Although briefly the game is set in the Sengoku Era, where the main character is a young Oda Nobunaga, you play as his story throughout the game as he ages and the Oda army becomes a more dominant force in Japan. Kessen III has more action gameplay then the prior titles. Essentially you could call it an action/strategy clash. You have managerial control over your army, such as purchasing new equipment, horses etc, but also in battles while you can command units to where you wish it's also about how you control them on your own, in an action style is what really determines how successful you will be. Basically, if you have an interest in the Sengoku Era, or want to play a game that combines both action and strategy elements you should like it.
