I call it a celestial sword . In reference to Ushiwaka from Okami, who is actually the same person, who creates a sword of light from his flute.

I think Yoshitsune's weapon of choice is due to the myths that surround him. I remember reading myths describing Yoshitsune's sword as a ray of light whenever he attacked.
