In other words, I agree with you whole-heartedly. One thing I noticed is that his portrayal seemed almost like a stereotype that the Japanese normally attribute to Americans in anime. The free-loving, womanizing, rugged, gun for hire. I've got a couple nicknames for him because of this. "Japanese Rambo" and "The Real American Hero........ of Feudal Japan."
