I am a history buff, and am interested in Koei games because of their portrayals of various historical times. Briefly in seventh grade, I had learned a little about Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu (though Nobunaga wasn't in the curriculum O_O), so when I heard about Samurai Warriors I thought: "Wow, that's cool. Maybe I can learn more about the period from playing the game." For Dynasty Warriors (the first one I played), it was a little bit differently. You see, I used to rent games from a game shop, and one day I couldn't find any games I wanted. Flustered, I just picked up Dynasty Warriors 3. Much to my surprise, it was a pretty fun game. That was my first Koei game, actually, and I got interested in the novel, the history of the Three Kingdoms, and other Koei games thanks to it. |
