Bladestorm and Kessen, DW and SW can get a little boring when you keep playing the series and follow the same plot over and over again, knowing what's going to happen next. I just played the Bladestorm demo two days ago, and it's pretty good for a strategy game. Also, Kessen has a unique storyline and you never know what's going to happen next, I thought Honnoji would be the last level where Nobunaga dies, and who would've thought that Liu Bei was Cao Cao's brother in Kessen II? Anyway, back to Bladestorm, I'm glad Koei came up with something new and decided to move to European history, and making a whole new genre this time. I doubt there's a game too similar to Bladestorm, it's almost like a mix between KUF or Ninety-Nine Nights. Too bad there isn't a Dynasty Tactics 3, I would've voted for that if it was still around. I thought it was slightly better than ROTK, since it is less complicated. I liked the cutscenes, the character designs, the gameplay, and everything else. As for ROTK, I only started playng it from VII, and I can see huge improvements in between the games, especially ROTK XI. I would've liked it even better if it was based on history instead of the novel though. |
