Dynasty Warriors 4 , without a doubt, was the DW game that I invested the most time into. When I first bought DW3 from the bargain bin for a mere $9.00, it wasn't long after until I heard about the release for DW4 and eagerly picked it up. Now I enjoyed DW3, but I didn't really understand the series that well until DW4. DW4 was able to present the story in a clear and concise method that for me, was much easier to understand. The graphics were also so much better compared to DW3 it made it's predecessor look just plain ugly. So I was immediately astounded with how much better DW4 compared with 3. The Kingdom Modes may have been long and repetitive, but looking back, I hardly noticed at the time because there were so many different maps. DW4 was also the only Warriors game that I was able to enjoy for such a lengthy period that I was able to acquire all level 10 (or was it 11?) weapons, orbs, items, mounts, etc. I think I was maybe only missing a few endings. That is until I played a Viewtiful Joe demo from PS Underground that deleted all memory off of my cards!! <_< (I still have a grudge against that game!) Oh yes, and DW4 had the fun taunt feature!! Who didn't giggle insanely at Zhang He's beautiful butterflies capable of stopping peons in their tracks? Yep that about wraps it up for me... wait, how could I forget to mention? DW4 was the game that spawned my Sima Yi obsession. Yes, I am the fan I am today thanks to DW4.
