Fiona kissed Angelica deeply on the lips. When she finally pulled away she was still smiling.
"You have no idea how happy I am. I can't believe you've done all this."

"It had to happen eventually, so why should I not surprise you?" She kissed her back. She was glad that Fiona was happy.

"So how much detail have you planned? Have I got a dress waiting?" Fiona asked she wanted to know all the details. Such has when exactly the wedding was, where etc.

"The store has a selection of wedding dresses for pregnant women of designs which you may be interested in. I told them what you definitely would not like, and what you may want."

Angelica knew Fiona so well and she trusted her judgement, even if their tastes differed slightly.
"And our bridesmaid?" She asked meaning Scarlett.

"They have a larger selection of dresses for her," Angelica nodded. "You may choose if you wish."

"I'd love to choose. Can we go in now?"

Angelica nodded. "Of course." She turned back to look at Scarlett. "Come out."

Scarlett jumped out grinning. She went up to Angelica and held her hands up.
"Picke me up please." She said.

"You are four years old," Angelica pointed out.

Scarlett frowned at that. It made her look more like her mother if it were possible.
"I want up." She said defiantly. Fiona bit her lip to stop herself giggling. It was like watching a mini Angelica. She crouched down to her daughter.
"Sweetheart. Your getting a big girl now, and your going to be a big sister soon. So you need to show us you can accept holding hands and walking because when the baby is born we will need to carry him or her." Fiona explained. Scarlett thought about this for a moment.
"Because baby's can't walk." Scarlett finished off the sentance in a way that suggested she'd heard this before. Fiona smiled.
"Exactly. Baby's can't walk and you can." Fiona confirmed. Scarlett nodded.
"Alright mummy." She said. Fiona stood straight and Scarlett took her hand. Fiona gave a small smile to Angelica.
"That how it's done." She teased.

Angelica may have been able to influence, negotiate, order around and intimidate people in the business world of criminal activity, but when it came to kids it was lucky she had Fiona.

Angelica gave a small shrug. "Like I said, where would I be without you?" Of course, if she didn't have Fiona, it was unlikely she would have Scarlett now anyway.

"And as I said. Struggling with Nannies and they wouldn't give her the love she needs." Fiona said with a smile. She linked arms with Angelica and they walked into the shop.

Angelica glanced around. "Assuming I kept her. I know I wouldn't have her if it were not for you."

"I know, but I think you most certainly made the right choice in the end." Fiona replied. A women stepped out from the back room. She was tall and fairly old, her grey hair tied in a high bun. Her face was wrinkled and looked as though smiling was a struggle.
"Can I help you?" She asked in a tone friendlier than her appearance made her out to be.

"I recently reserved several maternity wedding dresses for my fiancée to choose. In addition, we want to see your selection of dresses for young girls," Angelica said formally. She raised an eyebrow. "And we don't want to wait long."

"Of course not. I was expecting your arrival. If you want to follow me to the dressing area. There's are places to sit if you wish." The lady said and began walking to a back room.

Angelica followed with Fiona and their daughter. She always held high expectations and she would not give a business her patronage unless she was satisfied that they would provide her with what she felt was the very best of service.

They arrived in a room that had a curtain leading to a dressing booth and there were comfy sofas opposite. At the end of the room was a wall of mirrors with a plinth.
Fiona sat down and Scarlett sat next to her. The lady vanished and moments later a younger girl around Fiona's age arrived. She looked like a younger version of the previous women.
"Hello my name is Louise. Under normal circumstances we offer complimentary champagne. How ever would you prefer tea?" She asked Fiona. Fiona nodded.
"Yes please." She replied. Louise turned to Angelica.

"Would you prefer tea, coffee, champagne." She asked.

"Tea," she replied curtly.
