Combining Ice and Fire is actually recommendable for certain characters, especially for those who were great with both elements in DW5 and SW2 (Yukimura, Zhang Fei, Kotaro, Huang Zhong, Xiahou Yuan, Zhao Yun etc.) Sometimes it can be good, I agree as well. It isn't often useful, but can be. Also, fire doesn't always douse when it hits the ground. I don't think it ever has for me
