Freaking blackmailer--" She stopped. Something was wrong. Something was happening. It couldn't be Alex. He was watching TV in the next room. But.... No, Jane forced herself to think. |
