Mitsuhide pulls the trigger, but Nobunaga is saved due to a butterfly shaped pin that he happens to have worn near his chest, where he is shot and often feels burning pain. After that Nobunaga goes into the wilderness for a couple of years only to come back and decide to retake Gifu and beat Mitsuhide. After his forces slay Saitou Toshimitsu, the stalwart Akechi defender of Gifu Castle, a whole war ensues between what has become the Akechi Western Forces and the Oda Eastern Forces. Foreigers, including a large Spanish navy, support the former, and so do the Chosokabe and several other Western clans. |
