I like playing both the Western Army and the Eastern Army Really? I thought the map was too small, actually. The center of the battlefield seemed too crowded and there wasn't much going on around the edges of the battlefield. If you ask me, the battle was partially ruined because player literally had to be in two or three places at the same time. This goes for both Western and Eastern forces. Also, some things didn't make much sense... such as Mori and Kikkawa's defection (it would be better if they left the battlefield instead), and Hanzo serving Eastern forces when playing for Western Army (understandable, though, since Tokugawa forces are lacking playable characters at the moment). Of course, I'm only talking about Free Mode version. Characters like Motochika, Nene, Yoshihiro (not the Dream version), Musashi and Masamune had great Sekigaharas. Free Mode version, though, was a big disappointment.
