I forget exactly how it works, but I think after you use a unit special attack (like katana troops' death wheel or spearmens' spear wall, etc.) and then hit the R1 button, you can do extra damage with a combo. It's a very useful move. Anyways, what Sakon says is true. I don't use Nobunaga or Mitsuhide unless I have to. For Mitsuhide, that's practically never. For Nobunaga, that's a lot, however. That's the halt damage ... when the enemy unit is charging up their special attack, if you hit them you can do more damage and with a support unit, pressing R1 when it turns blue will get even MORE damage done. I think it also works if you use your special T attack at close range to the enemy unit. I never use Mitsuhide unless I have to. Ever. I hate him, he's a creep and grosses me out. I also find that pretty much everyone else is far superior to him anyway.
