They're probably low on morale because of constantly being shot at while they're going up to the gate. Cavalry works fine in siege, you just have to know how to use them. Pikes are superior however. Horses are not good though, due to being easy to Confuse with guns. Bows are useless in defense unless you don't have guns. A gun squad in a tower/fortress is superior any day of the week. I honestly see no point in ever using bows unless your fief is suffering heavy rains that year, and then only until you get rifles should you use bows. Spears/Yari/Pikes should be your workhorse. They should be used in nearly every battle. |
