@LoW: I'm not sure, but isn't slaying Mitsuhide a requirement? Plus, I've noticed that killing Ranmaru before him prevents you from getting the weapon report. So in other words, I didn't kill Ranmaru, though still was able to get it.

Btw you can also prevent the explosion by killing Hideyoshi, and still get the weapon.

You might want to try and confirm this if you can.

Yes, I believe killing Mitsuhide is a requirement because that's what's said in weapon acquisition. But killing Ranmaru first doesn't prevent you from getting the weapon, though (that's what I've always done).

It's possible that you don't need to complete every mission, but it's recommended for the sake of your allies. If you lose too many, Keijun Miyabe defects and Nagamasa doesn't order his army to charge. I'll test it later tonight.

Why I'm saying this is because I got the weapon yesterday. I killed Ranmaru first, then Nobunaga commended me, but the report of the unit never showed. I saved it right before killing either one as well.

After that I killed Mitsuhide, then Nagamasa ordered the charge, and finally Nobunaga commends you. So I'm assuming that you need that order from Nagamasa since thats when the report came.
