Wait, is this stages you don't like because they're too difficult or stages you dislike because of design? ...I'm going to go with the latter, due to the fact that the more difficult I find a stage - the more I tend to enjoy it; since it forces you to think and prioritize. Anyways, in terms of design, alot of the DW4 maps are pretty boring looking. Not alot of variety or meaningful visual differentiation between them; though some standout for just being boring to play. I didn't like the DW4 Xia Kou much, the map just seemed far too squished for a map that involved a moving boat. I did like the Generic!Ling Tong and the like, though. I also thought the DW4 Chi Bi was incredibly underwhelming in terms of design, mostly becuase it's far too dark in-game. Water isn't nessecarily the best setting to work with in terms of nighttime, and the ships were so randomly placed together. DW5 had, for the most part, pretty good stages - though one that was a dissapointment compared to it's previous iterations was the Nanman Shu seige stage. I loved this in DW4; it was incredibly frustrating and rightfully so. But the DW5 one was so, so easy. I felt the map was streamlined in a beneficial way, but it was way too easy. So, that one was upsetting. The other dissappointment in terms of stages that became worse over time was the Yellow Turban Rebellion in DW5. Again, I loved the DW4 one where you had 3 (4 if you did it right) stages that showed it in a deeper light. It was also neat in terms of showing how the Han forces built themselves up. |
