It failed as it didnt have the hardcore appealing elements of the Warriors series yet whilst being different enough still had the stigma attached to the warrior series that put off the non hardcore also. All in all it was between a rock and a hardplace and i liked what they tried even venturing into a different period of time in history this time in europe but that was never gonna win much appeal with its massive asian fan base now was it. A shame actually, KOEI had the balls to try something different, did a decent job and got very little scope for it
